Player Experience Highlights

Community Insight:

Excellent text based adventure. Easy to play without looking like a game.

The fee times you get to really make choices seem to fly by then the game is over. All in all it would be nicer to really grow through ranks.

This was like living inside a Hornblower book. Immensely fun and well written, so we hope there's a sequel.

We need a pt.2 or a game just like it.

Thoroughly enjoyed, sad we didnt have more.

The experience of playing this game was pretty exciting. Though it was too short, we were expecting a choice to become a pirate through mutiny. Nonetheless, it is a fine game that deserves this good review. Though it could use some more story and more career choices for ya guy, it was really entertaining for us, so not necessarily THE greatest choose-your-own adventure game, but pretty cool and superiorly unique over some of the others Ive played from this company. Semper Fi brothers.

One nation is obviously England. The other is obviously France. Why not just use those two names? Why use the names Albion and Gaul? Those odd and outdated names ruin the experience.

This game was well written and amazingly fun. Regretted killing that frenchman or Gaul man in the end. Perhaps thats a sign of how outstandingly well written this was.

Clearly has done their research adding much to it. We like all the different traits and how they actually affect your choices. Our only complaint is that its far too short we want more.

A lot of love and heart went in to this game, as well as the game of choice series in general. Perfect for when you want to get lost in another world.

We have read and completed this story more times than we can count, we cant find anything like it. We truly love broadsides.

Specifically we will pay you $250 to make two more of these Napoleonic era Navy stories for us to enjoy. Really fun stuff. Steven dot James924 at gmail.

This game is pretty good, but when we try to restore . This is a major bug which needs to be fixed urgently.our purchase, it closes and keeps doing so every time we try to play it.

So we recently got this game since we were looking for a Napoleonic Wars style game. Was good, storyline and choose your own story idea is good, until.. We were playing and we had to do something. About 20 minutes later, we went to resume our story, which we were far into. The game restarted our progress. We are disappointed in this, and if this one of those pay to complete sort of stories, we are unimpressed.

It was a fun and exciting game to play, though…it was a sad ending we chose. But, we would recommend updating this game a further more for more adventures throughout and Each one becoming more difficult than the last. Overall, is a good game and we never had this much fun playing a game on mobile.

We love the period and am a huge Horacio Hornblower/Jack Aubrey fan. Its a lot of fun being out in their position in a text based game. Its very well crafted and itll be fun to play again and again to get different results. Someday, our daughter might enjoy playing this game. Because of the writing, you can play as a girl if you want.

An amazing story worth experiencing.

Never in our life we played such a game so intense.

We love text based games. Games that let your imagination do the work, describing a world of excitement. This game is great. The only thing Id change is to add more to the game. Make it longer, make a new one, whatever you (the developers) would think best. Please just make more of this.

It was a great game Lotts of fun kept our attention we would like if it was longer and would like to play a secont game like it.

This game is very enjoyable! We love the storyline, how many choices there are to pick from, the fact that, even when it seems to be an obvious answer, any decision can change the entire story for the worst, it gives an edge to playing and makes it more exciting. The betrayals, quarrels, being in power as a captain, we find really neat. Unlike most of the other games like this you dont have to pay to keep playing. Overall, we suggest this game to anyone who likes chose your own adventure stories and exciting storylines.

This app immerses you into a Patrick OBrian-esque world and captivates you from the outset. 6/5.

The story line hooks you in and drags you into the depths of an ocean of a story.

How fun it is to play along with a great story.

Beautifully writing and satisfies our imaginary desire of alternate historical fiction. Would love to see more of the naval inspired stories; as well as pre-modern based stories as well, wether it be fantasy or alternative history. Absolutely beautiful job from the writers and creators of the game itself.

When we first got this game we thought you could be a pirate or join either side of the war but we like the realism and the idea of the story.

Great text-based game with an age of sail theme. Much reminiscent of the Choose Your Own Adventure books and the role-play games they spawned. We have played a dozen times, and each change takes us to a slightly different conclusion. Well-written adventure.

Being a Naval Captain in real life (Venezuelan Navy) retired from active duty in 2000, we enjoyed the game very much. We commanded a 37 meter gun patrol boat, a 113 meter frigate and the frigate squadron. As the Combat Fleet Chief Of Staff we commanded several operational task groups at sea. Although our sailingship experience is limited to a three month summer cruise a head of midshipmen (1986) we could easily relate to all maneuvers and situations in the game. The most interesting aspect is human relations. Aside from the brutal disciplinary methods of the 1600s, 1700s an even up to the 1800s, the rest of the leadership and social aspects are very much alike as our own experiences. Congratulations on a job well done. Bravo Zulu.

This is such a great game we wish they made more games like this we dont know what else to say besides this an awesome game.

The story is well-written and enjoyable, realistic while maintaining a sense of adventure and unique personal experience according to your decisions. Ive played twice and am pleasantly surprised by the different outcomes until the end. Our only wish is that it were longer and delved more deeply into different aspects of a naval officers life. That would be epic. Thank you for your hard work.

We loved this game. It reminded us of Forester and OBrian books. Adventure and excitement. It is not a long games but very satisfying.

Yes three stars for what should be five. Great game it started to be was enthralled with the depth it was seemingly going to have at the beginning. So we paid the fee to remove the advertisements. Then went on to three more events and received the admiration of a greatly nation retiring a poor post captain to live ever after. Game finished less then an hour After two years since this game apparently was written one might think there was more creativity lurking in the depths but alas nought. Ale anyone? Great Storyline Great potential but lacking in the shortness. We ask for a refund but seriously doubt that one will be procured.

As our first choose your own adventure game, we didnt know what to expect. Actually, the fact that it was all text turned us off. Our friend said it was great, but we ignored him for months. When we finally gave it a chance, we were surprised! This game has better graphics than any other smartphone game Ive played. The story is much more substantial, so it really drew us in.

We had a lot of fun playing this. By the end of it, we had worked our way up to Admiral status and we had become a national hero. And the whole time it was feeling like an epic story that we were forging. We definitely recommend this game.

One of our favorite games. Very fun, very historically accurate, and the choices and story was great. Our fav choice of game.

The perfect naval high-seas adventure story. Even years after the first time we played it, this remains a classic and our favourite Choice of ____ game. Nothing will ever top either the fun of going hohoho, menfolk are far too unsuited for naval life! Or the romance with Villeneuve.

It is a good book. We like you choose your own path. The only downside is that we wish it never ended because we felt we were acting lieutenant tofani and serving under the Royal Navy.

Amazing story and very entertaining, it was a little short but the amount of action made up for it.

At first we doubted this app because it was tucked away in the app stores depths… We were instantly addicted and It made us really wish that we took on the role of "Mr.Vazcones" then climbed the ranks and earned the name of "Sir Sebastian Vasconez" with our rank being, "Admiral"… If you were wondering… We married the quiet/shy one, and lived a wonderful life with her always by our side we were considered a knight by the king himself and a hero to all 10/10.

This game had us intensely hooked and we were sad to see that we got to the ending, nevertheless, amazing game.

We read Patrick O'Brian's and C.S. Foster's novels about the Royal Navy in the latter Age of Sail. This game gave us a chance to experience at a distance, some of the decisions those characters made. Having spent time at sea on many oceans we could appreciate the wealth of details on each page. We look forward to the next edition, perhaps using the voyages of Captain Cook as a model.

We were truly amazed and mesmerized with this game. We hope there are more of these done. Maybe a space war version? Please.

Loved it! Took our back to our younger years when we used to read adventure story books. Very well written and thought out! Played many times.

We were looking for a game that was different from what we usually play. We found it in this game. It kept us interested and swept up in the storyline. We were when it ended. BTW, we don't usually write reviews unless we really like the product. We loved the storyline and the choices we had to choose from made us really think about our actions for each choice before proceeding. Keep up the great work and write more stories.

This was a fantastic game but it needs to be longer with more adventure we had just gotten admiral and we couldn't do anything more. This leaves a feeling of missed adventure of the story being wrapped up quickly. Other than that good game.

It is both classic and unmatched. A short life worth the living. We would love to see more from this innovative writer.

We were glued to this game the story is well written and the choice make you feel like you are in command of your very own ship :D wish it was longer but hey a lot of time and thought has to Go into these things and you guy did a great job! Can't wait to see what's next (more naval stuff pleas c;).

We loved the amount of effort put into this game, and we can understand why it was short. We loved how detailed the role play was, and we honestly laughed out loud when it switched the traditional roles of men and women. We absolutely suggest that you get this app, for a little pastime gaming. To the maker, you are an amazing writer, and if you ever wrote a story, we would read the heck out of it. Thank you so much for making this game.

Totally enjoyed the game. It's long, interesting and very involving.

At his has got to be one one of the best text based games we've ever played. We definitely recommend it to any text based game player.
