What Makes Choice of Robots Stand Out
The robots you design will change the world! Will you show them the true meaning of love, or conquer Alaska with your robot army?
"Choice of Robots" is an epic 300,000-word interactive sci-fi novel by Kevin Gold, where your choices control the story. It's entirely text-based—without graphics or sound effects—and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.
Play out thirty years of your life as a brilliant robot maker, from graduate school near the present day to a future in which your robots have changed everything. Depending on your choices, your robots may be independent or obedient, clumsy or graceful, empathic or cold…and you yourself may live to an old age happily married or alone with only robots to comfort you.
Play as male or female, gay or straight, with nine characters to romance, four alternate climax chapters, and over seventy achievements to unlock.
• Build a unique robot character—you choose everything from its shape to what it calls you
• Instigate or prevent a robotic uprising
• Teach your robots to love humanity, or disdain it
• Build an artificial intelligence suitable to take control of the world's governments
• Start a war against the United States, and win
• Marry a human or an advanced robot, and start a family
This Adventure game offers engaging gameplay and regular updates for mobile players.

Player Experience Highlights
Community Insight:
Ive literally been playing Choice of Robots for years and have enjoyed seeing all the little updates. Choice of games makes great material. There are several other of these narrative games that Im looking forward to playing again.
Ive played (more like lived) this game fully through thrice and every time it was a unique special experience. Thank you to whoever made this game. We could not recommend it more.
A wonderful game that we come back to play, often.
This game is super immersive for being a text adventure, has compelling characters, and is more relevant than ever with the rise of ChatGPT. Would recommend to anyone who likes robots or sci-fi.
This game provides a wide range of paths to follow, and an engaging narrative. There are hints along the way of how your choices are setting the stage for possible outcomes, but its not so predictable as to be boring or feel like a puzzle you need to solve. Highly recommended.
Really fun, we enjoy watching the choices we make influence the world and the story is immersive and enjoyable.
Honestly its a strange feeling to be attracted to a character. Our play through it felt like we were making choices that only we would make and the little one we would be raising. At times we thought we hope nothing bad comes to our robot, and you hope the robot loves you as much as you put time and thought into your choices. It really is a lovely game.
We were a fan of the choose your path books in school. We loved the feeling of being a part of the story direction. And even hacking our way through the story to get the perfect endings. This beautiful app gave us the same feeling those classics did back then. We loved the story. Thank you for such great content.
Theres little to say about Kevin Golds Choice Of Robots other than thats its absolutely exceptional. If this isnt the pinnacle of interactive storytelling, we want to read the novel that is. Throughout each of the vast number of varied story arcs, youll plunge into a unique aspect of science fiction with the aid of Kevins breadth of knowledge on subjects such as philosophy, war, romance, differential equations (its not scary), the play Pippin and, and (of course) the definition of life. And into this vast web, Kevin weaves stories that reflect your own with an eeriness that might lead you to believe the story itself is self-aware. Do yourself a favor and play/read this. But be warned, youll replay/read it. A lot. A lot lot.
Ive played around 15 choice of games, and this is the one we come back to the most This game has so many endings and many choice affect how your robot turns out spoilersEvery time we play we find a new thing, from the elf shop to stopping the revolution with the ex-teacher end spoiler This is one of the most dynamic games made from Choice Of.
This game was clearly made with love and familiarity with AI. The depth of the characters and subtle shifts in what happens are delightful. We cant wait to see what this studio comes out with next.
We had a hard time believing all of the hype in the reviews, but Ive got to say that this interactive novel does more in one game than most exceptional ones do in three. This is a complete package rather than that wait for the next chapter and pay for it to continue your story nature of really good interactive novels that Ive seen. This is long enough to be a whole series of interactive novels and a fine one at that. Whoever made this and took the time to bleed this emotion into this piece of art, if youre reading this, thank you. Thank you so much.
Some may view the unorthodox text and choice style as boring or lacking in immersion, however the great writing and sense of influence you have through your choices creates a deep and personal experience. If you play the game seriously, there will be multiple points in which you face moral dilemmas. Is it moral to send intelligent beings, albeit robots into war? If not, then more humans will have to be sent instead which creates greater casualties. The writing in the game creates a strong attachments or animosity towards characters and your choices will have a noticeable impact on how the story unfolds. There is tons of replay value, however we wish there was more to be done with a single story line rather than having to replay it again in order to explore the story rich world the game offers (but that may just be us being stingy because the game was great).
Hands down the best Choice of game available. It has a great narrative and your decisions really matter. Im a huge fan of this devs games and Ive played through this one more times than the rest combined. So good.
Some choice-of games have the tendency to feel lamely linear, giving you choices in the story that dont really seem to have much impact. Sometimes, these games feel like theyre over ridiculously fast. This is NOT one of those games. Ive played it about five times over the months Ive had it, and you get drawn into the story every time (which is a rare quality for these types of games). Very little chance that youll be disappointed in downloading this gem of an app.
We don't know how we're just discovering this, but this choose your own adventure text game is awesome. The story is great: gripping and sometimes moving. There is also great replayability here. We've already played through it twice, and we bought it a few hours ago.
Choice of Robots is one of Choice of Games' essential installments. For $5, you get a game with lots of replayability, charming romantic interest, lots of customization, a transparent stats system, and at least four different endgames. It makes you think to about the implications of sentient AI. If you only can buy one CoG app, get this one.
We liked the game. The choice is very good. You definitely feel in control most of the time, and developing the robot is extremely fun. Replaying is also a nice option as we have completed 3 runs so far. One of our favorite choice games.
Best game we've played all year. A very well written game that touches on the intersection of technology and philosophy. Highly recommended.
This is one of our favorite choice of games. We always grow really attached to our robot, regardless of the routes we take. Our only criticism is that the end of the middle part of the game can get a bit dull. We ended up staying up until 6 in the morning on our first playthrough. It is very immersive.
We loved and hated the ending, at least the one we got. We loved our robot, we named her Ariel. She was like our own child and the way she displayed emotion made us happy. Great job on this story, please make more like this.
We would love a sequel or another story like this one.
Simply amazing, there are so many different variations and endings it's ridiculous.
It was an amazing story to be a part of.
The story is interesting, options are varied, and choices matter. We spent several hours replaying this game to see how different choices affected the world and trying to find the best ending. We highly recommend this game.
Quite the compelling game. Wonderful replay value, engaging relationships, impacting choices, and we'd have to say our favorite text based game to date. Describing it in terms of merely a game, however, does not give it the credit it deserves. You live a lifetime within it. The relationships tug at your heart. The world you live in is altered by you and in turn alters you. Long after playing it we have thought about it. From one story teller to another, your work here is quite well done and deserves hearty applause, Kevin Gold.
Best game we've ever played. We give this game 10/10, totally recommend it.
This is a well written text-based game. It kept us engaged. It's not perfect, but we're glad we purchased.
This game's depiction of a grad student's relationship with their grant chasing advisor is eerily accurate in many cases. The story also presents several political and ethical quandaries. You're left contemplating whether a grad student can strike out on their own and make their way in the world without foregoing their principles and initial enthusiasm for their field. Will you sell out your morals, chase prestige, and destroy humanity? Will you risk your life to rescue your spouse before they're sent to an internment camp during the robot wars? This game certainly doesn't limit you.
So many rewarding paths to try.
This game places you in a second life. Wonderful writing and an intriguing story line. The many choices let you live so many different ways. It is a romance or a war story or both and everything in between. We were completely sucked in from first "page" to last.
The choices are clear but not too in your face. The story is so captivating that we found ourselves almost brought to tears at some points. Our second playthrough was the same as our first just so we could experience it again. It also comes with several paths to choose(even though you'll probably replay the same one once or twice out of sheer enjoyment). Definitely our favourite.
Its been 4 months since we played this game and we can't stop thinking about it. Its moving, memorable, and really affecting. It didn't seem like anything at first but later on you'll realize how deep this game is etc. Worth the money.
We have played many of these types of games and this… This is just amazing. Excellent story telling as well as interesting and in depth characters make this one of our favorite apps/games (we could never figure out which this is) of all time. It is worth buying.
We judge games based upon five things, one star for each. If the price payed is worth it, it is what the app description says it is, it is fun, there is replay-ability, and is mostly bug free. This game is all 5, but they should decrease the cost to $4.50.
It's a fantastic game, choices that envelope and change the story, good and bad. Plus a twist of physiological dilemmas, cause you don't to, in some cases, to question you, mentally, emotionally and morally. 10/10 And if you guys want more, check out the choiceofgames website. Good luck.
We loved this game, it being only our 2nd CoG game. We have played through twice, though Miko, our first robot, is the one who sticks with us. We always ended up heavy in empathy, and some of the choices at the end of that path… Hard man. But it's a phenomenal read, and we'd suggest it to anyone.
Immersive story. Good depth on choices driving real differences in the story. Just got into interactive fiction playing 5 other titles. This one is the best by far.
Amazing CoG, perhaps the best yet. We cried at the end, is there a way to survive without becoming a robot? We don't want our poor Arachne to be alone…. ;(.
This storytelling and writing in this "game" are absolutely fantastic. We don't even consider this a game, it's an experience. An experience that you too should partake in.
This is our first choice of games titles Seriously,it's super good awesome title Every choice that we've made have an effect on the story The branching of the story the possibility, the replay value is huge we're out of words It's simply awesome Get it now.
This is seriously one of the best Choice of Games we've played. The story is lovely and the choices you make really do matter and shape the story. We felt really attached to our character and the choices he made and the relationships he built. A log of great endings. We've played through dozens of times and each run through is different.
This game had us on the edge of our seat the entire time! Our heart racing. Our mind perplexed. Worth every penny we spent! Knowing how great this game was, we'd go back and even pay more for it. Your choices really do affect the world around you and you feel like your being whisked away to a whole new life. You actually feel like your there, making those decisions in a real world setting. We give high praise to the writers and developers of this game. You've truly given us a whole new experience.
Huge game where your choices matter. You aren't mindlessly completing tasks to advance the plot, you choose what happens. It's fun and you can be who you want to be.
Excellent text-based game. Your choices are meaningful and change a lot of the events in the story. We've played through it at least five times, and each play through was satisfying. The writing is good, provides a number of shout-outs to literature, philosophy, and cartoons from the 1980s. The protagonist can change the balance of power significantly over the 30-year period that the game runs. It appears that there may be at least seven romances possible. We loved this game.
We find this game amazing this is your best game period we would also like if you could please make a Choice of Robots sequel.
Worth every penny if you like text-adventure games/books. There are so many branching paths, you can play completely peacefully, help out in a war, or go all-out lone invader. There are multiple relationships, both robot and human, just so many different possibilities it boggles the mind.
This game is absolutely amazing. We particularly love the way you can take over the world. By the end we ruled a nation and killed pretty much everybody in our way including our love interest. Now we are the ruler of the world.
Choice of Robots is an amazing RP game where your choices ACTUALLY affect the story. You have so many choices, from choice to what robot you build to what company you want, and even from marriage (the same-sex marriage is very appreciated)! When the story ended, we were very pleased with our choices because they were choices we would have made, rather than just have our choices made for us. This has lots of replay value and great dialogue. This is something you NEED to download now to experience it, no matter the price. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! 5/5.
Choice of Robots is an amazing interactive novel. It's written very well, and even has some action for those interested. We've played it around 10 times now and still am finding new endings. We definitely recommend this game to everybody. Worth the $10 without a doubt. Kudos to the author! :P.
