We hope someone tries writing this type of story again, because it had the potential to be really good. It was just too short, with too few endings and things to work with.

We personally think you should have more choices. No matter what you do everything is the same basically. You always have to be the band leader, and the singer. You should be able to join a band and not have to be the singer. Have more then one choice of the band members you hire. When we went threw it the first time we wanted there to be duo lead guitarists (Me and a npc), a singer/ Rhythm guitarist, Bassist, Drummer, and a keyboardist. When we did it again we wanted to be the drummer but not also a singer. We also would have wanted to be more of a Glam/Hair metal band but well that didnt work. Our point is that this story needs more choices.

If youre looking for a choice of games story and havent played this one yet, its not bad. There are far better stories out there to start with though. Id pick it up when its on sale.

We though this choice game was fun and well written overall. The story starts strong but the sense of pacing starts to get out of whack towards the middle of the story and it felt like we were being fast-forwarded through the story. Many of the stats didn’t seem to matter, and they changed erratically. Our rockstar only had one night of partying and that pushed him surprisingly deep into bad boy territory for example. Still, besides some nit picks, it’s a fun choice game.

We really enjoyed this game but was disappointed that it didn’t keep going. It was to short and we hope that in a future update more content can be added because it was really good!

Like another reviewer, we purchased the game after the first three chapters’ trial, thinking it would last us a while before moving on to another game. Not the case. Took maybe 30 minutes. Of course we can play again, but we’re not sure that we want to.

This game feels like it hasn’t been thoroughly fleshed out. The story is fun and has you make decisions without focusing on silly things like reputation, while also allowing you to decide who is and isn’t in the band, and the direction of said band. But, in the end, this game still took less than ten minutes to complete; there is nothing inherently wrong with this, except that you must pay to unlock the whole game. You can get a sort of trial before paying for chapters four through ten, and the first three chapters led us to believe that this would be an epic game of what it was like to be a rock star in ages past. This was not the case. Past choosing your band members, choosing a manager (or lack thereof), choosing if you want to sign a contract (or, again, if you don’t), and your band’s touring status, there arent very many decision that require depth, or even more than thirty seconds of consideration. And the fact that it ends just as you think it should be starting is a major disappointment. This game will hopefully have more additions in the future, and we will be waiting with bated breath.

We were really excited for this one… Only to be really disappointed. This had real potential to be something amazing. Not saying it’s terrible just that it could be better. It was far too short. We hope that an update comes out with more scenes.

The story was nice enough but we feel like for 2.99 we’ve gotten much better stories from COG. They definitely need to drop the price on this one.

Too short, not enough detail, and the choices are all kind of boring. Nothing seems to have much of an effect. It was interesting enough to play through once but we won’t bother repeating it. Definitely not worth the money.

These games used to be bad but at least they were free.

Choice of games Is wonderful because of the interactivity and the decisions. However, this was a short story not an interactive game. It was a short linear story that was able to be completed in less than an hour without any replay value.

Most choice of games stories are really good, however, this one seemed to not work if you took many paths. For example, you could have a hated rival without ever meeting them.

Would give the game a five star rating but if u pick to be a boy u pick up boys instead of girls.

We really enjoyed it. We thought that there was a great story and all of the choices that you could make were great. Our only real problem with the game is that the ending seemed a bit anti-climactic. The ending just seemed to come out of nowhere. One minute everything is going and the next minute everything seems to be resolved just like that and it’s over. We hope that there is going to be a second apart and it can continue the story. We can think of a number of different things that could happen and we hope that there is going to be more from this game. We also thought that there could be more as far as Romance options. We were hoping that you could have the option of who you date. Again, we really think that there is more that could be done with this game. So we really hope that another part to this story will come.

It had a promising and fun, immersive start. However, once you become famous, everything goes downhill. Your band members are forgettable at best, our characters brother left the band for the stupidest reason, and the sudden ending left us stunned, hoping for more. This game truly has potential and could be the best, but the ending completely destroys the amazing immersion we felt at the start.

We love all of choice of games alternate ending books. And we really enjoyed this one, it is worth a couple extra dollars, and is really fun to play. Our favorite book of theirs is heros rise.

Still has some bugs in the story, but is a decent game overall. 3.5 stars.

We don’t know if it’s a glitch and we don’t care, you pay for the whole story and after a detailed start jumps you right to the end with nothing but two choices.

We wouldn’t play this game again and again. Normally we enjoy any games from CoG, but this disappointed us to be honest. We should’ve expected this when the game first came out, but we didn’t. The characters are kind of one dimensional, in our opinion and the stats kind of don’t make very much sense. There are times when we’re like wow, but those moments are pretty rare here. So all in all, we wouldn’t really recommend this game.

After going through chapter 3 it makes you pay. Also there are a few mistakes with the genders, like if you select male your character is interested in males.

We thought that the concept was interesting. That’s why we bought the full version, however the plot has to many holes. It’s way too short, and it could be improved greatly.

We’ve usually enjoyed Choice of Games stories, but this one seems to have major issues. It was decent in the beginning, but towards the end we suddenly had different members in the band. It seems like there’s a bug in the game that suddenly it "forgets" who is in your band and starts giving you the plot for a different path. Also, it has forced plot lines that no matter what you choose the end result is the same. Then, out of seemingly nowhere, your story ends. Really it makes no sense and is at the same level of writing we would expect from a 12 year old. So, we can only assume something is wrong with the game and several "choice" links are broken. Hopefully this can get fixed.

Took like 10 min to finish, and the story is all but broken, the story seems to lack any sort of choice.

This is a really well made text based game!

Small ridiculous details like being able to seemingly carry drums around. You can’t just pick up a set and carry it in a case but this game seems to think otherwise.

We’re not an 80s child. We’ve had a bit of a hard time relating to some things but that’s not really his/her fault.

The story itself is a huge letdown. Clumsily written, a poor amount of choices, and far too easy/short to complete. You’re better off going for one of their other less rushed stories. The ending was also extremely dissatisfying and seemingly random to your choices.

Decent until the end anyway. Very abrupt and unsatisfying ending. That and it was very short. It may only cost $2 but that is far more than it is worth.

We’re a huge fan of the Choice of series and we had high hopes for this game and the setting that it explores, but we were met with disappointment. It’s a very short game, and didn’t give as many options and changes to the plot as it could have. Not worth the buy, we unfortunately have to say.

Great game but the role model/ bad influence bar is messed up and some stats don’t have much effect. However all in all a great game and we recommend it.

Good but it won’t let us purchase the rest of it please fix and 5 stars.

It has a lot of potential. The annoying thing is that band members we never selected are showing up in our current story, which is annoying and confusing. We’re being generous as we say 3 stars.

The game has potential, but it needs some polishing. Also, we’re fairly sure that the Role Model-Bad Influence bar is messed up…

This is a great game, for the first hour or so. Then when it seems the second act has just begun, the whole game speeds up lightning fast and ends so abruptly. We probably finished it in an hour or do. Probably move on to Slammed! Or another great game by CoG.
