"What’s really innovative about Choices…unlike traditional gamebooks that have a definite end, Choices: And the Sun Went Out is a continuing gamebook that will be updated weekly, allowing you to progress through the story over time. As you make choices in your story, it will advance in ways completely differently than other readers when weekly content is added." – PocketTactics.com

Everything was well cared for and thought out.

We never review apps, but we just had to for this one. The writers and developers of this app are extremely talented. We’ve only finished one story so far, AND THE SUN WENT OUT, and Im just blown away by the intricate details, action-filled plot, and unique world building. It kept us questioning and guessing the entire time. The whole choose your own path aspect was very cool! As a writer, its hard to finish just one storyline nevertheless 5, 10, 25, or more unique paths your main character can take. We cant wait to finish the other two stories but, Im equally as interested in going through SUN again, with alternate choices. If you do the free version, as we tried to do in the beginning, theres a lot of ads that interrupt the pacing of the story. Plus, more ads to gain choice tickets. Eventually we caved and bought the pass let us tell you! It was SO WORTH IT. Get the pass (only a few dollars!!!) and enjoy the incredible, awesome storytelling that awaits you in this app.

Truly enjoyable, very engrossing.

Finished the game any a year ago, loved it, and downloaded again yesterday. However, the ads for tickets doesnt work for us, and just says none available now, check back later.

The titles can literally give us a quick idea as they are meant to do so in every other book. Like the first one, we thought the sun gonna be exploding and that earth would have to evacuate on a spaceship. And for real, we thought the stories were connected to each other. But so far, one of the best interactive storytelling games out there and as far as we can see, we like to imagine and perceive the game as a way to tell Karma, as for each choice will unlock the next path to something and decide what the said religious aspect has in store for us, good or bad. Im in awe of this game for making us think of this, keep the scaffolding up with this game; dont let it be forgotten , and if it will be in the near future, it is okay to be sad about it, but be happy that it has happened, for something small can have a huge effect on the world. Thank you, and you are welcome. :D.

We’ve only just finished And the Sun Went Out, but Im amazed! We wasnt expecting the story to have such emotional depth or complexity. We could hardly put it down after the first few choices. We cant wait to read the other stories and then find out new endings to them all!

Just gotta day we think this game is amazing but when we updated it, it started to crash every time we open it, we’ve tried reinstalling. Please fix this app we enjoyed it a lot and we spent money for the passes so we would really like to keep playing.

At this point can we purchase no ads? Is that even optional? Those things make you wanna delete the whole app, just too many of em.

This game has practically endless replay-ability and a very interesting stories Id def recommend buying the full pass its like 1$ for each story.

We’ve now done all 3 stories and am left to wonder: whats next??! These are great choose your path stories, though over the course of 3 attempts at all 3, we end up in the same place in the end despite deliberately choosing different paths Cant wait for more!!

We recently got the game a few months back and Im on the first story! We really love it so far and our favorite characters are probably Moti, MC, Sharon, and Etienne. Our only issue is that there are a lot of ads which can get annoying when youre at a really good part in the story. Im about halfway through and the sun went out, and we love how the choices affect different timelines as well as meeting new people or going to new places. In another play we did on our phone, we didnt even meet Etienne at first. So Im super happy we got it on our iPad and played it again to see him, overall we do love it just tone it down on the ads or make it like one dollar to get rid of them.

Very good storytelling so far (I just finished the first one). We can tell that the choices we make really will affect the way the story progresses & ends. It seems like a like of story mode games dont have a lot of variety in that aspect, so good job. The ads dont seem to be too much, but maybe thats just because we feel less annoyed by an ad interrupting our game when Im not playing something time sensitive. Keep up the good work.

We wonder what wouldve happened if we had chosen differently and it makes us want to play the game over and over and overwell done! We havent been engrossed in a game like this in years!

This feels like youre reading a book and making changes here and there. The amount of different endings is INCREDIBLE. We found myself glued to this – we’ve now restarted it for the fourth time. One choice we made much earlier on led to an action towards the end that we never expected. Highly recommend!

We love how the game is changed based on the choices that you pick. And how there are other stories to choose. Its also great that you are able to play where you have left off cause it saves automatically.

The best choice based game we have ever seen and the stories are lovable and im still working on and the sun went out overall its the best game on our phone So far!

This is one of our favorite choice based games. The stories are actually interesting and we love that your choices do have an actual impact on the story.

This game has compelling storys great mechanics and great storytelling beat mobile game we have ever played.

We love the game our only thing is that theres waaayy to many ads.

This is the most immersive interactive fiction game we’ve ever played.

Every choice you make actually has consequences and can drastically change the out come of your story, so you feel more absorbed and invested in the characters. The stories are also very well written and feel more akin to a publishable novel vs. The more Wattpad, less professional writing style other interactive games tend to feature. Our only complaint would be the amount of free tickets you get in an hour, but you can earn as many tickets as you want through watching ads, so it isnt too big a deal.

We didnt expect much when we downloaded this, but we were extremely satisfied with it. It was longer than we expected, which was great. Whoever the author is has a gift. It has very good character development and an intense story line that makes you want to keep reading. If you are looking for a novella type story where you help decide the outcome, please read And The Sun Went Out. ADDITION: And Their Souls Were Eaten is just as good! These stories are great!

We noticed there are a lot of reviews saying the app crashed immediately when they try to play and the same thing is happening to us too!! We would really really appreciate it if someone could maybe respond and tell us how to fix it or fix it themselves because it looks like a really awesome game!! Giving this five stars so maybe someone will notice hope we can play it soon!!!!

One of the best story telling games we have played.

We never write reviews, but this one just deserved it. We’ve had choices for about a year now, and we think we’ve played souls all the way through about ten times, if not more- you just cant get tired of it. All the stories are super detailed and unique, which is super hard to get out of fiction nowadays; we cant think of another book series or app that has a storyline similar. We’ve bought all three passes, and Im super glad we did- if you arent sure whether to go ahead with the pass, or if you are frustrated with the ads, its so worth it.

It broke our heart.. We’ve reached a dead end. Althought the plot and events were captivating thank you. We recommend the developers to make a movie certainly deserves.

Im sad the stories have to end at one point.

We play souls were eaten and it is an exciting mix of emotion that you will feel as the reader. Well crafted and pacing is excellent. Enough detail for it to be immersive, yet not so much as to be cumbersome. Support this game master. This is a real review, from a real player. Lot of reviews today are suspect imo- but this here some real good shi- Review will continue after technical problems are corrected.

We’ve just finished And Their Souls Were Eaten and it was a very fun and unique experience. This game is addicting and the story is engrossing. We definitely recommend giving it a try. We cant wait to begin our next adventure.

We just got the game about three days ago. Im already in love with it and intrigued with the stories! Im part way through Before the Sun went out, and we LOVE IT! Its a great game and Im okay with the ticket thing, because you always have a chance to watch an ad for some and it always refills your tickets once a day. And we like the ticket thing anyway because if it didnt have tickets, the game would end to fast and Id be sad! And, for those of you who are having trouble with ads, turn off your wifi/cellular data! Thats what we do and we never have another ad! We’ve seen no grammar mistakes so far and the game is wonderfully developed. There have been no choice glitches, and we have seen nothing wrong. We recommend this game COMPLETELY!! 5-stars the entire way. Get it or youll regret it!

Brought us to tears, the stories were wonderful.

Im a sucker for choice-your-adventure concepts and only slightly regret spending $10+ on this game.

We dont normally leave reviews, but this game deserves it. Out of the three options, And The Sun Went Out is the best. One thing that we love is how there is romance / no romance options and a pick between two- your gender and name is never mentioned, which we find nice too. Replaying ATSWO for a second time and Im getting stuff we didnt even know happened! Im definitely going to be replaying all games in a different path. One of our favorite things is how the game, at the end of each arc, tells you whats happening and a percent of people on that path- once, we got on a path of 1% of players! All in all, we HIGHLY suggest playing this! We dont buy tickets so it can take awhile to complete, but its 100% worth it!!

And there are so many different decisions you can make! Its led through exposition, though, so its not like a text adventure where you control every turn. It was a tender, substantial, intense story about what it might mean to be human. We really enjoyed it.

We just got this today for our watch, but we’ve been reading the stories from our phone and they are incredible. We wish there was a book for these so we wont have to wait for our next choice, and we can just read the whole story. If anyone knows any we would like to know.

2000/10 just finished and their heros were lost its amazing.

Great story line, well written and we highly recommended. Enjoy!

Definitely worth buying the story pass. The add are soooo annoying and its so much more enjoyable! We’ve gotten through one story and cant wait to do the rest. Love this app.

To date this has been the best choose your own adventure story that we’ve seen available for free. Each one has its own ambient sounds and effects which really engages the reader in a way that isnt gimmicky. The stories are in depth and well written where your choices really have an impact. After playing through half of the first story we proceeded to buy the full 3.99 version of each campaign. 12 bucks for the entire package is not only worth it, but keeps you in the story without interruption. We look forward to what the creators make next.

These stories are SO good! Every single choice has a consequence, and we love how it tells you what percentage of people are on the same story arc as yours!!

We just finished our second run for And The Sun Went Out and we loved it so much ITS SO GOOD. We really like how many different things can happen on a single choice. Thats why this is our favorite choice-game app.

This game is awesome! The stories are complex and detailed, but not confusing. We always look forward to the next chapter. The plots are written beautifully and the characters are so well developed that they seem real. Another thing is that theres always enough tickets! You get 10 when you start each story, you get 6 every day, and if you log on every hour you get another ticket. This game is such a fun interactive game and we totally recommend it!

The app is great but needs a reread option and more stories.

So we love this app so far! Im a big fan of the Choose Your Own Adventure series, along with similar ideas, and the stories in this app are very well thought-out and constructed. Im working our way through And The Sun Went Out currently. At first, we were very confused, but we’ve learned a lot more and we’ve gotten a lot more into it. We have a few suggestions: 1. Descriptions in the app. Theres a brief synopsis of each storya blurb, if you willin the app description here but not in the app itself. We find it annoying to have to go onto the App Store just to see what one of the storys is about. This is a function that should be added into the app. Part of the reason we were so confused originally was because we didnt read the story blurb in the App Store; we assumed there wasnt one because it isnt in the app. 2. Progress bar. We cant tell you how much Id love this. Itd be helpful to see how far along in the storys arc, along with the story as a whole. How far am we through this arc? How far am we through this story? How much of the mystery do we have left to solve? These would be very helpful in determining how we should go about reading them because not knowing how far through we are is very frustrating. Im aware one read-through wont include answers to every unsolved mystery, which is why Id love to know how much of the story we have left to figure out AND how long we much we have to read to complete our current storyline, if that makes sense. In general, multiple progress bars would be helpful. We understand thats hard for the incomplete stories, but And The Sun Went Out is completed, right? Thats also information that should be accessible on the app, whether or not a story is complete. We like getting tickets every 24 hours, and so long as we can get 3 tickets with ads, we really like the ticket setup as well. No complaints there. The stories seem to be well done (though a few typos here or there) and Im looking forward to reading more. There are a lot of ads though, so Id love an option to remove ads if we can get it, just because they can be very bothersome while reading. Otherwise, this is a great app. A progress bar is our main note to improve.

We wish there was an option to read in serif font. Id think this is a reasonable ask for a game that is intensive on reading.

We really enjoyed this book! We truly thought our choices made huge differences in the story. We loved that the romantic part of the storyline was inclusive of queer and aromantic people. We came to enjoy Moti, eventhough they felt like a distraction at first. We are looking forward to going through it again after we check out the other stories!

We’ve been playing this game slowly through the stories for the last few months. Recently they updated the app so every few sentences their is a long advertisement and it makes it sorta unplayable now.

We’ve played for about 5 minutes. The storys really interesting and the interface is fantastic. Only one issue, the ads. We understand every free game must have ads, thats not what bothers us. In the five minutes we’ve played, we’ve gotten 4 or 5 ads. Full screen ads which take about 15 seconds each. Fine theoretically, but the frequency of these ads is extremely obtrusive to the story and ruins any tension or atmosphere that it would otherwise have. If you can tolerate immersion-breaking ads almost every time you make a choice, Id recommend it. Otherwise, its a definite pass.
