Circulous is an episodic mystery narrative puzzle game. In this first-person game you take on the persona of Amanda Trouser. You have just been let go from your job. After packing your things, you wonder what you are going to do with the rest of your life. How will you afford your apartment? On the subway ride home you see an add for a job opening at Circulous…it’s almost as if the ad was put there just for you! You apply, and you end up hired!
That is only the beginning of the story. Your work at Circulous is exciting, but soon you realize there may be more to this company than you’ve ever imagined. Corporate espionage, conspiracy theories and moral dilemmas lead you through challenging puzzles that will test your wits, your allegiances, and what you think you know about…everything.

Clever, delightful puzzles in an engaging mystery storyline. This is weird, but we get the impression from the tone of the game that these devs are highly intelligent, but also fun to hang out with. Note that basic science literacy is helpful for solving some puzzles.
We paid for this game & we really like it a lot, however some of the puzzles are to hard for us.. Which is fine, but we would really love it if the developers would put helps for the second part of the game! They keep telling us what to do over email, but that takes months at a time, and by then we don’t even remember what we played! We can’t get on Discord it’s not so helpful to us.. Please please put the game hints on the game!
We are stuck on the part when the power goes out. We have no idea what to do.
We absolutely love this game, and its grown to be one of our favorites. When we got stuck in act 2, we emailed and we received some good help too! This game and everything that comes with it (the music ) is sososososososo good and we love this game to death! The puzzles arent too hard (until act 2) and its the right mix of clever and challenging.
We absolutely love this game so far. It is fun and holds our attention, which is hard due to severe ADHD. It is absolutely a 5-star game but Im hesitant to give it due to one issue. The issue is that Im now stuck at one point in the game due to it crashing. It crashes at the same spot for the past 24 hours (each time we try to open the message from the HR rep.) we really wish this would be fixed so we can continue to play.
We really enjoyed Act 1, but it appears we will have to wait 11 real-time hours to leave the coffee shop at the beginning of act 2 (and actually more like 23, since we wont be playing it first thing in the morning.) This seems like an awfully bad design choice.
A total waste of a dollar. Makes no sense even with clues.
We love this game but ever since we started act 2, we are stuck at the cafe. We have the ryde app downloaded but every time we try to go on the phone in the game and go to the virtual world, it crashes at the computer screens, and exits the game. We dont know what to do. Plus the ryde app says theres no routes available. One star because we dont know what to do ..
The Labs/Ryde crash was fixed, so our complaint was resolved. Therefore, with everything working, we are amending our rating from 4 to 5 stars. Great game. Thanks for the quick fix!
We loved the first chapter (hence 5 stars) and was super excited when we saw that there has been another added! However, we just started the second chapter, and every time we go into the invisible (?) space the screen crashes and takes us back to the main menu. When we press play again, Im back in the caf and have to start the scene again with the same results. Is this part of the game? Am we missing something?? If not there are some serious bugs that need ironed out with this new update. UPDATE: Thanks for the response! We have updated the game to the latest version, and am in the cafe, but when we try to book a Ryde to the hospital it says no routes can be found and to try again later??
As others have mentioned, we are stuck at the cafe at the beginning of Act 2. Ryde app doesnt appear on our phone. After entering that virtual world, the screen goes gray/freezes, we have to restart, and we end up in the same spot. The latest update did not fix this problem. Incidentally, we tried to report this separately on your website, but thats also buggy and wouldnt permit it.
This was fun until we hit those super irritating rotating wheels. We just dont have the patience.
We played the first episode a few weeks ago and loved it. There were some hiccups but we managed to work around the bugs like sudden crashes by restarting. The end of that episode was very abrupt and we wasnt sure if it was the real end or a crash. Now that episode II is out we were very excited but the bugs are back full force very early on. We know we need to leave the cafe via Ryde but it says there are no routes in the Ryde app. So Im stuck there and going into the shifty. Com sites also crash when Im at the alternate reality part. Trying to go back to the cafe now gives a blurry screen. T_T Guess we wait for future updates that fix these issues.
We would have given this game a 5 star rating after we played the first act, however, we just started ACT 2 and everything was going great until we got to the end of the shifty. Com part. Our game continues to crash when we try to enter shifty. Com/door/15 we believe is the answer but when we enter it the whole game crashes!!!! Its so frustrating. If you can fix this problem we will amend our review. Thanks.
Its a good game, but it crashes so often that its not playable. We were stuck at the end of act 1 for well over a month, because the game would repeatedly crash. Today, we were able to play for about 15 minutes and now its crashing repeatedly again at the shifty. Com part in act 2.
We bought the game earlier and theres already bugs. We cant access her mailbox. We started our game over and couldnt use the magnifying glass. We thought the developer would have fixed these by now since the games been out for awhile.
We played this earlier today in one sitting, we were enjoying it so much! We loved the puzzles and everything. It was fun watching the mystery slowly get solved. One thing that happened tho was that right at the part where J calls a ride for Amanda, it closed out. We considered thats where it ended but we tried to open it up again to play part two but it closed automatically again. So we started doing everything we could and nothing worked. We tried restarting our ipad, deleting it then re-downloading, and playing on a different device. Not sure what we did wrong or if its our save maybe. But still a wonderful game and such a good experience. It gave us sally face vibes and that is one of our favorite games!
Now the app just crashes when we open it.
We really love mystery and logic games like this! It is so fun to play, and it really makes you think sometimes! In the beginning of the game, when we were stuck, we always took a hint, but once you got in the shed the hints were over. Im not sure if that was intentional, but Im glad it happened because although we were stuck on some puzzles for a long time, we eventually was able to solve them and it felt far more satisfying than asking for a solution! Awesome game! And to be honest, the puzzles are not impossible like a lot of people seem to think. Sometimes it is helpful to take a break to have a fresh idea when you try again.
We love a good puzzle game, and Circulous didnt disappoint. The unusual interface options make the game all the more interesting, even if at times they feel less responsive than youd like. The story is linear, and unfortunately, it is over all too quickly. We played the first episode over a day, and the second in just about the same time. Now Im trying to be patient and wait for the next part of the story, but the lack of updates on the website is frustratinglet us know that the next section is in development or on the way, especially if you are going to promise regular updates. Glad to support the developer, and would recommend at this price… But be patient!
This is a great game, the quality of which is difficult to find. But its coming up on almost one year since we purchased what was billed as an episodic adventure, and its been updated once, six months ago. Im afraid we wont remember what the storyline is and it will be like starting over. Please follow through on your commitment to provide periodic episodes.
We come from the developers other game The Company, and all we can say is both of these are criminally underrated. We’ve never played anything like them and its so fun being able to jump into this world the developer has created. Its all so interconnected and these are some of the few games that actually make us think! It isnt too easy to be boring, but it also isnt too difficult to make you unmotivated. Great storyline and keeps you at the edge of your seat! Cant wait for the next update. 10/10 recommend this game, and check out The Company while youre at it!
This is a great game and obviously took a lot of effort to create so Ill still give it 3 stars. But the content released a couple months ago had a lot of bugs. We were able to play into the library (though we think that was a glitch too). But once we were in there, none of the features worked right (WiFi password wouldnt work, then all of a sudden the webview just started up on its own; books kept reproducing; no combo of books worked even though we had the right ones). And now that it seems those bugs are fixed and we should be able to play on, our inventory is locked up so we cant place the books at all. All the bugs take the fun out of the game play.
Im loving the gameplay and all the sounds and vibrations with it, but its frustrating how buggy the game is. We cant freely move from one screen to the next without either a 10 second wait time for it to catch up or a force close. It force closed 5 different times within the first 10 minutes. Game would be much more enjoyable if that wasnt the case.
Ugh. We actually like this game but we couldnt get through the decoding because it kept being a letter or two off at the end, so had to cheat. Now Im stuck!! We watched the surveillance video of our apartment, a second box was thrown through the window, but we cant click on it?? A bug is preventing us from going forward to the box puzzle :/ Ok, after restarting a few times we could finally click on the box. Had trouble clicking and dragging the magnet too. But seriously, there is no way to do this without hints/cheating. The mini games make no sense without directions and there is no way a majority of the people would ever recognize Morris code from a flashing stoplight. Kinda ridiculous and ruined the experience. We like challenging puzzles but a lot of them were so esoteric you couldnt solve your way out of it.
Froze a lot. Dont buy if you dont have computer skills!
We had the app shut down multiple times and its really slow on our iPhone XR. It shuts down completely and wont move beyond when shes picked up by the car after the lap so we cant finish the game at all. We are so bummed, we were really enjoying it despite the lagging in gameplay and shutting down! We hope its fixed soon! Will definitely rate higher if the technical issues can be fixed!
We played it with our dad and we had a lot of fun solving the puzzles we would recommend to anyone.
Unfortunately, after the most recent update, we havent been able to play it without it crashing when we turn the phone. Bummer because we really liked the game. We hope they get this fixed soon.
Thanks for the response re: the hints! We realized the issue we were having was with the (spoiler) sensitivity of the areas that some objects had the be placed in it took us a while to get them to go to the right spot, so you might want to tweak the sensitivity on the gardening equipment and the binoculars! Thanks a ton!
We like the game but very buggy. Currently it crashes everytime we turn it upright to get the cell phone to come up so we cant continue playing. We just upgraded to iOS 14.2 so maybe its not compatible?
Game is really fun so far. We appreciate that neat games are still being made that don’t rely on microtransactions. Has some bugs with iOS14 since Apple changed memory allocation, which makes the game hang and keeps the background music playing even after the game is exited. We’re sure the devs will iron all that out soon, and we’ll get to keep playing through!
Great game with a good backstory and challenging puzzles (some extremely challenging and obscure). We love that the developer provided a series of hints that did not simply provide the answer. And, that they were a series of escalating hints, first prompting you to look for certain clues and increasing in more hints along the way. Some that just jogged our memory for something we had seen before without having to get another hint. We like the mechanics of the Hance in that we could slide over to erase just the first few words and not reveal the whole hint. Sometimes that was plenty. We were surprised that the game suddenly stopped with a part two coming soon, but probably for the better so that we could get onto being more productive with our day. Ha ha. This game is addicting! We realized hours have gone by and we were still glued to our iPad. Cant wait for part two!

Umm the only problem with this game was we got obsessed and finished it way too fast. It was so fun, the interaction and the amount of ways you had to work in the game and your iPhone were so fun. Really a thinking game. Chapter 2 needs to come out like yesterday!
Fun game and want to continue playing… But the bird box is not working we’ve pressed the buttons the right amount of time and we’ve tried it tons of times but it just doesnt work!

Non-intuitive controls, and why in the world is it impossible to turn the music off?
It started out as intriguing and unique, but Im now at a point where its impossible to progress any further and feel like we wasted our money. We decoded the blank letters in the soar app and got a screen about nanograms, but it wont let us actually do anything. The other screen just asks whats our names. All of the hints and solutions under dark side and light side are locked. Then in the interceptor app, we read the solution and no matter how many times we type in aviary and flocking birds caged, nothing happens. We must have run into some bugs?? There are no further hints or solutions available and Im unable to go any further.
On the very first screen we read the computer messages and then place the items in the box. As soon as we place the last item (no matter which order we place them), the game crashes. No way to get past screen one. Waste of money.
We dont know how this game got high stars but thats the LAST time we spend money on ANY game! Its starts out ok. Takes some thinking but you can do it… Then a hint or two. Then it just becomes ridiculous! Do you know what a nomolid is? We dont but this game wants you to look it up (cause the link is broken) learn how to do it, then reverse apply it to another puzzle…. Excuse you? We kept going using ALL the hints but now Im at the point of… We have literally no earthy idea what to do…. No game should be this difficult. We thought maybe we need to work our brain more. NO! This is pure nonsense! Click on a box and lock something to rotate something so a piece can come out then another piece can slide HEADACHE! FRUSTRATING!! We wish we could get our $5 back!!
We bought this game because it promised monthly updates and added content. Nothing has been added and it has been well over a month. Hey developer, its better to under promise and over deliver than to over promise and under deliver. Youd be wise to save your money until you see if they actually add any updates. Right now, it feels like a giant money grab!

We just started playing and Im already addicted. So much fun! We have enjoyed Chain Reaction games so much and this game doesnt disappoint.
The creativity of this game and the puzzles are incredible. You can tell the developer really enjoys and has a passion for puzzle creating and solving. If things get tricky, the hints range from subtle to obvious depending on how much you want to know. The design within this game to bring up an in game phone and apps is so cool, useful, and responsive.
Good game to twist our brain with. So far the puzzles are more about observation of things that were shown earlier and crafty ways to use/look at them. Really like the different mechanics, they are surprising and fresh. Smalls things, like the screen stuck on one orientation even though its rotated, or the keyboard doesnt go away after typing so it blocks the next puzzle, or some other minor inconsistent behavior within a puzzle, could get a bit annoying after a couple of force closes. Oh and the hints pages for the spokes puzzle is wrong, that should be a quick fix.
Seriously amazing work. Circulous is challenging without being frustrating. Kept us occupied for weeks. Worth every penny!!
