Quickfire Rules:
A hand is made up of 10 cards. The aim is to combine cards into melds in order to achieve Gin or to have the lowest deadwood score at the end of a hand. A player wins a hand either by having Gin, or by having the lowest deadwood score when someone knocks. Face cards are worth 10 points and all other cards are worth their value.

We really really hate playing Gin where you can knock!!! It just takes the fun out of the game & you have to listen to so many more ads because knocking quite often ends the hand so fast. So thank you for creating this app with Straight Gin.

Played on another app for years got tired of having to buy token almost every month. Im playing hard and it seems competitive with our level, so we will continue to enjoy playing, Im a young 78.
Well, so far, the only ads that we see is for themselves to sell, you know stuff within their own game, which of course duh. But we havent had the middle of a game interrupted for an ad to be played or once were finally done with just one hand, they start another ad. We have not seen that as of yet but yet Ive only played Like a couple hands. We havent even played a full game yet.. But also what we like. Is they automatically give you upfront like we think four or five different types of decks game boards, color combinations, Card backings, etc. To choose from right at the beginning so thats cool so so far so good on loving it actually. Update, October 2025: Although they have remained being awesome for not having ads throughout their game or at the beginning or end or at any time theres no annoying ads the only ads that you see are their own ads and theyre just quick pop-ups and you can close them out. However something that has started to happen and has probably happened to us now seven or eight times in the last month to the point where this is no longer our go to App for playing Gin Rummy because it freezes a lot now. It has probably frozen on us like it is right now we cant play the game right now we just tried again, but its probably frozen. We mean 8 to 10 times in the last month so we dont know what the Hells going on all the sudden Ive of course its been updated. Our iOS has been updated to the latest. You know we have a virus scan we have Virus Protection you know theres done everything and then some for our due diligence on our end.
Excellent AI, this is the only gin rummy ive played that isnt easy to beat every time. And it is the only gin rummy with Hollywood scoring on the internet, which is how gin is scored at most clubs. We would have given it five stars if it had multiplayer mode or even if it tallied total final score with box bonuses (hands won), game bonuses, shutout bonuses, and if it multiplied final scores times a user-determined dollar value per point. Ill change our rating to 5 stars if we get either one.
We play a lot of Gin. This game abd tiger abd real card games. Statistics show this is the only tune we watch the house go GIN at second move – regularly, And regularly turn over the house turn over their last card which is the one we were waiting for. These plays could happen in any game, but never do as frequently as they do in GIN. Ill keep checking to see if hands are it longer prearranged.
The game is good but has a problem. If those of us with fat fingers inadvertently push the wrong button there is no way to recall the move. Discarding is so fast and there is no way to go back. When discarding there should be a way to recall your most recent move. We would add an extra star if that would be corrected.
We enjoy the game but its way to convenient that when Im winning and suddenly the AI gets everything that they need to win the next 5 rounds to win the game.
We do like the play. However, we do not like our cards to be sorted for us and we have no way to change them. We also do not like being forced to knock when we do want to go that route. We realize it is AI but we need to make our own decisions. Its not a challenge.
Great app of a classic game. Problem is if we knock before sorting we lose points. Honestly you cant fix that.
When AI player is dealt out repeatedly, it defies any real game where cards are shuffled.
Im a decent player, but Ive learned a trick or two here. Im about 50\50 on medium. Hard is really hard but is making us a better player. Graphics and colours are lovely. Fortunately Im using an M4 iPad and so far no hangups. Hey, wingers gonna winge. Try it and see for yourself. If you like playing Gin, you can do a lot worse.
This game is much better than the rest.
This is the first time Ive ever reviewed software. We wrote software for 30+ years so we decided not to say what we thought about other others work But the developer did a good job with this Ive been how many years now with never a hitch.
This one is the best because the other card games you need to earn coins in able to play. Its super annoying because we just want to play not gather stupid coins.
This is the first and only gin rummy game that seems to balance out the winning streak between us and the computer!! We have played a lot of these games and this one is the best of them all as far as equaling out the winners. Thank you developers.
We dont mind the game being programmed to follow a strategy. We do mind that the game keeps winning after just a draw or two, game after game. We do mind that we keep getting so many high cards consistently. We do ours that if we are sitting on a pair and throw one out, the game will immediately give us the third card. We were waiting for. The thing to remember is that you are playing against an opponent that knows every card in the stack and every card you have in your hand.
As long as the opponent doesnt consistently knock, its all good. And thats what we find with a lot of the other games. Nobody strategizes to reach GIN anymore! This one is better.
We like the simplicity of this game, despite it having good options about appearance and rules for play. We took off a star because in the year we've played, it seems set to limit us to 35% win rate and the AI will get aggressive to win at times, where we don't even play but a card or two before it knocks! That is just not "natural", nor is it fun. But other times, there is more normal (human-type) play that is more satisfying. Overall, we like this version best.

We suspect the difficult setting is set up to favor the AI player. We never seen anyone/anything get the hands that is consistently felt to the AI opponent.
Its pretty difficult to win a hand let alone the game when our opponent knocks or gins in two draws.
One of the better gin rummy games out today Just one thing we are not too fond of is getting cards we have discarded and the are not picked up by the AI but we still like it better Sometimes we cant believe how long Ive played we look at the phone and its almost ready to go off we charged it when we thing of playing it lol Thats for a very relaxing and sometimes stressful waiting for our came to come we love it.

This is the classic game that we've all loved growing up with. No distracting cartoon figures or sound effects, just the play of the cards. Enjoy.

When you play the top level the game is rigged. The AI gets cards dealt that would never happen randomly. Very annoying, ruins the game. We recommend finding a different gin rummy game.
This is a great and well designed gin game for all levels.
Im a kid in Clear Lake for a vacation with the family. We are staying in mobile homes of friends from Des Moines and Ames. There we learned to play this great game. This game plays well, but nothing will match the dialogue from 1967.

This is a fine version of the game. It has some options to play with. We wish we could organize our own melds, but we havent seen an option that lets us do that.
We like all the adjustments you can make & the ability to play an AI with three levels. But the deals in many cases arent random but very predictable. Many times the card drawn from the deck will be multiples of what the AI just discarded or vice versa. Or a card that you discarded shows up again several draws later. But that being said its the best gin rummy app available.
Theres nothing but a blank screw on this game and nothing we can see to do about it. Guess its time to download something else to play.
It used to be a great game to play. Ever since the update this game is not that enjoyable anymore. It crashes a lot now. Not too happy with this game anymore.

This app is so biased towards the computer its ridiculous!! Waste of time.
Played another rummy app without skill levels and it stopped being fun. This one allows you to learn the game and develop some skills.
Playing on intermediate, the AI knocks within 2 or 3 draws and always ends up with a 1 or 2. Incredibly frustrating and unrealistic play.
Love this, its very relaxing. It would be nice to have different colors.
We think most of these games cheat, though from time to time they change the algorithms.
