New format for a few days. Now all we get is a blank dark grey screen. Some up grade.
As of yesterday, we finished all the puzzles. While we dont know for sure how long Ive had the app, we know its provided us with hours and hours of fun and learning. We wish there was a way to refresh/start over with the puzzles or to download a new set of puzzles. We like that we can do as few or many puzzles whenever we want, not dependent on a daily puzzle delivery, and we like that there are options to check our work as we go. The app almost never froze. Would we download this again? Yes.
We especially like this crossword app. We find the easy level challenging enough. We do a crossword every day.
Too many proper names of British celebs no one in USA has heard of.

We love this game and play it most nights, but its one of the brightest apps on our phone with the white background. To reduce eye strain at night, we would request adding a dark mode option, or color options.
It is a very good puzzle. Thank to makers. The only problem we have encountered when the ad about Hacks starts, which freezes. We updated, still same problem.
The first game took a while to load and we played that game on the easy level to get accustomed to this app. We could not get a new game to load.
Really want this to work! Great puzzles and design! But con start crashing. If ad free version fixed this, great but dont want to buy and have continuously crashing during use. Update planned.
Your clean crosswords crashes with iOS 14.1. Pls correct so that its usable.
Free version has ads that take over the screen. You must either kill the app or open the advertisers website. Yes, it is only ? $4 to remove the ads, but why reward that behavior. The audio ads override our audio settings, so we must silence them each time. We wont be bullied into paying for the app. How many 1-star reviews can you take.
Whoever writes the puzzles doesnt work at getting words and letters to fit correctly. Its hard to read the clues. Not much of a crossword puzzle app.
There are so many errors in meaning in the clues – it really isnt enjoyable. Whoever is making up the clues really needs a good dictionary.
We love it and play at least once every day.
We are using the free version of the app. We love it. There were a few bugs in the dismissal of ads but they seem to have been fixed. We find some of the difficult puzzles to be challenging, which is good. We do find we disagree with some of the solutions versus the clues but that could just be that we learned from a different dictionary than the one used to develop the puzzle. We hope theres more puzzles lined up for when we finish the first set.
We love the puzzles, but have difficulty with the British spelling of words and with British actors names.
We like the format of this crossword puzzle with the clues being on the puzzle. We play it often. Please developer let us choose the zoom or be able to revert from the latest update. We want to see more of the crossword puzzle and not have to scroll up and down due to the current zoom.
Ive enjoyed this crossword app with one minor problem. When we finish a puzzle we like to review it. With this app the puzzle disappears and we cant revive it. It does reappear occasionally but we dont know why. We would appreciate some help with this.
Been away from crossword puzzles for quite awhile. The easy puzzles are great to remind us how to figure out the answers and graduating to each level really builds your confidence.
Error button!!! Why? Too many English words for America English! Doesn't set up for a new puzzle when your done, even though there are no errors! Doesn't skip completed words. Clunky navigation. Easy is childish, med is elementary, & hard is sophomoric.
This is a fair app with a few problems. On occasion the arrows pointing from clues are wrong. Not all sequences of letters spell words like a classic crossword. Also, British spelling and words are used making it a bigger challenge for those not familiar with British English.
We love this app; great offline when Im in areas w/o internet connection. We work as a bail recovery agent & it helps kill the time while we wait. Thanks! Keep up the great job.
Love the European flair to the puzzles. Great pastime, but how do we replay all the puzzles after we have finished all three categories?? Would love to be able to download again and start over.
We like the way this is set up with the clues right in the puzzle, and it's challenging enough that we have to look up some of the answers (or cheat with the letter and word solver). We also like the ability to check if what you've done so far is correct. Our one complaint is the app crashes quite often, and we lose as much as half of what we've done. That can be very frustrating if you're on a roll and solved a large portion of the puzzle.
This wonderful app certainly comes from Britain. To succeed you must know words common in the UK and not outside there. Such as bloke and chap. Very entertaining. Recommended.
We always play the Easy choice and it is quick and fun. Most of the word challenges are doable without assistance. We recommend this App for a lovely escape into the world of words.

We like the challenge at different levels and different spellings both American and British English. The subject variety from mythology, to culture, to technical terms etc. Adds fun, enlightenment, memory skill, vocabulary and knowledge. If you like crosswords you will enjoy this app.
Favorite thing, word games. Yay! Fabu! Makes us realize how different our language is from the U.K. Love Love Love.
We really enjoy this app. It is user friendly & easy to play. Some words are easy & some are challenging. We like the combination because it keeps us interested. And if we get stuck, we know we can always use the help button. We do our best to figure out the word before we use the help button. But either way, we learn. Its a win/win! Thanks.

Love your app. Especially like that we can play it on our iPad in landscape mode. However, you currently have an ad popping up for Hotspot Shield which locks up at about 20% through & requires us to turn off our iPad completely to get it to leave the screen. We would appreciate your addressing this problem. Thanks.
We would give it a higher rating if things stayed as you entered them! Having given answers, then checking them after we finish, the letters we inserted HAVE CHANGED!!! This is quite frustrating as we do enjoy crossword puzzles, but we will not buy any more unless this quirk is corrected! UPDATE: This just gets worse and worse! We would have gotten perfect scores if the letters didnt keep changing! Please update and fix this annoying quirk! We really like puzzles and this one would be great if you fixed it.
Simple design, easy to use – whats not to like.
We love the way the hints are built into the design instead of a list off to the side. We hate that it got stuck with Easy at 34 solved and the 34th puzzle is complete but it wont move past it. Tried deleting answers and reenteringit will give us the 100% complete pop up but main screen still shows it as 100% complete and when you click to solve puzzle it keeps showing the completed puzzle. It did it on the medium and hard later on so we deleted the app and reinstalled, we got med and difficult back but not easy. Tried to contact developer but ended up never finding a link. Sorry to have to post problem here. FYI we paid the $3.99 for ad-free version.

This is app is great. We are a crossword lover and Clean Crossword is everything a crossword lover could ask for! We especially like that we dont have to wait until the next day to work another crossword. And it doesnt require any MONEY! Yay.

We love this game! When we first downloaded it we thought we would never get through all the puzzles. This game is so addictive. We have played it for hours on end. It is fun and challenging! We are ready for the next round. Great game.
Challenging puzzles, easy to use.
The Clean Crossword Puzzles always are there, waiting for us to begin solving. They offer an opportunity for us to get off the world and escape, at our own timing, into the Land of Words and Memories of our world travels and episodes in literature. The puzzles are challenging enough but also solvable for a non-expert, and we like it that we can take our time and not feel caught up in a timed exercise unless we choose to. We often look up words that are new to us, hence we constantly add new words to our vocabulary. In This World, we joyfully experience relaxed interaction with words.
Quick and easy. Mostly useful words for developing quick recall, though a small ratio are uncommon to Americans and would best be eliminated.
A constant source of delight for its streamlined design and difficult setting, which calls on vocabulary you never knew you had. Be warned that plenty of localisms pop up, from soccer stars to labor organizations to news broadcasters, which are common knowledge if you happen to live in the United Kingdom; otherwise, not. To be fair, there is plenty of Americana to balance the scale, as well as tidbits from nearly everywhere else in the world.
Apparently from England since lots of English local or colloquial words, but it is all good.
To date, this app has been enjoyable. The new ads for Linkdin and Hulu are freezing the screen. The only way to get rid of them is to delete the app and reopen. Annoying.
