Dive into Codex of Victory

Human society has been divided. On one side, the natural course of human evolution has been disrupted. What started as an attempt to adapt to the harsh conditions of outer space and hostile planets, led to the creation of a weird race of transhuman cyborgs – the Augments. Driven by a desire to ‘liberate’ ordinary humans from the limitations of their wholly organic bodies, the Augments have launched a full-scale attack. Now we must defend our territory and fight back, to save our Kingdoms and all of humanity as we know it!

Codex of Victory features an extensive story-driven, single-player campaign that tasks you with building and commanding a hi-tech army of drone vehicles, tanks and robots. The campaign offers an exciting mix of real-time base building, global strategic planning and turn-based combat. Travelling between planets and territories, your sole task is to stop the Augments.

Inspired by classics of the strategy genre, the base building element involves expanding your underground HQ in real-time. Collect room blueprints, build factories, research centers, workshops, laboratories and other facilities, to prepare for battles ahead. Global tactical oversight comes from your Planetary map, on which you’ll instantly see where your armies need to be deployed.

Engage in tactical turn-based combat on hex-mapped battlefields. Select your units and upgrades, deploy them to the battlefield using the terrain to your advantage and test your tactical skills in each mission. As you progress through the battles of the main storyline and the various randomly-generated side missions, you’ll gain access to over 25 units. Each type of unit comes in countless variations, thanks to a diverse range of upgrades and add-on modules. Build your best and put them to the test against the incoming Augments!

Features:

  • Exciting combination of turn-based combat and real-time base building
  • 20+ hours of story-based singleplayer campaign
  • 25+ unique units, each with countless variations
  • High replay value ensured by randomly generated campaign missions
  • Neo-feudal sci-fi environment with vivid, cel-shaded graphics

System requirements:

  • 1GB RAM or more
  • iOS 9 or newer

Find out what gamers are saying about Codex of Victory:

Excellent hex turn based strategy game in the style of old Nectaris, with a LOONG single player campaign and a story that starts out Dune then takes a sudden turn to become Star Trek: Voyager. (Nectaris is like Great Little War, but in space.) Having just finished it on Normal, we can say its definitely worth the couple of dollars. Theres a good variety of units and maps, lots of unit customization options and the story makes the focus of the game change frequently, so you never have time to relax and get bored. The only gripes we have are: we bit of rough translation in the dialogue. The controls can get a bit rough when the isometric view overlaps with buttons/targets, so you have to be VERY careful and zoom to move them. The main currency trickles in so slowly and is used in so many activities that all other resources pile up and become unusable and youre forced to do a lot more grinding of defense levels while it collects. Those defense missions do get a bit repetitive after a while. The AI can be REALLY dumb ignoring flying units sneaking through to snipe its HQ. Sometimes moving 1HP units around the map, especially to capture a city makes them inexplicably explode. Are there land mines? Potholes? Thumb tacks?? So you have to reset and use a more durable unit for not reason. When clearing a planet you have to be VERY careful not to tap on another planets province, even just to check the travel time, as this instantly takes your ship back into orbit and takes many hours to get back to where you were a second ago. So its better to clear a planet fully and lose a few provinces on another planet than try to hop between planets to defend them. Other than that, its a fantastic game.

War of attrition. While that is a type of strategy, its tedious and boring. Game continually shows things you cant do until next turn. Shouldnt be designed like that that we can see.

The tutorial includes things like click with your mouse on the first screen. And gives so little info on how to play that one cannot even complete the tutorial.

Instead of just telling you what to do. How do we get a unit to move or attack an enemy? You tell us WHAT to do, you just dont tell us HOW to do it.

We really enjoyed playing this game. It’s not always intuitive but very fun once you get the hang of it and, most importantly, no IAPs!

We applaud these developers for not only making an amazing tactical game, but also not burying the experience in in-app purchases and keeping the balance perfect. Support these developers, not just because they made an excellent game, but because they respected you as consumers by pricing their app fairly and letting mobile users play a real game for a change. Bravo, seriously. Can’t wait to finish this one and play what comes next.

The game is well balanced in the sense that you can’t just rush the enemy with units and have to fight smart. That being said it is frustrating trying to figure out the correct strategy for fighting the often larger and better equipped forces. However, the game is very kind in this aspect and is generous with redoing levels with no repercussions. In summary, this is pay and play game that is definitely worth the price tag.

Thank you for fixing this game in your recent update… It is in fact an amazing game now and anyone who plays it will definitely enjoy it… Go buy it now :D.

Loved this game. One price point, no in app purchases, no massive difficulty curve, everything can be accomplished with patience and good tactics. Good story, mechanics and graphics. Loved it. We want more!!! On a side note: playing on the iphone 7 and we have expieranced zero crashes.

To start, this is a very dynamic game that combines resource/facility management with turn based game functions. It’s a unique game that we haven’t seen yet on the App Store. We have only had this game for a couple days and so far it is worth the $4. The only thing we want to see fixed is that this game takes up 2.2gigs of space on our phone, which is over 1/6 of our storage. We know this game has a lot of content but if you could compress this game a little, that would be great!!! Thanks and it’s worth the buy!!! 6/20/17 Two days after we posted this review, they actually compressed the game size and we want to thank them for speedily updating their app!!! The game still takes up a decent chunk of memory but now it’s reasonable. The devs managed to cut the memory in half!!! Keep up the great work!!! This game continues to get better and better for us. Thanks again.

We’ve been playing for 6 hours, it’s so fun game. Reminds us x-com or command and conquer!

We like the idea so far, but can’t rate highly as the game crashes every time at the Chancellorship mission which is only the third mission in the game. Edit: a developer that pays attention to its customers! No longer crashes. Good game.

We will update our review if the developer updates this game for resolve crashes. Fixed This game crashes after the finishing the third level, only 10-15 minutes of playing. If the game gets fixed we’re sure that it will be right up there with robust TBS games like XCom. Still playing after the update, but wonderful so far :)

Overall a really good turn based game. However, it would be nice if upon completing the campaign, you could still do battles with your built up army. Currently, once the campaign is over, you can still build and interact with the base. However, there is no way to use your units b/c there are no battles. If the developers could add an arena like system or randomly generated battles after completion of the campaign, this game would be golden.

We like this game. Based on its iOs reviews and Steam reviews we’re not surprised. It took us a couple of tries before we got it, but then we couldn’t put it down. The graphics are great, except for the unit graphics. They are not even close the the rest of the graphics in the game. Our only suggestions are, a better tutorial (unless we’re really dense), and better unit graphics. (I know it can be done, because we’ve seen it in other games).

No IAP!!! Great graphics (2.5D styled). Short yet intriguing storyline. Steampunk – post apocalypse – futuristic style. It worth every cent. Will change to 5 star if there were random mission after the main storyline. (Please do this for casual commuter players, thanks) It’s definitely one of the best iOS game. Kudos to the developer!

The game was great. Good graphics. We loved the upgrade system, but it was too short. There were only two chapters that were kind of repetitive. We did not have time to fully upgrade anything because the game was over so quickly. To us, it was not worth the money. 4$ was too much. It has a ton of potential, but like we said, way too short.

The game is built towards the numerical advantage not tactics. The enemy is a endless swarm that you have to eliminate quickly and often at close range. That way they can always counterattack and kill your unit. They enemy even has better versions of your units. Fully upgraded to deal more damage or have shields to prevent a attack. The is even a mission where the enemy hides artillery behind a wall not only shooting you at range but also getting a free counterattack on you every time you attack anything. And that’s just the first act by the second this problem remains but the enemy also gains units to steal yours. What’s worse is there is no cloud backup despite Game Center login. So if deleted out of frustration or boredom your save is gone and you have to start all over.

"Click to continue" "Select your tank with a left mouse click, then drag or click, …" Really?

Love the strategy. Great Graphics, and gameplay. Worth it.

We’ve had no crashes thus far. Nice looking strategy game. Pretty fun. The AP mechanic is a bit odd, but it may work ok in the long run. We’ll see.

This is a premium game that is a no-brander at $3! No IAP seen thus far. Tiny porting Tex things like "click left mouse button" just mean tap. Seriously. This game is deep, fun, gorgeous… Why am we still writing?! Gotta go back and play!

One thing we dislike about strategy games on the phone is that they don’t often marry good controls with satisfying and engaging combat. Not this one! We’ve only played a few levels thus far, but the turn based system is great for mobile games and the base building mechanic, not dissimilar to XCOM or Fallout Shelter, is compelling as well. It looks fairly nice and sounds are fitting as well. You don’t have too many games like this on mobile any more, so we are happy to support them.

It takes a bit to start getting going but this is a great strategy game! You will not regret getting this…

Great strategy game that starts with funny and useful tutorial showing u the basics and mechanics. Def killer game with tons of missions and upgrading your troops. We would revise to 5 stars rating, please add iCloud synch.

But please fix for iPad mini, it crashes at start up story line. It plays good on our iPhone 5c and gameplay is good but would like to be able to play this on our iPad mini.

Most phones won’t be able to fit that. Check your space before you blow the money.

But it doesn’t work past the 10-turn Baron mission (which is about the third mission), always crashes at the end, have to start over.

It’s fun, but not worth the price. Also, the first desert mission is absolutely impossible with all the heavy tanks and hackers the enemy starts out with.

AP is the cost of everything you do, we’re surprised the game doesn’t make you spend AP on your units just to breath with everything else it uses it for.

This game is a fun strategy game with a decent premise. However functionally it should not even be released especially for a pay once and play game. The bug on the chancellors ship mission needs to be fixed. Once we can play this game with out fear of sudden crashing. We will revise our review.

Don’t buy this until they fix the Chancellor mission completion crash. We can’t really rate the gameplay because the game is unplayable after 10 minutes.

Game crashes after every victory screen. I’d like to be able to play the game we paid for and not lose progress and waste our time.
