This Is Nice So That We Don’t Always Have Ones
"I love this game. It challenges your mind to try to think of new words. There are some level that are nice and easy and some that are challenging. This is nice so that we don’t always have ones to easy or to hard. My only problem is the ads. There not so frequent that it’s annoying, but there long and usually unskippable. If you can make the ads shorter and skippable, It would be more fun. All in all, 9.9/10<3 <3 <3", Addison says.

2023 Edit to review: I have been playing since early 2019. Literally overnight, this game has become riddled with ads. Ads that have 2 timers, and if you click on one, the ad freezes, but the other timer goes on forever, and you have to log out and come back in again. It is a shame that the ads have been introduced at such a hectic rate. It ruins the fun and actually makes me not want to play anymore. It is interesting. It uses real words. It has plenty of incentive rewards.

I like how they made so much more out of a crosswords puzzle. Side quests and all. The prompts to buy Premium features are relatively unintrusive, so if you want to play the free version, it doesn’t pressure you too much to buy stuff. Plus it expands your vocabulary, with a dictionary to look up words you don’t know. I’m enjoying this quite a lot.

Clean interface and great, simple game concept. I especially appreciate that there’s an option to buy the game and remove all adds. $10 does seem like quite a bit for that, but I’m only a handful of levels in, and I decided to invest and see what they have in store for me. It’s even more pleasant now without adds. Thank you!

When you get 3 stars on your daily puzzle, it will only give you one or two. The same for any event rewards. Also, it is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to get butterflies from events unless you play for hours on end.”

H.: The fact that I can play this without internet & the beautiful background vistas and color highlights are what make this my all time favorite game app. Also, 5 stars because this game is very stable and has only crashed on me once in 2 years. The new animal part of the game is fun, but the frequent changes keep deleting progress on the different animal levels. New word combos are needed, the same 5 & 6 combos are stale. However, it’s entertaining & relaxing. Just needs a fix on daily game stars.
Felivino: Its fun, ive been playing for a while now, maybe about a year or so. The ads were annoying but, its a free game and i could afford to pay for the ads to go away, even then for me they only popped up every other level. Only thing i wish is that there were more events and things to cycle through the week. Overall its a good game

The different environment themselves are the best plus the relaxing music and sound effects. Great for right before bed. Play a little to make sure you like it but it’s TOTALLY worth paying for the add-free experience. (Developers deserve to make a living) I’ve found the support folks to be very responsive and helpful any time I buy a new device and need to transfer my game data. I haven’t seen any of the issues others are reporting. Great game! Love the extras like wildlife, binoculars, team tourney.
Aurèle: Updated: they finally fixed the pace at which I get butterflies and it’s so much better! Thank you. Previous: I like everything except the butterfly game, which is so frustrating! It used to take me 4 to 5 games to hatch a butterfly, and now, it takes over 80 cocoons (probably 25 games or so, which is probably an hour of nonstop playing) to get 1 butterfly, and I barely make any progress! I wish the developers did something to revert this. It’s really making the whole thing so frustrating.
A Google user: I really like this word game. It can be challenging which is what I love about games. If you get stuck, you can watch a video to get some extra coins for free, for a hint of a letter to help you figure out what the word is. I’ve definitely been hooked, haven’t played that long and I’m almost to level 2000. Love it!
That’s what she said. Literally.: This game is very intriguing and a great way to pass idle time. Because the premise is based on words, you never reach a level that is just too complicated to pass and quit, as I’ve experienced with other game apps. Lol…
J S: A good way to relax and pass a bit of time. I’m not obsessional with games and actually have very few on my phone, I just like something to relax with and make me think without over doing it. Yes there are ads but I don’t find them over bearing apart from the odd one. My missus loves the butterflies and the wildlife so we’re both happy. AND the player support has been marvellous helping me keep my progress when I changed phone.

I’ve been playing this game for a couple of years, and 3 times the app has crashed and I lost my coins. Fortunately, they recovered my stuff. This time it crashed I lost my coins, sunshine, animals, and it brought me back to the beginning. Now, they want a screenshot of what I had. How? It wouldn’t open. 😡😡
Mason Solo McFly: Wordscapes is a great word puzzle game that helps your mind every time you play it. And despite how it’s advertised in other games and the experience with ads popping up every time a level is completed or you open up your phone after leaving it on standby, this game also combines the cute feature of interacting with virtual pets to earn rewards that help you along the way. All in all, I think Wordscapes is a fun puzzle game with a great interactive virtual pet feature.
Marilyn Dorn: I like the game it uses spoken language. The ads a problem as they linger after their time is up. And I have to go out of the app and let the game reload. Very time consuming, very tiring. Good Volvo ad though.

However, I was later charged additional $12.99 for a ‘mega bundle’ to buy points which I never approved. 5 stars for wordscapes customer service for fixing the issue within one day. Con Traktor: Fun little word game. Good for quick bits or long stretches. Hardly ever crashes or bugs out. Ignore the complaints about the ads, these people are seriously exaggerating. They aren’t that frequent and you only have to wait 5 seconds to skip (it’s a free game, what did you expect? You can just purchase the no ad option too…) Also y’all should add the word “Eid”. Thanx.
Rebecca Walsh: Support team goes out of their way to accommodate problems when they occur. The team and individual tournaments are a fun way to get to meet people virtually. During the week there are plenty of fun Rewards-challenges to fill those hours of boredom. Highly reccomend this game for its cognitive stimulation and the relationships that develop once you find a team that fits you as they have a team chat option, highly recommend using it!
Barbara Mastro: Been playing for over 5 years level 16,442, glitches began to happen, tournaments and challenges were not coming up. Uninstalled app then reinstalled..now I lost 17,000 coins and all my portraits and achievements gone..and the annoying NON STOP ads. Update: the team fixed all the above issues I was having! Much better now!
Joseph Riley: I love this game but forget about all these side things….you have to play literally thousands of levels to complete one. Also if you want to casually play the weekends are off limts because they basically force you into some tourney competition for a crown and ranking. If you want a casual game and you dont mind the frustration of trying to finish the side games then its great. But if you like to complete quests then you should be prepared to play thousands of levels.
Stephen Childs: This is a really good game based on English understanding or comprehension. Every answer is legit, but sometimes it feels like the words are off from the standard. I suppose that’s the fun of it. Plurals can be random answers. TBH, is my favorite game on Android.
Kids Peterson: Amazing game. I would recommend however, there is a lot of ads. I suggest buying the ad blocker thing on it to get rid of them. Allison Vetter: This is a fun and challenging game!! The new addition of the animals is pretty cool as well. If you want a game that makes you think this is a great one. Even my mom plays it and she is way further than me, I am almost to level 1000 she is over 5000!! I suggest logging in with your Facebook to get more challenges and perks!
R D: The game has many computer glitches that CAN NOT be fully fixed. I have played this game for YEARS and have experienced the frustration of working really hard to get a high score and reach a certain level only to lose some of that progress. I have lost control over SEVERAL teams I created. I lost levels, points, $. Currently there is a glitch with the daily puzzle. I have contacted customer service, home office, developers, etc.

What I definitely don’t like is when you can’t figure out that last word, no clues are given, the game cannot be completed and the player never gets the missing word and therefore cannot go on to the next level. I think the player should be able to continue however points should be lost and because of the curiosity of the player, the missing word should be told to us after; we are here to learn as well as enjoy! Jo Jo: Love the game and I’m on a terrific team which IMO, makes a huge difference. Has some ads but the amount is acceptable and I appreciate that the game is free. Graphics are… Relaxing and vivid and though it’s somewhat easy there are some pretty good challenges as well. I would, for sure, recommend!
Dolores Novak: I was winning a tournament and the game started going blank. It kept doing it so I uninstalled and reinstalled it. It took me back to the very beginning that I started with months ago! Three letters! My brilliance was over 1,000,000! Now I have a 2! Been in contact with support through email and through game. No help there either. Support finally fixed my game. I got back everything I had lost! It is finally working very well now!
andy crook: Nice game….level 1562 has an issue that I have not noticed untill I use one of my “boosts”…the bottom word has a square that is hard to see because of the background image of a cloud: the square is white and the cloud is white. Got to look closely to see it. Was stuck on that word for a long time……many issues ahead I guess
Natasha Bliss: It’s been really good because it’s been helping my child and it helped my child to learn more words and spell more words it’s been great and I’ve loved using this app I would rate it five out of five as it is extremely helpful for children who find work hard and have have stuff that they find charred like spelling it’s also extremely good for like learning new words it got a good impact it has easier levels bad levels at hard levels and increases every time you learn something new it gets harder
Roger Sirek: Early levels are easy, but it becomes very challenging. The tournaments are fun and rewards are great. The daily challenges are a fun twist and I enjoy the landscapes and the portrait photos. Great game that isn’t mind-numbingly simple.

I did find the ads annoying and believe the comparitively small sum for become ad free is well worth it which I did. Keep it up.. Its a shame all the low stars come first in the reviews with complaints about ads…

I really like this game it’s absolutely one of my favorites! They just put in-game play ads that pop out of nowhere where you’re in the middle of spelling a word! Change this, and I’ll change my rating. This just started and I’ve been on this game for years!

However, I just did the May 2023 update (because it wouldn’t let me play unless I did) & now it is in a loop, with no playing. I would really like to play again – this is not how I envisioned leaving this game!

Damon McMullen: I was quitting playing this game after 4 years because of your new ad breaks in the middle of my games. The old ads were fine. I refused to play something that constantly interrupted me when I was in the middle of a game. I would’ve given 0 stars if I could. I mean, c’mon, don’t interrupt a game. UPDATE: Ads stopped interrupting my game. 5 stars again.
Sharon Sayre: Wordscapes or WS, is I think, the best word game I’ve found. You get from 3 to 7 letters in a circle, to form words to fill in the grids in what looks to be a fill it in game. It also has games within games. If you wish you can join a team and play in weekend tourneys. As grows has bugs, but support is on it! Helps build word base, meet people all over the world. Be sure to pay the 1 time fee $5.99 to go ad free. Otherwise you’ll get frustrated with the delays between puzzles, and go slower.
Guy Hewer: I have just noticed that ads are now tending to load when you are in the middle of a game, this is annoying and frustrating, if this keeps up, I will uninstall the app otherwise I am really enjoying this app, the different challenges during the week and tourney over the weekend are just brilliant. P Jg: I love the game, and have played since before shutdown. Addressing ads; while they are distracting I recognize if we have no ads we have no games. I will take the ads. When ads appear I can simply check other areas of my phone and return after ads. Sometimes I switch games and the ads cease for a bit.
AllieGator Playz: This game is great! It is very addicting. I dont know if all the possible words are added or not but on level 20 i typed shea like shea butter. And it didnt count it as a bonus word. It is in the dictionary so it should have counted. But theres no problem! I love this game!!!!
Jacquelyn Embree: I call this “the word game” and played on my Fiancés phone with him at bed time for months. Playing this game together is how we figured out I am dyslexic. Had to delete it for a bit cause it hit me pretty hard, but here I am again. Good game. Fun and makes you feel smart. I think it also helps with your knowledge of words and spelling.

It has just the right amount of ads, game is fun and challenging, really addictive, and if you don’t know what a word means in the crossword, you can tap the little book with the letter “A” in the top left on the screen and it will show you the definition of all of the words you have found. Beckey Gregory: I play this every day. One complaint – the keto gummy ads picturing Oprah and/or shark tank. These ads are a scam. Oprah never endorses these kinds of products and these gummies have never been on shark tank. The only thing I believe is that Dr Oz is pictured endorsing. What a joke, and Wordscapes won’t remove the ads, too much money I guess. I’ve brought these to their attention several times, no response

Michael Martin: You need to fix you daily challenge accumulater. Pretty simple to add things. You do the challenge and don’t get the points. It can’t be that difficult to fix. Obviously this game is not that important. I would suggest people play something else.
Irfan Farooqui: Game is excellent spend lot of time playing it. Only irritates me is ads too many ads and some of it can’t be skip you have to close the app to rid of it.
Amanda McElroy: I stand by my 5 Stars for content and easy fun. Recently however the game has started freezing on a black screen when I transition from active play to the main screen. I need to exit the app completely and restart to get it to work again. Makes playing the tournaments impossible (and frustrating).

Allen Porter: Been playing for about two years now. It’s a solid game that is continually updated and tweaked. There are a lot of extra “goals” you can choose to complete or not. Ads were annoying at first but after playing for a bit and deciding to stick with the game all I had to do was make 1 payment to remove them permanently, which is a model I will always approve of. There are microtransactions but it isn’t a pay to win deal… Just a casual fun word game.
Julie Fandrich: This is a fun game and I like to play it when I have a few minutes in-between going places like for example after school I might have a few minutes before going to a friend’s birthday party. If you’re smart you can earn a lot of coins quickly. It’s fun and I like to play it with my parents and my sister to and sometimes even my dog gets excited when were all playing!

There’s also a team tourney, there’s a team and a single tourney. I definitely recommend downloading this app 😄

Collecting different wildlife that hatch from eggs, each offer different helps, plus the team tournaments and team chat are some of the unique things about WS. Teams are a choice. You can play on your own. The backgrounds are attractive and change often. I rec. that you use the paid version. It’s worth a few bucks to play without interruption.
Wepiha Te Ata: The daily challenge cheats you out of stars. If you successfully collect three stars, you miss out on one and it only counts two. Every single three star completion on the daily challenge only gives you two maximum.
TierMax XODIUS: The ads are not intrusive at all, contrary to the comments. I really enjoy this game, as it is something to get your brain going on the bus or just something to do at home when your bored. There’s just something about this kind of game that hooks you, and the calming music only helps this game even more.

Casey Clements: I don’t buy mobile games. I detest pay to play. I found out within the first 20 levels of this game that the ads were really bothering me because they interrupted my flow. By level 50 I couldn’t stand the ads anymore and just bought the game. That’s when the fun skyrocketed. I’ve been playing daily for a long time now. I’ve played over 1200 puzzles and I’m loving every minute of it. If you like word puzzles check this one out. This is the only mobile game I can recommend purchasing.
