This is such a relaxing and mentally stimulating game at the same time. The movements are so natural and the lovely soundtrack prevents the game from ever becoming too frustrating. This game is so simple yet so complex!
The music, simple black and white colors, and the simple yet critical thinking game all come together for a great and beautiful game. We’re surprised it isn’t more popular. It’s definitely worth the 99 cents.
This game never got the recognition it deserved… If it did, they would have likely made many expansions like Cut the Rope. This game is very much on par, and better in many ways.
The trick is to complete each puzzle with maximum points on the first shot. Totally doable but requires strategic analysis. A very satisfying experience with a chill vibe.

The game mechanics are simple, but the solutions to a level can be tricky. There’s a bit of creativity needed. This is a fun game when you have a few minutes to spare; recommended.

The bubble ads that take a lot of space of the menu ruin the style of the game. At least you guys can have a "More Games" button, or something. But overall, an amazing game!
Excellent gameplay and concept, beautiful limbo-esque graphics and brilliant sound make a great all-around game. Touch controls on ground manipulations can be frustrating sometimes, but doesnt really detract from its finer points. 4.5 stars.
The ads other users complained about have been removed. Contre Jour strikes a good balance between simplicity and complexity. There are only a few game mechanics, yet the levels are cleverly designed to combine them in inventive ways. Includes many levels. We’ve played through 4 of 5 worlds and it hasn’t stagnated or worn out its welcome. Recommended.

Although the controls can be frustrating, Contre Jour is a stunning game with beautiful music. It falls into the "collect 3 things before reaching the exit" genre but does it with more style than most. Unfortunately this will probably be the last Chillingo game we purchase. The ads are intrusive and ruin the game’s aesthetic. Not in a game we PAID for, please.
We really love this game, so when the iOS update came out & Contre Jour wasn’t compatible, we were pretty disappointed. Fast forward to now, when we find it working again but there are these extremely annoying and intrusive bubble ads covering the screen. WTH? Usually we pay money for games because we DON’T want that kind of crap. Please fix!
This game will always be a favorite of ours and was one of our first games on the appstore. Pls look at the reviews here. People hate ur bubbles! This game will die if u dont take them out! Pls what u done is taken a beautiful, amazing, magical experience and destroyed it with ur adverts. Whos stupid idea was that?

Paid for this awhile back got stuck and quit playing it. Went back to play only to discover that some update inserted some stupidly annoying ‘ad bubbles’!?! Sorry but you can definitely be assured we WON’T be buying anymore of your products when you pull stupid stuff like that. Weak.
We purchased the iPhone version on our phone and then wanted to play it on our iPad but it crashes all the time -Ugh!!! Please fix this problem or we’ll delete this fun game.

Honestly. Best puzzle game ever played! We’re usually not one for puzzle games. But we saw this while browsing through the Apps Hall of Fame, and it looked interesting so we checked the reviews (I always do!) and downloaded it. Then we had to force myself to stop playing Contre Jour just to write this review, which might give you an idea of how ADDICTING Contre Jour is. Every aspect of the game works well with other aspects to create a truly splendid, immersive experience. Silky smooth controls, immersive gameplay, ethereal graphics, and a superb soundtrack make Contre Jour a must-have on your iDevice! As someone else said the black and white color scheme is wonderfully smooth and polished, and the blue glows finish off the scene perfectly. And, the depth of this game is astounding…. It appears to be simple but it is amazingly deep. Overall we can’t find any faults in this title. This is just the perfect go-to game anytime , anywhere. Devs, you deserve the five star reviews! And people, honestly we don’t get the 1-3 ratings. We mean, we respect your opinion and all but 1 star-3 star reviews because it’s not optimized for iPhone/iTouch 5, that’s just outrageous and childish, it at least deserves four stars! The devs are working on optimizations for iPhone/iTouch 5. Go Chillingo! Also, Chillingo if you could add an endless mode to this game it would be just fantastic. This game is really fun and pretty challenging! Really makes you use that brain of yours. And we don’t see how some reviews on here say that some levels have impossible odds to get a perfect on every level. We’ve played about 45 levels and have been able to get a perfect. Definitely worth it. We will say though that at times your fingers get too close trying to multiple things at once that it won’t register sometimes. We really love this game though!!!
Purchased it just because the art looks cool, the game is sooooo much fun though. Challenging but not so challenging that it feels impossible at times.

Not many game make us feel the way we do when playing Contre Jour. With amazing art style, unique and clever gameplay, and downright beautiful music, Contre Jour truely makes us feel like we’re playing something special.
We’re not sure we understand it, and we have no idea where to get an explanation. It’s not all that responsive to our touch screen either. The music is cool, though and the little creature it amusing.
Being on tour traveling the country months and months out of the year this game Has brought us the ability to be able to relax when we need to , help us calm down and go to bed after a long days work even though you’re still wired from the Adrenaline from the shows, it’s the most beautiful and calming game visually in audio wise we have ever played!!!!
One if the games you can get addicted to. The cute, dark-light graphics make it interesting, along with a reactionary puzzle that uses gravity and rubberband-like connectors to gain luminescence and finish the level by getting to the portal. A great use of money for those reactionary puzzle lovers out there!
