Community Insight:
We dont spend money on phone games but we decided to buy this one based off reviews we saw and we are not disappointed. The reason we dont give 5 stars is because it could be so much better. An external view would be great. The upgrade system is good but we would love to see more subs. The interface is another thing that works with no issues but could be taken to the next level with a more gritty/realistic look.
We helped beta test the game and have come back to it time and time again over the years. This is a very approachable, fun submarine game with a lot of replay value. Highly recommended on ipad or pick it up on steam.
This is a nice and polished update to the original game! We agree with most of other reviews here with only 2 additional feedbacks: the controls button looks too simple and graphical. Id wish they look more scumorphic, more looking like old sub controls. The original game had some of that feel. 2nd, the ability to iCloud sync your game so that it can be played on multiple devices. After all, we are in the Apple ecosystem. We have this on iPad and Vision Pro and they both run great. Only wish the games are synchronized. Oh, another point, we love the buy it once app. And the in app purchase expansion is very fair pricing. Good job dev.
Game now locks up unexpectedly. When using rudder commands, the game puts submarine into uncontrolled circling, both left and right. This makes it very hard to control.
This game rocks. Harder than a steel barrel full of rock monkeys.
As the title says, its a good game, easy to play. Id buy it again.
Gameplay reminds us of Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific. No ads, you just pay up front. Graphics are simple but gameplay is so good we dont care. Im enjoying it very much.
We would will enjoy if you added a first person or you can enter the submarine and see your crew working and you could go to the cabins room and you could walk around the submarine and see all the moving parts and stuff.
A German uboat version is badly needed.
Sometimes you want a game you can walk away from for a little while. Crash Dive 2 lets you do that and not loose the flavor. This is an excellent sub game, and no disrespect intended. It is particularly nice that you can be away for some time and not loose your place. Graphics are much improved from the first Crash Dive, and the expansion packs are appreciated. The developer of this program has every right to feel proud.
We played this on PC before we played it on mobile and both experiences were great fun. Its one of those games where the complexity is customizable, we can spend hours playing it and micromanaging every little detail or we can hop on for 5 minutes on our lunch break and sink a couple ships without having to worry ourselves about any tedious mechanics. If youre in need of a time waster, your primary gaming platform is mobile, or youre a submarine enthusiast, this game is a must-have.
This isnt just an excellent submarine game, its one of the best games Ive ever played on the iPad. It strikes the right balance of being a fun WW2 submarine game, with a little bit of simulation features added. Theres a surprising amount of small details that show the developer is passionate about the game and submarines in general. Things like being able to adjust the gyro angle, bottoming the sub, hearing enemy ship propellers when they come close by, rain drops on the binoculars causing light diffraction. We hope more dlc gets released or another sequel gets released.
Im usually into flight games, but this is a great combat game. Highly recommended.
We absolutely love this game. Everything about it is great. Even the crew names are period appropriate. Theres lots of subtle detail but the game play is simple. Its fun right off the bat and gets better the more you play and develop your skill. We hope there will be another sequel, and if there is, it would be great to include some interior views of the submarine to make the experience feel even more immersive (no pun intended). Thanks for a great game.
Great mobile sub game. Intuitive UX, and subtle gameplay details make for a very enjoyable experience. Not all of these are covered in the tutorial but you can discover them for yourself. For example, double-tap the manual gyro offset to re-zero it. And sonar range is reduced based on ambient noise like screws or depth charges. Not the greatest 3D world graphics, but you'll spend most of your time on the chart screen anyway.
The different realism levels allow you to enjoy the game as an arcade experience or a more realistic simulation.
There is no other simulator we know can go up against this one this game is the bomb its really looks real especially the water scene.
We love this game, as a u-boat player we find this game to be the alternative to when we cant get on our computer. Its graphics are good but not so detailed they lag, its gameplay keeps you on the edge of your seat or makes you feel like you are unstoppable. We do have a few ideas for future updates, preferably more upgrades/more diversity if what the current upgrades can do. There are a ton of upgrades you can do to your uboat but we would love more for the sake of making our games lengthy. More in depth crew management, you have a good idea of what your crew are doing but we feel like screaming at them to get back up and work harder and not just look from the sidelines. And more uboats and longer/endless mode campaigns. Overall 10/10 recommend.
Game is great. Be better if had way hear ships coming when under water. Even an issue with torpedoes when lock on just go way off. Even if you close.
Really enjoy playing the game. Worth the money spent.
Good game one annoying thing, is when you have destroyers covering you up and one enemy torpedo runs under an enemy destroyer, but does not hit it. If a destroyer runs in front of one of their own torpedoes, it should be sunk.
This is a great sub sim thats tons of fun. Some ideas for features to add: 1. Add submarine tenders: It would be cool to be able to rendezvous with a submarine tender in order to repair, refuel and reload the sub. Submarine tenders such as USS Bushnell operated in the pacific during WWII to support US submarines. 2. Friendly ports: It would be nice to be able to start a mission departing a friendly port (ex: Mare Island or Pearl Harbor ). You could also enter a friendly report and dock in order to repair, refuel and reload the sub. 3. External view of the submarine to include when submerged Thanks for this superb sub sim. Keep up the great work.
A truly great game on the iPad! Challenging yet doable with lots of options and variants.
Great game and support is responsive and quick to resolve bugs. 5 stars.
Excellent Game! We began playing a similar game in the 90s on our computer. It was factual based and at the time Awesome. Over the years Ive tried to find something similar and found one that wasnt too bad, but it started getting glitchy and drove us crazy! This game reminds us of the original we played over 30 years ago. Our dad was on a Gato Class submarine and would have also loved this game, so realistic and accurate. Well worth the $10.00 price.
As a beginner on this particular game we already find it challenging. The features are well thought out.And the inclusion of crew and their ability to get wounded and heal adds a dose of reality not seen in many games of this type. WELL DONE.
Just like another review this is so close to being the old Silent Service game. A game we played on our first computer which was a 386 before windows 95 even. Really enjoying it on easy. Anything above that is difficult, at least for us. It will keep us entertained for some time to come. Just getting started at this point. Highly recommended if you enjoy sub games. The shooting of aircraft attacking you is a lot of fun on gyro.
A great job on the version. We enjoyed the original but this new version takes it to a new level.
Ive been playing sub sims for decades. Im a big fan of the original Crash Dive. But this remake is over the top. Way better than the original and anything else out there. Easily worth the money. Im buying the expansion packs too. So cool.
We never write reviews but we simply am impressed with is submarine game. Ive always liked submarine games even dating back to the Commodore 64 years, Silent Service. Ive loved starting at the EASY level to hone our skills. We look ahead to the various levels of play and we see it looks looks nearly infinite. At first we were disappointed because there are no decoys but Ive learned to use the thermal layer to hide and it actually seems more realistic. We play this on an IPad and have watched for years to find a good submarine game. This one is great.
Keep returning to this game time and again. Campaign is our go to. Finished campaign on Medium difficulty, which is pretty tough. Bought the Aleutians addition. Very nice, but Please give us the Atlantic u-boat campaign. Pretty please? Make it in-game purchase. $10, $15, maybe even $20. Or charge by campaign? 1939, 1940, 1941, 1942, etc? $5 each? Im a buyer and Im betting a lot more are.
Solid fun game. Ive played most of all the subs sim games from the C-64 till now. Not excessively sim, not to arcadegood balance. Worth the download.
Ive played sub games off and on since the 80s. This one has a good interface and a good AI for the enemy ships and planes. Also, it gives your crew a persona so you dont really want to go all in and risk have some of them die. Instead you have to think and plot your moves. Great game.
This game is fantastic! It makes us remember the good old days playing silent hunter 2 and 3.
A U- Boat version is needed. The Aleutian campaign is a nice addition. This is an excellent game and very challenging. Nice to see new Japanese escorts being added.
Truly one of the best games available. Sophisticated. Customizable. And the developers respond quickly to any suggestion. Im addicted. Thanks for your efforts developing this game.
Wish there were bubble capsules to release to fool enemy ships like the original Sim. More geography options, custom built missions, etc would all be welcome.
We love this game Ive been playing this game for a few months now, the only thing is we wish you guys will add an external camera that will make the game better. Hope you guys do that.
Years ago we use to play Silent Hunter and Silent Hunter 2 on our home computer. We loved those games! This is the closest thing we have found like those games and we now love this game as well. We dont know why, but the satisfaction of sending a ship to the bottom is exciting.
Fun, challenging, not expensive to remove ads. Only wish they added modern Cold War missions.
This is a very good iPad game, but with a few improvements, it could really be amazing. First off, the distance and time is WAY off. Your operate around the Solomon Islands, for example, but you can zip around in a day or so and youve circled them all?? You have ships on radar that says 10 miles, but on the map it would easily be 150 miles or more. Its wonky and hurts the realism. The second huge problem is that the difficulty levels are stupid. Easy is too easy, Medium is playable, but Hard and Sim are simply impossible. The Japanese in these modes are omniscient and its impossible to evade them. We want a challenge, but it should be realistic, and still enjoyable. Lastly, one of the missions you tend to get is pilot rescue. But there are always several destroyers just circling the downed pilot, using him as bait for you. That didnt happen in the war. They either rescued our pilots or didnt, but they didnt just circle waiting for subs to appear. Its unrealistic and annoying. Fix these glitches and it will be a Five Star game for sure.
This game is a lot of fun and easy to navigate. Our only gripe is that enemy bombs and torpedoes go right through enemy ships and hit you. Other than that, its well worth the cost.
This is an awesome sub sim thats tons of fun. Some ideas for features to add: 1. Add submarine tenders: It would be cool to be able to rendezvous with a submarine tender in order to repair, refuel and reload the sub. Submarine tenders such as USS Bushnell operated in the pacific during WWII to support US submarines. 2. Friendly ports: It would be nice to be able to start a mission departing a friendly port. This is a cool feature currently available in another sub sim You could also enter a friendly report and dock in order to repair, refuel and reload the sub. Thanks this superb sub sim. Keep up the great work.
One of our favorite iPad games, highly recommended.
As mobile WW2 sub simulators go, this is by far the best that Ive played. The only extra money that you can spend is for an additional set of maps (Aleutian Islands) for $5, which is quite reasonable, especially when compared with the free to play, but pay to win games out there. There are four difficulty levels, Easy, Medium, Hard, and Sim. The first two make it almost impossible to lose your boat, so enjoy the deck gun and AA play. We dont recommend looking for a surface battle at the higher difficulty settings. Our only qualm is the lack of an external camera. Sometimes you just want to see your boat.
Very best game of submarine and really this game is realistic and best for playing fans u-boot old submarines you can get infinite money in custom mode.
If you like tactical simulations games, this is the one. Its as close to the desktop game Silent Service as you can get on a iPad. Great game.
Very nice!! We loved Crash Dive, this is a bit more complex and as a result, more fun.
Exactly what you would want out of a game like this.
Many skill levels to play, not likely to outgrow this game. The sub-chasers and destroyers are terrifying at the higher levels.
