We generally dont have the patience to play games on our phone, this is the only one. We really like the premise (playing with your Grandpa) and appreciate its simplicity and its lack of micro transactions, in-app purchases and leaky/questionable privacy policies. Im not sure if its still in active development, but Im glad we can keep our cribbage chops up regardless.
We dont for a minute believe that the game plays with randomized card deals. The grandpa has constant 15+ pt hands while we draw garbage every turn. 5 stars.
The banter is repetitive and boring. If the developer replaced it with an AI large language model, it could be a lot more creative and entertaining.
Very cute! We love our personalized Papalooks a lot like he did. Our favorite is when Grandpa falls asleep waiting for you, and when you wake him up, he says we were just having the best dream that we were spending time with our favorite person! That brought a tear to our eye! The hints and tips from Grandpa are helpful. Its definitely not for the purpose of trying to win, because the cards are 90% dealt in favor of Grandpa but whatre you gonna do. Let the sweet old man have his last few wins in life, and enjoy the lessons. Even when Grandpa gets his astounding 16-point hands (which he often does, while you count your single pair), it is a learning experience to watch him count his score. And if you forget something when counting yours, he helpfully reminds you. Too cute. Great for beginners and for a quick meetup with Papa. (The cell phone interface to call Grandpa to play is super cute.).
We grew up playing pool and cribbage with our family, moody notably our grandpa. He died over 20 years ago and we miss him a lot, but we get to recreate that in some small way with this app.
Finally a friendly Cribbage game with a scoring coach patterned after someone we loved. Can adjust speed for slow readers and slow scorers. Super helpful. Great idea.
Ive played this game more than any other on our phone. Cozy, clean, a great way to learn the game or keep up your crib chops. Full of delightful details and seasonal easter eggs (especially lovely to play during christmas!).
This game provides an excellent way to learn cribbage, and play solo games. The premise of playing against a grandpa at first felt a little odd, but actually gives the game a fun personality.

We immediately designed our first in game grandpa to be just like our real life grandpa who died less than a year ago. Ill admit that we had this game downloaded and ready for QUITE a while, but we finally took the plunge recently And we regret having lost so many opportunities to have an enjoyable game of Cribbage during downtimes. Never having delved into the rules, the whole pegboard thing had us staying on the sidelines, but now we have no idea why we let it get to us. This is an enjoyable experience. If you feel your opponent is too lucky (experienced), just reroll your gramps into one that doesnt have as much xp in this game! Love everything about this. Know its been a few years since the last update, but everything still seems to be working just fine.
We were 16 when our Papa passed. Probably 10 when he tried to teach us cribbage. It was too confusing for us at the time. When we learned to love cribbage in young adulthood, we couldnt shake the guilt over never playing with Papa. Then we found this game. We know its weird, but it helps us remember him and feel close to him. You can even customize your grandpas characteristics, and sore loser is an option. Papa used to say, You show us a good loser, and Ill show you a loser. This game really feels like a little piece of our relationship that we wasnt patient enough to experience in childhood, and that means so much to us.
Im addicted to this game! Its really well designed and easy to understand. Plus scoring your own cards is a really seamless process. Plays just like real cribbage in person.
This app is wonderful. Its got cute grandpas that are 100% customizable from looks to skill level to jokes. Its got wonderful music. Its got a variety of backgrounds. And most importantly, it teaches you how to play cribbage very quickly and continues to teach you as you play your grandpas.
No commercials, flashing icons, and grandpa is customizable. Only thing Id love to see, to help us get better at counting, Is ability to turn off the autocount feature.

We feel like after one of the most recent updates the game now gives grand pa way better hands than we get with greater frequency. Previously we had a 2:1 win ratio over grand pa, but hes about to overtake us. Hell score 19+ Points on a hand at least once a game where as the most we can score is about 12 as our best hand for each game. Hard to beat that.
Ive had this game for a while, so we forgot how much it costs, but its worth it! The game doesnt count for you outside of the tutorial, it allows you to try and remember the rules yourself, and you can set grandpa to helpful in order to catch any points you missed. Its cute and quaint, and perfect for learning how to play cribbage irl.
We are not a big mobile gamer, but we wanted to get more proficient at Cribbage after picking it up with family in real life. This has been a great way to learn to rules, learn strategy, and make sure you are catching all your points before you peg. The graphics are charming and the theme is great.
Neither of our grandpas are living, so seeing our grandpas name as our opponent brings a nostalgic smile to our lips. We like being able to count our hand so Im not just clicking through it all. It keeps our counting sharp. No ads, and does exactly what it says. We think its an excellent choice for a cribbage fan.

This is that only cribbage game that brings us back to its roots. Getting your butt kicked at cards. Its also the only one where you do your own scoring, which is an integral part of the experience, along muggins. Just about every other app uses auto scoring, and thats missing the point.
We have played a lot of cribbage apps and the ads have ruined the experience or the no adds cost was high. Or the user experience was poor. This is fun, has an awesome user experience, and the game play is solid. (Disregard some of the complaints from users looking for tournament equivalent play.) we love that you can create custom and diverse AI opponents, and our kids and we have enjoyed making our actual grandpa and dad on this! If you enjoy cribbage, get Cribbage with Grandpas! Its fun and quality.

This game is so adorable and relaxing: its exactly what it sounds like. You create a phone book of customizable grandpas, and call one up to start a play session. We love that each one has a different personality and skill level. The game is well-designed and easily worth the $3 we spent on it. We wanted to learn cribbage so we downloaded this game- you start off making your first grandpa adversary that helps you learn the game. You can pick their personality and how good they are at the game, and then get started. Its very cute and good for beginners.
