Arrow Words is a classic crossword app with a useful twist. In arrow words puzzles, the clues are shown right in the puzzle grid, making them easy to view and play on the iPad screen.
This lovingly produced app includes 400 all-new Arrow Words puzzles in 4 levels. Easier levels use simpler words and a smaller grid, perfect for a short break. Harder levels have tougher clues and larger puzzle grids for hours of challenging fun. Also, careful editing and a huge pool of words ensure that clues don’t repeat too often.
The sound and graphics are also designed for true crossword aficionados. Choose from three visual interfaces that recreate the atmosphere of the crossword in the Sunday paper. We like this type of crossword puzzle and find it challenging.
This is a fun and challenging app. We like how it's timed according to your actual game play. We do wish that they didn't erase a puzzle once you complete it in order to go on to the next puzzle. We purchased enough puzzles to last us a while.
We like playing this with our oldest son. The iPad format is perfect for crossword puzzles, its easy to change your answers. The different puzzles levels and sizes mean theres something for every situation. .

We wrote earlier about how much we like this game….but now after having it for months, now the sound is gone. As a result we are not enjoying it as much.
This app has lots of levels (4), and provides a good challenge. 99 puzzles per level. No annoying ads or requests to buy more content. No overly repetitive clues, has an interesting format, and lots of features – like checking for errors, solve letter, solve word. You must think like an American and a Brit to be able to get all of the words and spellings. Easy level would be a slight challenge to people who are inexperienced in crosswords.
You just need to remember the British spelling and different word usages.
So far we're really enjoying this app, there's multiple levels of difficulty so as you get more practice you can advance your skills. Our only gripe so far is the white on white grid background makes it sometimes difficult to distinguish how much of the puzzle is left to solve.
We have to keep remembering that it's British. We've never encountered some of the words. The clues are sometimes impossible to read, the font is so small.
We've enjoyed playing – great clues and words. But the keyboard keeps disappearing, so we have to turn our iPad off and on again to continue playing. That's no fun.
It seems to be british so for the US there will be different uses of words and spellings. But it's still doable. We like the set-up.
