After years of trying to find a good crossword puzzle app we stumbled upon this one. What a terrific app! Easy, Medium, and Hard puzzles make it a great family app. The ability to filter for just what you are interested in put it over the top for us. No negatives!

Nice app, but the puzzle hints are very poorly written and doesnt reflect normal English. Some are clear errors.
Who is actually paying for that.
Seriously terrible hints in some of them and ads after every puzzle at least.
We enjoy the 5×5 hard puzzles. Unfortunately, there arent many to solve.
A puzzle had two religious answers followed by a transphobic slur. Absolutely disgusted.
Its one of those games paid for by ads, which is fine, but its also one of those games that does the lame hard-to-click move-the-button-around scam stuff to try and get you to click on things you dont want to. Some of the advertisements have fake X buttons that dont work and bring you to the ad page when you click them its essentially malware.
They figure out which puzzles you like and then they are no longer free.
FOUR FEATURE PROMPTS THE MOMENT we OPEN THE APP. All we want to do is solve crosswords. We dont care about whatever feature youre so proud of. Put that on the app download page. Just let us use the app. Stop trying to annoy your users into submission.
Worst game ever who plays this eighth year olds with no life?!?!!
Frustrating app. Keyboard is slow and unresponsive, even on the newest hardware. Un-closable instruction pop-ups mean you have to constantly close the app to progress, and theres a bug that will show you errors that are actually correct answers. Poor execution on what should be a simple system.
Why cant you rotate the screen. This is idiotic.
We love this app! There are lots of fun puzzles with varying degrees of difficulty. Its a great way to pass the time.

Id love to get the ad free version, but $20 is too much. When we first started playing last year is was $8.99 – and that was too much. You keep raising the price, no one will go ad free. But then, thats the point isnt it? Because you make more money with ads than with a one time payment. 5/18/23 Below is the reply from the Developers. Too bad their reply has nothing to do with our review. Im aware that its a onetime purchase, not a monthly subscription. We do not have an iPad, so working on all devices is not an issue for us. Our issue is with the one time price going from $8.99 to $19.99 within 9 months. **************************************************** Developer reply: The Remove Ads works for all devices logged in with the same Apple ID for the lifetime. Its a one-time purchase, not a monthly subscription. Our current puzzle database: – 15×15 puzzles: 15082 – Minis/Midis: 4000 Total: 19082.
This app is by far the best crossword app we’ve ever played. We’ve had the paid version for years now and its been well worth it. And when we thought there was an issue with finding the puzzle we were working on, the developer reached out and showed us what we were doing wrong. Keep up the good work, Redstone!
Great variety! Minimal ads. Easy to navigate.
Its easy enough for us to complete these, every other app we saw was too hard or required payments to play. Ads arent too terrible on here!!
Bought ad-free for 4.99 because we loved the app and decided to get it extra special. Ad-free for two weeks, then began asking for 19.99 to get rid of ads. Im still playing often because these are really great crosswords, just dont fall for that ad free part.
Used to love this app until the Developers got greedy and inundate users with ads that take over your device. Just spent 5 minutes trying to close two of the three ads that they bombarded us before allowing us to start a puzzle. We get that they need ads to support the business but their tactics are ridiculous. Just deleted the app and found several alternatives that work better for us.
We enjoy the app and the puzzles are fun but ads should not override silent mode. We cant use the app at night or out and about because the ads play incredibly loudly even when our phone is on silent and there is no way to turn the volume off. Thats enough to make us delete the app, which is disappointing.
We used to really enjoy this app. However, now after every puzzle solved Im forced to watch a full 30-45 second ad. Seems excessive to us. Ill be deleting the app.
Good puzzles. Not overwhelming with adds.
We’ve been doing puzzles with this app for years now. We like the four degrees of challenge available. Theres always new puzzles available. We havent had to buy any packs yet; but then again Im not a marathon user. We havent paid to go ad free, any ads that pop up can simply be closed almost instantly. Theres no waits while a video or a pitch for another of the developers games plays. We’ve used plenty of other crossword puzzle apps; this one works the best for us.
We think this is the best crossword app out there. It offers games for ALL skill levels. The games are challenging with clues that make one think.
We dont normally leave reviews, but this is a really good app without too many ads. Some of the puzzle authors are better then others, but we’ve found a few we jive with. Since most of the puzzle makers are pretty decent and its FREE, we cant really complain about the ones that arent so good. The interface is pretty good and very usable. The ads are not intrusive, there is generally one after each puzzle, but they dont last for more then 5 seconds or so and some you can immediately close out.
We love crosswords. These are well thought out. Just challenging enough in an easy to use format.
What a way to pass idol time. Very user friendly design. Many many selections. Got it and never looked back. We eventually subscribed but only as a way to show our gratitude. No pushing to subscribe. Cool app.

This app WAS the best! We played the app every day on our iPad for we’ll over a year, then mysterious this week it stopped working. The app launches but then just closes. We’re not sure if its our iPad, although everything else is working normally, or whether something has happened with the app for the iPad. The app works fine on our phone, but who wants to do crosswords on their phone? We’ve deleted and re-downloaded the app several times, but the result is the same. We’re so disappointed.
We love this app. The medium puzzles are perfect for us. We like to try n beat our best time!
