We ‘m a crossword fanatic ,but do have trouble mastering The NY Times puzzles, this however is as challenging as we like our crossword puzzles to be, makes you think and work for the solutions . Keeps our aging mind challenged. PS : we’re not old, only 78 this year!

Pretty decent crossword, theres plenty of different puzzles and once all of the puzzles have been completed all you have to do is clear each puzzle. When you open the crossword after all of the puzzles have been deleted, the puzzles get reloaded with new hints and answers. We’ve had the app for well over a year and have reloaded a couple of times and very few hints are the same as the previous puzzles.

UPDATE* After the previous update removed the ability to use a Bluetooth keyboard we contacted support. To our surprise they replied and said they would fix it….. THEY DID! 5* for customer support and a great app. If we were to be picky (which we’re not) we would suggest to allow the keyboard on screen to be turned off when using an external keyboard. Excellent app and great customer support who listens to users suggestions. Support this developer! Last update removed the ability to use a Bluetooth keyboard. Otherwise this is a 5* app. Good clues and great puzzles. Developers please fix the keyboard issue and we’ll give 5 *

Thought this was the crossword I’d been looking for until we have to purchase future games. No thanks. Deleting from our phone after this review.

The clue has been moved to the bottom of the puzzle and it randomly moves the highlighted square when it’s the last letter of a word. Unrelated to the updates: puzzles are decently challenging but sometimes we think they are stretching a bit with the clues and intended answers. We like it when we’re sitting in a doctor’s office or on an airplane. Helps pass the time.

We WAS enjoying these crossword puzzles. But this update is terrible. When you insert a letter, the cursor now jumps to another word in a very different and illogical manner. Please return to the former way.

Still playing the free version, but we’ll probably buy this when we run out of games.

This is a challenging yet soothing game that enhances our knowledge of many things around us and things to learn, we give this game 4 out of 5 stars.

One of the best crossword apps we’ve tried thus far. Puzzles are challenging, but doable if you’re an experienced solver.

Not too easy not too hard–just right.

We use this game to pass the time whilst riding the subway everyday. It is a great way to pass the time.

By far the best of the many we have tried.

Love the app. Easy to use. Challenging puzzles. Just enough to be fun.

This is our first crack at this type of game. We have worked crossword puzzles before, but was with a pencil and a couple crossword dictionaries. Well at least its all in one iPad. We do enjoy it!!!

This selection of puzzles provides varied degrees of difficulty and a number of formats. The download price is more than fair, and the embedded help options is just right.

Thank you Teazel for for providing various crossword apps with enough free puzzles to feel satisfying and worth the download and an in-app purchase price to unlock more puzzles that feels like a bargain especially with the all-pack price discount. The puzzles are about the right amount of difficulty for us and the fact that mistakes are not automatically flagged allows us to catch our own, like a "real" puzzle, but gives us the option if we want assistance. We like the US edition because the layout is more what we are used to with more clues, but we are getting used to the layout in their other puzzles as well ( currently the cryptic crossword are offering a high level of challenge as we’re still puzzling out how to interpret the clues). Buggy in that all the Teazel puzzle apps we’ve tried will occasionally freeze up on a clue and we have to shut down the app to reset. Not a big deal, but happens. Otherwise 5 star.

We got this app to use to help exercise our memory. It is a nice app. We only play the easy level and it still has quite a bit of vague or what we would call nearly inaccurate clues. So some room for improvement but we love to play it. We bought the whole pack and we haven’t found a crossword app we like the look of better on the iPad screen.

Fun. Challenging. Lots of free puzzles, too.

Great app with no ads. Words used fairly normal. Love not losing puzzle when barely touch screen like others we have tried. Deleting those now.

Very challenging puzzles. We purchased the full set of puzzles. Been doing about 5 a week and they sure are just challenging enough and pass the down time when you have some. The pack has so many puzzles they should last us years! Highly recommend. We have no affiliation with the app or owner. Just searched the App Store and these are the best out there.

Great app! We play it all the time. Works well and provides hours of fun.

Works well. Some easy words have hard clues. That’s great. Good replacement for CRUX. But, the 3 and 4 letter words are used over and over, and owing to the size of the puzzle frame, there are LOTS of short words. Some clues are just way off base. Others are challenging because they almost miss the target word entirely. Two or three challenges per puzzle make it worth it. Easy to use while watching TV.

Try for free, buy packs for a very minimal fee if you choose. We rarely find an app we’re willing to pay for, but this deal was too good to resist. For under $3, we have access to nearly 500 puzzles. Unlike some others, you’re not given just a few letters to choose from for your answer but instead the entire keyboard. Also unlike others, we haven’t had to pay more for hints, watch videos, or join Facebook to keep playing. No waiting for tokens or energy, no too-cute graphics or animations, just very nice, clean crossword puzzles. We love being able to do several a day or just one and not having to do them in any certain order. Great job on this app!

We were perfectly ok with purchasing the additional levels! New words and definitions learned every day. This is a great learning tool: spelling, vocabulary, little bit of history and even some rock and roll. If you have middle schoolers and up, this is GREAT! We home educate and this is a goo part of learning at play.

We like the puzzles but many of the answers are repeated in most puzzles. They may have different questions to get to those answers. It would be nice to see the answers repeated in maybe one out of ten puzzles instead of one out of two.

The free version is limited to 3 crosswords per pack, and there’s 9 packs. Some of these clues are long shots, like "in the dark" long shots. You can only view about 1/4 of the puzzle when the keyboard is activated. It’s good in theory, but lacked in execution.

This is an okay app. The clues they give are too vague to be helpful. This causes much consternation and trial and error when you do happen to figure out a clue. This could be much better if they made specific categories for each crossword too (e.g., philosophy, history, pop culture, geography, metaphysics, etcetera). As of now, even though we paid for all the packs, it is a delete.

Pleasant puzzles with some rather challenging sections, with more difficult clues. Unfortunately there are some cases where the answers are misspelled and answers are incorrect. Most recent example of wrong answer we have encountered was for the clue-"baby tiger" the accepted answer was "Liger". A baby tiger is a cub and a Liger is a cross between a male lion and a female tiger.

So far it’s the best one we can find for the price but leaves a little to be desired. The grid shifts up when filling in vertical words – very annoying. Also, the cursor should move to the next word when the previous word has been completed but does not – somewhat annoying. Our biggest complaint is that most of the clues are very vague, abstract, or just flat out make NO sense. Overall, we rate it a 3 but it needs work.

We find the interface somewhat difficult to use… There is a lot of tapping involved, and it can get quite frustrating. Some of the clues are, in our opinion, poorly worded. This also makes for a frustrating crossword experience.

We’re only giving the paid portion three stars. The free app is fine – no crashing, comes up fast, works fine. Free puzzles were ok too. The puzzle you pay for were cheap and lots of them. Good thing. Must of the puzzles seem to have been written by a non-English speaker. Mis-spelled answers and non-existant words lead the list with totally unrelated clues following close. Used the OED to try to look up some words and they aren’t there. Some UK terms used which surprised us in a US crossword but doable. Lots of puzzles and a reveal letter/word function when needed. Three stars. But very cheap.

Love this app. Great puzzles – relatively easy but challenging. User friendly. Please add more puzzles!

Good clues but cannot traverse back and forth between Horizontal and Vertical answers.

Nice features but we dont think the puzzles were American made. We have found many clues dont make sense to American english.

Im so enjoying this crossword puzzle. The most enjoyable, challenging and very reasonable we’ve ever played. Thank you.

Just the right level of difficulty to be enjoyable.

To start we are a novice at crossword puzzles. We like this app as it is easy to check answers and crawl along. In many features it is good for us. But we are only on our second puzzle and we have found a number of clues that are just wrong. Like durable wood, this answer should be Teak. But there answer is Pine? How about a clue of obscured. Their answer is Perdu which has a definition nowhere close to obscure, Annoying.

Purchased the packs (540 puzzles). Not bad overall. Too much British influence in clues and answers. Many repetitive words (dont know how much more ova, era, and err we can take).

If you do the New York Times app these puzzles are Monday level. Fun but easy. We did however only start one of the puzzles Maybe some of the other puzzle packs are more difficult.

Clues are vague and some of them are of non English origin.

The 2 points we applaud are: 1. We almost always learn a word new to us in one of these puzzles. 2. It is possible to check a letter or a word for accuracy.

Greet for short stints of downtime. No need for connection. Can be played in airplane mode.
