We’ve tried a few crossword apps and this one is the most like doing an actual Crossword. Not too easy, not too hard. Im not always being asked to buy stuff or add other apps. Nice layout. We like it.
Love this app. Easy to use and you can get as much or as little help as you want or need.
We’ve done nine puzzles so far and we like this app! We’ve not seen any ads. It’s very much like doing a puzzle in the newspaper. It’s challenging enough to be interesting, but not so difficult that it becomes frustrating. We find we can enjoy doing the puzzles while also relaxing, which is exactly what we want in a crossword. We recommend this app if you like crosswords without complications. We truly HOPE the developer doesn’t "improve" the app and thereby ruin what it is. By the time we run out of free puzzles we’re quite sure we’ll go ahead and spend some money to get more (if it’s not terribly expensive). There are some British words but we don’t mind that, it makes it more interesting to us. Thank you developers!
So, you get very few puzzles for free, and theyre all kinda small, but thats good for a novice like us. For $3.99, we unlocked like 700+ puzzles one-time purchase. If youre a novice like us, we recommend this app very highly.
You get to try out a lot of puzzles before you commit to paying any money. Then its a one-time cost and you never get hassled to spend more money to access other features. No ads, no interruptions. The puzzles are really good – medium difficulty, in our opinion, which is perfect. Challenging, but not frustrating. Yes, there are some British terms, but the clue always notes that for you, and it doesnt hurt to learn something new about our friends on the other side of the pond! Kudos to the people who write the puzzles and offer this app with a hearty free trial, fair price and a no-hassle experience.

This game is just fine with it’s very defined vocabulary to be in the British format, we are not coming up with many of the answers? It is a VERY INTERESTING game to play, albeit EVEN MORE frustrating in attempting to mentally conjure our knowledge of puns from which vocabulary our education, rudimentary language & synonymic thesaurus is not based?!
We love crossword games in general so obviously our rating is high. It would be five star if it werent for a few problems. First off absolutely every question is sited from another crossword puzzle, no unique questions at all. Though we do understand this because its hard to come up with questions for what maybe 100 puzzles? The other complaint is payed access, sure we get that this company needs a way to get money but, cant you at least give us 50% of the puzzles free instead of 10%?
We like the puzzles app and the way it is structured is well thought out and has wonderful clever hints. Crosswords pure. Getting started we could work most of them and have come a long way. However, we are an American – a younger country, only 244 years old. Not British or European. These puzzles are for people who speak the English language of their countries. We speak American. Do you see the trouble? So, while we learn a lot, most times we like to just work the puzzle to enjoy putting letters together to make a word instead of using the Reveal feature all the time. We’re assigning four stars because there’s nothing to be done here with cultural differences. We don’t want to give up this app but it’s just too frustrating and therefore tedious to us.
Easy to use. The puzzles are challenging enough for us. Studies say crossword puzzles are wonderful way to keep the mind active.
Why is it everytime you open the app the keyboard on ipad dont work you have to open website and close it to get keyboar. To work there has to be a better way we’ve tried everything we know.

You can shift between cross arms. It repeat the definition of the last completed word if you skip one. Drove us crazy. Had to get rid of it!
We like the puzzles, but they do contain a lot of British slang, which we wouldnt know, being American. We did buy the puzzle bundle, and the app is easy to use. We would say most of them are fine for any level crossword gamer.

42 puzzles for free, around 700 total if you pay $4. The keyboard seems mildly unresponsive sometimes, but thats the only issue we’ve had with this app. Crossword lovers will have a good time here.
This app has numerous puzzles for $3.99. Not having any issues with ads. Plays well once you get used to it, and the free puzzles take care of that. (The last crossword app we got was outrageously expensive.). Here you get a ton of good puzzles at a reasonable price. This is what apps should be like. Highly recommended.

We love crosswords so much, they make us feel so smart! This app is PERFECT! We personally paid for the full catalog, but its a one-time charge to have access to hundreds of crosswords FOREVER! No need for wifi/service, you can customize crossword settings like show mistakes & to fill words or letters when youre stumped, and no ads!

This game has decent crossword puzzles and a great format, but we hate how you have to pay to get any more puzzles. We are just a 13 year old, but we dont want to have to pay to get more than 45 puzzles.
There are spelling mistakes in a crossword puzzle!!! Its arrivederci you beasts, not arriverderci.

This is great game. Not too easy, but not impossible to solve. Keeps you engaged. We think the only improvement could be the following. 1. You can have a hint button, click it to get another clue. 2. The levels should unlock automatically once you solve a puzzle. Moodyblues63.
Ever since our retirement in 2003 we were severely worried that the health of our brain would decline over the years, this was a prevalent worry of ours until we started playing crossword games on our Motorola 2011 phone. Our brain feels like its 18 years old again. Oh those were the days, ol’ johnny bob-smith took us to the senior prom! But now he’s dying of dementia. He should have played the crossword! We have narrowly avoided a slow and painful death with the download of this application. We love crossword!!
This is has good crosswords that are challenging but not ridiculously hard. The only thing is that we are American and this game is from a British company, so some of the answers have different spellings than Im used to and a few of the words we dont really use here. Once we figured this out though we were able to figure out the answers with not too much added difficulty.
These puzzles are usually pretty interesting, though not too hard, but every time you leave and have to go back into the app, there are far too many looooong game ads to try to get through. We have to be in a very tolerant mood to even pursue one of the puzzles.
Puzzles can be torture when you come across a clue where the correct answer was misspelled… Overall entertaining.
Some of the crossword clues are to hard. Im 11 almost 12 and we cant solve some of the clues.
The way that the words are laid out within the square dont allow for much overlap, which means if youre stuck on a word, there probably isnt a way to get another letter without revealing one from the menu. We really like solving crosswords without checking the answers as we go, or revealing letters. Its just too easy to get stuck in this game, and most clues dont lend themselves to being easily guessed without a few letters.
We are all for stretching oneself and ones vocabulary but some of the words used are dodgy to say the least? Sometimes they dont really fit the clue. DK.
We had a game just like this, but it was an American game. This one seems like a British word game. We accidentally deleted our old one. Cant find it now. Bad for us.
If youre not from europe good luck! There are so many references about europe or england or just antiquated words we dont use in the US theres also no hint mechanism so u just get stuck googling answers.
We just started playing this. The first time we opened it it was fine but when returning to the puzzle the keypad is covering the bottom of the puzzle. Tried to get in touch with support but that just sends us to a page to buy more from them. We dont think Ill be buying more from them.
Sad we thought it was free. Played 3 puzzles and then have to pay to continue. Boooooo.
First puzzle had clue of derogatory term for non citizen….. Answer was illegal…. When is that derogatory???? Deleted the app.
For example, we were working on a word and the clue was shortening of words. The correct answer would be contractions, right? NO! The puzzle answer was abbreviation which is not what the clue suggests. This is not the first, nor will it be the last. It would be great if they could improve the clues. Other than that, we guess this is an okay app.
Just reopened the app on our phone and wow, a new format. The puzzle is super easy to navigate and the keyboard is in view all the time. The forward back keys make it easy to navigate the puzzle. A great improvement on it’s predecessor.
Love the game! But the new "jump" feature keeps messing up our words. We’re still getting used to it skipping pre-filled letters.
We love this crossword only, we wish they would have more puzzles to do.
