About Cryptograms:
A cryptogram is an encoded statement that requires a degree of strategy to decode. The cryptograms found in this puzzle game use a 1-to-1 substitution cipher. For example all of the letter N’s in a cryptogram might stand for the letter B in the decoded statement. Aside from letters nothing else in the statement has been changed, e.g. spacing and punctuation. In the case of this puzzle game all statements are quotes from relatively famous to very famous individuals. Using your knowledge of the English language and grammar, see if you can decode the quote!
Cryptograms based on quotes are also commonly called cryptoquotes. The cryptoquotes found in this puzzle game are a mix of modern and historical quotes.

The ads play for longer than it takes us to complete a puzzle. Five stars for the game, zero for the ad situation, makes three stars the outcome. We do paid to get some ad free games, and would do so for this one if it was made available. If the situation doesnt change we will be so frustrated that we will delete the game, just as we did when we first played.
The App Store shows a key being given for a hint. There is no key or clue so you are stabbing at a dart board with a blind fold on.
Good variety of difficulty but they have ridiculously long ads for the same dumb game between each quote.
We would gladly pay a few bucks to avoid ads, but don't see an option in the app to do so.
Ive been playing Cryptogram for 60 years. We used to do them everyday in the newspaper, but now we get to do them online. Im very happy.
We love how this app and how you have to figure out a phrase – or an entire quote – by knowing how our language pattern works. However, we would like it better if it let you know you entered a letter incorrectly right away. It puts a red letter in (instead of a gray one) if youve tried to use a letter twice, but it wont tell you others are wrong unless ask for a hint. Otherwise, great app.
Been playing this for years on our computer and now on our phone. Its usually fairly simple once you get the hang of it, yet still challenging. Great for any writer or word lover.
We truly enjoy the puzzle. It can be easy or difficult depending upon if you wish to use the check letter feature. The puzzles are fun to try. We play the game once or twice a day as a diversion.

Ive been looking for an app such as this for a while. We really like these puzzles. We wish we could pay for no ads though.
This Cryptogram game is one of our all-time favorites! Solving the puzzles makes us feel smart and we use the timer to challenge ourselves to solve more and more quickly (our best time so far is 37 seconds ). We seldom need to resort to using hints and we enjoy reading the quotes quite a bit. Suggestion: maybe you could come up with a daily puzzle and keep track of how many consecutive days we get it right? We make the daily puzzles a habit with a few other favorite games/puzzles.
Love the game. It works 100% of the time and we absolutely love everything about it, but THE ADS!!!! We dont mind watching ads, but recently some of the ads just wont go away. Some just lock our screen and we have to turn off our iPad because the X never appears to end it.

If you enjoy a challenge, a puzzle, codes, or keeping your mind sharp, this game is not only rewarding but fun! Ive played many different cash grab and word games, many for years This is the best crypto game ever! It is relaxing (or if youre looking for more of a challenge you can use the timer and not use hints!) and so much fun to play! Im never bored with it. The short ads arent comparable to the big game companies that have options to see ads or have no ads but manipulate the game you have to pay big $$ in order to continue play or win a note to the developer: hopefully you wont become greedy and change the setup and short ads- thanks for this awesome game.
We have a couple of games we play, but the ridiculous number and length of ads in most of them usually makes us give up at some point. This game is perfect and works our brain and language skills.

Most of the quotes are lovely. If you dont like one author, then ask it for a new game. We enjoy working with the code, trying different letters on different spaces, until gibberish becomes literature.
We always enjoyed cryptograms and this app makes it nice cause all you have to do is solve the quotes.
As far as cryptogram apps go this is exactly what we want. Something simple and functional that doesnt try to help at all. Added bonus that it doesnt show an ad after every single game. Chefs kiss.
This game is a lot of fun. Its great to keep your brain active! You can get hints and check your progress. We try to not allow ourselves more than 3 hints. It works for us. Sometimes we go for just 2 hints. It all depends on how much time we have to play. The ads between games are short and not bad at all. We havent had any glitches with the game. So far so good.
It is only 30mb to download the setup of the app of how to match the decrypted phrase letters to the unencrypted letter code all in the setup of a famous author of the past is unsurpassable. But how can we pay forward to remove the ads.
We have always enjoyed playing the paper versions but having this so handing as an app is great. It also keeps our mind sharp. Love it.
This is an excellent game for those who enjoy cipher puzzles. We remember back when there used to be news papers, and the cryptogram was in the comic section. Loved it then and still love it today.

We have been playing for years and enjoy even when we cant figure it out.
Ive only been playing for a couple of weeks. We used to do them daily. It has been many years since Ive done them so Im a little rusty, but this app is set up perfectly for visual people it has the ability to undo so your able to checkout letters to see how they fit or not. It also has a check to see if your on the right path. We recommend this app for the experienced or for people curious to learn.

Ive been playing this game off and on for years. The quotes are memorable, and the interface is clean and intuitive.
We used to buy the cryptogram puzzle books when we could find them. When we saw this app we were thrilled. Its like the puzzle books but so much better. We dont need an eraser. For the more difficult one we would sometimes have to rewrite the puzzle on a separate piece of paper we had erased so much. To be fair the books were printed on cheap newsprint. One we realize we have gone down a rabbit hole just reset. Fabulous. Love this game so much we dont mind the commercials between each puzzle. They do not limit turns or create a time limit so you are tempted to buy more time or whatever. We can just bang away at it until we solve it. Love it.

We started this to help with our science Olympiad event code-busters but its now become a thing we do when Im bored.
We love this game!!! But will you please fix the ads. They get stuck on the Facebook ad and then you have to back out and restart, in order to finish playing. Thanks for doing this in advance.
This is just what we were looking for. Just like we used to get in the newspaper. But you can get a hint if you want it, or just a double check. We do wish they would tell you what constitutes a perfect game.

We enjoy solving the educational, fun, intellectual, thought-provoking quotes in this well-formatted and user-friendly app. Because it auto fills all boxes when a letter is selected, solving is much quicker than with paper and pencil puzzles.
The puzzles and quotes are excellent. Love that there are no ads. Great that after choosing a letter, its automatically added for every instance. We wouldnt change a thing.
We love how you can play this game in different ways, like decide if and when you can use Check or Hint. But the surprising part is the content of the quotes. A couple of times, the quotes hit us, and we just sit there, blown away. Good stuff! Request: dark mode without any blue light, so we can play at night. :).
