We did enjoy the game a lot, especially with how we enjoy playing these games. We lucked up with finding this after finishing a couple series from another developer, and glad we did. But we dont like how everything cost so many diamonds. First, a hint is worth 3 and to skip puzzles is over 10/15 diamonds. And if were only going to start off with not merely enough diamonds, then we dont think things should cost much diamonds. We only used diamonds once to skip a puzzle that just wasnt letting us complete it (the lock to get get into the clock shop, we think?) and after that, that was it. And in the end, we didnt even have enough diamonds to complete the bonus chapter. Which also isnt fair, because why should we fork over diamonds just to play the content already in the game? We do not like that, especially when theres no way to earn free diamonds. Not even an ad, you just have to spend your money and thats not fair. Even with having the $1.99, we dont want to spend our money just to play something that should be a free part of the game anyway. And this kind of puts us off to play any other game made by this developer.
This game is fun to play. The HOPs arent too dark and the mini-games are mostly achievable. Storyline is engaging too. Just wish there was an option to pay upfront to get it. Its hard to know how many rubies you will need and now Im almost at the end with a whole bunch of unused rubies. Bummer.
We have played all 5 of the Dark City series and am obsessed. Great graphics, puzzles etc. We hope they make more of these because think of the possibilities! Rome, Amsterdam, Paris, Zurich, Stockholm etc. KEEP THIS GOING.
Loved this game. Just finished. It definitely kept us wanting to keeping going until the end. It did give us more hints then other games like this. But it made you pay more for certain puzzles. Wished the bonus was FREE! Im not paying to play something that is so short. We did pay for hints around the middle of it.
Production quality is decent. Voice acting is ok. Why is there only one song the whole game? Puzzles are either too easy or frustrating. The final microscope puzzle was beyond unreasonable. Its hard to see and theres almost no way to keep track of what youre doing. We ended up brute forcing it by button mashing.
The puzzle for the sleeping drug from the mayor was awful. Could barley see small bubbles at the end of the red and purple circles on phone. Cant skip. So Im stuck. What a waist. All that time playing and not enough gems to skip. No more from the developer.
Its fun, like any normal HO game. But the map is awful and not the least bit helpful. Honestly, we dont know why they bothered. But the WORST part is that if you need a hint or need to skip a game (theres a ridiculously difficult to understand game with rearranging dots), you need diamonds. They give you a small amount to start but to skip a game requires more diamonds than are given. And you have to pay to get them. So, you buy the game for $6.99, then they sneak in the extra charges. They should let you know upfront. We wont buy another HO game from these guys. Ridiculous to have to pay for hints. And, to add insult to injury, you have to pay for the bonus game.
We uninstalled the app, but its still there and can be launched from the App Store.

No other Hidden Object game begins to compare. Ive played so many. This one is an outlier. Its so long. Its interesting.

We love these types of point & click adventure games. This one was enjoyable enough that we purchased the bonus game for a mere $1.99 we had some issues with the pocket watch puzzle with the rotating rings. At first we couldnt find the tiny dog, but after numerous tries, and with the kind help of the developer we found it. The game then crashed and closed after we selected the dog ( it was the last item we needed). It repeated this oddity several times. The game would shut down after selecting the last item on the pocket watch, and then we would restart the game and it would do it again. We ended up restarting the whole game over, and after that it was just fine with no glitches. Maybe it was just an issue with our phone, but it was a frustrating thing to have happen. We still gave this game a high rating because of the overall experience.
You are asked a question towards the end of a game. If you answer wrong, the main game ends even though there are many unexplored areas. We had just purchased extra tokens just prior thinking we had a long way to go. The bonus game is unrelated to the main game. Im disappointed.

And this one we absolutely adored! A character that we loved, a great storyline that was easy to follow and wasnt too contrived, and mini games that, while time-consuming, werent too difficult (except for that mysterious powder identifier game, the 2nd one. We had to skip it). We absolutely recommend this and have just bought the 2 sequels, which we imagine is why this one was f2p (very good strategy!!). Im hoping Ill love them as much as we did this one.

We loved playing this game but when will there be achievements.
This looks like such an interesting and exciting game but whenever we try to play, after about five seconds the sound completely stops and everything is silent. Obviously having no sound just ruins the entire thing so Im super disappointed because we were really looking forward to this game. Im sure its fantastic with sound.
