One of the best games Ive played in a long time. It kept our interest. Its not short so we didnt feel cheated.
Im new to this series, and love it. Between the puzzles, graphics and story line, its one of the best, in our opinion. One question, is there a certain order we need to play this series or are they independent of each other. Thanks for the great game. Im playing the London game now.
This game had just the right mixture between games and hidden objects. The music was actually nice and the voice actors were far better than many games Ive played in the past. We will definitely be trying another Dark City game.
We guess we left this game in the series to last for an reason. That reason being we were disappointed that the Detective was male. We like this series for the female detective. Also we were grossly disappointed that the bonus game had nothing to do with the main story and was all about Christmas and Dickens just because that was loosely London related. UPDATE POST DEVELOPER RESPONSE: we see from your response that you have no reading comprehension. We explained we had played all other games in this series and had left this one for last as it was the least appealing. We were correct that it did not live up to all the others THAT we HAD ALREADY PLAYED.
Usually we can play a podcast at the same time we play a game. This game complete highjacks all the sound.
Hey this start out with witchcraft but it lightens up. Nice long game. Its a large map, and things can get confusing and it gets a bit slow at times. We like the drawing, the story, and most of the puzzles. Very good.
Great game. It was very challenging. Im what you call a novice player. We Like to enjoy the game. We always buy a game with a guide. So when we get stuck. We can reference it. This the second game l have played. We can honestly say we use it very little. Make think about before using. Thanks for making a great game. Chris.
This was a joy to play. The playtime was sufficient as was that of the bonus game. We experienced no problems throughout. Very well designed and programmed. EXCEPTIONAL.
This was our first Dark City game that we played years ago. It was a wonderful introduction to the genre, and we went on to buy just about every game made by the developer. Being middle aged, Im now playing the games again because Ive completely forgotten all the puzzles and story. Its a great game even on the second pass. If you havent played games from this developer before, dont be scared off by the fact that you have to pay $5.99 to complete the game. They give you a significant taste before you have to pay, and youll definitely get hooked. The price is a bargain! Each game is hours and hours and hours of sheer addictive enjoyment! The games are soooooo well done.
Ok, so the first thing we see it says to wear earphones for better playing. Well, we always wear our earphones when Im playing games, but no sooner do we read this and the sound crashes. Jeez, we did everything. We restarted the game, we rebooted our phone, but we guess its a glitch in the game. The second thing is, there is no tutorial and no explanation on how the game works or what to do. Im sure 5 hundred kids are going to say, but we had no problem, lol. Maybe its because Im an old lady now, but we have no idea what to do. Before anyone tells us to go knit something, or bake a cake, we should tell you that we play almost every game there is available in the App Store. All the survival games, all the fighting and some war games. (Right now our favorite is blades and weird aquarium) So, Im not ignorant to game playing, but this one we dont know how to play. So maybe you could add an option to use a tutorial, for those of us that need one. We really want to play this game, so we guess Ill just keep trying and hopefully the sound will get fixed and we can figure out how to play the game. Thank you to the devs, this game looks so interesting. Still giving you a 5 star.
Im so glad we tried this! Id given up on HO games, but Im now hooked on this series. The stories are interesting, graphics are beautiful, and the games are varied. The bonus games are just as good as the title game, and quite long. Spoiler ahead: Most importantly (for our taste) there are no evil spirits, demons, etc., but flawed people doing the scaring. We love that the last part is a determination of justice on the players part. As a comparison, we used to be a BFG member, but dropped it when we realized that most new games were about evil beings (with a few cutesy games once in a while). As the games became more and more complex, requiring a guide to understand it, they were no longer fun. Thank you for putting the fun back in Hidden Object games. We have now played all the Dark City series and will begin playing your other games next.
This game has great graphics and fantastic music. Im really enjoying it.
We really do like to give reviews, we are too fussy and many games just dont meet their hype. BUT, this game is the exception! We really enjoyed playing it! The hints were quick, and graphic and interactions awesome! The storyline was very creative so it kept us engaged. The bonus cracked us up and made us laugh. Our only regret was our impatience to get through some of the challenging puzzles. We were so immersed in the storyline that our curiosity got the better of us. We highly highly recommend this game its long with so many interesting features. Well well worth what you pay and then some. To the crew who created this kudos, to engage us it has to be great and it delivered in every Way! Buy it we promise you will love it! We would challenge any review that critiques this as we found it well worth playing. Sometimes we get that comes along and is great those are the ones you really need to try.
We started to play but couldnt get the sound to work but it is fun and we wanted to continue but had to stop.
We are not finished with the game yet but so far we are really enjoying it. The developers have done a really good job. We hope they continue to make more like this. Very entertaining.

We love these type games usually just for the puzzles but we are enjoying the plot of this game! Its been a long time since the story part of these games has kept our interest. Enjoying this game very much.

We like the game. Aesthetically very pleasing and great story. But there are too few puzzles ab the ones they had are super easy.
Love developer Friendly Fox, so was surprised to discover a change in unlock payments. Usually for HOP adventure games a one time unlock fee unlocks the main game plus bonus chapter and includes unlimited hints plus strategy guide. With this game, the main game play is one fee. The bonus chapter is another. Hints cost more money for gems and the amount of gems needed to skip a puzzle increase as game play progresses. The more gems purchased, the higher the cost per gem. No strategy guide or player difficulty levels are included. Very disappointing. On the flip side, the story was good and the art was lovely. Had hoped to purchase all the games in this series, but if this is the standard pay format, its a hard no on this, Friendly Fox.
We absolutely loved this game and then ugh we have to pay to continue. Do we have to pay every time it is time for a new level. Na we cant do that you need to get with the times and get advertising and have adds in your game it would do well then. We would download again but not until then.

We love this company, they make fun games with good plots and challenging mini games (that arent too hard). Lots of hidden object puzzles. This game was cool because as a detective you are using logic to solve a crime. Great graphics. We love the sidebar to show how many morphing objects and dominos to find in each scene. We only had to use hint button a few times (which we like by we would rather figure it out on our own). Worth the money.

We think this is the best HO/adventure game Ive played. No easy hidden objects in the sense that you have to think about what youre looking for, and there are a few steps involved in finding and assembling things. Gorgeous graphics, double take HO and puzzles. This is definitely not your standard game! Im only in the trial piece but Im already sold, every aspect is excellent, kudos to the developers!! We have never before written a review, but for this supreme game we had no choice.
This game keeps unfolding and unfolding. Its a great mix of hidden-object game, puzzle game, and whodunit. Its well worth the price of $3.99, so buy the full version and settle in for a good time.
We found this game too short; also an inadequate amount of HOS puzzles became quickly annoying – it's like you decided to cover the lack of good plot under those scenes. We saw you released the new game "immortal love", even if the price is attractive we understand its the same boring fantasy crap, the one that 90% of studios do nowadays. Can't you make sci-fi game? Can't you throw us to another galaxy? Can you release superhits that many years ago managed to make Artifex(now they are releasing repetitive boring fantasies).

Dear players: we are somewhat behind on gaming, as our mother passed away unexpectedly. However we still need to update you: the new Domini game (Halloween Chronicles: Mask) has finally been released, and is now showing up on both the Domini App and the App Store, independently. Domini has already issued an update so please do so before you play it! If you loved this game, kindly review. 4Friends should give us another iOS release in November. In addition, Artifex Mundi has a new game for iOS, which you may pre-order on the App Store. It is Ghost Files 2, and is scheduled for release on November 14th. For those of you who might not remember this developer, 4Friends is renowned for their amazing Bridge to Another World Series. This is a new series, and their first game ported to iOS without BigFish. Let us say this: it did not disappoint! The graphics were fantastic and quite realistic (yes, we were afraid of the rats), the storyline was original and the gameplay was stellar. The flow of the game was perfect, it had terrific quality assurance, and it was lengthy, with plenty of tasks at each location. The map included objectives, indicated tasks and collectibles, and had an achievement tab. Instead of a diary you placed evidence on a board to reenact the crime, and at the end, could decide the villains fate. Collectibles included morphing objects and dominos, and there was an on-screen indicator to tell you how many were left. The HO scenes had an interesting variety. We enjoyed the mini-games and puzzles, although none were extremely original or innovative. This game was highly entertaining and refreshing, and this developers style is quite different than the gameplay we experience in an Elephant or Domini game. Kindly read KimTwilight s review, as it will eloquently do this game justice. Note to KimTwilight: we apologize for being snippy to you. We highly value your review skills and your place on the team. In any event, this game was a gem and it deserves a full 5 stars! We are looking forward to a November game.
Sorry we do not feel $6.99 is a fair price… Nor worth it a shame big fish bailed but we have resigned to the fact we will have to give up our favorite games because we can not afford to play them we are afraid you will do the same as big fish.. Pay once play forever… They have not update their games we lost so much money… We cant play 90% of the games we purchased figure it out but we will not spend any more money..and we are tired of reviews because they criticize games but give 5 stars….. Employee we are guessing.

Finally, a game where the rational explanation is right. We like spooky stuff, but we dont live in that kind of world ( and just as well) so its nice to see an appropriately skeptical detective for a change. The game is long, clever, and really fun.
We jumped for joy when we saw that 4Friends released their first IOS hidden-object adventure since BF dropped the mobile platforms. If you're looking for a game that delivers a captivating storyline, stimulating gameplay, and seamless mechanics, then this one is for you. This is easily one of the best games we've played this year. This intriguing detective murder mystery takes place during the Victorian Era, and you are hired to investigate the mysterious hooded figure who is threatening the lives of the citizens of London at the grand opening of the world's largest clock tower. Is it a supernatural entity or just a sinister madman bent on mass destruction? Our detective gives us the impression that his last years on Earth have arrived, judging from the sound of his slow-forming words, and shaky, old voice. However, his voice is befitting to the storyline, reminding us of someone with profound wisdom and sound judgment, like one of the most famous detectives of all time, Sherlock Holmes. You often put your detective skills to work by collecting clues and evidence around the crime scenes and then applying deductive reasoning. Each time you collect a set of clues, you place them on the board, and a piece of the puzzle comes to light via narration and images. We wish we could use our own judgment to determine where each clue goes on the board instead of being guided along. The settings never become dull, frequently changing in scenery as you travel from place to place. Your investigation will take you through London's well-known fog-enshrouded streets, with the only source of light being the dimly lit street lamps; to a carnival, where a gypsy reads your fortune, warning you of the doom yet to come; and to an eerie cemetery full of enigmatic surprises. The characters are interesting, fitting well into the time period. Their British accents are compelling, and their attire suits the 19th century. Their personalities are engaging, and they help advance the storyline through their witness testimony. The inventory is exceptionally interactive, as mini-puzzles will frequently initiate. The adventure portion of gameplay is sprinkled with clever manipulations to maintain our attention. The HOSs have puzzle-like, multilayered components, with many mini-HOS incorporated within. They are highly interactive, action-driven, and sometimes challenging. We are enchanted by the developers unique ideas, such as the one in which you first match pairs of newspapers, then you choose items starting with "C" from a spread of ads. The puzzles are pleasantly varied, inventive, and sometimes multilayered as well. Some are moderately difficult to solve, such as the one in which you arrange the pins according to the clue that exhibits the punch card in an upside-down position. We love the fun amusement park puzzles as well, such as shooting the targets and beating the monkey at the shell game. There are two collectibles in each scene, and you are guided along by side pullout bars that keep status. We did not experience any technical glitches. There is almost nothing to complain about; the game is nearly perfect. If we want to gripe over something trivial, we thought the adventurous portion of gameplay was a little too easy. However, the mesmerizing HOSs and puzzles made up for that shortfall. We know we like a game when we look forward to returning to playing. We hope 4Friends releases this kind of game 4Ever.

The graphics are crystal clear, love the voiceovers, hidden object scenes are interactive and Well Done! The puzzles that we have run into so far are unique and fun. A map is provided as well. Update. Had a bad week and left lazy review. Standing at 4 stars for graphics. To us a bit outdated, in the visual sense. Games and collectibles are easy to use and tasks are fun while keeping your attention. Much details to see in scenes.
