Only on the demo but its beautiful!

We absolutely loved this story. It was beautiful and had us totally immersed. No, the map didn’t teleport, and we could nitpick it, but on the whole we thought it was a great story. Very engaging, and beautifully made. They made sure to give you a great back story as you progressed, (sometimes lacking in other games), so you knew where the characters came from, how they felt, their reasoning. It truly made us feel connected and invested in those characters. Was sad to see it come to an end (even though it was quite long). Maybe it’s not "high tech" for some, or "up to 2018 standards" for others, but we throughly enjoyed it. To sum it up in one word……. Bravo!

This is a gorgeous and wonderfully done game. Absolutely loved it!

Gorgeous use of color and shape. The story is aimed at very young people, but the puzzles are sometimes demanding. Something for all ages.

We love most of the Dark Parables stories. We’re not great solving hidden object puzzles, but we do love them. We’re on " easy" mode and after awhile we’ll get the hang of it. Then we’ll go to Casual.

We have purchased all the dark parables that are currently in the App Store. Can you bring back the old games please like the one about Snow White and a couple others.

Would have liked more hidden objects but was beautifully illustrated and a nice story to bring it all together.

Finally, after so long, Blue Tea has returned to doing this series. Sorry, Epix, but they did it better. The story is amazing and a little sad. (And the Frog Prince gets a mention, heehee!)And the graphics are beautiful, as is the music. The Cursed Objects make a return as well. Also, there are some easter eggs, such as Parn the cat and a Cursery book, and Rach Newmann, the Blue Tea thief, whos also in every Blue Tea game ever, gets a very salty reception in the intro. And the map is still useless but hey, its detailed more. We dont know why people are complaining about these things or little things like no customization, so what if it doesnt have these things? Its nostalgic, and we love it, as Im sure others do.

First review was lost so redoing briefly. Yes, as other reviewers said, its old school but it is truly still as immersive and spectacular as the Blue Tea Games of yore. You either love this series and its schtick (the heavy focus on story, the beautiful artwork and almost melodramatic soundtrack, loads of animation and cutscenes, and the fragmented HOPs) or you dont. We happen to love it, and this is long playing and full of puzzles and mini games. The free trial was short, but Im still going. Unlike most of these HOPs these days, we found we cant put this down… We find it completely takes us into this other world. No glitches, no goof ups, just a lovely fantasy with lots of cut scenes and drama that immerses us into the game. We recommend highly, and give it 4.5 stars rounded up to 5.

Old but excellent! We already wrote a review but as usual ours dont show up anymore? This is obviously an older game folks but far better than anything new released in this series for a long time! We absolutely loved the story! We usually get a bit bored in bonus chapters but we enjoyed even that story! Graphics were outdated but still fine, letters to read everywhere that tell the story chronologically and you find objects that open side parables that are directly related to the story and ancestry of the characters in the game. Ill admit, we were not happy to see this installment after a week of nothing but we tried it and we loved it! We used to enjoy all the games in the parable series until this last year or so. If we recall, blue tea games was not involved in some of the newer releases in this series and only done by EIPIX. Maybe thats why we didnt like them. Im not an EIPIX fan. So try it out and just know its a bit older. Oh, the map doesnt teleport but the hint button will take you exact where needed! It teleports. Just FYI…

Ok we were really skeptical about this game when we downloaded it. Thinking it was probably just another being a detective and finding this and that with a pretty typical story but we were very wrong. Ok its partly that BUT the story is what really got us! It was beautiful and sad and scary and bittersweet all the way to the end of the bonus chapter. The ONLY thing we didnt really fancy was the puzzles. The rest of the game was bomb. The map is huge and just when you think thats all thats left youre led into more areas of interest. The game itself is pretty long compared to other big fish games we’ve played. We got this game on sale but would have gladly paid full price. It was that good. We dont know how old this game is but developers please keep making games like this the story was incredible.

We thorough enjoyed every aspect of this game! This is back to Blue Tea as the lead developer, and it shows. Beautiful graphics, enchanting and enthralling story. We didnt want it to end! Its true that you cannot customize settings, and the map doesnt teleport (hint button does), but what you get positive way outweighs these minor inconveniences. True fairytale scenery, it just really makes you feel immersed in the story. And the gameplay is so different from the cookie cutter games of so many other developers. Its hard to describe. While there are amulets involved, there is none of that find amulet-insert amulet-get another amulet-REPEAT so prevalent in other games. You find useful items more often instead. Gameplay doesnt center around 2-3 scenes at a time, then youre done. You revisit scenes, but not in a run back and forth kind of way, its all story driven. For example, you have tasks to complete in the beginning, but then are captured and have to work your way back to those scenes much later in the story. Which, to us, made the story and gameplay authentic. We did have to skip one puzzle, because it wouldnt accept the solution, but that was the only problem we had, and it honestly didnt detract from our enjoyment at all. We originally passed on this game, because of all the negative reviews about the game being so outdated. Then during the last $2.99 sale, after reading more recent positive reviews, we thought Id give it a try and Im so glad we did. We dont remember when we’ve enjoyed a game so much!!

We loved the old dark parables and was sad when they so obviously switched. But we loved this one, it was like the old games! Long lasting, lots of puzzles and games and an interesting story!

We have bought a lot of the dark parables games in the past, but havent played one in about a year. We bought the collectors edition. We are giving it one star because the story line was interesting. There was no rhyme or reason as to where the clues were. Once you found them it was hard to find your way back though the land to use your clues. The many puzzles were beyond frustrating because you couldnt tap things. The majority of them were tap the pieces to turn them so they would match nearby pieces. Great concept. But you would tap forever before it finally would turn. We got to where we just skipped those, which we never do. The hidden objects were a joke. We didnt even look at the list- just clicked anything colorful and usually we only missed one. Thank heavens for the hint button, so we had at least a glimmer of where we were supposed to go. The only reason we even bothered to finish the game was because it was an interesting story line. This used to be a great series. We had previously bought 6-7 of them. Dont know if Ill bother any more. Hopefully blue tea just dropped the ball completely on this one game, and this is not the norm. But dont bother wasting your money on this particular game.

We played the game on PC and we loved it now Im enjoying it on our iOS.

Its storyline really deserves a Disney movie. This game was incredible.

This game has soooo many rooms and secret places its hard to keep track where to go to next. Unfortunately the map wont take you to a place where there is something to find. We found this most annoying. Good story.

Maybe we’re so late to the mobile game world, we’ve never encountered this game before. Sure, it doesn’t have the amazing 2017-2018 digitally enhanced graphics and effects. We don’t care for the map as we’ve grown to like to teleport. With this game, however, clicking on the hint button teleported us around. I, like a couple of others, chose the casual mode which is one we never play in anymore. The delightful aspects of the game are its beautiful graphics and use of bright colors. We’re weary of encountering dark games. The glimmer was fun and lovely. We’re a sucker for cool glimmer and look for that in a HOS scene every time we try a new game. Very cool and unique. We found the mini games to be a lot of fun up until true last quarter of the game. By then they were just repetitious This is a long game. We’ve been playing it for 30-45 mins each day for five days now. We’re ready to reach the end of the story, but we’re enjoying it along the way. We don’t at all mind playing a game that isn’t as snazzy snappy with swirling effects and an easy lift teleporter. It really is possible to enjoy older style games in 2018 as long as they’re nice to look at and provide plenty of puzzles. This one tries to deliver those things. Be prepared to do a lot of reading. Consider this a story book with animated graphics.

Wish the map was easier to figure out!

Love the artwork so far and game play is nice as is the story.

We love every dark parables games. But it has been years since new ones have come out on iPad. We see more new games every day for Mac and pc. What we would like to know is will there ever be any new ones for those who play on iPads?

This is more like the series we’ve always enjoyed. Yes, some of the puzzles are repetitive and skip worthy, but the HOS are lovely and the storyline makes sense so it wasn’t difficult to figure what to do next. The map does not teleport, but you rarely have to go more than one room away. We especially like how it all loops back to the beginning, so if you missed a morphing item, you get another chance to find it. We’ve played it more than once and enjoyed it each time.

We really enjoyed this game. The older Dark Parables games are great, but dont give a lot of assistance. The newer ones tend to have less interesting storylines. This is a nice combination of new and old. Our only complaint is that we are seeing far fewer Big Fish HOA games released for iPhone, lately. Please start putting more out. We love these games.

Why did they take it off and the Cinderella last Cinderella no longer available Did you delete it?

Way too many places where the game tells you something or does a useless animation when all you want to do is get on with it. Lots of the dialog you cant skip and you just have to wade through it. Most locations leave a useless document so you cant tell if youve found everything.

The graphics are beautiful as always. This is way below what we are used to when playing the dark parables series. There is no transportation between scenes. Theres no customized role-play. Looks like youre trying to put it out before its tweaked… Seems very half assed.

We live the Dark Parables games and this is just as good, but there is WAY too much dialog. We grew impatient waiting to move onto the next step. And careful! If you tap a character with dialog, you cant skip through it until its loaded up all the way.

The graphics were very nice and it was challenging. What frustrated us was all the different locations in this game. We are used to having to go back to locations and rooms to complete objectives, but this was way overdone. This game had so many locations that it got to a point where we were constantly having trouble finding the locations. We used the maps but it would have helped if you could click on the room on the map and it would take you there. Instead, it gave you the name of the room and a small picture, but it got confusing the deeper you went into the game. We say this because sometimes you had to go back at least 15 locations to complete a task. Many of the locations were initially hidden so it made it very difficult. It got kind of boring trying to find the locations. We started just hitting hint and letting the game take us there. Normally, we try not to ever use the hint feature, but like we said, it just got frustrating. Some of the rooms would close up too and then you would have to find another way to enter. One other thing that was really frustrating was that you had to really hold the inventory items in the exact spot and for a few seconds for it to take hold. There were so many times in this game where we would take an item from our inventory and place it where we thought it needed to go (more than once) and it would not accept it. We have a newer iPad so we dont think it was our tablet. Eventually, we had to hit the hint feature and it would work finally. We were just forced to use hint for inventory items that we had tried already in those places, but it was really touchy and had to be in the exact spot and held there for a few seconds longer than normal. We are just glad we finished the game finally.

As much as we love the story, this game is hard to follow, they dont give you enough supporting content, and the graphics and writings are really small, and not enough mini games. We really wish we hadnt bought the game, but it seems like it was more interesting before we paid for it, then it became really redundant and blah.

The items are microscopic. You cant see half the stuff. Then it doesn’t go close to areas you supposed to interact with, youre supposed to tap everything and read the messages on too many areas in order to know its an area you need to interact with. Makes no sense. If the areas are interactive show them, zoom up to them so we know its part of the game.

This game was fun but we lowered our rating because of the map. Why have a map when you cant use it to teleport. Very annoying.

When we as playing this time we were thrown out of the game twice. The first time we downloaded and played through the game, only to be thrown out of the game in the last chapter. We give up.

We cannot fathom how they go from some of the abilities they had in previous installments like using the map to move around quicker to this travesty. They took two steps back with this once therefore we took two stars from them.

So much beautiful artwork in this game. Lovely! Otherwise standard fare, but still fun. The bonus game has a few typos – truck instead of trunk (of a tree), sorcerous instead of Sorcerers.

We don’t know what to say. After being denied a game for a full week, we were anticipating being graced with a new and exciting release. Upon first glance at the title, though, our excitement quickly abated. This is, by far, not our favorite series; and there’s many reasons why, as you will see below. After playing the demo, we did purchase the game due to sheer boredom as well as the unavailability of an alternative game, even with knowing that we would become disenchanted by most aspects. Apparently, Blue Tea Games reassumed the responsibility of developing this game, with Eipix being the publisher, we assume, this time. Unfortunately, someone forgot to send the developer a message to update this game to current-trending industry standards, as the exclusions of essential features such as custom mode, teleportation map amount to an inexcusable throwback to 2012. This lack of user-friendly functionality not allowing a player to enable specific settings to accommodate his/her preferences wholly hinders immersion and progression. For example, if we had chosen the Normal mode: (1). We would still be guided by sparkles to indicate a HOS; (2). We would be afflicted by penalties in the HOSs; and (3). The map wouldn’t show areas of interest. We want a definitive means of easily determining the locations in which an action is available; however, in Normal mode, the likelihood of becoming overly dependent on using hints would have been inevitable. Thus, we resentfully chose to play in Casual mode and the last time we did so was about three (3) years ago. And, it gets worse: tie up your shoe laces and get ready to run because you will be steadily trotting back and forth on your own, without the aid of a transporting map. The map only indicates where there is something to do, depending on your mode of difficulty. The storyline is nothing to write home about. The backstory is conveyed via scattered notes, letters, and other fragments of remembrance. Because the reading materials are not stored in a particular place, some of the close-ups remain open, resulting in confusion as to whether or not there is something to do. The quality of the graphics does not match the artistry and skill of the earliest games in this series. The characters’ appearances are cartoonish and remind us of those from the Anime genre of gaming. Regarding the gameplay, each player’s perspective will probably vary in accordance with his/her personal preference. Those who are loyal fans of this series will love the FROGS fragmented hidden-object scenes but we loathe them. No diversity + no creativity, let alone any interactive elements = boredom. It is the singular type of HOS presented, and some become recycled. The puzzles, which are far few and between, fail to offer satisfying challenges. The collectibles comprise multiple sets, including cursed objects as well as the trademark Parables pieces, which are always, for us, a challenge to find. Do click everywhere because some collectibles are very small and easily missed. This is a heavy adventure-based game in which the tasks to effect far outweigh the occurrences of both the HOSs and puzzles. There are a multitude of tasks to complete in each location, but we grew tired of the abundance of plaques to interact with. We did not experience any glitches the best aspect of the game. Our rating is 2 stars.

In the current previous installments of Dark Parables there was a custom mode, no cursed objects, and map that transports. We looked back on previous games to check this out. Unfortunately though the plot was good they gave us a dated game that dates back as far as 2015 or before. In fact the format was consistent of the ones released in 2015. We were confused about this. We love the series but this parable was not updated. Blue Tea Games needed to update it and Big Fish should have demanded a game that was consistent with ones released in the previous two years. Poor quality control. That is why we have a potentially great game a two star rating.

Wayyyyy too much dialogue and things to read! Map does not teleport, and the map on the bottom left of the game is reversed. No intuitive at all. Long game, not sure we want to even play the bonus chapter. Glad we didnt pay too much for it.

Originally we wasnt going to purchase this game but we felt we owed it to other reviewers. However we are sorry we made that mistake, especially after reading other reviews. There was very little to enjoy about this game. You could not customize settings. The graphics were blurry and lacked clarity. The characters looked too cartoonish, as did the cut-scenes. Without a cohesive journal and only notes on which to rely we couldnt follow the storyline and didnt even care. We detest FRAGS, and there were no other types of HO scenes. The puzzles/games were mostly of the boring rotational genre, and there werent that many of them in any event. The basic gameplay was somewhat enjoyable but the lack of a teleport map ruined the game totally for me; we are navigationally challenged and there was too much running around. Make sure to use route lines if you ever want to find the location you seek. In addition we kept second-guessing myself when we needed to use inventory items because there were touch-screen sensitivity issues at play. This game seemed extremely dated, and EIPIX should have kept gameplay the same, with a teleport map. Maybe then we all would have had an enjoyable experience rather than a tedious one. Our final rating will stand at 2 stars, and we feel thats a generous rating. Kindly do not delete our review again simply because its not favorable. You are doing this to boost ratings so others will purchase this glitchy tedious game! We can only hope we get something terrific on Monday. BigFish, you owe us for 10 days without a game and then inflicting this disaster on us!

Hate these kind of HOPs – please offer an alternative. Also – please make it clear when a collectible is available – on the map is fine. This game has very limited navigation. The art however, is gorgeous.

Even after purchasing game, there is an ad pop up every time open up game to go past to get into game.

The dialogue was terrible and there was no way to outright skip any of it. You could hurry some of it up, but in some cases if you clicked in the wrong spot it would start all over again. Nothing new in the bonus content. Overall slow transitions and no teleport without using a hint. Lame.

We played the short trial and we dont think Ill buy. This game was a huge disappointment. We had high hopes for another Blue Tea game updated by EIPIX, but Im struggling to figure out what EIPIX did. Added some cut scenes where the characters have moving lips and decent voiceovers, perhaps? What EIPIX DIDNT do: – update the map so that it teleports – enable customizable difficulty – QA the hint system, e.g., sometimes the map doesnt tell you where actions are available – diversify the HOPs. All 3 in the trial consisted of find the pieces of the large items. – explain the collectibles fully in the tutorial (there are character figures that enable parables in addition to the 20 morphing Cursed Objects that allegedly speed up the hint meter) – anything else?? The one minigame was brief and WOULD have been simplistic but for a game error in the item you should pick vs. The item described in the corresponding parable. We were irritated that we had to check the strategy guide to overcome this. We dont want to spoil by specifying, but if it happens to you, know youre not alone. We think EIPIX and Big Fish cut corners to get this game out, since its been a long time since the last one. A pity. If we buy because we get bored, we will update this review. For now, a 2.5 rounded down because we have no good reason to round up.

The map didnt work, the puzzles were impossible, the story so convoluted we couldnt follow it.

Since this game nothing has been released for IPad users!!!

This game is crap! Very outdated. Big Fish, you need to step up on your game and start giving us better than this. Its not fair to make us wait forever for a game and then give us stuff like this. Come on! Get it together already! 0 stars if we could.

Crashes just as it starts to open. Cant get passed the Blue Tea logo. Frustrating when you use satellite download allowance for a game that does not work. Cant buy it if it doesnt work! Too bad, always liked Dark Parables.

We cant continue past the free demo. No, option to customize. We detest old games… Total confusion…. No storyline we detest fragmented HOA. Give us another choice like match 3. We detest not having a map thats useless. Give us a map we can teleport. Wont be buying this demo… Done with this game… Deleted buried forever.

When we went to open the door with the tree crest the game crashed and now we can no longer do anything this game needs a serious fixing.
