Hear from the Players – Dark Tower Reviews

Find out what gamers are saying about Dark Tower:

Game is good, we’ve enjoyed it but at the same time cannot be beaten without watching advertisements.. The game is a logic maze of combat and stat gaining, most games like this have you manipulate your hit points and keys as barriers of failure. We dont mind that its a puzzle game.. The problem is that we’ve managed floor 14 on our first go and that was with help from give reviews and go to Facebook. We got stuck where we cant beat some enemies. Playing again and without that extra help we cant beat floor 7. It doesnt matter what we do, its statistically impossible to finish the game without watching advertisements for gold.

Doesn’t work right on iPhone 12 promax.

Im not far into this one yet but this genre is one of our favorites. The old magic tower, or whatever it was called. We’ve loved basically every game about balancing your stats vs the monsters in a maze puzzle thing. The graphics are not quite right on our iPhone 11. Parrs of the screen are covered by other pages that shouldnt be visible, and some parts seem to be going off the screen that shouldnt. Would prefer to pay for features like save points than more stats. Buying stats feels like it would ruin the game, while a save point would just save us from the mind numbing restart everything on a minor mistake. Maybe save points exist and Im just not far enough in. But wanted to toss that out there as an idea to the devs. Get the graphics working on 11 and make a pay for fun instead of pay to win and Id buy this and any others you make in this genre for sure. Thanks!

Im doing this review because we should (hopefully) get 250 in game gold! Great game!

A lot of games these days try to pack in as many fancy mechanics and graphics as possible, but lose so much character in doing so. Not so with Dark Tower. This game reminds us of Gauntlet from back in the day. Simple premise, simple controls, and simple graphics. It drops you in a tower and says, Go! If you like exploring dungeons top-down style, you will probably like this game.

We have an X and the fonts are too small to read. Just started a minute ago so we will update our review in a few more minutes if we make it that far.

This game could be fun but, as of now, its just frustrating and unplayable.

Super challenging game, and very original. IPhone X Support is welcome. It was initially broken due to UI problems and still not perfect, but playable at least.

Ok below sounds like its more frustrating than fun. Its fun. Its more fun than frustrating. Its funny cuz it actually makes a fizzle sound just before it crashes. Like theres an electrical short or something. The game is fun if youre up for restarting every few minutes. Literally 2/3 mins and it sizzles. Then when you go back youre dumped someplace different then you were when it fizzled. Just go with it and itll be fun.

We wanted to like this game, but it was a lesson in frustration. The few times it lasted before crashing for us to get a sense of the intense puzzle dynamics, we dug it – and then it would completely fritz out on us. Too bad – deleting.

Crashes constantly on an iPad Pro (at least five times in five minutes). We saw enough of the game mechanics to like it, but not love it. But only if its playable, and its not.

It’s a great game for people who like thinking and challenging!

It is a good game, makes you think out your moves before you make them.

Impressive game with lots of cool characters to fight with. Smooth controls and great effects.

Good so far, easy to pick up. D-pad style control to move through maze-like levels using keys. Just think about how you use your keys, it got us stuck sometimes that we wish there was an undo button.

The game is more strategy than a simple puzzle. The higher you go, the more difficult it gets rapidly! If you miss use a key or attack a wrong monster, you may have to restart the game. There are monsters that decrease your gold. It is not easy to earn gold as well. And you won’t be able to spend gold until the 3rd floor. In order to get there, you will have to encounter these thief monsters. There are also monsters that reduce your attack by 10 each encounter! Monsters at the top floor are very powerful. The final boss has 3k+ attack and 4k+ hp. Thus you won’t be able to beat this game unless you spend money… That’s 1 star we deduct it from.

Good times once again in this dungeon crawler. Hours of fun and easy system to use and maintain. Give it a shot you’ll like it!

Like someone else mentioned, use your keys wisely.

On level 3 and can’t stop playing!!!

Had to restart a couple times to figure it out, but now that we know what to do, it’s actually pretty fun. Makes you wanna keep going.

Really good game. Not too easy to beat! Gotta think hard to beat it.

Has that 80s game play quality !!! Easy game play & not a $$ grabber !!! Get this game !!!!!!

Not exactly like the board game from MB in 1981 but it still has the fantasy, action, adventure genre of D&D style RPG with a little of 1980’s style action arcade nostalgia. We recommend this for anyone that remembers and appreciates those games and misses them.

— Update – Thanks for fixing it! We have all the biggies, Agricola, Lords of Waterdeep, Pandemic, etc. BUT we keep coming back to this! Simple, yet clever and fun to play!

We love choosing which keys to spend weaving a path through the dungeon. Upgrading stats is classic role-playing. Figured out we could swipe around the main screen to plan our routes. Only played on easiest difficulty so far but we like it.
