Surprisingly fresh and simple to play with a straightforward gameplay. Liking the challenge.

This is a great implementation of DSD6. Dev did a great job with this. Im not a fan of this game but we cant get away from it. We want to like it but the game can end on one roll after doing great. We dont know if Ill ever open it again but Ill consider tipping the dev if we do.

Not a lot of depth, but that is ok. The rules are simple. It is a challenge ball ending the priorities, and threats just seem to keep coming. But it is winnable. Great concept for what it is.

Like other reviewers, we find how often you have to toss out useless dice and get stuck in an overwhelming amount of threats frustrating. HOWEVER this is one of the board game to app ports we’ve tried that is beautiful and intuitively designed and works well. Additionally the developer is offering this for free without ads! Even if we get annoyed with our current game, we can foresee myself returning to the app often as the developer lets us play the game with ease and convenience over the original print and play.

Simple but very strategic solo game. Thank you for taking time to develop this app. We wanted to buy the actual game after having played yours but 50$+ we think is a bit steep price considering the material necessary to create it. Looking forward the horizontal layout version!

We have had the board game for years, but we could never figure out how to play. Between work and little kids that want to eat the physical game, we could never spend enough time to figure out the game. Having it as an app is a life saver! We love Tharsis, FTL and other sci-fi games, and this is a just perfect. PLEASE expand the game!

We have been playing this little game for months and months now. Not only is it fun, but pursuing the GameCenter achievements will teach you different ways to play and provide additional hours of replay. Well worth tipping the developer!

This game is really fun. We’ve never enjoyed a dice game on our phone before. Simple enough to be approachable and quick to play, but there is some strategy and its not boring. Im really enjoying it and we keep coming back to it.

Simple game mechanic. Turn based, portrait, one thumb, free with no ads or IAP. Balance of strategy and luck. Several hours of fun.

Love the board game this travel app is great for killing time and having fun.

Well, we have played the game for about a year now, and we just finished all the achievements. The hat trick was the hardest. What a great game! Thanks, Devs! Yall fill the tip jar now, ya hear?

Deep Space D-6 is a great little dice management game that takes the guesswork out of the rules of the physical game but retains all the tactical decision making. We still bought a physical copy of the game because its super nice and its fun to alter the rules. And who doesnt love throwing dice?

This is a good simple mobile port of such a great board game! Hopefully there will be the addition of the expansion and different ships!

This is fun. We wish there was a way to mitigate the effects of Meteoroid and Solar Winds. To our knowledge, youre stuck taking that ten damage over the course of your play, which lowers your score.

We would absolutely give this game 5 stars, if only other ships were available.

This is one of the best implementations of a board game we’ve seen. Virtually no bugs, smooth play, good short tutorial, and very responsive. Art and interface are minimalistic but thematic. Our only problem is that the underlying game, while fun at first, quickly declines. The game comes down to rolling dice and assigning them, then drawing a random threat from a deck and rolling to see which threats trigger. Most dice have limited function so in many cases youll roll six and be able to use fewer than half of them. There are some interesting choices, but they arent every turn and they often dont matter because a few turns of bad rolls and threats (which is very common) will take you from full health to destruction. We’ve heard theres expansions for this and would love to see them implemented. The system works and could be fun if more choices were available. As it stands, Im neutral on this one. The implementation is a 10/10. The game is a 3. Its worth trying out and its fun in the same way solitaire is fun, but dont expect for it to stay fun if you play it too much.

Amazing Game! But the randomness ruins sessions immediately. We played about 6-8 games on varying difficulties and they all ended in our demise for stupid reasons. Thats it and thats fine, but it isnt for us long term.

Nice implementation but lacking stats, a DECENT scoring system. This game doesnt track ANYTHING unless you WIN! So you try get thru 36 levels, lose and get nothing, no stats. It would be nice if this game at LEAST tracked the most rounds youve been able to reach, games played, wins, losses. Its pretty lame that you can (and will) consistently lose in this game and the local scoring system is a one-liner that shows your best score, which is 0, until you win. And of course if you dont win, you dont get a score. AT LEAST RECORD SOME STATS. We like a challenging game but this fumbles when you cant see a score or any related local stats UNLESS you win. And it doesnt help that the RNG in this game CONSTANTLY yields CENSORS. So please, calculate and show us a score EVEN if we lose!!!! Keep some stats, add a LOCAL menu option that lets us view our stats (wins, losses, avg rounds lasted, total games played, etc). It would be a much more compelling game to REPLAY if we could see this stuff. We’ve played this game about 6x now. On EASY, and cant get a win. And NOTHING to show for all this time. Beef this up! Adding stats should be CAKE. Btw, we’ve been playing the physical version of this game for years, lots of fun times, wins, losses but something is a little off with this game. Yes, the real game is a LOT easier to win. Or maybe we just have bad digital dice luck. 10 attempts now (edited) and no stats, no wins. The local scoring system is a stretch. Please spruce this up and will absolutely add to the tip jar (which is also BROKEN) and we will share this with the world. As-is, Id rather play the physical game. Its a challenge but easier. No incentive to play this if we cant see any stats, and we only get a score if we win, which is sad and seems impossible. Censors censors censors the rng LOVES censors ugh ;(

When four scanners go down, only 3 are reactivated, sometimes threats appears on their turn and then again before you are about to roll.

Games alright. We beat easy, medium, and hard difficulties all within our hour lunch break. Not much else to do now besides custom and make it as long as possible but not necessarily harder.

But largely based on luck. Success here is trying/restarting/etc until the threats come out in the right order. This game is about 80-90% luck, 10-20% decision making.

Its a dice roller. There is little strategybut some. Hope you get the dice you need.

The games concept is unique and interesting – its pretty fun. However this game is sometimes extremely difficult if not downright impossible to win. Threats stack on too quickly, and sometimes Im so unlucky that we get 3 scanners and another threat appears. Its frustratingly difficult and too reliant on luck and not strategy. Maybe buff the crews effects or nerf the incoming threats because from what we can tell the odds are highly stacked against you. Fun game, but Ill be staying in easy mode for now.

Game was fun at first but it is completely unbalanced in hard mode. AI rolls always favor the game and punishes the player. Im all up for a challenge but even we wouldnt even roll this bad with real dice.

Like many other comments have pointed out, this game has potential to be good: The core gameplay is engaging, unfortunately it doesnt seem well balanced. Most of the time your options are so severely limited you can only do one thing per die, if at all. Hopefully that one thing is even actually useful. While all your opportunities to apply any strategy to the game are seemingly disabled, threats accumulate, die get locked up, and as a result you have even less chances to actually influence gameplay at all. Even on easy difficulty after 15+ games we find myself getting sucked into the same negative feedback loop, rolling our two available die hoping Ill be able to chip away a couple damage from the 10 enemies with 4hp that have accumulated. Somehow we continuously roll 4 scanners at a time, while only getting at most two soldiers. Either the mechanics of each die face/role need adjustments (maybe more options) to allow more player control, or the chances for things like scanners and infirmary events need to be adjusted.

The implementation is great, kudos to the developer, but the game itself is just totally random trash. You can literally lose an entire run due to rolling three of the same result on 6 dice. You might as well flip coins and pretend youre a winner or loser based on how many flips you guess right. Or try to guess a strangers birthdate. If you get it wrong, you lose! Oh no! Avoid.

Like many others have said, this app is well designed and bug free HOWEVER after about 15-20 rounds, it is near impossible to overcome a series of bad rolls leading to your death. Its almost impossible to win because of how luck based and heavily stacked the game mechanic is against you.

Excellent game! There is so much strategy, yet the randomness keeps it fresh. Id play any game that was even close to this game.

We love the D6 print and play game. This game is an excellent implementation. Thank you very much for creating it!

Didnt know how else to tell you or if this will work.

We had never heard of this game before, but we found it when looking for a new dice game to play on our phone. Most of them are not well done. This one is excellent. We think its our new go-to game now. The design is awesome. The UI is intuitive. The tutorial is well done. Its easy to learn and pick up and play. Its challenging but not frustrating. It strikes just the right balance: deep enough to keep you interested, light enough for a casual player. The play itself is addicting. We love all the options. With the custom setting you can create as easy or as hard a game as you like. As well as, as long or as short a game. Every option is there. Oh, and it uses almost no battery. This is the kind of game you can play in short increments, but you end up playing longer sessions because its just so good. We super appreciate the love put into this app. And the fair monetizing with no ads or pay to win IAP. We immediately tipped the developer in the only optional IAP. Thank you developer for doing such a good job with this. Its hard to find a fair and enjoyable but challenging dice game, and you nailed it. We really think this is our favorite game now.

Youve done an amazing job with this, miss the layout of the ship and kinda having that worker placement feel but this works great for phones. We dont know if you plan on making further updates but we have a few questions and suggestions ( we think should have a ship display toggle in the menu would make more use of drag and drop option as well. Do you have the rights to the game to allow you to utilize the other ships that are not just the one in the PNP? If you do have rights to the game it would be cool to see the expansion implemented.) it would be nice if you do plan on expanding in any of these areas to keep what you have now as free (like the PNP) but if you want the additional ships and the expansion have it be a paid DLC even at .99c this is a well loved game and the fact you made it so we dont have to print a copy and scrounge up dice for our friends is great.

Excellent, straightforward and old school time killer of game. No frills but its an enjoyable experience, especially if you dont like to game for hours on end.

The fact that you can go dozens of rounds without getting attack dice and constantly get dice taken away by scanning/infirmary/sending them on missions means that youre almost guaranteed to lose every game unless youre incredibly lucky. We won our first game on easy after the tutorial by chance and we havent won a game since. Several games in a town we’ve gotten down to the last 3 or 4 enemies and theyve then come back and killed us because we constantly get bad rolls. Easy mode isnt easy, and its far too reliant on luck.

We played a couple times and was obliterated. We got spammed with enemies that remove crew. We would roll scanners often enough to spawn an enemy every other turn. We almost never rolled attack die, so enemies would pile up. Bombers are the bane of our existence and show up right after we destroyed the last one. At one point, after two turns, 3 rather painful enemies spawned on top of the previous threat of having a meteor. The threat die rolled and we went from full health and shields to 4 hull. We got no repair crew and spawned 2 scanners, causing yet ANOTHER enemy to spawn. The threat die rolled and it was game over. Bottom Line: RNG can turn your pretty good run into a complete loss in as few as 3 turns – on the easiest difficulty. We’ve had better luck in XCOM.

The actual concept and gameplay loop here is actually really enjoyable. We like the strategy and planning out our dice. The problem is that at the end of the day theres just too much luck involved that the player has no say in. Ill give an example from our most recent game. At the start of the game we got 3 Dont panic events in a row. It was at this point the game that we were screwed. You might wonder why since thats a good event. Well, the answer is that all of the good events were front loaded which meant we could only get bad events from that point on. Then, as soon as we got an actual enemy, we proceeded to have 4 turns in a row where we got 3+ scanners. We had one turn with FIVE scanners. Our game ended at about turn 12 due to absolutely no fault of our own. And thats how the VAST majority of games end. Whats really disappointing is how fun the game is. If there was a bit more strategy we could employ or things we could do to prepare for luck we would adore this game. As it is we frequently play one round, get angry, and close the game for a few more weeks before trying again and hoping something has changed.

Firstly, this is an unauthorized port of someone elses game. Secondly, that game isnt even good. At first glance, this game looks like a cute little entry into the dice placement or dice assignment style of games, a genre where, in theory, the randomness comes from rolling a bunch of dice (shocker!) and the strategy comes from figuring out how to use those dice. Unfortunately, this game is pretty much all randomness and no strategy. Instead of having a bunch of different ways to use your dice to choose between, most of the time there will only be one currently useful thing to do with each of your dice and you will just do that thing. Even when theoretically you have a couple options, the correct / optimal thing to do is almost always pretty obvious. Threats mostly have only one way to solve them, so youre completely at the mercy of chance whether you roll what you need or not. Dont get us started on the Scanner mechanic, which is literally just Well you have a 1/6th chance of rolling the BAD face on every dice, and if you roll too many of them you get screwed. Maybe the actual official board game version of this has some added complexities that actually add meaningful choices and strategy. If it does, this port is doing a disservice to DSD6 by making it seem worse than it actually is. If not, well, its just a bad game.

Its weird, we dont usually like roguelikes (which this essentially is) but theres something uniquely appealing to us here. Maybe its the smooth, intuitive interface or the fast speed of the game, but whatever the case we’ve found myself quite addicted and playing over and over. Our only request: please add some more achievements! Im eager to play even more but we’ve got to have something to work towards. Thanks for a great little game!

We have owned the box version of this game for years, nice to have it portable on our tablet.

We will lose many hours playing this. Great work!

But we keep coming back for more we hate RNG yet am so hooked on this brutally simple game.

If youve played the board game version of this then youll be delighted to know that the digital version is awesome. We were genuinely surprised to come across this on the app store and jumped at it instantly. Glad we did too. Perfect.

What a great implementation of a fun, quick game. Thanks to the dev!

Its fun and stays true to the original board game.

Strategy vs luck balance is a little wack but its fun to play. Wish there was a mechanic in endgame where you can compensate for scanner rolls. Yeah, you can no longer trigger any more threats, but rolling 4 scanner dice at that point can tank your entire game no matter your strategy. So yeah idk, maybe take 1-2 scanner dice out of the pool once you exhaust the threat deck? In endgame youre likely to have multiple threats that take crew dice out of play so we dont think that would be making things too easy. Fun game overall.

You can have rounds where you just get something harmless when youre down to no threats, or get something that takes down half your health when youre already getting hammered. There needs to be some use for wasted dice to prepare for the bad rounds, like building temporary armor, shields, and weapons, or even just storing them for next round.

Its a great game with a very clean design! Id love some form of progression between runs (unlocking more events or abilities).
