Defense Zone has been our one and only purchased game from the App Store virtually since the platform has existed. It used to be our favorite game! Just as of yesterday, the game is completely unplayable with the control bar totally messed up and controls malformed, with thousands of little tanks parked lined up on all roads. Its a complete mess! What happened? We tried deleting the game from our iPad, and reinstalling it, but no joy. Every game map is completely messed up. We felt so strongly about this game, and really sad to experience this. We are hopeful the developer will release a new update that fixes it.
We have been playing DZ, DZ2 and DZ3 for over a decade. Literally every day since. Our favorite one is DZ2. We paid for an HD version of it when it first came out. Now the game has added the "Watch Ads for $" feature. To get through levels that we have been doing for many years we have to watch 8-12 ads per level 3 round. We paid for the game!!! For the first time in many many years Im no longer playing this once amazing game. We find ourselves reaching for the icon and then remembering. Artem Kotov has lost a huge fan of his games.
With recent update 12-22-2022 unable to use the 4 x times speed. This makes the game extremely slow. Not sure if accidental removed but will not update on other devices tell fix.

Been a fan of this series from its first. The difficulty got a bit crazy, but the worst is when you pause the game after having built up your defenses. Sometimes it saves your progress other times its all gone, start level all over again. Why bother playing then.
Agree with others that latest upgrade messed up the game. Its choppy and seems to stutter on the latest iPad Air. Its a shame as we loved this game. Dont purchase version 1.7.
This WAS our favorite game to play and we have played it everyday for years but the newest update (version 1.7) has ruined the whole experience! Now when you zoom out its hardly like youre zooming out at all. You cant see enough of the playing field which makes it very hard to monitor whats going on in other places. It really obnoxious and has ruined the entire game experience for us. We wish it could be changed back.
The difficulty is still a bit too high. The towers are unreliable.
We love tower defense games and the Defense Zone games are our current goto's. We heard about them on IIT and glad we did. The $2.99 is very reasonable for the full version. The developer doesn't force you to cough up $$ to complete levels and we think there are 30+ levels in this game. The most levels out of all the tower defense games we've played.
A very interesting game. The last month or so we've been playing it to beat it. And we haven't even touched medium levels yet! Kudos to devs.
We've been playing this game since the first release. We find it very challenging and it kept us entertained through long flights, barber shop, etc. There is nothing to dislike and we decided to post this review because those giving 1 star ratings to a very well done and enjoyable game are just making things up to complain. If this true old fashioned tower defense doesn't entertain you, the problem isn't with the game – levels are challenging but not impossible, the game never crashes, and there is balance overall in gameplay. Every turret is different, you have to learn how to use them properly. To the author, Artem: Please make a 3rd episode.
We've been playing this game for years. The mechanics are such that small changes can lead to large effects. Many levels require thinking out-of-the-box from just the previous level. We do agree that level 20 is near impossible, but how many games aren't? Great game to learn strategy.
- Weapons get spastic. Mortar will rotate side to side and not fire a shot. 2. Weapon placement difficult at times. Should snap to a location instead of having to move it around until you see a color change to place it. 3. Too many times enemy will move right in front of a weapon the weapon will pan and not fire a shot. 4.overall, the game is designed to make you watch f'ing ada in order to get cash or health. When you do, the difficulty rises and survivability decreases in that you get overwhelmed with the enemy.
We love tower defence games and this one has nice graphics but at one moment it switch to 'spend money to move forward'. Hate such games :(.
The first few levels, which come free in the lite version, are great. Graphics and gameplay are great, totally worth the price of the game. Then the levels get impossible, without paying more and more to continue being able to play the game. Bait and switch thievery.
The best of the defense style Wait for 3 version.
There's just something about this game that makes it a perennial go-to game. The graphics are spectacular, the weapons are just varied enough to engage us, and there are a lot of playing fields. We've owned it for years now and still play it every week.
This game is simply amazing. It's very addicting and the graphics are superb. You will not be disappointed.
With the release of IOS 8 our iPad2 will not display the game in Landscape view only in Portrait.
Since updating our iPad Air to IOS 8, the game starts in portrait mode and will not switch to landscape. So it's not playable since almost 1/2 the screen is not usable. Please fix.
As mentioned by other reviewers, this game is not compatible with IOS 8. 1/3 of the screen in portrait mode is cut off. And there is no longer a landscape mode. Please fix asap. Great game desperately needing an update.

Don't update this app. Update cause the app to freeze at the home screen. Unable to begin game.
This new update seems to have broken the app. It freezes on the opening screen without being able to select any options. We tried restarting our iPad air a couple of times all without success.
We really loved this game, we've been playing it on easy to see how the game plays and when we got to level 21 it got ridiculous & too hard! The towers wouldn't fire on ones leaving the screen but on others of no value, really!? Yes, we're aware of the fire upon selection. We think you also need to add the ability to select targets you want destroyed. We really don't understand game developers, when you have three levels of game play you should be able to play the game all the way through with fairly no problem at all, on the easy setting but not in this case! We would really hate to see what the hard setting would be like, nearly impossible! This "was" one of our most favorite TD games until this, we would love to give you 5 stars but there's just no way with the game play like this. We see this so often in TD games and it destroys it's replay value completely! We have the first Defense Zone and haven't finished it yet so we're leaving this one until it's fixed. We certainly hope we don't come across these issues with the first DZ or we're done! Fix your difficulty levels ASAP or we'll be forced to lower our rating even further, for not listening to your customers.
Awesome TD game… But mission 26 is impossible to win :(.
We always find ourselves coming to this game and only this game. Lots of gun very strategic. But can you please modify certain turrets, so that when the turret is fully upgraded and you use hell fire, you do different kind of damage? Like a devastating amount? [we think it's fair because most of us never fully up the turrets all the way up, unless playing on hard mode. That would be awesome. Also increase the hellfire ability of the freezing turrets..they should slow down the enemy a litttttle more when hell fire is activated. George.

The first person is correct…Magical Realism.. The game is too hard and every time is the same old thing, save your money to buy mortars only every time ..good graphics and sound though. We got to level 15 or so and got discusseded and deleted the game…?.They made money off of us…only 3bucks , no biggie..It was fun for a while…we were playing on an IPad.. We gave it 2stars.

Incredible! Such a great TD game. Great graphics and gameplay. Only thing lacking is a persistent upgrade system like star defense or kingdom rush. Hands down star defense has the best upgrade system. So many attributes to upgrade and when you've maxed those you still have the three general attributes to upgrade per tower! Plus those last upgrades have no cap!! You can continue to upgrade your towers until you're unstoppable. Great incentive for continuous in app purchases! We've spent quite a bit on getting our enertron towers up a couple hundred levels. All we ask is that the in app purchases be reasonable. Too much and we wouldn't spent real world money on in app currency. Oh, and if you want to add a little something extra you could try giving the player some kind of assistant drone like sentinel 3 or hero like in kingdom rush. We're going to be watching for your third game since it was mentioned on your site! Plus sentinel dark star is adding tower damage so we're less excited about that one. So we'll be looking forward to your game to fill that void. Keep up the great quality and work. Take care.

We have achieved gold in all levels and in all difficulty settings. This is such a great game. MORE LEVELS Please.
We have played the various versions for a couple of months and this one is definitely worth the time and effort to learn how to beat each level. We have completed every level thru 20. Yes, some are difficult but that is the point. You need to change your strategy and tactics depending on the level and it all works out very nicely when you clear a hard level. Not for the faint of heart or those looking for a beer and pretzels game. But if you love defense games then you have to put in the time to get the results.
This could easily be a 4 or 5 star but when you reach about level 12 it gets almost impossible to beat so all the extra levels they added are worthless because you cannot get to them. In the last few rounds your weapons bounce off the vehicles you are trying to To destroy. Advanced weapons are better but they fire so slowly they cannot keep up. Potentially great but ultimately frustrating level of difficulty too early in the game. Great graphics though.
One of greatest TD on iOS in our opinion!!! But…. ….Last 2 updates still there is save-bug for us… After re-load earlier saved game we're trying to zoom-out on any map and after that ALL & ANY of buttons at the bottom are NOT make any action (new turrets buttons, option-button etc, air strike etc)!! They are just not respond! But still all builded turrets on the field are still available and clickable!! So please fix that issue… For now only 3/5 star (after fixing that, we will give 5 stars, that game is really deserve!).
Challenging and fun. This is our third favorite TD game after KG and iBomber. It's worth the investment especially for the updates.
It looks great on retina. The towers are cool, with great visual FX. It's got a solid balance of challenge. DZ2 is better than most of the top 100 strategy games in iTunes. Very underrated. Our only complaint is the levels are too short to earn enough cash to fully upgrade the best towers, and no Endless mode. That's a TD standard, add endless.
Thanks for fixing the problem with it closing. It is a awesome game now that we can play it, totally worth the money:).
This game was sick but now it closes out often and is one of the worst games we have played yet hope someone fixes.
