What Makes Delete After Reading Stand Out

A book you can play, or a game you can read, Delete After Reading is a crafted combination of an adventure story and puzzle games about cheating your destiny. An original storytelling format for armchair detectives and escape room aficionados of all ages.

On the worst day of your life, you find a strange device with a file named “Delete After Reading”.

It’s a classified document. Nina, Cinco, and Tomate, a clandestine group of kids (they happen to be dead, but they’ve never let that small detail interfere with their daily, uh, lives) want you to join them on a secret mission to repair Destiny’s latest injustice: the despised millionaire Martin Skrilhex has stolen the only existing copy of the highly coveted videogame “The Curse of Penguin Island” so only he can play it.

Together you’ll have to sneak into the magnate’s mansion and steal back the videogame, so kids around the world can play it.

But this mission will only be successful if Destiny does not find out that you are changing his plans, so never ever forget to delete the file after reading it.

Main features:

  • Text is the gameplay, a cool and innovative mix of interactive reading, story, and escape room puzzles.
  • An immersive storytelling format that broadens the view of what games (and books) could be.
  • A thrilling adventure story for the whole family.

This Puzzle game offers engaging gameplay and regular updates for mobile players.

Community Insight:

We like the game so far but we hate that it doesnt have a saving progress. We cant do the whole chapter at once and if we close and open the app we have to start all over again. Kinda annoying, please add a saving progress feature.

This game is very fun, good plot, good puzzles, AMAZING GAME one flaw though. This isnt worth $5 its kinda like $3-$4 so AMAZING GAME overall, we had ALOT of fun figuring out the puzzles and playing the game, very unique.

This game is fun and all.but a save and continue feature would be nice so people wouldnt have to start from scratch every time they play.

We will start on a positive note, because the idea behind the game is fun and overall, it was fun. If you liked the game Device 6, then youll enjoy this because its quite similar in terms of how it plays and the kind of things you have to do/puzzles you need to solve. That said, there are two things that could be better. First, the last level is a pain in the butt because it is timed and there is NO margin for error. This means that if you tap the wrong thing once or too soon, you get to try again, but you need to get through multiple stages of the level. You can, for example pass through the first two challenges, but if you screw up the next one enough times, you go ALL the way back to the start of the level and redo everything you already did. We get that its supposed to make the situation feel urgent and realistic, but cmon. This is an APP! After awhile, it got pretty boring/frustrating having to keep restarting and we wanted to quit. This is the other problem with this game; if you dont play each chapter from start to finish, the game does not save your progress on your current level. So if you play most or part of the way through chapter 3 (for example) and have to leave the game, you have to go all the way back to the start of chapter 3 and redo everything you already did. So if you can get past those two things, youll probably enjoy this game.

Great game, but we just opened the app expecting to continue where we left off and realized there is no way to save. Really? Chapter 4 is kind of a pain to have to start all the way over! So disappointing.

We forgot to check and we think we might have payed for it by accident.

Hello Developers and Future Players, This game is awesome, especially, if you enjoy reading, puzzles, point and click adventures, and interactive literature. It even has graphics and sound. Its like basically the book is alive and it wants you to help its character before itll let you read more, but your inside the book and you are the character. Best way we can explain it. Devs, we just was hoping you could try to add a save feature, it is so frustrating, getting into the book and a puzzle, typing it in our notes and figuring it out and then the game just goes right back to the main menu and we have to go through it all over again. Ive done this too many times to count. Also, we need better guides, a step by step guide with the conclusions on how to solve the puzzle your stuck on. The internet has some guides with some weird input. For instance the phrase Beware of Destiny, they say is Beware of Destitution. This makes no sense and they dont tell you how it got that conclusion. TLDR; The game is great, needs a save button, needs better informed guides, we hope the developers respond.

Looks great so far :) we enjoyed chapter one, but before purchasing, we skimmed through a walkthrough and, with the many bugs we've encountered, specifically w/ the tv (didnt show channels 7-9 until reloading app) and audio (didn't play after reloading), it's more like a $3 game at this stage. We can definitely see it having potential in the future, and as a coder ourselves we appreciate the immense amount of work that was clearly put into it- alll in all, keep up the great work.

The format of this app is great, and the stories are great.

We think this is a great game with amazing ideas and puzzles, but there could be more to help the reader in this game. The first chapter had us stuck for quite the while because we had little to no idea on what we were doing. Perhaps a few more guides as to how to scroll and progress the story may make the game feel easier to engage with. Overall, we think this is a very fun game with potential to be great.

We love the art style and puzzle point and click games in general. However it was very difficult to navigate which made us stop playing the game after getting stuck on the safe puzzle.

We came into this game wanting to have fun finally finding a free game but we solve the only puzzle and we have to pay. But we do like how it has good puzzles and thats the only thing we like.

We never played it but we know it will be good.

We love this game so far. Graphics are great but one probelm. IM STUCK ON CHAPTER ONE. We cant scroll for some reason. We play on macbook pro. Does anyone have this problem?? If so give feed back on reddit. Our reddit is lilylikestopla. Btw (our bar is broken do we can't see.).

It seems like a game we would enjoy, the symbols on the tv aren't correct however (not sure if this was a mistake) the diamond and crown should be switched, also it won't let us buy the game on mac for whatever reason, we keep clicking the button to buy and nothing pops up.

Not certain how many chapters this game has bc we're not about to pay for it, but immediately after Chapter 1 you hit that paywall. Strongly dislike games that do this without giving enough to even evaluate. The symbols are also out of order FYI.
