We played this developer’s previous racing game, Bus Derby, ten years ago when it came out. Every time we got a new phone, we made sure to redownload it, since it was reliably the most fun racing game we have ever played on a mobile device. It was incredibly well-optimised, looked good, and most importantly, the vehicles handled great. Buses had a weight you could feel, and if you wanted to win you had to take proper lines and keep solid traction with the road. We were so surprised that after all this time, there was a sequel, and it brought over all the best parts of the last game. The cars have believable weight and grip, the courses are well-planned and reward you for learning their quirks, and the destruction is fun to watch and partake in. We’re having a great time going through the campaign for the first time. We hope that in the future, the AI is improved a bit, since right now they occasionally crash themselves out, but this seems to mostly happen to the AI in the easiest difficulties so it may be intentional. Also, the music is alright, but the Bus Derby soundtrack was something special (I can still replay most of the songs in our head, even after years.) I’d love to see a few more songs added that feel a bit less generic, but maybe the current list will grow on us as we play more. From what we can tell, the game is still completely singleplayer just like Bus Derby, but we think that’s alright. It saves a lot of battery and allows us to play on flights and trains without worrying about connection issues, and time trials still offer real competitive challenges when the AI falls a bit short. We would love to see a LAN multiplayer option in the future, and we think this game would have huge potential on consoles/PC if a multiplayer mode is ever added. The handling models are just plain fun, more than most arcade racers currently available on any platform.
If youre into the feel that Wreckfest has but you want it on mobile like other derby games (iOS and [potentially] Android), this may be one of, if not THE game to play for that. Sure, there are technological disadvantages but that doesnt matter, what matters is that the quality this game has. Hope more content comes out for this game from those at Dimension Technics!
This game is similar to bus derby but with new game modes and racetracks! And this game also has 12 cars to unlock. And we saw new drivers and, all drivers from Bus Derby is returned since they debut in this game, and our favorite car is devastor. This car has the best speed and grip, also has great acc, this car is also a destroying machine for b to a classes. This game has all of your cars that can fit your play style for c to a+ classes. We also like that your can K.O a driver by depleting their health to zero, which we like about this game! We would recommend this to a arcade racing games fan.
The bots are perfect in this game they dont do random stupid things like gta but they spice it up every once in a while to make things fun.
Derby Madness is a huge step forward, we’ve been playing Alpine Crawler back in the iPhone 4 era, it’s nice to see you guys continue developing new games with passion. There is ONE thing that needs to be IMPROVED, it doesn’t affect the gameplay tho, is that once the player use custom spray for the vehicle, they won’t be able to change back to the default colour, for example GEPARD is light blue, which is kinda annoying. Plz fix.
The last event in the Amateur C class skill series seems very hard to get any medal on. How do we beat this?
To start with, we never write reviews. We are in our 60s and have been a local racer around our area up until our vision started getting funky. From a drivers point of view a driving game needs to have a decent cockpit view with good physics. To us this one does it. Sure there are more realistic racing games out there (not many anymore though lol). Not many people race like this in real life anyway but this one is just fun to play and we love the physics. Its kinda like what you would like to do in the real world and maybe close to what it would feel like. To us that is the main point of a game, to have fun. It doesnt seem to be a money sponge either. We did pretty good in most of the rookie section without spending any real money. We did eventually, just to go faster lol but it was a very minimal expensive. Finally Thank You, a racing game you can be competitive with and have a blast, without draining your wallet. Nice Job all around and we just started playing like 2 days ago.
We love this game. We had waited for Wreckfest but was frustrated with events and things that we didnt like, and a frustrating racing experience. Derby Madness excels at everything we dont like about Wreckfest. Derby Madness has fantastic graphics that are on par with Wreckfest and even surpass it in certain areas. It focuses on derby racing more than lawnmower modes and derby destruction, and Im here for the racing. The driving physics are fantastic as well as the crash physics. Great varied courses with some secret shortcuts. Most everything in the game is earnable for free but prices are nicely affordable. Totally worth the $3 to remove ads if you love this racer like we do. Nice variety of racing modes and skill challenges. We prefer the modes, graphics, and racing here over Wreckfest in almost every way. A few improvements: please add a virtual steering wheel or slider bar for control. Also a way to customize or enlarge the driving buttons. More paint jobs or skins for cars will be welcome. A few rally style cars to add since so many tracks are dirt or off-road. A snow track as well. We cant remember if the game has a cloud saving feature or Game Center saving to protect our progress as well. This is a fantastic racer with the graphics and gameplay and modes to give Wreckfest a run for its money, and we totally prefer this. A few improvements here and there with some control and hud options, but it already gets a solid five stars from us. We play a ton of mobile racing games and right now this is easily in our top 1-2!
Absolutely love the new game so far, the graphics dont even look like a Mobile game!! The racing is so much fun with 24 instead of the old 16 racers like bud derby had, it even has some returning drivers from the Orignal Bud Derby in it aswell!! We’ve played bud derby on and off for over 9 years, such a great game with amazing devs who dont make their games into ad-filled cash grabs. If youre looking for a new, fun, addictive, beautiful game with hardly any ads; This is the game for you! Our only complaint so far is the lack of color schemes compared to Bus derby where you could choose a lot more colors for your vehicle, but that could be something new for the future and is a Very small thing. Overall highly recommend this game.

Derby madness in our opinion is a really good game and is honestly a nice step up from Bus derby, which is great itself as well. And while DM is a fun game to play when Im bored, we have one problem with it, a big one. In app purchases WILL BREAK THE GAME, we dont mean cars and tracks glitching out, we mean the entire game being unplayable, heck, YOU WONT BE ABLE TO PLAY IT AT ALL if you process a couple of in app purchases, Its caused our game to crash each time we load in, which has led to us deleting the game as a whole and reinstalling it, (which of course, wipes your progress) we dont know if this is just us or the game itself, but it will need to be fixed. Overall, its a great game to play, but until the issue is fixed, youll have to progress normally. (Edit: if you want your purchases back, use the restore button, we found that a couple minutes ago) (Edit 2: DT has responded and they are accordingly working on the issue, so thats great. This company has had a part of our childhood. We’ve been playing Bus derby since about 6 to 7 years ago across multiple accounts, and seeing it get a sequel that not only brings more content but BRINGS BACK THE ORIGINAL BD CAST just puts a smile on our face. DT is heavily underrated and we hope they can fix the few flaws in derby madness and keep on rolling.)
Waiting along time for this its been worth the wait .
Coming from almost a decade of playing bus derby between an iPod as a kid to now, news of a car related racing game from Dimension was exciting After playing through the rookie season, the game feels too slidy and the cars have way less grip as we’ve become used to on Bus Derby. The track list, while entertaining and technical, isnt as expansive as we were expecting we read some previous reviews and it sounds like those are going to be added in a future update so looking out for that! The cars look interesting and damage is decently modeled but the grip and driving physics was underwhelming in comparison to that of bus derby. 4/5 stars so far!
We played Bus Derby an absolute TON growing up, and we’ve been grinding this game for the past 3 days, and we must say it does improve on a lot of things! And we just want to leave some comments on a few improvements/changes that could be made local or online multiplayer would be the best thing by far, but if thats too difficult to implement we get it, theres already plenty else to enjoy in the game anyways we dont mind the custom skins/designs for the vehicles, but if we could have the same color-slider back so we could pick out our own colors for our vehicles, that would be great. We hate seeing a vehicle in a color we wont be able to have being driven by the opponent because it wasnt one of the default colors chosen Upgrade armor to also add weight to the vehicle. As it stands, upgrading armor seems basically useless to us. We’ve never gotten knocked out of a race, and we didnt ever get to having smoke pour out of our hood even after 15 laps of an Endurance race. Nothing was more fun than plowing through other racers as the Metal Dominator that had 2.5X every other busss weight in Bus Derby, and we feel like we should at least have a harder time getting tipped over or falling over when we upgrade our armor lastly, the racing music gets pretty repetitive, and we miss the voiceover a ton. Nothing felt better than hearing YOU ARE THE FIRST after you win a race, or just simply hearing OVERTHROW after you deck another racer. And Im sure more music tracks will be added in the future, but as it stands, we miss the hype-building guitar solos a lot, and dont feel much urgency to drive fast with the current racing soundtrack ALSO, most fun track idea ever incoming: a huge Figure 8 but with the side ramps from Delta Speedway as the curved parts. The collisions in that thing would put Bowtie to shame!!! We hope this game continues to improve and get more updates!! Im sorry if it sounds like we focused on the negative stuff, we cant stress enough how much we do indeed enjoy this game as it is! We just wanted to offer hopefully helpful feedback. The game is cool, but whenever an ad appears (mostly after a race), it mutes the game making us have to completely close out of it and reopen it. We know this is probably not a big deal and is an easy fix, but it does get annoying having to close out of the app and then reopen it almost every single time. So if you can, please try to fix this. Dont mean to be a burden.
We were an avid player of the companys previous game Bus Derby, and this is an amazing sequel!!! (though we will keep Bus Derby around in case we ever want to hop in any larger vehicles) The graphics are great, especially the vehicle damage – it looks really good!! Im only a few games in, but we can tell that this is gonna be an amazing way to spend our hours. We hope that even more vehicles and maps will continually be added! If we could make a few changes, Id do something about the tiny on-screen ads that show up on the very bottom while youre racing, but we do understand you need to make money! And better those than full-screen ads that play after a race. The only other thing is that the cars feel very, very twitchy at low speeds – maybe smooth out their movement a bit? Overall, this is an amazing game, and all the developers should feel so proud!! We would recommend this to everyone, 11/10!!

This game is an amazing game reminds us a bit of burnout and wreck fest it would be sick to have an open world sequel like burnout paradise.

We’ve been playing the bus derby since it first came out years back. We can humbly say we’ve made it all the way through, expert level, tons of cash, raced every race and still play it . Thats how we found this new one when the ad popped up. This one is very cool and we will have no problem spending a few bucks on it. There is only one fix that could be made imho. The accelerator pedal is too close to the break. We like the original setup in the bus derby where they are on opposite sides. We can get used to it but it would be a nice option. Otherwise, way to go guys!
We have been playing Bus Derby for years. Its our favorite game. It is now replaced by Derby Madness. The graphics and the physics of driving Bus Derby so much fun and this game is even better. We were so hoping for a new game from this developer. This is a wonderful Christmas surprise. The only problem is we will be spending too much time playing this game because its so addictive. Thank you thank thank you!!
Writing this review after playing the game for an hour or so. If you liked Bus Derby, then jump into the old Ford Futura wagon and get ready for more. Game play is very similar, more opponents, much newer tracks and a few familiar faces in the lineup of opposing AI players. You win to get funds for upgrades, more boost, engine, tires, and armor. You get points for overthrow and push out. Points for combination push outs. Points for stunts like 2 wheels. DT finally brings us another edition of Derby and it slaps! Well done.
