What is it about
Detective Max Mystery: High School Murder is the game about a crime happened in Conor High School shortly before the prom. Though Max is just a student, he wishes to reveal the secrets of the murder of his friend, Alex. Max is going to investigate the case, inspecting rooms full of objects, meeting suspects, seeking for clues and solving riddles. What is the motive for the crime? Rivalry, money, revenge or love? The detective will do everything possible to find the murderer and bring justice.

We cant say enough good things about this game. Theyve really put in the time and effort to make the clues hidden and the puzzles challenging. Its spoiled us though because Ive played all the games in this series and nothing else measures up now. Its just flawless. Please make another one soon.
We never write reviews, but this game deserves one. 5 stars so fun for a free game! Only problem was the translation to English at times. We played this game a little bit everyday for about a month before we finished all 3 of the episodes. Thanks for the game.
We wanna like this game and even purchased a clue package because we thought we were doing something wrong. We wasnt. We wasted clues to find out we had done the exact sequence the clue showed but there is a glitch. In The Disappearance of Mr. Winters, the video recorder will not come on with the cassette clue sequence. We even used 2 clues to confirm the sequence and it will not work. Please fix or refund our money for the clue package we purchased.
Theres alot going on with this game. We feel like theres no way to know if you have everything you need from one location. A lot of the clues cant be collected and are just there as if youre supposed to memorize them for later while also collecting samples and unlocking codes.
Get this game it is so fun but challenging at the same time.
The only reason Im giving this two stars and not one is because we can tell there was some thought put into the clues. Its not incredibly sophisticated and enjoyable to solve, but its not entirely junk. The constant ads are a serious problem though and we wouldnt play anything else from the developer in the future because of them – they interrupt play in a very frustrating way unlike other games that have normally paced ads in logical pause moments.
You cant do much of anything without being bombarded by ads. And theyre all very long. Game is also poorly designed, clues are too sporadic and unnecessary. Sloppy execution.
So at first, we were like ok, this game will be fun! Wrong! We have tried, but we have noticed we have gone from 50 coins to 22 to 2! Also, its so confusing sometimes and just not worth it for us, please fix it.
Its a cool game, the only downside, every time you change location you get an ad sometimes youre just reviewing the suspects and you get an ad. There are so many ads its freaking unreal. We, at this point, dont even care who the murderer is. Uninstalling.

At first the game seems so good and promising, then shortly after it becomes so annoying because the clues dont make any sense and there are a lot of them that arent even needed! It is impossible to solve without seeing the walkthrough! Also even after you make an accusation and it turns out right you find that you havent even gotten all the clues! Its just a mess. The only thing that kept us going and not deleting it is because we had invested so much of our time and was getting mad so we had to see if it gets better. It didnt. Im very disappointed.
The items you collect have no labels as to what they are and lack direction to what they should be used for. The hints are worthless. The translation/ English is off in a frustrating way. We are to the locker and we did the math correctly and even used clues to verify that we were correct and the lock still does not open.
A lot of the clues make no sense, so play is unfulfilling. Hints are entirely unhelpful. Since the recent update, its nonstop ads. Im deleting it now with three rooms unlocked and completely stuck.
This game isnt terrible, but theres very little direction of what you should do, and its kind of a mess. The hints are so useless. Very rarely you may get one that helps, but after trying to find the password to Alex computer, you watch an ad to get a hint and it will say something like we hope we can get the password to Alexs computer Thats 80% of the hints, just useless thoughts that provide no help whatsoever. The items you get have no clear objective. Some Im not even sure what they are at all. Like a random wood stick, or these rectangular things – dont know what they are and we keep trying to use them but nothing works. You should at least label the items so its clear what it is. Additionally, theres no way to save papers you find so that you can use them. Like the diary page on the table in the art room, the students exam grades chart, etc. Why cant we pick them up and carry them around?! Or at least take a picture of them so we can use them later without needing to go back and forth? Some of the puzzles are poorly done. Poor English translation in places. They go back and forth between using a 12 hour and 24 hour clock. The investigation notes arent thorough, and you cant take your own notes in the game (aside from writing them down IRL, but the whole point of the investigation tab is to have the notes on suspects stored in the game). The approach to the detective work is unrealistic. For example, you find cotton swabs in random places in the rooms, that you then use to analyze the blood. Not exactly a good investigation technique. Why does the detective need to use the schools broken microscope? Why does he have none of his own supplies? Things like that make the game feel dumb.
This work of art is serious. No bells ringing and no maddening interruptions by cha-ching sound effects. The clues are what you make of them. Rake them over in your mind and run through them aloud or make notes. None of the clues spell things out for you; you might need to refresh your knowledge of Art and Physics, for starters. We printed lots of the problems out (the graphics are gorgeous and fit perfectly with the story)and got a pencil & graphing paper; freely writing things out helps with our logical thinking and memory. We did NOT finish the game in, say, a couple of hours. The graphics and layout of the rooms are significant as they are valuable for reminding and also for getting an understanding of just what happened to Alex. We love the bold characterizations used with members of the school faculty.
Love it but a bit tricky have to paste the wall and very hard to do. But you dont take the money and gun from safe. But love the game.
This game would be a lot of fun if the hints actually gave you any idea of what to do next. The items you pick up also dont give you much direction to what you should do next… Not a clear game at all.
We play puzzle solving games as our go to games, this game has absolutely no direction. Your literally tapping the screen a million times and when you watch a video to get a clue the clue is of no help whatsoever. Honestly we think the constant ad watching without help is just a way to create revenue for the developer. Dont download unless you want to be annoyed.
Like the other negative reviews said, the puzzles/clues dont make any sense so its impossible to solve this game without a YT walkthrough or getting hints. Good concept, poor execution. Also the English could use better translation in some areas, but its understandable overall. More frustrating than fun overall.
When we first started playing this game we thought it was going to be great. Sadly, it went downhill quickly and we hit a point where we could no longer continue and had to give up. The puzzles to unlock things are impossible. How is someone supposed to know that a picture hanging on a locker correlates to numbers in a sudoku puzzle located somewhere else??? There is nothing to tie the two things together. The hint system is useless. It gives us hints about things Ive already solved or areas we dont have access to. Many of the hints are not even hints… For example, a hint that says we hope we can get access to Alexs computer is zero help with figuring out the code to actually unlock the computer. And why give hints on things to look at in the basement when there are no hints on how to access the basement??? A very poorly executed game. The only positive is that we didnt waste any money on it.
So we love the game but Im at a point where we found and almost did everything we could but we dont have Jessicas room unlocked all we have is the first three rooms.
We loved the game and the story line. We actually found it interesting and when we couldnt figure out certain things we didnt give up plus it kept us calm.

What a fu this is one of the most annoying games Ive ever came along. 50% of all riddles and puzzles are just dead wrong, even with the walkthrough you will not be able to solve this game. What a junk. It had so much potential, but making illogical riddles is unforgiving.
Has the potential to be fun but the hints arent even helpful at all.

The clues arent linear & have nothing to do with your location in the game. Im getting clues for Mabels locker & clues for finding things in the basement, neither of which we have accessed. Frustrating to the point of not being enjoyable. The only good thing – it was free.
Good game, like escape room or hidden object games in detective style.
