Community Insight:

We play D&D and it is nice to know that some games are sort – a based off of that.

One of the best phone games we have ever played.

Nerf shields, great game, solid feeling of progression.

We just got this game yesterday but we love it the only problem we have with it is it has no multiplayer. Please add multiplayer.

The game is luck and skill mixed together, like having a warlords set and Demon spell book mixed for crit damage. It's not always going to work, but when it does it works so well. This game can screw you over and give you terrible rolls, but that's the point, if you want a game like this that's pretty much just skill, play combo quest.

This is, hands down, the BEST game in the App Store – not to mention the best game we've ever downloaded. Amazing playability. While tough at first, once you get some good armor, staffs etc it's absolutely awesome. Great job developers can't wait to see what else you come up with.

This is a truly well put together game with no bugs, no bombardment of ads, great replay-ability, near endless customization and it is a good time waster.

Very addictive. Although it's chance through dice rolls (roll to hit like D&D), there's plenty of strategy in armor choice, stats, rerolling (or not rerolling), and mana conservation. Enough strategy to keep you coming back, collecting armor sets, and pushing through stages. Haven't been addicted to a mobile app like this before.

Spent the last hour playing, great concept and really unique game.

If you enjoy RPG style games that are 8bit… Then this happens to be a game for you. It is honestly worth a shot. NO ADS and it doesn't ask you too buy anything. It's an outstanding game.

This Game Is % our Favorite Dice Game we Have Ever Played. We Love The Items, The Endless Mode Is Addicting, And It Isn't A Greedy-Buyer Game. (Example: Clash Royale.) This Game is Insanely Worth Playing And Kept On Your Device. This Is Truly The Best App Store Hidden Gem You Will Ever Find. -SteamPunkGaming.

Great game to sit back and kill time.

This game is one of the best games we've played in the App Store. It looks repetitive but doesn't feel like it at all. A well done game that doesn't rub transactions in your face and has an amazing soundtrack. The only con we saw was a glitch in which the dice are still shown after a battle. 20/10 too much water.

Love the "8 bit theme" and harsh death penalty that resent games lack. As long as you don't turn it into a free to play this game will take you far.

We've had this for we think 4 days now and we're getting far. Love the sets and the challenges of the bosses. We're trying to get all of the sets at the moment. We're currently using the ice set but we can't seem to find any of the dire sets or the blessed sets anymore (being on world 3). We don't know if a fire helmet is a thing yet because we don't recall seeing one but please balance it we guess you can say. Can't wait for an update.

This is a fun game you can pick up for five minutes or play for hours. It is cute and entertaining. Also, in-app purchases are not necessary to play. We appreciate being able to choose to support the game without feeling forced.

This game is a must see. Full of adventurous lands and mythical creatures to fight. Spells, armor, mana, luck, and wands/staffs. Before anything else INSTALL THE GAME NOW!!!!!!!!!!! Ok so the game is great, fight monsters, upgrade stats, and work miracles with the magical spells of Fire, Ice, Lightning, Vampire, Heal, Critical, Shield, and Reflect. The farther you get the harder the monsters. HELPFUL HINT: VAMPIRE IS A GREAT SPELL USE IT LOTS IT HEALS YOU AND HURTS THEM.

This game is a ton of fun and can kill a bunch of time. Mechanics are easy to learn and collecting the best gear is just as rewarding. We do have one small annoyance though. We would like the option to view equiped gear while inside a shop or chest opening tile. Sometimes the gear has only slight variations and we cant remember what our current armor has. This leads to passing on something good or grabing something not worth while. Beinh able to compare would be nice. Other than that the game is highy recommended.

We got a lot of good gear and finally beat that final boss and know we're sad… The game is so good and it's amazing but just make the game longer and more goals. Overall it's great.

No Offense, but it's about time you have unlimited dungeons. NOW we PLAY IT ALL THE TIME! It's AWESOME.

We love this new approach to an RPG. Just two suggestions: 1. Have a way to sort the inventory (by type, set, etc.) and 2. Be able to switch all four items out at once with a pre-saved set of items, rather than one at a time.

Loving it! Currently on stage 7 and it only keeps getting harder, need greater strategies and more keeps pilling up! Good game.

Very fun game. Tops many other RPGs and has an interesting aspect with the dice.

Great integration of tabletop gameplay and old school RPGs.

We expected this to just be another tapinator game but this is EPIC!!! We love how the whole game system is basically chance and you can edit your armor staff and spells, but there are some things that bother us. So the thing is you can use the "free gem" thing and keep using it to get gems from watching a add for a while. We did it to max once and got 84 gems! But again great game and if you don't have it we highly recommend you buy it, addicting, fun, and great to pass the time.

We love this game it's very entertaining we think it's probably the best RPG game ever! We would like to suggest something also. A ranked multiplayer system would be a great addition plus it would give players a chance to earn more stats without the risk of dying and starting the game over. Thanks for reading.

We feel like the update has made the game a bit harder (even World 1), but it's just as fun and addicting as before. Highly recommend.

This game is perfection. It's balanced, it's fun, and it's replayable. It never feels as if the game cheats you when you die, and best of all- it's ad free. In short, get it now.

Perfect blend of dice mechanics, strategic use of spells and rerolls, classic graphics, and unforgettable music. Big thumbs up.

Exactly the type of game we have been waiting for! Short bursts of fun, unique mechanics, and so beautiful. Reminds us of our old Final Fantasy days :).

Overall this game is pretty good, it's a fun, easy to play RPG with little complexity involved, meaning anyone could pick it up and play. Our one complaint is a lack of save files, we already know that you keep your items and gear when you die or get off the game, but it's really tedious and boring to fight through a bunch of weak enemies to get to a real challenging enemy. Keep the whole "if you die you restart" system, but add a feature where if you get off the game you can save your progress and pick up where you left off.

First of all this game is an easy 5 stars, there are very few things we don't like. We love everything about it but the things we don't like are what haven't been included. Some of them being that there's not a multiplayer when there could and should be. It would make the game much much better if you and a friend could go at it together against two enemies at a time. The second thing is just that there's not a whole lot of variety to gear. You can get a few different sets and you can always get stronger gear it seems but it would be cool if it was harder to get those sets because of there being more than 4 or 5… You could also add more than just floating islands pretty easily to add variety and depth. We're in love with Dice Mage, by far the best pixel game we've played on mobile. But it could be much better and much more enjoyable for a longer period of time. Would recommend downloading if you wanna stay entertained. And hopefully the developers decide to add multiplayer into the game at some point down the road. We'd be dropping 5 as soon as they do and continuing to tell our friends to download it as well.

This game is pretty good. The gameplay is simple but hard. There are lots of stages with creative enemies. There are only a few problems. We think you should make it so that the game saves on save files, so you could have multiple ones. We also think that you should add another location besides little floating islands, like maybe a castle where you can meet other people and unlock quests from NPCs. Speaking of that, multiplayer should become a thing. It would make the game feel slightly less boring, along with all of our other ideas. That's pretty much it. Other than that this game is flawless.

Just hope your lucky enough to survive long enough to get some good stuff because we don't even roll this bad in real life. It's almost like the game is consciously trying to make you loose where you'll get 20 bad rolls in a row that's only an uncommon algorithm since that will happen 20 percent of the time.

So far, we have found two things that this game can improve upon. First, on the occasion that you beat an enemy with a spell, the dice won't disappear after the loot. Second, we'd love a restart button. Other than that, the game is amazing.

Fun but we beat the game in a day. Hoping for a sequel with more content.

Really fun game but we would like to be able to mess with the settings without quitting our run.

It honestly is great, it is easy to get gems (pick what you buy wisely otherwise you will run out) because the bosses drop a lot, dying isn't painful because you don't lose anything besides your stats, because u keep your items. There is almost no reason to spend real money on this game, but if you want to support the creators go ahead. Although there are a few problems. If you aren't having a good day your rolls will be bad, some bosses are so long and boring, the minions aren't even challenging half the time. But it is a good game most the time with some good combos, u hope u consider this review.

We love the game but there isn't very many spells in the books it's an amazing game but we can't rate it 5 stars and when you put 10-15 minutes in it you kill everything in 1-3 turns. Quality game but can't rate 5 stars.

Great game. Interesting mechanics and an easy way to kill time whenever. Please make an option to turn the sound off.

This is a fun little game. Dying and starting over isn't actually all that bad since you get better and better equipment, which makes getting back to where you were short and easy. The biggest issue is one particular enemy type – the Shield enemies. All varieties including the grunts, red minibosses, and black boss use Shield and Heal magic so frequently that battles drag on forever. We just finished World 4, Level 3 which was filled with shield guys. Knowing it was going to be a long fight, we clocked how long the boss took. The black shield boss literally took 12 minutes to kill! That's insane! Most bosses only take a couple minutes at most, especially if you've been leveling up and getting better equipment, but the shield guys on later worlds are just a giant nuisance. They're not really hard – we always kill them and never die to them – they just take f…o…r…e…v…e…r.

This game is pretty fun no matter how you play, but it's a little unbalanced. We're on our second run and we're at world 3 so the items are a little OP especially "Dark Knight spellbook of the Master". On the flip side, some of the items seem to disappear all together the further you go. We can't seem to get the "Blessed Staff" over 3 worlds and we haven't seen it. So please rebalance it a little. :).

After you defeat your first enemy if you tap that square you're on it freezes you in place and you have to restart the app.

We gave this three stars because no game is perfect. Also because we only played it for 5 minutes and can't judge really how it plays out once you're further invested. The retro graphics and music give you that Saturday morning, cartoons and video games fuzzy feeling. We did, however, come to the conclusion that this game makes us angry. So….so angry……. We had to remove it from our life.

We really enjoy playing the game, it's interesting, cute, and fun. However, the fact that we can't see the items in our inventory while purchasing an item from a shop or rolling to try to get a good item is SO annoying, that we don't think we can continue having fun with the game.

We like the mechanics and how the ads are set up, what we hate is that there are no progress save points. Starting over from scratch every time we die is getting really old really fast.

Short, simple, sweet kind of game. However… Our game-info-related issues: Is infinite mode the only mode? What happens to your progress when you die? It'd also be nice to understand how the damage amounts of the die work. Do the numbers matter? What are the damage percentages? Here's our non-game-info-related issues with Dice Mage: 1) Like the previous version of the game, there is no incentive to go on after stage 8. The worlds are identical, and the enemy difficulty doesn't increase. 2) The order of enemy difficulty is randomized. A stage 2 minion can have more HP than a stage 7 boss. This can be unfair to beginner players without adequate equipment. 3) The enemies are too easy. They have incredibly low defense points and do little damage. None of the enemies, including the bosses, can match our avatar due to his advanced equipment. We've gotten to world 4 avoiding most of the enemies (thus missing most of the potential upgrades) without losing or coming close to losing once. 4) That said, there were many times when the game was unfair to us. We'd hit the enemy with the die with over 800 damage points and two critical spells, but he puts up one shield and suddenly he loses only 80 HP out of his 10,000. It's frustrating, and not in a good way. 5) The only thing we look forward to now when playing is upgrading our equipment, but even that's come to an end now that our equipment is near max level. World 1, 2, 3…they've just become numbers. There is no risk in losing anymore. In the end, we appreciate Dice Mage for what it is and our initial several hours of gameplay: good-old-fashioned 8-bit RPG fun, which is why we give it 3.5/5 (unfortunately, the App Store doesn't allow half-star increments).

Game was designed so you often hit the reroll button and spend gems with no confirmation. It's right next to all the dice whenever you fight an enemy.

Kinda fun but u can really tell that the dice rolls r rigged. It's also fast pace so it kinda like a just a blow off app if u got nothing better to do.

We give it two stars because we'll be playing the game and one shot all the minions then when we get to the boss we'll have better stats (damage and defense) and we'll die instantly.
