Please make a disgaea 2 phone app and a disgaea 5 app please adel and rozalin are held so dear to heart and killua eating ramen is what we need (more like disgaea 1 app, its plays much better and offline).
- Disgaea 1 Complete has better controls, dood. You could just double-tap a square to move to it or double-tap an enemy to select it for attack. Now you have to hit OK each time. This gets annoying, dood. The touch controls have strange hitboxes in isometric mode and sometimes refuse to select a character. Its okay, since we prefer top-down mode anyway, but other people might be bothered, dood. The Internet connection on start-up is one thing but making us download 3GB after Chapter 1, dood?! Thats brutal, dood Dont tell us Ill have to do this after every chapter. Give us some option to pre-download data at the start, dood. UPSIDES: The graphics are noticeably better than Disgaea 1. That pixel density, dood. The top-down view option works really well. Coming from D1, the new mechanics are cool. The JP voice actors are pretty good. Finally please port the other games, dood! We never bought the sequels! We know theres some issue with the PS3 games, but surely its at least possible to port Disgaea 2? Itd be nice to have a fuller collection, dood.
Pretty solid port. Think it would greatly enhance accessibility to include an option for a d-pad and buttons with adjustable transparency rather than only a touch screen control.
We had the version on PSVita several years ago and their wasnt many issues. Now thats out the way we enjoyed D4 in its entirety one of our all time favorite games beside D5. On the Iphone complete 5/5 stars very playable with little errors or issues. On the IPad though a solid 3 and 3/4 out of 5 their are so many issues from slow down to how the controller layout works. But it still is a solid game to play. If anything 1 update that will fix all that is only needed. Ill revisit this once a update is made. BTW put D2 and DD2 on Apple we guarantee itll be successful.
We have been enjoying using this app and playing Disgaea 4 on our phone / tablet, but wish that the downloading update list check was removed from the beginning of the game. It makes sense that the app would need to update once to play the game, but it doesnt make sense that the app should need an active internet connection in order to be launched each time. The game plays fine once you have gone past this check, but as there are no online elements in the app itself, it would be good if this could be removed so that the game could still be played without an active internet connection.
We highly doubt this will ever get fixed as this game was released and then ignored, but you cannot listen to your own music while playing. Its rather annoying as this is a game meant to be ground out.
This is a fun game and encourages a sort of fun grind. However, it requires a network connection and often hangs on checking for updates both of which make play on airplanes and such difficult.
We love the mobile adaptations of Disgaea however our only complaint is it randomly crashes more then often when playing which is super frustrating. Once that gets fixed it will definitely be 5 stars.
First of all we really love disgaea games! But this one keeps crashing especially when youre in the item world. Imagine youre getting rare items and the game suddenly crashes! We rarely write reviews but this is so frustrating. Especially paying about $35 for this.
You CANNOT play without a constant internet connection.
Before we start, we must state that, we adore Disgaea 4, Ive played it on PS3, PSVita, and Switch, we know its a fun game and a good grind. Its aged beautifully over time and stands as one of the best games in the series. So we were happy to hear that such an experience is on iOS. However, we cannot Recommend this iteration of the game, simply because of issues with the cloud system and data storage. Every time you boot up the game, it checks for update data, this forces you to be WiFi connected in order to launch the game without crashing, this alone isnt a complete deal breaker, but it is aggravating that Disgaea 1 complete never had this issue whilst 4 does. The far worse issue is the cloud system and questionable data storage. Ive seen the game reset our progress several times now without warning, resetting itself to absolute zero, and forcing us to pick a new nickname every time, with no way to get back the old ones. For a game with such a lengthy, deep grind, the possibility of it resetting itself and losing all of your data is an absolute dealbreaker. There is of course the cloud save, in which you can create a copy of a save file in the cloud to grab and download any time, which is fine and good, but this feels like a bandage on a gaping wound, we should not have to manually back up save files just to account for incompetence on the developers end, that function is clearly designed for transferring save data between devices, not as a single solution to a faulty storage problem. This isnt even addressing the other faults in this port like a janky (but manageable) control scheme, the constant crashing in the item world, or the aforementioned inability to boot the game outside of WiFi, those are all manageable, but to have a game that advertises itself as such a masterful rpg, with such an intense grind, commit the cardinal sin of randomly, frequently, deleting everything youve worked for? We cannot recommend an experience like that to anyone. If you want a grind and a taste of Disgaea, consider playing Disgaea 1 Complete on iOS, or trying any of the series on any other system. For the sake of your own effort and time, skip this one.
Great game, but it has a bug that makes it need an internet connection to play. This makes it completely unplayable at the times when Im most likely to play it: flights and train rides. This requirement is stupid and unnecessary (Disgaea 1 doesnt have any such requirement) and it should be fixed.
The game lags in weapons and in Charro world. If between floors 14-18 of a weapon, expect a crash if an enemy does magi-change or demonstrates a new skill.
Listening to music or podcasts in the background would be so amazing.
Please add capability to listen to our own music while playing your game.
Thanks for this wonderful port! Edit: Ive seen some crashing in item world. Please add a virtual (overlaid) D-pad & buttons as an input option! Need a way to sort items without changing sort mode. Also wish auto battle was smarter. Val hurts/kills his own team with AoE attacks. Casters should be casting spells not bashing things with their staff. Lastly, it keeps asking to register a new nickname periodically, and you cant reuse the old one.
Disgaea 4 has changed how we move around in the headquarters. After playing Disgaea 1 on the iPad, the new way seemed like a serious bug that made the game unplayable. Now that we finally see how the new mechanism is intended to work, Ive adapted and it doesnt seem to be an issue now. So, Im giving this game 5 stars, since we have enjoyed both this game and others in the series so much on the Playstation in the past. This game might seem like a lot of money, but if you really get into it, you can expect to enjoy hundreds of hours of gameplay, which makes its price quite a bargain (in dollars per hour). :).
Please allow other apps to have audio priority, either as a fix or at the very least when Disgaea 5 is ported which we will buy immediately.
We love the game, but it suffers the same problem the first Disgaea port has. YOU CANT PLAY BACKGROUND MUSIC OR VIDEOS WHILE PLAYING. For a game about grinding, having stuff on in the background is critical, and this is a big issue. Please fix, NIS.
Ive been looking forward to the next Disgaea game on mobile and Im happy its 4! Ive played it on the Switch and it was a very fun game so Im excited to have it on our phone now as well! The opening anime cutscene is a bit choppy and the sprites look a bit off but other than that its good so far. Bring on Disgaea 5 Complete next please.
