Community Insight:
We are an 1L who has devoted all our leisure time to this beautiful subject. And this game really makes us feel much better when we stay up late for writing assignments and readings.
We stinking love this game! We had to play it for Government class, and we were highly adicted to it. Plus, we figured out a way for us to access it as a visually impaired girl. Take screenshots and zoom in if you cant read whats on the screen. Thats how we do it. If youre fully blind, we would recommend getting help.
We want you to make this game easier and we dont want clients to be upset. Thanks.
Could we possibly get an extend the game other than have the 7 days and then have to repeat the game again . We should have a choice of weather or not we want a new game! Other than that the game is GREAT! Its so addictive Ive been playing it for some days continuously we really love it and Ive learned so much in like 2 days ! Fun game.
We love this game, we just started playing and we really like the game but we were sad when we got to day 7 and the game ended, could you guys possibly make it so we can have a choice to continue or start a new game. If you continue the game would please make it so you can get a new firm.
We find two initial aspects of the game disturbing. One is that there is no choice of genders for the law firm partners. They are male. Wasnt icivics founded by a female Supreme Court Justice? What message does this send to people using the app? Two is the length of the last name for the partner. Its too short. Must players of the game have shortened last names? When playing the game it should allow us to represent ourselves, not some shortened, possibly anglicized, name. None the less we like the concept of the game.
Good fun homework but you cant go over 7 days sooo.
Hi! We love this game because its fun and educational. The only thing is, we dislike how you can only play seven days, then it resets. Took us half an hour to finish. Could you please add more levels? Thanks, Blue.
Hello, we love this game. We like learning about the amendments and running our own little law firm. But, we dont like how there is a certain amount of days to the game. We want to be able to keep running our law firm instead having to do it all over again. But everything else, is great. Thanks.
We can only play 7 days before we stop! Great game but plz do something about it.
We like it a lot but it only has seven days and it would be fun to add a free play mode.
We love this game, we find it really fun, but because you can only do seven days we finish in about 30 minutes. We really wish there was more to do.
Good but needs more then 7 days.
This game is fun and helps us learn some of the rights in the bill of rights but is also entertaining while doing it. It is also simple and easy to learn how to play. However some of the scenarios aren't realistic and most likely wouldnt happen in real life. Although most of the scenarios are likely it seems that they are very repetitive and some are just stupid and unrealistic. Its very simple and all you have to do is answer if something is a right or not and then send them to court about it. We would recommend it to other people because it is entertaining for your first two games but then it just starts getting boring because it is always the same things and court cases. We think they should improve this by making it have a larger variety of cases and make it so you can have more lawyers.
7 days?! Thats it?! You guys need to figure out a way to make the game last longer! Its too good to only have 7 (game) days worth of gameplay. WE MEED MORE. Ive been playing for nearly 4 years. Its time for an update folks.
We just got the game LOVED playing we got really good at it then after 7 days it said no more plz let us KEEP GOING or else we're changing into a one.
The interface is between slow and unresponsive. It is also not a bit intuitive. We applaud the intention, but get some programmers who know how to do this.
This game is very fun! We played it school and we love to do it, even at home! What an amazing game.
We played this game in class today, and it was so much fun! A fun way to learn the constitution, and you barely even know that you're learning.
This app is misleading and will miseducate the public it's language while using legal terminology will continue to promote a false representation of the law….we suggest you study the Constitution for the the United States of America, for it is the Supreme law of the Land. These amendments are very vague….and the Law is specific, and ignorance of the Law is no excuse peace.
We. Fell. In. Love. We want to be a lawyer when we grow up so when we found this game and played it where we RUN our own LAW FIRM????!!!!! We literally went insane because we were practically living the dream!!!!!!! It was all we talked about and played non stop for DAYS…. You and 99% of the world would probably think we are over exaggerating and you are probably right but to us this is a big deal because being a lawyer and striving to go to Rice is our ultimate life goal. ANYWAY. Long story short this an amazing game that is super fun to play and ya. But a suggestion to the game makers is that you should also make some games that you have on your website (we would download them in a heartbeat btdubs) and for this game maybe extend the time to 14 days or so instead of 7.
Really fun and helped us get an 100 on our bill of rights test.
The game is great it is soo educational and it really teaches you about the bill of rights. It is quick paced and you have lots of opportunities to customize your office and make it better. If there is one thing we would change is the length of the game. On icivics.org you can resume your game and keep playing on and on. It would be awesome if this game was like that. But it's still a fun game and a great experience for kids.
We were on brain pop for no apparent reason when we came across icivics games. We are addicted mainly because social studies is epic. Get this now.
This app is one of our favorite apps. Because it's not only fun, it teaches you aswel. Which is just pretty awesome! Love this app :3.
Great game to know your rights as a U S citizen. Would appreciate extended time on building the firm.
We hope they eventually make game play a little longer or add more levels. It's great.
The game is amazing and well-made, addicting and very educational at the same time. Perfect for remembering and learning the individual rights. However, the fact that we are only allowed to play for seven days limits the gameplay greatly. Please add more? Many thanks! Amazing game.
This is a very fast paced game that keeps you on your toes! It's a great game and fun way to learn or refresh your memory of our many amendments, personal rights and governing laws. It definitely mixes education with time management skills.(to curb frustration in the beginning, you may want to take notes on each lawyers skills and expertise so you don't waste time or lose clients!) Its a game that you will want to play again & again! We just wish each "session" would last longer- as soon as you have built up a successful firm and have the hang if it, it abruptly ends- giving you a status report on your knowledge, strengths and weaknesses- cases won/lost, etc- which is neat to see, but then you have to start another one. It would be FAR more enjoyable to be able to have one continuous game, with some 'Sims' like interactions- maybe play against other lawyers/firms…? One defending one prosecuting and add bonuses as you play and win cases, along with game upgrades, etc. We think that would really enhance the playing experience. But for now, it's really fun & pleasantly addicting. :).
We felt the need to rewrite our review, in the previous version they had a bug with the 2nd amendment that made us think there was an agenda. But, after we wrote them, we got a very quick response. The web version of the game did not share this bug, and they were working on a fix. In less than a week, the update ws out, fixing the issue, and settling it for us – it was a mistake, not an agenda. So now, the game, the lessons taught, as well as the customer service and communication, well, they all rate an A+ by us. Thanks for fixing this great teaching game.
Some issues prevent this game from being a fair challenge. One when you have a few clients in the waiting room and they are on the couch it is difficult to click a specific one. This can result in a cascade of exiting clients as you attempt to click the right one but your finger covers two to three of them. Second clicking the water/coffee machine will result in the avatar going to the other side of the room . We had 34 wins and then lost all the clients on the last day because our avatar wouldn't get coffee or even be near the couches after heading to the other side of the room. We rage deleted the game. Otherwise, great game for issue spotting.
We loved this game and we love being a law firm, but it should have been longer. Then, it would get a five star from us.
The game is fun but short because of the fact that it stops after a seven day play time. But it really does keep you on your toes and helps refresh our constitutional rights. We would suggest some things but we'll leave it to everyone else.
Dear Filament Games,we have written this to tell you that our school Pace Brantley Hall school. LongWood Fl love you game and have grown fond of your game. Our teacher Mrs.K Nichols wants us to play it and we would like for you to make a version where it is longer to play. Thank you for your time. Sincerely A Pace student.
Please add an unlimited mode after you finish the seven days, so we can play it longer.
Can you please add this for the iPhone/iPods. We love this game and it would be 5 stars if you make it for them!!!!!!!!!!!:):):).
This app is really fun and educational (but in a good entertaining way)! It's addicting! We just wish the "weeks" would be a little bit longer so you could enjoy it more. Overall, this app is pretty awesome.
Good game, please make it loop, where you don't stop the same game, and have unlimited time to play.
We really enjoy this game and think it could be very educational. But we would love to see the ability to continue playing past the 7 days. There are a lot of perks you could buy with the prestige, but there is no way to get through most of them in the time allowed. Maybe have another rival firm open up after the other one shuts down.
Our school supplies students with iPads and they said we can download games but they have to be educational so we're usually shopping for apps in the educational section of the App Store. When we found this, we got pretty excited because we're interested in law games/sims. We were extremely disappointed when we beat the game in one sitting. The game stops the game and deletes your save when you hit a certain point. We have seen other fun games that pretty much stop after a certain point but they still allow you to build on your file. This game would be a lot better if there were more levels and more upgrades to get.
Has good potential but the characters don't always respond as directed. We're a lawyer and was curious. Kind of fun and informative but it is a work in progress.
This is a fun and interactive way to learn about your rights but the game is too short. It needs to be endless. We would buy a version that allowed us to keep expanding our office and hire more lawyers. And take on more cases with more issues.
Take it for what it's worth – entertainment and nothing more. Appears to have been developed by a group of high school Con Law students or freshmen law students. Be careful not to use this as educational tool. It fails on multiple counts. Two that we found almost immediately are 2nd Amendment cases (right to bear arms) & right to privacy – actually protected under 3rd, 4th, 5th, & 14th. Not a bad rough start, but nothing more than entertainment.
We LOVE THIS GAME! Great way to make learning constitutional amendments fun.
We teach technology, yet found this app worth playing. It helped remind us of the amendments wherein we found ourselves playing it nonstop for an hour. We plan to recommend this app to the Business Law teacher to use the first two days of class to help her students learn important federal laws for reinforcement purposes. Kudos to the creator.
Our school has this app downloaded on its iPads and we got to play it during civics the other day and we absolutely LOVED it! We don't have an iPad so when we went home we checked if we could buy it for our iPod but it's not available for iPods :'(. We REALLY LOVE THIS GAME and we want it for our iPod sooooooo bad so could you pleeeeeease make it for iPods? It would make us sooooooo happy! Also the game really needs to be waaaaaaaay longer. We were pretty dissapointed when we had to start over :( LOVE THIS GAME <3.
We wish it were this easy to get new clients!!! Addicting, fun, challenging, informative.
Can u make an app for executive command.
Really like this game although it only gives you 7 days. 7 turns or however you wanna say it. Should be longer. All the reviews support that it should be longer. Also, it would be great to have an identical game that pertains to different types of law we.e. Family law, criminal law, tort law etc. This game really helps you learn the constitutional rights and you can do it while having fun with it. Give us more. We love it and would support games like this. Thanks.
- It would be great if the game didn't end. Not sure why it needs to except that maybe there aren't too many client scenarios yet? 2. It would be nice to know more specifically why a case was won or lost (especially lost – obviously). Since some won cases have weird scenarios, knowing why that case was won would be helpful. And, of course, when a case is lost, it would be good to know if the person simply did not have that right or whether the lawyer applied the wrong amendment. 3. And when we turn down a good case, it would be great if there was some type of pop-up that said why it was a bad choice to turn them down. In all though, this app is awesome! We highly recommend it.
