While a Doctor Who game will nearly always get our attention, this one quickly revealed that regardless of how well you figure it out, or how well you play, overall success is in direct proportion to how much you are prepared to pay. Otherwise you keep hitting almost made it challenges as you always seem to be one or two items short of what is required to accomplish the major goals. And then the ads, which you are forced to attempt to skip through four or five times on average to get out of them in order to collect what is frequently a minimal reward . Unfortunately, this model appears to be getting increasingly common. Guess it is time to find some new diversions.
Updated the app this morning and now most features don't work right. Can't progress further in the main game and the event due to the glitches. Because of the glitches, we now can't even get into the event.
Its a good game for Doctor Who fans. Fair warning it is pretty addicting especially if youre trying to unlock your favorite characters by doing quests or challenges.
It is a shame they charge so much money for the premium perks. If they werent so greedy, this game would be great. Who pays $15-30 for a perks package on an app? We would pay no more than $5 for any transaction. Too expensive.
Been playing for awhile, a glitch Ive had happen many times is where Ill spend some gems to get another character upgraded quicker, then Ill stop playing for a minute, come back maybe an hour later, and its back to when we didnt upgrade it, but Im still missing those gems. Went from Martha saying we needed 2.5j to unlock auto collect back to lvl 1 with no upgrades. Also, many events glitch out the special currency and it stays at 0, but when you go to upgrade it then will show how many you have. Kind annoying. They update this all the time, supposedly. Ive had this game for months, and they still havent fixed those issues.
We love this game and we found it completely addicting. From a gameplay standpoint it's pretty basic, but unlike most tycoon-style games you can oscillate between a long campaign and shorter ones which keeps things fun and exciting, while still having long-term payout. For our fellow whovians, the story aspects is a fun add on and really goes a long way into why we like this app. As someone who has played it every day for months on end we would highly recommend it.
It is so fun to play but so many ads and slow sections.
The game was cool until it glitched out and now is at a screen for us to click on an icon but we cant click on it. We would close out of the game and open it back up just to come up to the same screen. We even uninstalled it and reinstalled it. It worked for a little bit and then back to the same unresponsive screen. We stopped using it for a while and just downloaded it again. It worked for 30 minutes and then the same screen came up. Is there some kind of update or patch that can be added to stop this.
Even though eventually itll get to a point where you cannot continue without either paying money or wasting 2 whole weeks on one episode, its still pretty fun up to that point.
If you have a large bank account then itll be great. But if you enjoy slow games with acceptable storylines its good. Aside from the money it would take to win, there also is the fact that no matter how much you level up K9 or the TARDIS, the tap rate stays the same even though you leveled up the tap rate.
We downloaded this game a few hours ago and we enjoy it a lot.
Im enjoying playing the game as long as we dont keep losing our progress for whatever reason. We leave and come back and in some instances the progress we made is gone.
This is a game that is like the add this is relay a game for doctor who.
The last two times we have logged into the game it has reverted to past time in the event we had unlocked the third and fourth station the total in the bottom corner is correct at 203ae but it n the regular part of the event the highest we have is AB.
Wish the ninth doctor was included.
This game is so fun! We always love pointing out references and stuff when we see it. Im not that far in yet but already enjoying it so much.
The game has a new update that freezes the game out. Cannot even begin to play. Please fix.
Suddenly there are advertisements when you open a kerblam thats wasnt there before. Its a serious interruption of game flow.
We enjoy the game and the story line. However there are now ads with the free rewards. Not sure it is worth it anymore.
This would be perfect except that ads have been added that give you 2 upgrade currency that appear at random times when you open a kerblam box. Why? Developers, please remove this.
Theres no real purpose or reason to play. It doesnt really make sense and theres no objective really. Its rather boring. Its your basic game but theres no victory or challenge or anything.. We love who, thats the only reason we stuck around this far but Ill be deleting soon.
Loved this game for a long time. Liliana lot of time but now every time you open a free Kerlam (box) you get stuck sitting through more ads. Forcing us to watch ads on something that didnt have ads before is a slap on the face to all of us players who have stuck with this game for years.
It gets stuck on watching video and keeps just turning into a circle showing you was doing something but it never does the only way he does turn it to get out of there so turn off the game or get out of the game then restart and it does the same thing over and over again doesnt work need to repair.
We like the game. It is fun to play. The downside is you have to watch ads for everything and so you spend your day watching ads. You can pay a hefty monthly subscription fee to get rid of SOME ads. For that price all ads should be gone. Then if you want to progress you have to spend extra money for more perks. We admit we paid for it for a couple of months and it got just too expensive. Dont download unless you have gobs of expendable cash.
This game genuinely is like addicting we love it.
Its not bad, good for when you are bored.
Only complaint is no ninth doctor. And we guess eighth doctor too.

We did have to delete our original game to play again because it glitched But now its working fine even though we had to start from the beginning again.
App is very glitchy and just stopped working. It wont let us go past where we are, the app literally just sits at a blank screen. So done with this game.
Enjoyable enough game. Would love if there were mini-games you could play to earn henoch matter while you wait for waypoints to load. Otherwise love the game.
In events the option to watch an ad to double earning while you were away is broken. It will show a string of in app purchases with a painfully long time between dismissing one and seeing the next, during this time you cant interact with the game. Events also make you do an annoying forced tutorial when you start them that should have an option to skip after a couple events as you know the mechanics at that point. Loved the crossover event with the lower decks game by the same developer. It was cool having a simultaneous event in both games, and seeing the characters in both games art styles. Our minor quibbles also apply to the lower decks game. Still, if you like idle games and long for a madman in a blue box to whisk you away, this is the game for you.
We want to personally shout out whoever came up with this most recent event, specifically The Producers reference. We would pay good money to see a full-length Doctor Who Dalek-ified Springtime for Hitler. The game is great if you are a Doctor Who fan but the micro-transactions are very predatory. Stay away from this game if you dont have the self control to remain free-to-play. The prices are incomprehensible for what is being offered.
Im a big Doctor Who fan. Ive enjoyed playing this game, but Im giving it up. Theres just way too many ads. Its to the point that we feel like Im spending more time watching ads than actually playing the game. And no, we dont want to spend $24.99 a month to go ad free. We dont think its worth it.
We are a longtime fan of Doctor Who, and when we found this game we were enthralled!! We have been playing for the last few months and it is very nice for those who enjoy formats such as AdVenture Capitalist, and the rewards systems individually seem very fair and balanced. However, the one comment we will make is regarding the pay-to-access rewards that make it essentially impossible to place within the top 50 of many events. We understand the ultimate purpose of this within the story-mode, but it takes much of the hope out of playing events! Love the show and game, but not enough to drop 4-15 dollars for extra cards or diamonds on a 24 hour event (with all respect possible). Would definitely recommend this game, just know some aspects of the game (specifically the events) appear somewhat as pay to win.
Quick, to save him from the time vortex all he needs is your moms credit card number and the three whacky numbers on the back! AGGRESSIVELY monetized is an understatement. Theres a 7 day challenge to unlock the 14th Doctor and a challenge on day 2 is literally make a purchase lol. Its an otherwise good little game thats fun to have going in the background, though we dont know if Id play it if it werent branded Doctor Who. We know they wont change the monetization, but if we had one suggestion itd be to add something to fidget with when youre waiting for stuff to happen like a TARDIS console with switches to pull and buttons to press. We know the idea is to make you so bored you spend money to speed it up, but honestly it just makes us close the app.
Ive been playing the game since the beginning and as the game has evolved, there has been more and more problems. This last game has been very glitchy. We played the same as we do normally. Im usually in the top 10 finishers. Im usually between first and fifth place, But for some reason, even after putting in extra effort this time, Im not even close to being able to get any crystals. It seems like the game is not accepting all of the upgrades correctly. We dont mind putting in extra money once in a while, but it has been getting very very hard to, justify playing the game if youre not getting what youre paying for. Ive been very disappointed, we were hoping that the game would have less problems by this time. We love playing anything to do with Doctor Who, but lately Im not sure which way this game is going? We would love to give the game five stars out of five stars, but again Im not sure if the game is accepting all of our upgrades?? It would be nice to let players know what changes you are going to be adding to the game before you make the changes. This last game has been very confusing.

So we absolutely love doctor who which makes us automatically love this game if you dont mind all the money grabbing left and right. The different doctors are wholesome. The stories are cute. We really like it, just not our wallet.
Dont get us wrong we absolutely love the game but the in game events that only last 1 day are stupid and the 3 day events you have to play the event every day all day to get every single reward on the event.. And then the leader bored a event just started as Im writing this and there should be no one past AB HOW IS SOMEONE ALREADY AT AP with the event being open for an hour we spend a hour in only at AA.
We love the game and am super invested but the only ads that pop up on this game are so inappropriate and for smut stories.
Although fun, as with most pay to play games, the difficulty in progressing the main story becomes more and more difficult unless youre willing to pay. The side quests are fun and can give some bonuses, but also have the pay to play problem. If we wasnt a diehard dr who fan, Id delete this after about a week.
We spent several weeks playing this game, it always made us frustrated enough to quit. But that seems invasive little thought away in the back of your head. If this was the last starfighter of mobile games, it would be for you to crush people and destroy them. To think about numbers and money and crunching them more than anything else. This game is a terrible game. And we are still going to play it because we are equal parts OK and the thing we just said.
Liked the Doctor Who storylines and the game mechanics. Deleted because of obscene ads. Also didn't like how it was impossible to finish the event storylines without purchasing absurdly priced packages.
Edited: This game is FANTASTIC! (Speaking of which, they should add the Ninth Doctor.) For people who say its boring, we disagree. We love the new Season Pass feature. The support team is super helpful. They fixed the issue below in under 24 hours! Original: Sorry for the 1-star review. Ill take it down as soon as you resolve this, we promise. So, in the most recent Season Pass, with the Autons in Kerb!am, one of the rewards was Donna Noble. We collected all the Donna rewards, only to find that shes the 60th Anniversary Donna, not the Series 4 one. She didnt show up in the Tenth Doctors TARDIS, she just went to the regular Character collection, presumably to go with the Fourteenth. And so we have the wrong Donna. After we had completed the Season Pass, someone fixed this and put Series 4 Donna in the pass, but it was too late for us. We cant re-collect the rewards. Suggestion: send a gift in the Inbox with at least one Series 4 Donna card, if not the 15 cards we would have gotten from the pass. Please fix this! Thanks! BTW, if you need to send the gift to just us, our player name is the same as the name on this review. Original review retained for proof that this issue is indeed a glitch, for anyone else who has experienced this.
Great game! Very entertaining and engaging.
We're a long time player. We even tried the Star Trek version (same game, different characters). They keep up with new characters and content updates, which we appreciate. There is an occasional glitch that we have to resolve with an app restart. Our biggest issue is the flash of bright white screen when you claim a reward (which is frequent). The game itself is fairly dark, so it's kinda painful, especially if playing in dim lighting. We've taken to closing our eyes for a few seconds when we hit claim.
Ive been playing this game for a while, but we were pretty disappointed to find out how many characters arent in this game. The game doesnt include any companions from the first or second doctor era, excluding Polly wright and Ben Jackson. And the game just doesnt have the 9th Doctor at all? Instead we get a bunch of characters who were only there for one episode like Christina de la Souza, but the longest running companion, Jamie mcrimmon, isnt even in the game? Please add more characters.
Had high hopes but this turned out to be a click, wait, click game designed to frustrate players into micro purchases. Exceptionally repetitive build for two days and then start all over. Disappointing.
