Ive have this app on our phones for over 12 years and it still gets a lot of play.
We had to repurchase and was not happy about it, but we noticed that it had been updated with new lanes. Definitely worth repurchasing.

Hello we've had this for a long time. When we were looking for a bowling game to play this was the only one we found that was easier to play. Using our finger. To roll the ball Mimicking a real bowling experience. We were wondering, if were going to get a full screen ad? Why is there an ad at the top of the game? This is overkill on the ads.
The only issue we have is with the new sounds. We loved the simplistic sound effects that were used years ago. Paper flipping, drum sets, and a rock organ. Not this weird, bubbly, flash-game soundboard that hardly fits any maps. We dont know if others feel this way, but it would be awesome if there were sound effect customizations similar to the maps; earn stars to change sound effects, bowling balls, pins, etc.
We absolutely love this game. We love it so much that we paid to make it ad free, however, THE ADS KEEP SHOWING UP!?!?!?!?!? Dont pay for the upgrade we would like our money back.

We played this a long time ago, the interruption of ads is awful, deleted.
Well, we had never really had any issues with this game, but we recently lost a lot of stars that took a while to earn, all because the game crashed and erased our progress. So, Im pretty freaking annoyed right now.
The new video ads that started popping up indiscriminately are not acceptable and we stopped playing the game today! Todays ad opened w a woman screaming at the top of her lungs. We often play this game when we cant sleep and the unexpected screaming awakens our wife and even startles ME! Stop w these tasteless, annoying ads.
Throw a perfect ball and all fall but one and its leaning but doesnt fall. Thats BS !! Been 1 pin short of a perfect game many many times because of this issue. And how do you stop the hundreds of commercials between each game or when you hit the home button.
We earned several fun and exciting themes but now they're gone. Remaining 2-3 themes are boring or simply ugly. Even the basic hardwood floor theme is gone. VERY FRUSTRATING! Otherwise, a fun game.
We got the Doodle Bowling app several iPhones ago. We installed it on our current phone after a few years, and a few things have changed, but its still fun to play. The only challenge we have is that there have been instances where it will close out immediately after it adds to our score. When we go back in, our score isnt updated.
This game is very fun to play daily. Knowing we will be playing it every evening gives us something to look foreword too. Great game, lots of fun, each game is better than the last one.
We love this game and we always have. There may be a lot of ads but just turn off your WiFi and data and the game runs fine without any interruptions.
We used to like this game until an add for Animation Showdown played and showed Peter Griffin walk into a room and then his wife said God what the hll are you wearing!. To make things worse our mom was in the car and was disturbed by the inappropriate ad that had just played without our consent. We didnt even choose to watch an ad to get 30 stars. You should think twice before getting sponsored willy-nilly. Since this game is rated 4+ we expect the ads not to include swear words. We are disappointed and expect to have this game to have age-appropriate ads. We expect appropriate ads to play from now on.
Just one thing. The app looks like the Japan flag. Lol we dont really care though.
Best bowling game Ive tried – simple, to the point, no poop like the others. We enjoy doodle games, like Doodle Jump, and this one wins a place right next to it.
The game has started crashing occasionally and when it does, we lose all our collected points. Love this game.

We've been playing this game for somewhere around 4 years. This last update brought a big and very welcomed improvement to the physics of the game. The additional lanes are also a pleasant addition. The change to the "star" system to purchase additional lanes is a neutral change for us. Found bugs: If you hit "play again" before all the stars collect at the end of the game they don't get counted and "get stuck" above the frame, uncollected. Next, if you throw a low speed roll the ball will sometimes bounce back up the lane. The lane doesn't time out and reset if this happens and you're stuck, having to restart the game. Next, on some lanes the ball may bounce off into the gutter after a strike. Then this happens it scores a strike but you do not get the extra star for a strike. Finally, while the physics are vastly improved, you still sometime have an occurrence where a pin begins to tip over but the frame resets for the second shot and the pin is reset, not counted on the first shot. No biggie All in all still our favorite game app and the update was a big improvement.
FINALLY GOT AN UPDATE YEEEES. We've been playing this app since it came out, and was looking for an update eventually.
Finally! We've had this game since like 2009 on an iPod touch. We now have an iPhone 7 and am so thrilled to see the developer still keeping it up to date. The old version was pretty sluggish and the physics were not the best. This new version is fantastic. It's still challenging to get a strike but isn't that the point? Now when we miss a strike, we can see the path the ball took whereas before it looked like a strike roll but not all the pins would fall. We are pleased and excited to play this game again.
The latest update gives Doodle Bowling a nice new UI and quite a few new lanes to purchase. Although ads were introduced, it shouldn't be a big deal since you can easily remove them with a one time IAP. Even without that the ads are not too intrusive. They have also included a watch video to earn 30 pts feature. Although we're not thrilled with this, you'll still gain much more points from your average game so it's not a progress-breaker.
Only wish would be for more options to be available to earn—different balls, pins, etc.
The physics overhaul is a welcome surprise. The star system for purchasing different alleys is cool. Downside is not being able to "preview" a new alley before purchase. You have no idea what you get before you spend your stars.
We really love this game. But theres one thing that needs to be fixed, WHENEVER we try to bowl it always has an ad, so we think its annoying. It really needs to be fixed. Thats why we only gave it 3 stars.
Many of the strikes we get nowadays are totally unrealistic and some just plain silly. We think you have taken the challenge away. We much prefer the old version.
But, there was an update or something, and we lost all the skins we had earned so far! Other than that, it's fun.
Ive played this for years. Since our first smart phone. Im not one to usually complain about free games… However, it is frustrating to unlock a bunch of themes, just to come back to the game later and have them all be locked again. We can deal with the occasional untimely ad in the middle of rolling the ball, but to spend time to watch ads, and to spend time to play the game, to unlock things… Its super frustrating for those things to glitch out and become locked again.
We paid for what should be an ad free version of this. But consistently while we are playing ads for other purchases pop up and they deduct the points that we had earned. We did not click on them and we don't want to click on them.This needs to be fixed.
Sometimes strikes count as gutter balls. That is sort of a problem.
We got a new iPhone 8 and when it went to download all our apps from the old phone, this app wont download? Is there a problem with the app, is it still available? We really like the game, bummed that we cant play it.
We watched COUNTLESS ads to be able to get new lanes, only to find that when we exit the app and go back to it later, the additional lanes disappeared and have to be acquired all over again. Id give this waste of time zero stars if we could.
Ad glitch makes it impossible for gameplay. After every shot, which is ruined anyway, because of the slowness, the ads take us out of the game and onto the App Store. Can't even play. And if we could, we wouldn't really like it either.
UPDATE: Now this app has stupid ads that repeatedly force-open up Safari with some "You're today's lucky winner!!!" crap. Every time we go back to the app it takes us right back to the spam link in Safari. We'll delete this app before you force us to pay to get rid of this crap. We've had this app for years; in fact, it's the very first app we ever purchased. Now the update brought stupid annoying pop-up video ads, and you want us to pay $3.99 to get rid of them. No, thank you. We would have paid to receive the updated features, but don't force your long-time users to pay to get rid of a sudden onslaught of ads.
We have played this for years. Doesn't play the same. Slower and more cartoonish. Please give us our old app back. Why mess with a good thing. Maybe we'll get use to it but right now we're mad that they ruined it.
The Theme of realistic looking lane was great, a super challenge and played it a few games daily for years. Now it's muddled, brown, blurry pins … A tragedy. Is there any way we can cancel the update? We'll pay.

We think it is a really cool game to play and no we do not think it is a boring piece of crap like the one person said about tron legacy the movie we saw a couple days ago.

Ok really like this app. It's fun and a great way to take up time when ur board. But it needs to be easier to steer the ball. Maybe u could just tilt the iPod/iPad to move it. Also it needs to be a little easier to earn more tickets or coins or whatever they are. Like tha game needs more improvement. And how about some more backgrounds or even be able to make ur own background!!!!!! THAT WOULD BE SO COOL!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway we do recommend it to all. So bye.
