Doug dug. is a Casual/Action game from The Electric Toy Company LLC, first launched in 5th May 2014.
It’s rated 4+ and currently has 185+ ratings on the App Store.

What Makes Doug dug. Stand Out

Doug is a Dwarf. Doug loves digging. Well, actually he doesn't: what he likes is to find buried treasure. Anyway, one day Doug decided to gather as much treasure from as deep under the earth as he could go. So Doug dug. And he dug. And he fought monsters and avoided massive avalanches of falling rock. And then he dug some more. And he picked up lots of bling.

Now it's your turn. Help Doug dig deep down under the earth in the quest for shimmering jewels and precious gold. Go farther and deeper than any of your friends. Find more gold than anyone in the world. Oh but watch out for colossal cave-ins. No they're really colossal—you won't believe it. And creepy monsters. And bottomless pits. Ah, don't worry it's just a game.

Do you like Spelunky? Dig Dug? Well c'mon you like Minecraft don't you? Well then you'll like this. Plus it's cheaper. And better. Plus your friends are playing it and you don't want to be left out, do you? Or maybe no one is playing it, in which case you'll be the one who introduces all your friends to "Doug dug." Then everyone will say, "Hey look there goes your name here who introduced us to 'Doug dug' and who is therefore cooler than the rest of us because he/she discovered it first." One of those two great options is bound to happen.

So what are you waiting for?

Doug dug. Will you?

Community Insight:

This game is amazing we play it every day.

The music is really good and the graphics look great and the gameplay is cool.

Simple but fun and interesting enough to keep us playing. The cave-ins are our favorite.

Yes free to play until you get to 500 meters deep, then .99 to go deeper, one time purchase. Thats okay, because it will probably take quite a few tries to get to 500 meters so a player can decide if its worth it. Or just play a new game and stop at 500. We ended up doing the .99. Im not an avid game player, though we wish we had the free time to be one, and this game is perfect for that situation. One life, no mercy. But a favorite for us is the fact that you can close the app any time and it when you restart it it will be right where you left off. Can you dig it.

This is the type of games we love! We would totally buy it even if it costs $10. This game is straight up good and the developer is still active. The mechanics are very interesting such as how the blocks fall, how to kill enemies, etc. This game is so addicting, we play this game every opportunity we have. Keep up the good work and we support you 100%. We have some suggestions you may want to add the game but totally your choice! Suggestions – The Ghost Mummy shouldnt spawn above the player. (This happened to us once maybe its a bug but it killed us instantly) -we probably havent gotten down enough into the mines but if there isnt, add new areas where the block materials are different and engaging. New enemies. (Maybe add some sort of boss?) -Have a store to buy just skin characters but not upgrading shovels because it could possibly ruin the game. -More power-ups such as, a bomb/C4 you can drop and explode (Press the button again to activate the explosion), double money value, and more. Some people are having a misunderstanding about the $0.99 upgrade. Read the app History Updates and the developer explains why he made that choice. But yeah we would buy it over and over again if we had too. Outstanding game.

If you bought the game and cant go past 500m, restore in-app purchases. Its a solid game to play every once in a while, definitely worth 99 cents.

Throughout hours of gameplay we have pieced to together bits of the lore to discover the games/Dougs theme/message. When you start the game you see a serene sunset with the last bit of twilight kissing the open plains of the land. This god given beauty doesnt satisfy Doug, for he is human, and we are sinful creatures distracted by greed and lust. Doug is drawn to the riches of the underground despite it environmentally ravaging the land. He braves hellish creatures of the deep and even lava simply out of lust for the splendor and wealth of the earth. Eventually, you/Doug perish, and in your last moments, youll always wish you stayed at the surface.

This game is good but get boring after a while. We have lost interest in it almost completely. We think that this game has opportunity to expand. We would say this game is not worth buying currently. We could happily throw out to the builders of this game many ideas to make this game more fun. One annoying thing, we think that the 100 saved high scores prompting its a new high-score should be limited. Basically feels like Im getting the high score every game. It should be changed because there should only be ONE high-score.

Hello we've purchased this game for a year ago but after an update to the free yesterday the lava keep blocking us when reached 500m. Have been tried to restore purchased and it said successfully restored but it's keep us blocked when reached 500m. Please help. Update: its worked now with the latest update. Thanks anyway.

Ive been obsessed with this game and trying to get as far as we can. We finally reached 500 meters and was prompted that we have to pay $.99 to continue. A little disappointing, we were not expecting to have to pay. Shame on the developer for trying to charge in a free game with no notice.

We really liked this game at first. The part we dont like is right Im the middle of winning, at least at the end of the first level and as your dropping down to fight the dragon, the game freezes and it prompts you to enter your Apple ID and purchase, or quit. Such and underhanded and sneaky tactic. Mind you this game is a copy from a game called Dig Dug from the 80s. We cant delete this game fast enough.

We bought this game many years ago, and have enjoyed jumping In every so often to see how far we could get. When we went back to it today after about a year, we were shocked to discover that theres a newly added paywall, in a game we already owned the paid version of. This game has been stolen from its users.

Good game but the main character is pretty much a gold digger, lol.

First off we wanna say we love the feed back that happens when you die. Like this one time we wanted gold and we dug it out and the whole top part collapsed on us and it said greed we started laughing constantly, its a really enjoyable and fun game we like seeing our ghost everywhere too Im not sure yet if you can spend money you make on things but that would be cool if you can either way Im still going to play this game a lot we gave it 5 stars cause we just enjoyed how it was made and we like the collapsing dirt and the ability to change the characters ghost to other things which Ive been using to say how we died. Love the game thanks for making it. Its made our day.

This game is challenging and highly addictive. Initially we were looking for Dig Dug, but found this instead. Good game.

Superbly addicting. Went looking for Dig Dug and found this instead. We were happily impressed.

This was our favorite game BECAUSE it was free. Now you gotta pay and thats not ok. Very sad.

We are giving this game a one star rating as now it is needed to pay for an upgrade get past level 100. It was a fun game, but too many things cost too much money and Ive already put enough money into these kind of games. Unfortunately we will now have to remove this game from our iPhone and iPad. Thanks for the memories.

Used to be great. Now forced to upgrade what we already paid for. No no no. Shove your game.

This is our airplane game. Really fun. Replayable. Everyone in our family loves it including the kids (ages 7,11,14) and our wife.

This is one we keep coming back to. Simple fun of digging. Taking risks. And dying a ton in funny and crazy ways. We hate the ghosts and wish we cold start at a higher difficulty but still fun all the same.

Our favorite iOS game for many years and probably forever.

It does exactly what all handheld games should do: simple gameplay, no timer, allows one to challenge ones self a little for a casual minute or consider complex strategies for the deep dive turn when you have 10 minutes – and losing that turn is no big deal. Phit needs to be updated to work again too! PLEASE!! It was equally a perfect game.

Pretty fun but the swipe controls arent ideal. Could really use a directional pad option.

Superbly addicting. Went looking for Dig Dug and found this instead. We were happily impressed. However, when we finally got to 500 feet, it blocks you from continuing on. With almost $100K, we were super bummed. Should be rewarded for getting so far, not charged.

As a teenager we loved playing Dig Dug in the arcade. This game is extremely similar and really fun to play. However the latest update 1.6.11 has introduced a lot more crumbling ground to contend with, and definitely gave the game a new challenge! Not sure if we like all the ground collapsing around us all the time, because we've lost count of the number of times where we were getting ready to have a great big payday and all of a sudden the ground dropped out from underneath us. The squish factor has definitely been upped as well.

We do enjoy playing this game but it also seems to have no further progress. Would be sweet to see upgrades for Doug and or tools that stay or you have to spend in game money on.

We like this game, we play it everyday during our commutes. However, im not sure if its just our phone bugging but it started to be extremely laggy after we updated our software to iOS 26. Would be really happy if it got fixed.

Add 2 player co op and our life is yours (online).

The latest update fixed our brothers older iPads crash on opening app. 99 cents is a very fair price to pay for a game that has legs! We play this 20 or more times every day. We are hoping the developer adds new items to game in the future. Maybe tnt with a way to detonate from a safe distance, or a backpack to hold 2 items. Only 1 thing we wish theyd do: make the reward text ( the ones you get for quickly getting 3 or more of an item) smaller! Frustrating to die from an enemy behind the words! Update! Game still has annoying glitch. Numerous times we fall onto a spider and die.

Despite this games simplicity, we like that it still has depth (pun intended), with the creatures and items interacting to create additional hazards or fortuitous opportunities. It definitely reminds us Spelunky – learning to avoid the myriad dumb ways to die included, haha.

We love it. This game deserves way more players. It's great! Been playing for years. It's our go-to game when we need a short distraction. It never gets old for us because it's always both a challenge and some luck. Our high score is 153k and 1096 meters. Not sure if that's good. We're also not sure how to kill the orges except by jack hammer or invincibility. Is there some other way? Dragons and bombs don't seem to do it unless it takes a ton of them.

Ive played this game for more than 5 years across different phones. We love it and will keep playing it but it needs new content desperately. New skins for Doug would be awesome that you could unlock by doing different things idk. Still a great game.

We played 50 digs in one day. Definitely worth the $1.

Extremely enjoyable with fun simple mechanics!! Power ups are a little confusing to figure out at first but an extremely rewarding experience.

We thought this game would be a waist of our time. But it turned out to be so fun and funny. BYE BYE.

We tried this because we were nostalgic for Dig Dug and looking for something similar on the App Store. The mining and power-up tools are fun fun, and the game presents a real challenge in making you learn how to read the shifting rock patterns and where to look for treasures. The enemies make things interesting and force you to modify your strategy in tunneling ever-downward. All around a great way to pass some spare time.

We love this game!!! Looking for others that love it so we can have a group to share high scores. Currently high score is 651,400 & 1,643 meters deep.

Doug dug is the sad story of a dwarf whose decided to end it all doing what dwarves love to do most: cause massive cave ins. Very addictive, game still surprises us as sometimes the ceiling above us will just give way without warning, hilarious game, fun to play, takes some patience.

What is trust fall though its bugging us we have no clue??? Other than that great game to kill some time.

We have been playing this game for YEARS. We love the mechanics and the many ways to die. Although it lacks obstacles and different ways to solve them, however, the game is perfect as it is. Not too complicated and not too basic. Getting a new high score is always rewarding due to time and effort you put in to avoid all the possible deaths.

We love this game soo much we have been playing it for a good amount of time but on thing that we wish was a thing was that is when you clear your history you have an option of what you want to delete because we dont like how our highest score goes away and maybe more monster and new tools would be nice.

Ive been enjoying the updated physics for the gameit breathed some life back into it! Im a longtime player and have always considered this one a gem.

No, we are not a bot. We just like this simple game reminding us of growing up in the 80s. Fun, smooth, high replay value but…needs more variety. Would really like to change characters, perhaps adding different little friends or changes in blocks – doing so would make this game five stars, easily.

We bought the game. Get the lava always appears. It goes away but that kills any power ups you have active. Gold rush and jack hammer are super painful to lose because of a bug.

Deceptive practice with an in-app purchase paywall at 500m. Just put the full game on the app-store with an actual price.

We love playing this game, but after last update if two TNT crates are on top of each other one shoots the other in the air. Depths below 1000m are almost unplayable because of this random projectiles shooting from below and killing Doug randomly. Please address this to get back our five stars again.

The latest update fixed our brothers older iPads crash on opening app. 99 cents is a very fair price to pay for a game that has legs! We play this 20 or more times every day. Game still has annoying glitch. Numerous times we fall onto a spider and die, we dont like games that give you the rules, then break them. Trust fall ??? Right. Just fell 1 block down, background never changed, and we get a trusted fall? Lame.

Fun game but Messed up you start getting good then realize you gotta pay to keep going.
