Dive into Election Manager 2016

Have you ever wondered what if? What if 2016 had gone differently, if perhaps your candidate had had a bit more money, been a better candidate, or just been a bit luckier? What if someone else had run? What if a third party candidate had just as much money to spend? Or maybe even significantly more? What could you do with a hundred million dollars? A billion? Ten billion? What if there were four competitive parties? How would that change things? What if there were no established parties running at all?

With Election Manager 2016 you can answer those questions and more… Try running an election on a shoestring or with an unfair advantage. Run as a Democrat or Republican, manage the Libertarian or Green ticket, or go completely independent. Let your adviser make all your decisions for you, or micromanage every decision yourself, or anything in-between. The choices are all up to you.

About the Game:

Election Manager 2016 is an abstract strategic election simulation game where you manage your ticket in an attempt to get your candidate elected to the office of President of the United States. Election Manager comes with a variety of scenarios, from a recreation of the 2012 election to a four-way election between independent parties. In addition, almost any imaginable two-to-four way election scenario can be designed by the player.

The Election Manager 2016 engine uses actual historical and demographic data to produce reasonable election results, taking into account factors such as partisan lean and voter elasticity. The player will not only have to consider states but also media markets, giving the game a strategic dimension due the inefficient mapping from one to the other. For instance, to target New Jersey’s 14 electoral votes, the player would have to spend money on ads in the Philadelphia or New York City markets — but significant portions of those markets are actually in other states. So is it really worth spending that money there, or would it be better spent going after other states instead?

While Election Manager aims to give you complete control of your strategy, it also comes with tools to help you manage it — up to and including an AI campaign manager to which you can delegate any part (or all) of your strategy, from campaign stops to ad buys to state offices to polling. Game features include:

  • Completely customizable scenarios, including pre-built 2012 and hypothetical 2016 scenarios
  • Scenarios for two to four parties
  • Run a Democratic ticket, a Republican ticket, or any number of third-party or independent tickets
  • Single player or hotseat multiplayer
  • Set up campaign and fundraising stops for your candidate
  • Plan your ad strategy for every market in the United States
  • Use ads to attack your opponent, or boost your campaign with positive ads
  • Set up campaign offices in battleground states
  • Handle everything yourself, delegate everything to your AI campaign advisor, or anything in-between
  • Tools to help you plan your polling or ad campaigns or budgeting
  • Data and maps and lots of it

Find out what gamers are saying about Election Manager 2016:

We like the game, but here are some ideas. Allow more options in the platform. Keep the history of the players elections, including running mates, electoral maps, percentages, etc., so that stories can be made. This is our most important issue. Also, be keeping the partisanship of each state active. Other than these things, a great app!

Exactly what we were looking for. Could use an update for 2020, which we would definitely buy. All around great game.

You should make an app like this for Senate, House, and Governor. Also, a primary map would be nice.

This is one of the better Election/Campaign simulator type apps. It perfectly portrays the little aspects which make it even more realistic, but also is terrific on the Big, more stand-out aspects. Overall, one of the best, if not, THE best.

Make a Congress version of this app and please do a primary version.

All-around excellent game. Easy to learn and just as easy to play. The AI advisor is definitely helpful. Could use some minor tweaks tho. The platforms are too general, they should be along a scale instead of a left-right option. There needs to be a approval rating. Just because voters have heard of you doesn’t mean they like you. It could use a signature issue option such as health care, immigration, etc. There should also be the option to hire specific staff that serve as a multiplier for the AI advisor. Also, a feature that allowed for a specific political base would add much greater nuance. And, finally, we should know the total votes cast not just the percentage to the tenth. Either than those minor concerns a fantastic game.

Great game. Best election game we have ever played. We suggest that this game is given a GOP, Democrat, Libertarian, and GRN Party primary. Also we think it should have to more candidate slots (i.e. One for Darell Castle of the Constitution Party and one for Evan McMullin of the Independent Party). Also more platform issues such as Combating Terrorism and the Justice System. Also we would like to know the number of votes we get in each state and total not just the percentage. Lastly it would be cool if maybe added scenarios where you run for congress, senate, and governor. But this game really needs primaries above all! Please add them!

Great strategic game with many different scenarios.

We love this game please make one for 2020 or update it for 2020 please!

As a political nerd we absolutely love this game. A few changes Id like to see made are a create your own candidate, you can choose their looks, name, and political platform. Please lower the prices for extra candidates to $.99. $4 is a rip off. Also we think state voter history should be applied. It should be more difficult for a Republican to win California and a Democrat Texas. Other than that its a great game.

Its a great game but complicated.

Please add the primaries to make the game more realistic and enjoyable. Primaries are our favorite part of any election so could this election year of 2020 add primaries?

Were is the updated version of this game.

Our only complaints is the lack of more real scenarios and the lack of having any primaries other than that it’s a great election game.

The interface is impressive and it’s fascinating to watch our dollars translate into state wins. Can you please add split view? That would be useful. Glad you can watch the results come in without the stupid electoral college.

Its a good game and its pretty fun if you like Detailed Results that most people would ignore. We are just wondering when the second version is coming. It also only lets you have 4 parties which is a little annoying and you cant have a spectator mode. In general its a good game it would be better if it was updated more often though.

Can you add the presidential primary simulator to the app? It would be nice to play a character during the primary such as the Iowa caucus etc. It would feel like a real presidential election game we are playing.

Overall a great game, though we have a few suggestions. 1) Primaries One way that this game could be infinitely better is with primaries. As a history buff myself, we’ve always wanted to see the process of a candidate getting the delegates he or she needed to get so they could receive their parties nomination. You could even do what President Infinity does and have three different screens for each party primary and the general election that can be toggled on and off. 2) Early Vote and Realistic vote tallying Another thing, the election apparatus is a little below par. Dont get us wrong, it is the best on IOS, however, there are some improvements to be made. Have the results of an election come in slowly, a little bit at a time. It makes election night more intriguing, whereas right now, the experience gets a little bland after the first few games. 3) Debates Even if its just opposition research and issue research, it would be an improvement. The debates right now are ok, however, they dont really penalize a candidate for not being prepared that much. Have the option for debate practice each week and issue research, and have there be real consequences for doing poorly in a debate. 4) Endorsements Maybe the largest part of a real election that is missing here is endorsements. While the invocation of this game may be overused now, you could do something like what President Infinity does and have there be points allotted weekly that could be used toward endorsements. This kinda goes hand-in-hand, be surrogates would be another good addition. Having the candidates spouse or friend go out and campaign would help when a candidate is behind and needs to make up ground Right now, we think that these additions would be perfect to keep the community surrounding this game enthusiastic. It certainly would for us, a member of the community for a few years now.

It said $3.99 but you guys took off $4.34? Im confused. Im wondering if we can get a refund if we choose to delete it!

Its the best political game out there but its outdated. Update the polls!

Love it… But… Its very long and complicated…

The UI is garbage, and the game is completely biased: You can only be Hillary Clinton not Trump or any of the other candidates. Whoever designed this game should revoke this game from the App Store. We found a better election game, FOR FREE.

You’ve portrayed Trump as the ‘bad’ candidate, and corrupt Clinton as the good one (i.e. Smiling, much higher candidate quality, etc.). You’ve also got funding scores wrong. Clinton should have around 370 mil, and Trump around 100 mil. Get your facts straight and stop being biased.

We can tell that the game programmers are clearly are clearly biased towards Hillary, but if you could change just one thing we would like you to add a game mode where America uses the alternative voting system rather than first past the post and the electoral college. If you need more information on what that is cgp grey has some great YouTube videos about it.

We can’t seem to do anything, we don’t understand what’s going on at all.

Plz make an update for the 2016 election and maybe have primary’s!

This is the only semi-realistic election manager game on the app store. Its really in depth, offers all parties (not just 2),and it really makes you use campaign strategy to win. You can change all aspects of your candidates including appearance, convention location, home state, all stances etc. Its the only election game worth playing.

We’ve played virtually every simulator out there and this one is undoubtedly the best by far. Customizable, replay-able, and realistic.

This game has been really well thought out and is really fun. The only suggestion we would make would be to make three of Nebraska and two of Maine electoral votes be individual, like they are in real life. We think it would also be a good idea to add in primaries.

As a political junky, it’s hard to find an election game worth playing over and over again without getting bored but the possibilities are endless and fun! Especially getting hands on state level. Great game!

This game is truly fun! We got when it first came out. But now almost a year and no new update. We’re hoping it gets some new features for the election coming up. This game has potential to be in the top ten paid apps. But they have to update it and add new things like interactive debates. Or being able to give speeches that you control, going door to door, etc. Then the last thing we want is too be able to do primary’s for GOP or the Dem.

50x better than any other election game on any device. As close as you can come to actually running for office.

We love the details and depths of this sim. The various markets and levers that are available make for lots of replay options. It is very realistic in that you can play a near-perfect strategy and still lose if you don’t have the right status to begin the game – or the opposite as well. We are hoping for a 2016 update, and expanding to primary season would be even better. The only downside is that the advisors keep trying to put more offices in states than are needed, and never closes them which can kill your budget later in the game – so we would advise you to set them manually.

This is a pretty fun and entertaining game. It would be better if you could more customize your political stances, change the actual states’ political views, and play some more historical scenarios.

The only thing is it’s kind of hard to use for first timers. Our suggestions 1)Make it easier to use 2) Have a primary election for your party. 3) Add questions into the debates to make it more realistic.

Perhaps primaries? And a 2016 option would make this game much more fun.

Can’t even tell if the game is good or not, all it does is crash.

Don’t waist your money, it’s trash.

Reminds us of a bad DOS game in a tablet format.

Really solid app, hope it gets noticed! Our only request would be to include scenarios of other key elections like the election of 1968 and so on.

Great sim. We highly recommend you buy it.
