Dive into Ember

About Ember
“Back in the earliest days, there was no sun and the world was dark. The heavens opened up and stars fell like beacons into the pitch black world, and they were known as “Embers”. Powerful and wise druids of a primordial race, “the Lightbringers," roamed the orb searching for this luminous matter. They performed a ritual of awakening to call the “Embers” out of their deep sleep. Suddenly the world became bright, and the veil of darkness was lifted. The Embers were the embodiment of magical flame, light, and life, but as word spread about the sheer power of the Embers, they came to be hunted and captured…and so the War for Ember began…”
From the tome “Restoration of the Lightbringer”

FINALLY a great RPG that doesn’t nickel and dime us into spending a small fortune purchasing gems and gold so they can get rich just so we can play their game! The game is AWESOME and with the ONE TIME price is ABSOLUTELY worth it. We know people are going to look at that $10 price tag and say, "Oh hell no! We’re not paying $10 for a game!" Now, stop and just THINK about how much you’re paying for those ridiculous, and in our opinion, HATED IN APP PURCHASES. We’re just saying do the math y’all. This is an absolute STEAL for $10! We have a few of their other "NO IN APP PURCHASES" games like Grimrock and we love them! 505, y’all are freaking awesome!! Keep up the good work!

We have started playing this game right after it came out and Im having so much fun. Not only the graphics are great but the game itself if so much fun! Well worth the money spent!

IPhone 6s Plus and game runs smoothly. HUGE and beautiful little RPG. Need large screen to play. 6 plus barely fits it.

Is there isnt a sequel. Amazing game!

We long for a great hack n slash rpg. This game is superb in every way. We can spend hours in this and not get bored. Reminds us of the good old days of Baldurs gate and the bards take. Excellent just excellent. 10/10.

If you like old school style fantasy RPGs like Baldur’s Gate, Icewind Dale, Avadon, Avernum, and Dungeons of Chaos on iOS then this game is for you!!!

BEAUTIFUL game, gives the Diablo fix on the go. Please devs add MFI controller support as this game is just perfect a perfect combination with an iPad 12.9 + Gamevice. Please!!!!

Hello Please please update this game This games GREAT mobile game in the WORLD Regards.

Game cant play unless you continue the saved game is the problem.

No in app purchases, no ads. Just a stellar game with great storyline and beautiful graphics. Well worth the money.

This game is pretty awesome. Its one of the very few IPad games we can sit around and play for long periods of time. Highly recommended to fans of older CRPG-style games!

This game is a hidden gem with extremely well designed storyline and stunning graphics and we’re a big fan of the tap to move around/attack control! We never liked the virtual joystick. We’ll say we love it no less (even more) than big fantasy rpg title out there such as dragon age. And for only 10 bucks we feel it’s a steal! Only complaint is the game crashes on us every 1 to hours which is very annoying. When that happened we had to replay the lost progress. Guess our phone is not made for game like this will not try to play another 3D games on iOS again! Ours is 6 plus.

One of our favs. If you like Baulders Gate or Diabloesque, isometric rpgs pick this one up. Its an original premium game made for iOS that deserves attention & love. Plus its really good. Support!!

This is the bet IOS adventure RPG we’ve seen. It is clearly a passion project. Its stunning to play on our iPad Pro and we certainly recommend it to anyone who is a fan of the genre. We want more!

Loved the controls once we got used to them. Large open world. Only downsides are the size of the text and buttons and that the ending is a bit anti-climactic and there are not many available outcomes. Overall great story, beautiful graphics and responsiveness. Loved that the game is not dependent on in-app purchases. Please more of these. In-app purchases have completely destroyed and put us off many other legendary franchises.

Expansive; great graphics and animation; countless equipables. Our benchmark is Diablo; and having just completed our first game of Ember, here are further observations: Compared to Diablo, Ember consumes a little too much time with NPC dialogue. It’s relevant to the rich storyline, so this won’t bother most people. A little too much time was required to acquire, manage and disposition the game’s voluminous inventory. Crafting equipment and potions is central to Ember, but we prefer fighting monsters more than spending time creating the tools required for gameplay. Monsters are little too tough. Maybe it was a lack of proper character development, but we had to "rest" and save our characters way too often–after almost every encounter with monsters. This will be a great game for many, but possibly too much work for Diablo fans.

You guys nailed it. The perfect rpg engine on an iPhone. Please make more content, DLC or additional games. Just take our money Thanx.

Its clear this was indeed a labor of love. You guys should be immensely proud of what youve done. We would also like to thank you for not corrupting the game with IAPs or adware. The gameplay in this was stellar, the storyline superb, and the attention to detail, unparalleled.

For those of us who love to complain that it’s all freemium garbage on the app store (which we’re exceedingly guilty of myself), THIS is the type of game to stay our whining for a good little while. Baldurs gate type interface and combat, yet much, MUCH more noob-friendly – without feeling "dumbed down." we got spoiled in the early days of ios with decent games for a dollar… Those days are long gone. But even then, we didn’t have quality like this. 10 bucks is still a STEAL for this caliber of program, as it’s easily a 30 dollar game on any other platform. If we don’t buy these kinds of games and support these devs, eventually no one will make them at all (even if it’s a pc port). Show em there’s a market and let’s get more great stuff like this on the app store.

Just finished this fantastic mobile RPG. It’s a but of an old fashioned RPG in terms of gameplay with simplified mechanics to keep it relatively light yet engaging and still requires some strategies to get through it. Plays similar to Balfour’s Gate but simpler and faster. The graphics, music, and voice acting are all excellent and provide a great atmosphere if you want to feel more immersed in the game. The storyline is surprisingly novel and unique from the typical light vs darkness stories. Combat can be challenging and if too difficult you can set it to a lower difficulty. We personally finished it in the hardest difficulty without too many problems. A typical strategy of using a tank to take damage while supporting characters try to heal/attack without taking too much damage works most of the time. A few battles require a deeper strategy than that and some preparation to go in with the right skill set. The game description says it features a robust skill tree, this is inaccurate. There is no skill tree. Instead, many equipment you find will provide you with a specific skill if you equip it. There are also runes you can purchase to assign a skill to a piece of equipment and that allows customization of your equipment and abilities. It’s a convenient and simple system that works great for a mobile game while still providing a depth of character building and strategy. Of course you also assign stats points to your characters as they level up and in that way you make them unique and with different strengths from others. For example we gave one character high Strengh and Vitality stats to make him very durable and equipped him with the heaviest armor and melee weapons. Different equipment will require different base stats to equip, heavy armor requires high strength for example. There’s enough guidance in the game for you to know what you should be doing for most of the game but with enough freedom and side quests to explore on your own. There is also a good and actually useful crafting system in the game. Some great gear can be crafted, often better than what can be found or bought but it’s also not so essential that you have to spend a lot of time crafting. You can usually get by with the gear you find from loot or purchase from stores. Overall we haven’t enjoyed an RPG this much in years. We give it a 5/5 and we really loved the storyline and most of the dialogues with all the NPCs. Played it on our iPad Mini 4 without any problems. Had a few random crashes here and there but nothing that repeated itself so we assume they weren’t from glitches in the game. Also the game auto saves often enough so you won’t lose much, if anything at all.

One year ago we’ve purchased this game and now playing it again. Just wish it would iPhone X widescreen as its too small at the moment.

We’ve only played a little bit, but it has already impressed way more than most iOS games on the App Store.

Full out game but the movement and inventory system is a bit touchy and the game crashes here and there.

First, let us preface this by saying we nearly gave up on looking for games on our iPad Pro (and mobile, for that matter) after being jaded by one trash game after the next. Finding Ember restored our faith that game makers on iOS can still make something awesome. The graphics look great on our device, and plays very well. Im only into the second area of the game (of 20) and have gotten sucked into the gameplay and world. The world is vibrant with colorful characters and a creative soundtrack with plenty of atmosphere. We’ve taken the road less traveled and started on the hardest difficulty, which has presented the game in a way that we think it should be played. Im happy to pay 9.99 for a mobile game that would be equally as good on our gaming rig. The price held us back at first- but only because we were so used to terrible iOS games, we figured this would be just as bad. We were wrong. No micro transactions, no timed drip content, no walled content until we pay more. Just a full game ready to go. We really hope they consider adding an expansion or two as there is lots of potential for further development as an IP. Hopefully the market responds in kind to games like this to give those of us with a reasonable attention span and a resistance to micro-transactions something to enjoy. While the game is great, we would like to point out to the devs that there is room for improvement. -It would be nice to have a point and run option, where you press and hold to move around rather than constant tapping. Maybe a gesture where two fingers on the screen activates it. -Option to move the pause button anywhere on the screen. -Option to dock the action bar vertically on left or right edge of screen for those of us on iPads where are hands are already holding it from the sides. -Put out a demo with all of the content just before walking into Radiance to try to get sales where Im sure they could be. People like us are reluctant to spend 10 bucks after being burned by so many other terrible games.

Tapping continue causes the game to crash. Every time.

This is one of the best RPG game iPhone after Aralon and Dungeon Hunter. Good graphics. Interesting characters and complex storyline with lots to do. The battles are all quite challenging.

Allow us to play this on our tv when we feel like kicking back, via Apple TV. Such an amazing game, why would you guys not offer something as simple as controller support. 5 Star when you do. Aside from that… IOS classic.

Finally… FINALLY a game developer that respects the players. No buying gems BS, no money-extracting shenanigans, and above all, this is designed as a GAME, not a cattle-herd with every game mechanic and progression trajectory designed to push the player into spending money. And thats why we just purchased this app. Devs neee to understand that many customers would happily pay $20 or $30 for a game that is not one giant money-grab. Free-To-Play is a cancer and its gambling. Thank you 505!

Beautiful game. It has wonderful depth for a cellphone game. The controls are straightforward and the combat is easy enough and entertaining :) hard to find a good rpg like this on cellphone. Make sure you actually read the In game books! The writing is excellent!

If you have been searching for a good RPG to play on your phone, then you should consider playing Ember. It is a near perfect mobile RPG because of its beautiful graphics and streamlined nature. All of your magic and skills are attached to equipment that can be swapped out anytime you want. This let’s you try all the spells/skills without committing to the ones you don’t like. You may also reset the stats for the characters at anytime (for a reasonable chunk of gold of course) if you want to change up your parties combat style. The game is a huge open world with quite a bit of freedom to roam at times. Fans of old school games like Baulders Gate and Planescape will feel right at home with the battles. You can pause combat at any time to issue your party members commands, then watch the battle unfold in real time. There are also plenty of side quests, and a very deep crafting system similar to Skyrim’s. We have put in 20 hours and we are still enjoying this beautiful modern game with old school charms.

Great game. Originally played it on our iPad which was incredible. We have the Xs Max now and feel the screen is big enough to play anywhere but no current update =[ small game on a huge screen.

Great rpg, great story, great depth to the gameplay, items, backstory.

We recently purchased this game to play on our new iPad Pro. It looks beautiful! We know its been out for awhile, but we cannot stop playing it. This game takes the old-school RPG genre and makes it a wonderful experience on iOS.

Wow. Just wow. Finished the game and loved every minute of it. Not sure how replayable it is, but what a great ride while it lasted.

If you are looking for the closest thing to a Diablo/skyrim/dragon age type of experience this is the best you will find. Combat is like dragon age 1 a bit, a little more dynamic. There is a great crafting system made up of all the expected crafts one expects with an rpg like this: cooking, armor smith, weapon smith, alchemy. We were back and forth on this game before we bought because the price tag but after playing about 30 hours already we can attest this game is the real deal. Definitely worth to have for a rainy day game none the less.

We don’t review games often, but hands down one of the best rpgs on in App Store. Buy and play it, great game.. Update: problem we had is fixed, great game..

Such a good game. We wish there was more like it out there.

What a great game, especially if you played games like Baldurs Gate. We wish it had gone on much longer and hope there are expansions or follow up games!!

Don’t have to pay anything extra, smooth, awesome graphics. Looking forward to the next one. If you’re a fan of Baulder’s Gate or Diablo you’ll love this.

Add button quicksave Fix bigger button + – quality, hand equip, skill. More quest more chapter plz, game too short. New game + plz :) Greatest game we bought :3 love love love.

Im diggin this game! We just wish it was optimized and updated in size!

The game is fantastic. We enjoyed every second of it, however, we’ve been trying to start a new game for some time and the game keeps crashing immediately after the character name and difficulty selection screen. Im writing this review to ask the developers if there is anything we can do to fix this issue. This is every bit of a 5 star game, we just want to be able to play it again.

Fun to play and very immersive but it’s hard to play on our 7 plus do to it being very small and hard to see. Would be great on any newer iPad. We personally think the 10$ price tag is a little high.

This game is great and worth the price. Our only complaint is, as playing as an iPhone player, the controls can be frustrating. Our complaints are only with movement. We click on an enemy to attack but the character will move next to the enemy and not attack. Or we will want to move and click on an object instead. Other than that this game is quite addicting and well worth playing if you like challenging rpg’s.

Overall a good game. We especially enjoy the world building, lore and the amount of books you can read (despite the spelling and grammar errors other reviewers have pointed out). The one drawback is that the touch targets on an iPhone are very small (iPhone X). Would be great if there was an option to zoom in the interface.

We love this game, but ever since we went to the Ember Mines for the Restoring the Shrines quest, it has been crashing on us. We had hoped that the latest update would fix this issue, but it still crashes. We hope that the next update will fix the problem, because we really want to continue playing this game.

This is an addictive game with surprising complexity and graphics for a tablet game. Definitely worth the money, but SAVE OFTEN!

To start we must give kudos to developers who poured their hearts into this passion project. As a gamer we can immerse myself into their world and feel the meticulous details. Great character design, landscape, music, voice recording, and effects. Thank you for a wonderful game. Now comes the "BUT", and this bit of irate is magnified by the perfection in every other aspect so far we have experienced. The blemish lies in the dialogues and literature of the world. If only the developers hired writers with higher proficiencies the game would be complete. The writing style is of a modern teenager’s attempt being a bard or historian which breaks the immersion. And the protagonist sounds less like a legendary warrior and more of a pleading child. We only point it out because this would otherwise have been a standard bearer for iOS isometric RPGs. Hope to see more from developers in the future, and a writing quality on par with Baldur’s Gate.

Enjoyable and functional, we have to say this may be the best rpg on iOS. Even while playing on an iPhone, we have almost no trouble getting done what we want control wise. The only downfall is the frequency of the game crashing. Just remember to save often.
