Looking for more information? Read a comprehensive review of Eternal Card Game below:

We played magic for a long time in this game was a lot more fun. However, when you have to have 35 to 40 out of 75 cards, all of them are energy just to get two of them to eventually show up in a single draw 20 rounds in a row then theres something broken in the game. If we could buy these cards and play them in the real world, that would be awesome But their math is broken.

With gaming router (no issues with online access) and new iOS devices, this game froze during intro demo – not having internet access. Definitely a server issue. Loaded and deleted too bad.

Everything depends on card draw. Either you draw too many sigils (aka mana) and not enough functional cards, or you draw no sigils and thus cant play any cards. It is so frustrating and dumb. Also the alleged game controller support doesnt work. And we tried reaching out to the developers about this and received no response whatsoever. Clearly they dont care whether or not their game works as advertised.

We are a big fan of Dire Wolf, and a lot of our money has been spent on their products. We’ve even bought all three Clank! Versions (if you are unfamiliar with DWs board games, look them up, theyre amazing!). We bought the Root app, which is widely considered the epitome of physical to digital conversions. And now we’ve downloaded Eternal but have not paid a dime for it! Ill no doubt end up buying a campaign at some point, which from what we gather will set us back $10, using real life dollars to purchase in-game currency (gems) to spend in their store. But Im currently more than half way to earning enough gold within the game as an alternate way of buying a campaign, just from battling for free. We dont love fighting real humans for some reason, though we have more wins than losses currently, and mostly play the Gauntlet – the series of increasingly difficult matches – in an attempt to earn larger and greater prizes. Id say that the Gauntlet does reveal some of the frustrations common to this sort of online collectible card game, as towards the end, the AI uses not just Legendary cards, which from our calculations we would have to spend $29 to reliably obtain, but whole mechanisms that are as yet unavailable to us. But, we do believe thats what your signing up for when Gauntlet-ing. So far other human players havent unleashed unbalanced hurt upon us, which we are thankful for. Regardless, we have to give this 5 stars because of all the enjoyment we’ve gotten, free of charge. Thank you Dire Wolf yet again for all the good times.

We’ve been playing this game for almost 3 years now and we enjoy it. We dont put too much into the storys or puzzles this game has to offer and Im not much of an online player though when we do it seems ok. We just really really like the single player gauntlets, the card decks you can buy, and modifying and making those decks more awesome or adjusted to our play style. Not sure if the creators or developers look on these reviews to see peoples inputs and we for one rarely write a review so us writing this has made us come to our limits. In the gauntlets we feel that there are a few ai opponents that are way out of balance, some we feel have already had some adjustments because they use to be impossible and now are incredibly hard; such as guardians of the bastion 1 out of 10 times we face them we lose, pretty bad odds but we feel the challenge and enjoy it sometimes. There are a few that we feel are pointless, if we come across the themed deck for the man eating plants or argenport shootout. In the 3 years we’ve played we have never beat them, we’ve come to understand that if we even see them we dont even try because they are way out of balance. Every now and then we think we get a great deck and come across them but they make short work of us with no effort. There are others as well but we can only think of these two and argenport shootout shows up more than the others. 100% of the time they win, please fix them or remove them. We get you dont want people winning all the time but if we wanted free cards we would do the one casual game a day and we dont care for that, Im big into the gauntlet and we typically attempt to win it once a day. Our average on winning a whole gauntlet one time took us 4 months of trying every day. Its been better now that we have more cards but now that we look back at that it is frustrating.

MTG and Hearthstone had a baby. Its this. You can spend money or grind. But the grind is so fun youll want to collect and spend money. Or not if youre broke and thats okay. Youll win still.

Eternal is a godsend. We’ve been a player since beta, and the game brings excellent design, storylines, and strategy that have kept us coming back for 6 years. There are a multitude of formats that make it easy for experienced and new players. We played magic the gathering for years, and strongly prefer eternal, which is far more accessible and fun to play. As a parent, its also easy to play a quick game if we dont have much time. A++++ thanks to the DWD team!

This game really is an improvement in magic, with the mana system being more forgiving and fluid. Game play is fast, challenging and engaging. The easiest way to play league is to do the daily quests, build up coins to play the monthly league for free, a mode that requires both deck building and game play skill as its essentially a sealed pack event, where you get additional packs each week. You keep the cards open as well. Supports a wide variety of play styles, great animation. Top notch. Only complaint is the app can bug on load and cards become unresponsive and sometimes connectivity will drop forcing you to leave the app and come back. This could be a barrier to a new player, so would love to see those issues fixed. Still, great events, wonderful lore, just the best.

We deleted the game a couple of years ago due to bugs and horrible connection. Reinstalled it to see if they fixed any of it and of course nope. Theres a bug that messes up with how our finger interacts with cards. We have to restart the game over and over until it goes away. We have very good internet connection, but it constantly gets disconnected. It was the same even when we got a new phone. Its sad because this game has the best AI for single player content.

It freezes when ur winning gives u crappy cards towards the final battles nothing but segil n poor use for cards in those situations too frustrating n dont make random true card play.

Win X games in a row is useless when the game gives us 9 power in a row. Connection issues plague the ranked system. Iphone 13 pro max on private home connection, we somehow AFK and when the game decided to work, it shows the opponent attacking us 5 turns in a row when we would have easily won sad and pathetic for a 5 year old game. Uninstalled.

Game designed better than MtG for the online experience while having an interface and ease of use as good as Hearthstone. Its also extremely free to play. We had acquired tournament/high ladder worthy decks within a week and became a worlds competitor within two months.

Please listen! Shuffling is still messed up. Cards run in streaks. Mana clumps, all identical card clumps, etc. There should be a manual reshuffle button or a major revamp to your random number generator. We dont want 3-4 of the exact same card in our opening hand. Sometimes we get 6 mana, sometimes we get 1. If we get 1, our next card is rarely mana, if we get 6, our next card is often mana. We cant rate this more than one star if you wont fix this after all these years.

IPad 3 here, eternal shuts down after most things after the newest update (clicking on ranked, profile, and cards).

It reigns supreme over the rest for a few reasons. 1: Its better balanced than the others. With active devs and occasional tweaks (but the nerf stick stays away) to keep things even. 2: made for iOS interface. No cramming different mechanics that are clunky in here. 3: can do things that arent possible in paper based games. 4: so many deck building possibilities. You rarely end up playing against the same 2-4 decks every game.

This game is by far our favorite online CCG. The gameplay is a lot of fun (MTG style combat) and the polish is really good too. (voice acting, animations, sounds, art, etc) and the best part? You don’t really need to spend any money to have fun. As long as you aren’t playing in the super high and competitive ranks, the meta isn’t all that influential. Unlike Legends of Runeterra, you can do stupid stuff in this game and make it work. We’ve built several decks that are a lot of fun and are mostly pretty decent, (some are just memes) and we didn’t need to spend a dime to do that. Now, if you play super competitively, youll need to make a meta deck and maybe spend some money, but we haven’t run into any of that yet. Our only major complaint is that the shuffling algorithm sometimes doesn’t work all that great. We used to get screwed 2/5 times and flooded another 2/5. That doesn’t happen as much now and we can’t tell if its because of the addition of the plunder mechanic, we got better at building decks, or because they fixed it. This is more of a nitpick, but we wish there was a little more variety in the animations and that some (especially kill cards) were a bit more dramatic. Wouldn’t it be cool if units dropped onto the board instead of warping in? (that said, some of the newer spells do have unique animations)

Excellent game if you like tcgs take the time learn the mechanics this game is addicting and AFFORDABLE!! Love it.

Have to say Im really disappointed. Makes us want to put the game down forever. When youre about to win but connection keeps slipping, then goes when you need it. Log in again and the game is lost. A real shame, cause its otherwise a fun game, but not more than a single star if it cant maintain connection on our iPad. We dont have this issue elsewhere.

Deck rules are stupid, computer cheats constantly and consistently. Just another stupid card game.

Only the tutorial is free. If you want to do any campaign stuff it cost real money. So much for getting away from blizzard. Horrible business model. We likes this game but you literally can’t play anything unless you spend real money. Scam and you should be ashamed.

Never draw digits when even our deck is 30% of them.

We just logged back into the game after being away for 2 years, and we didnt get a single pack to help us catch with everyone else. Needless to say we deleted Eternal instantly, because Im not about to empty our wallet or grind for weeks just to be on par with even new players (who get tutorial rewards).

Horrible balance. Pay to win trash. Used to be free to play. Now many of the cards needed to be competitive are behind pay walls. On top of this the developer will not respond. We paid money for a draft and the game booted us out and forced a Download in the middle of our draft game. Lost the draft and no response from develop for a refund. Players in the sane draft as you can also draft from completely different sets of cards. Completely unfair and unbalanced. Horrible customer service and horrible balance in this game.

After returning from a long break from this game, we were swiftly reminded why we dont play it anymore. Mana problems, just letting you return a hand one time isnt enough, just keep removing a card until the player stops redrawing their first hand.

Having trouble to balance 1 card? Nerf every other cards that can make a good combine with it. Cost A LOT OF MONEY to create decks and become unplayable. Second time see a developer like this, quit immediately and ask for refund.

We can honestly say that this is the best online card game we’ve ever played. And we’ve played almost all of them. It is easy to learn, deep, and is constantly updated. We havent spent a dollar, but have gotten a decent collection nonetheless. It really is free to play.

Its a good game, not cash intensive but you need to drop some coin to stay very competitive unless you are a casual player, we are not. While we hate floods of power draws or lack there of, we prefer this game over Hearthstone and Legends of Runeterra.

We’ve never been so frustrated with a card game as this. Been an on-off player, but now Im going to be an off player for good. The biggest problem with this game is the mana screw/flood. We mean, we know this is based off MTG. But MTG is paper and has 60 cards minimum in a deck, so it has less of a problem for mana screw/flood. Only a couple times we got screwed, flooded in Magic. This game though? Its totally unacceptable to emulate This mechanic digitally without a way to remedy the situation. This isnt one game every blue moon; this is almost every game, either us or the opponent. A game like it Spellweaver, though not popular manages to solve the issue entirely. Other games like Realm of Alters and Mythguard have you burn your cards. It makes no sense why this game has no method to remedy screw/flood without fetch or gain mana, which MTG did a long time ago. Also, stop saying this game is the most f2p of all card games. That used to be the case 2 years ago when Hearthstone and Shadowverse were the only 2 competitors at the time and you can get a lot of gold by playing Gauntlet. Nowadays, Hearthstone and Shadowverse improved their QOL to the point that they (at least Shadowverse) can get cards for Open 6 (like Draft for Eternal, but for one class). Games like LOR, Gwent, Mythguard, and even Realm of Alters have ways now to get the cards. We came back to Eternal 2 days ago after we uninstalled in January and the game looks just the same, just more cards and more stingy. Nowadays they have cards that you cant craft or destroy (not in campaigns) and they cost half as much as the campaigns, which already are a grind if you f2p. QOL havent changed at all. Im just done with this game. With the game not improving their QOL, being more stingy with cards and not resolving the main reason for non-games, we just cant deal with this game or the developers anymore. New players trying f2p will have a hard time being competitive, and now with other card games out their (and the old ones improving theirs), you can find them better and less frustrating than this one.

This card game is is absolutely fantastic. It has loads of content from campaigns, to new and old card packs, new boards you can play on, card backs, avatars and of course the large card pool. The developers have made this game very generous with the rewarding you constantly. Whether you are just playing against a. We or real players. Youre getting rewarded. It plays similar to magic with some hearthstone but its risen above both those games. Im a multi year hearthstone player, but we’ve taken a long break from it and during this break we stumbled across eternal. Ill tell ya after playing this game, we wont be going back to hearthstone. This is without a doubt a free game worth spending some money on to help the developers, this is f2p done right! There is so much more to write about(like amazing card art, mechanics, cross-play/cross-save between every other platform(this feature alone deserves parenthesis inside parenthesis), etc), but we kinda just wanna keep playing some matches and building decks. Again, great game :)

This game is great as far as sound effects and visually. The game is fun to play…… At first. Youll like if for a bit online until a certain point then everyone uses the exact same deck which is ridiculous. Im assuming they spent $ cuz those decks dont exist normally. But more so theyre are way too many kill cards. Its a bit ridiculous. We’ve played matches where every card we through was killed by a kill card. The game could use a little nerfing on the kill cards. Its literally the purple deck the most. Which coincidentally is one of the colors everyone uses online mixed with the rest of their crazy cards. Overall the game is fun but some of the downsides make it less enjoyable. If you read other reviews youll see Im not the only one who thinks these things.

We played this game for a few years, and we quickly discovered that while free and fascinating… Eternal would probably never be worth spending money on. We so wanted to spend money on the team that put this game together but there is one aspect of th enamel that eventually drove us to delete Eternal after all this time. The way Eternal shuffles is @#$&ing horribly unbalanced. We either drown in nothing but power cards or we dont get any at all. Even in decks designed to draw and play loads of power cards, it never works right. Im not stupid either having been playing CCGs since the early 1990s, so we know how to work with what we have. We’ve sent numerous feedbacks, just adding our voice to the chorus that does exist online. They dont seem to care, so we have to say good-bye as Im tired of a card game driving us to drink. Its the probabilities of drawing cards the way we do that convinced us the game is rigged beyond the normal amount that happens with PTW games like this. After our Stats & Probabilities class last semester, we were able to derive some useful stats from our games. If you dont mind spending money or have more patience than we do, by all means, pick up this game… Its the best card game out there (for iOS) as far as Im concerned… Just too cheaty and rigged for us to keep going. And we dont feel bad for giving this game a bad rap, we played for years and the devs ignored our reasonable requests for an unbiased card shuffling algorithm. Also, more and more of the game is being hidden behind subtle paywalls… So be ready for that trend to continue. Devs, dont bother replying, we wont care and if anyone else actually believes anything you say about this review… You deserve each other. Good-bye Eternal, it was hundreds and hundreds of hours we mostly dont regret.

We’ve played MTG off and on since 1995. Never liked Hearthstone. Played A LOT of The Elder Scrolls: Legends (havent recently but we still really like the game. Im a huge elder scrolls RPG fan and we think the card game is great). This game hits the sweet spot between all three games. The games can last anywhere from 60 seconds to 20 minutes. The deck combos range from aggro red decks to discard shadow decks and anything in between. Instead of gaining mana each round like Hearthstone or Legends, you have sigil/power cards that you play from your hand for mana/energy to play cards, which is why its similar to MTG. The gameplay is smooth, the premium card art is beautiful, the variety of games (solo story mode, throne, expedition, monthly league tournaments) have a niche for any type of player. Since we are all quarantined we’ve been playing a lot. As in, 24 hours of logged play in the last 4 days. We see myself playing this game for a long time. As far as we can tell they release expansions every few months. And the best part, at least in the digital ccg sense, is that card packs include 12 cards and not 6, like Hearthstone or Legends. Thats twice the amount of cards for your money. The only drawback to this game is that, like any other ccg, the best cars are rare or legendary, and youll probably have to craft them to obtain them. We still give this game 5/5 because we’ve grown used to this being a mechanic in digital ccg games. Full disclosure, we played this game for three full weeks, everyday, without ever dropping a dime. We’ve since invested a small amount of money but nothing substantial, and it was only because we knew we were going to play a lot and we wanted to be competitive. This game is rad. Download and play now.

No rotations so your collection is always good, very generous rewards, totally possible to play for free. Yes, there are 75 card decks but over time the devs have added lots of cards that search mana cards out of your deck to lower your rate of mana flood/screw.

We dont write reviews, but we just stumbled upon this game and it is too good for us not to throw out our thoughts. Battle mechanics are outstanding, and there is plenty of card combining to tinker around with to make it really fun every match. The main reason this game appealed to us is because you dont have to play pvp, there are modes that allow you to just play against the AI. Not only do we not like pvp very much in games, but Im hardly in a place of stable WiFi nor do we have time to complete many games at a time. We have just one hope that there could be one additional mode for single player vs AI, and that is that we would really like to be able to just do a single match, one not part of a multiple match ladder like the Forge and Gauntlet offer. That would be helpful for quick deck testing. Other than that, sometimes when we leave the game on account of needing to attend to something external, we can sometimes return to the app and pick up in the game we were in, but sometimes it results in a loss, which is a little frustrating when Im far along in Gauntlet with an underperforming deck Im testing. We dont know if theres anything that can be done about it but it does bother us a little. All in all, this is a fantastic game, one which we are now even downloading to our Nintendo Switch as well. We hope to eventually have time to dive into some PVP to see what thats like, but for now, Ill continue to keep at the AI single player modes.

Ipad version unplayable, locks up in your match and wont let you play cards. We have to play elsewhere now.

This game is great, you dont have to rely on microtransactions to be competitive. We think its overlooked by a lot of people, because it doesnt have a tie to a popular franchise. Its well worth a look though, if you enjoy the CCG genre.

This game is basically all about win by random. Your decisions really dont matter much. You could build a great deck with a good curve, draw no more than 2 power for the whole game, and just get pummeled. Conversely, draw nothing but power cards and have nothing to put in play. Plus most of the value is all in the shadow faction… Life steal, void return, cheap target removal. It can be an enjoyable time waster, but dont put money into it… If youre just getting random results, the lottery has better returns on your investment. Additionally, they have a lot of disconnect issues with the iOS client. You wont know you have disconnected though, because its a tiny little red box on the left that you wont see unless you are looking for it, and then you have to force close and restart… Often losing the match. Its been this way for over a year. Youd think if they werent going to fix it they would at least make the indicator big and centered, but whatever.

This game is very similar to magic the gathering. Only a small part of the gameplay involves skill, whereas the rest comes down to luck of the draw. A good amount of content has been released, allowing for the creation of unique and fun decks to be used in the solo battle gauntlet (versus the computer.) The ladder format (Throne) is comprised of the same handful of net-decks with tweaks here and there. The changing standard format (Expedition) restricts the use of card expansions to only a few, allowing for a wider array of net-decks with tweaks here and there. The Forge (draft versus computer) and Draft (draft versus people) formats are the healthiest part of this game, allowing for a wide variance of viable deck creation. Overall, this game is fun but it can be very frustrating.

Just bought the $100 gem pack to support the devs of this wonderful game. Their love of the genre and respect for their customers is clear in everything they do.

This game is fun to play, and has neat artwork.

Slow gameplay during the tutorial phase, game crashed twice on our device. Initial download is 106Mb, then there is a 285Mb download at the beginning. After the tutorial and registration (another crash during this process), there is another download of 945Mb. As one progresses, there is probably additional downloads, we didnt get that far, our device doesnt have the storage available.

Been playing for close to 3 years new cards are OP feels like we’ve wasted all this time.

Sometimes we only get 1 power card even after the mul. Its the knowing that there is nothing we can do. The site mechanics in this game is super broken. U cant target it, you cant attack it with relic weapon and you have to attack it with all your creatures. Not friendly free to play. People are rude we get it. The AI in forge is cheating their deck is stacked with powerful cards. Im burn out from playing the same deck and see the same deck over and over. There are not enough reason for us to spend money. Frustrating VS entertainment.

So we’ve been playing this game for 2 months, so we should be able to give a overall review. Eternal Card Game is a great CCG with good graphics, and meta decks are easy to build. Its true really that you dont waste your wallet(only for premium items), but gaining card packs is really difficult. But the most worst part about this game, is the AI. When playing against the Gauntlet Mode(I beat this multiple times), it seems like that the AI seems to draw the right cards while the real player doesnt. Its frustrating when we are almost beating the AI and it just happened to draw a bunch of heal cards to win. This happened on multiple occasions. Its happened to us multiple times that we dont even get past the 1st stage. That is our complaint.

Just lost a game in draft mode due to lag on IOS. Fun game but lags on phones and can be irritating.

Per App Store, game is <200 mb. After starting up, must download another 250 or so. Fair enough. Only after playing through the entire tutorial and registering for an account does it spring another 850mb download.

We never written reviews. So many bots and Chinese probably ruining ratings anyway. But Im writing this cause Eternal is a really good game. We’ve played them all: Magic, Hearthstone, shadowverse, Duelyst, even Slay the Spire. Of all these games Eternal is the DEEPEST and FAIREST. Theres not just campaigns and ranked/casual. Theres organized pvp events. Theres pve Arena from Hearthstone and pve 7 boss gauntlet. You can earn tons of cards and gold just from pve. The game does not push you to play pvp so you can lose and buy packs. Economy: Gold is really easy to get. The limiting factor is dust. But you get so many packs and each pack contains 8 cards and 100 dust. Same as Hearthstone: 25, 100, 800, 3200 crafting costs. This game is like magic in that it has Land cards and 4 copies per deck. You can even have 4 legendaries. So for that reason it takes longer to grind. The game is incredibly fair and we are very well versed in micro transactions. We have a massive and full collection and we’ve never spent a penny on card packs. Only on campaigns, which give you like 25 cards. You can even buy premade decks which contain decent cards with gold. Cons: due to low playerbase even Bronze 3 has meta decks and veteran players. Lots of people forfeit to stay in bronze too so they can farm gold. And its annoying.

As the title says, this is a game much reminiscent of magic the gathering but unlike magic this game is very accessible with a multitude of game modes that allow you to collect in game gold. Im pretty sure you would be able to compete just with free to play but the developers have done such a wonderful job that we wanted to support their product.

We love the game so much the diversity in eternal and the possibilities of the deck builds are endless!! However we wish there was a way to change the player name as life changes!! We highly recommend this game rather your a noob or a seasoned card player easy to understand and build new decks and play!! Also there are fun campaigns to get exclusive cards!!
