Boy Howdy’s Expert Sudoku has four tricky types of Sudokus to try:

X Sudoku is the same as regular 9×9 sudoku, but both diagonals must contain 1 to 9 once only.

Hyper Sudoku is 9×9 but with an additional set of four 3×3 blocks that must contain 1 to 9 once only.

Jigsaw Sudoku is 9×9 but instead of 3×3 smaller blocks, the blocks are shaped like jigsaw pieces.

Samurai Sudoku (iPad only, because it’s HUGE!) is a super combo of five regular 9×9 sudoku puzzles, overlapping on one corner of one of the 3×3 blocks. Note that the normal row/column constraints are only within each 9×9 square.

Love this game! Very challenging!
We like to unwind at the end of the day and sometimes in the middle by picking up the game and solving the puzzle before shutting our eyes at night.
We were so excited to see an app with some of our favorite formats of Sudoku. Then we opened it. It’s not symmetrical as true sudoku puzzles are. Please name it differently! Deleting now.
We really miss a timer. A second feature we love but can do without is a bookmark. The sales screen also states you can turn off certain features but no option exist in settings. Other than that for a free app its great. The ads are unobtrusive we intend to click on one occasionally to send some funds to the developer.
If you have an undo button, you should also have a redo button. If you accidentally hit the button and dont see what changed, theres no way to correct your mistake. Challenging games.
Expert Sudoku is a fantastic, GREAT , INTERESTING game! Glad we have it!

We truly do love the game. However, there really should be some sort of game statistics available. Even something as simple as Number of games played, won, and lost.

We are a sudoku expert. We cannot purchase in a magazine puzzles difficult enough to challenge us. The genius puzzles in this app with their unique twists pique our interest for hours. Our favorite puzzle app ever. For those who are experts… These go beyond x-wings and swordfish.
Love this! No timer (change in settings) or score, so its not some competition; its about solving the puzzle, period. NO Ads between games (yes!) & the only add is a SMALL banner across the bottom. Four different versions; games are numbered and must be passed to go onto next puzzle.
This is the best design of a Sudoku app we’ve encountered. No excessive and annoying frills to turn off or get around. The notes are easy to use. And the clearing of notes when a choice is made lets you focus on the game and less on the mechanics. Two things would be great enhancements: make a PC version and a load your own puzzle from another source.
The most challenging level of sudoku on this app involves puzzles that are unsolvable by engines. Do not recommend if you are here to improve your skills.
We have come to enjoy the additional challenges of the different versions of Sudoku presented in this app. We really enjoy the Samurai version on our iPad. After a recent update, we were unable to load the Samurai version, so we reached out to Boy Howdy. The response was pretty much immediate and they kept in touch until the issue was resolved. Great games, awesome service.
Sudoku is a fun yet challenging game that keeps your mind working and can help you to keep your brain working as it is meant to. Most people are unaware that Sudoku was created by a Nebraska newspaper writer which failed to begin with and was started again in Japan where it went over like gangbusters with the people there. Eventually it was started in the U.S. With the title of Number Place. Over the years it has gained popularity all over the world and remains with the name Sudoku. We started with the easy Sudoku puzzles and soon found myself doing the hard puzzles including the challenger level puzzles. We still Love to do them and dont have any plans to stop. We hope whoever reads this enjoys them and if you have never tried playing them it would be a great time to start! Have a great day everyone and enjoy your lives as we continue to enjoy ours. The game has the potential to be five stars. The graphics, tools provided and gameplay are very good. Even the ads are not obtrusive. Where it falls woefully short is that it provides way too many exposed numbers at the start of the game. Even at the most advanced level it is so easy as to be trivial. This is a very easily fixed problem. We hope the App designers will correct it.
Even sudoku enthusiasts can get tired of the same old thing. This app gives you sudoku with a twist. Its doubly addictive.

This is a great twist to the original Sudoku. There was a small bug in the original release, but the Howdy’s have resolved the issue. Very challenging.
Where was we supposed to put the number 3 if it is wrong in every single spot out of the nine in the square and the nine in a row.
