We dont understand the math in the slightest, but its fun, and updates are constantly coming out to fix bugs and add gameplay :)

Exponential idle is not a game, its a lifestyle and a culture. Our life has completely changed after downloading this game. We have lost everything we had except for this game. We were fired from our job for exponential idling too competitively. We now live in a homeless shelter and survive off of social security checks. We need food stamps to survive now, we have lost everything from this game. Our wife divorced us, and took the kids. Bertha was originally supportive of our idling lifestyle. But then as the debt grew, she became more discriminatory about our idling culture. We decided that she was the issue and needed to be erased from our life. We have given you everything, and in return we have achieved eternal happiness knowing that we are the greatest idler to ever exist. -Brian Zang Sub.

This game has a very interesting concept and accompanying storyline to follow a traditional idle experience. No involuntary ads and ads are not necessary to progress at a reasonable rate. There are a few bugs including some "soft crashes" where the game will stop functioning but will not automatically close, but nothing that a quick restart wont fix :)

Just kidding, off to grinding more arrow puzzles for the next variable.

Like the ironic story, lots of ironic jokes on academic life. Cant help smiling every time reading the lore when a new chapter is unlocked.

Typical idle games are soulless and mindless games that have no substance. This one is far different. Every stage of the game is new and rewarding. Figuring out the mini game puzzles is gratifying. We did have to look up the arrow ones but even figuring out those algorithms was fun. As soon as a part of the game gets boring, the process gets automated. Fantastic free to play idle game not littered with micro transactions, with some soul put into it. Also, try to do secret achievement 13 without looking it up. Youll feel like a detective.

If u like see number get big but dont want to pay to win then play this game.

This is quite literally the perfect mobile game. No ads. Not painful to play. Sense of progression thats kept us playing for close to twenty hours of in-game time, with more to come. Its perfect.

Pleasant to look at, nice progression curve with some puzzly stuff sometimes, not totally obvious optimization, some choices, some stuff to do to speed up the early game. A good idle game imo.

Obviously there is waiting involved (its in the name of the game) but after a bit there is a good bit to do and solve. No necessary in game purchases nor ads. Even when you leave the game it continues without you and after a bit you can automate things making leaving easier. We pick up the game for maybe 5 minutes every few hours and the point where we are in the game. We are very satisfied with how simplistic this game is on the surface but we know there was some serious math involved in the creation of this and we give props to the creators for there hard work. 10/10 game amazing!

When we first downloaded this game, we were bit expecting much. Just another idle game (which we are admittedly a fan of) that we might drop after a few weeks. However, we were surprised at the depth of this game and how well the gameplay integrates into the story. We especially enjoy the theories, though we do wish they would be better explained. For example, we dont fully understand Numerical Methods and a short explanation of what each variable means would benefit us a lot instead of jumping right in into the symbols and notation. Overall, though, a very good game. There are some slow parts and some guesswork involved, but we enjoy the grind.

This game at first appears to be just a smarter, but more simple design. No cookies to click. Just a mathematical equation. As you continuously progress in the game you get to experience the complex equations that start to happen. Adding more variables using Stars which unlike most idle games is able to get while having fun. Just as we started thinking wow, this game really isnt that fun. We got to the prestige part, we had clicked the first equation about 8,000 times. We reached a point where our f(t) wasnt going up that much anymore and then we became able to prestige. This changed everything we were then getting higher and higher until we reached around ee100 then we got introduced to Supremacy. Eventually getting auto buyers, then an auto prestiger. We could then AFK for around 4-8 hours come back and supremacy. We are currently sitting at ee730 and waiting to get the achievement for reaching ee777.

No ads Good game mechanics Novel math-inspired.

A very good idea for a game executed very well, really fun and would recommend.

After unlocking recurrence relations, our progress has just stagnated. We’ve tried using 100s of thousands of stars to try and upgrade variables and many different combinations of student upgrades, but at this point every prestige takes more than a day and its been a while since a supremacy. Im positive that we can be doing something better but the game gives you very little instruction. Still, up to this point its been a nice game when Im bored, and we appreciate how there are no ads unless you initiate them.

After watching the advertisement, the advertisement can’t be closed and can’t be rewarded.

But it seems that there are two spaces in the app title. Thats our only problem with it honestly.

Why does an incremental game need to track our activities across apps? Instant uninstall; what a shady practice.

Puzzle game more like. Why make an idle game if you’re going to gate everything behind extremely boring tedious puzzles that have nothing to do with the math. We really want to like this game and give it 5 stars, but the puzzles completely ruin it.

When we lost some save data we contacted the developer and he fixed it for us. Highly recommend the game to anyone who likes idle games and math.

Like all idle games, its the best with friends.

Amazing, tons of content to unpack, and layers upon layers of new features.

Lots of other games have some sort of underlying math that paces out progression, giving a quick jolt of improvement, slowing down, and then jumping ahead to another layer of progression. What if we stripped away everything extra; no graphics aside from graphs and well rendered formulas, no characters outside of text, no controls, not even color! All thats left is the math, ramped up to ridiculous extremes using notation we didnt even know existed for absurdly huge numbers.

Just like our PhD life. 5 out of 5. Would recommend.

We’ve reached the students benchmark for the second time, and we have not gotten another student since. Even 2 straight weeks of automated prestige, buying, and supremacy, and we havent supremacy-ed. With no way to reinvest points in the students, we can only assume that Im screwed. 4 months of work only to hit a dead end in the game.

At first it seems like a mindless clicker, where your equation is approaching some value and therefor your growth is decreasing, as the story implies. But, as soon as it starts to seem tedious and like there are diminishing returns, the game offers you a way to automate that process and move on to prestiging to increase the growth potential. Then this becomes tedious and appears to grant diminishing returns, and more and more time-consuming prestiges. And then another layer is introduced: supremacy. And yet again all of your progress is reset to redo it all over again with a very much increased growth factor. Im currently three prestige layers in: graduation, where you are a professor and you must reach higher definitions of infinity with more and more students. Every time a layer seems boring or like the progress is slowing down, a new one is introduced that resets but greatly increases the growth of the previous one. It is amazingly well balanced and so satisfying. As an additional bonus, all of the equations that the app uses to calculate values are made available to you, so you can use them to figure out exactly how things work and around what point youll hit what you want. All in all, an incredible game about math, growth, and optimization. Love it! Thank you for making something so beautiful and satisfying! And most of all, thank you for not hiding actual satisfying growth and enjoyment behind a pay wall.

This game is fun, but what we did allows the game to play itself which is ironically very fun because we can come back at any time and play it without stressing about lost time!

We have no idea what Im playing but its so much fun. Its mocking both academia and other idle games. Brilliant.

The best idle game there is. No ads, no fluff, no messing around. Just numbers going up.

While intimidating at first, getting into the game and automating the equation is some of the most fun we’ve had with an idle game. Add on the story line and multiple moving parts and this game is near perfect. The only complaint is that starting out is extremely difficult and tedious and we would prefer for the x= section to be able to have infinite exponents added like the y,z,c and all other equations.

Its pretty good what can we say lol.

We dont think the designer enjoys linear algebra. Play it enough and you will understand.

This is the last idle game you ever need to play.

Been playing this off and on for a number of months. Im not good at anything beyond basic math, and this game still is fun.

The game itself was absolutely good. However, we can’t get offline progress since the latest App update.

While it may seem like theres not much too it, its very in-depth and fun.

Closest type of game to cookie clicker.

Was trying to click fast and somehow reset our save lol (I was only 10 mins in though)

This game has more surprises and respect for the user than we would have thought possible in any game, much less an idle game. You do not need to understand any formulas or even like math to get to the end of the game. If you do like math, it helps a little, but mostly you just understand better why you like the game so dang much. Try it! Click all the buttons and play to ee50.

This Game is SO GOOD that we have been playing this for over 6 months, and yet it’s still amazing. The only bad thing about this game is the lack of content. Once you get the recurrence theory there isnt that much to do except getting more theories. But except for that it is the best idle game ever.

After 209 days, we have finally finished the game. Its such a simple concept as an idle game, but it is executed elegantly, with a style like no other game we’ve seen. At the very least, its worth a download, you wont disappointed, especially if youre remotely interested in math.

For the right kind of person (complex, inquisitive, technical, and a little geeky, like we am, haha), this is a game that will captivate and fascinate you. You dont really need to know or perform any mathematical calculations or do any programming. Dont be intimidated by the formulas that are at the core of the game. They work by themselves, and youll never need a calculator or even a pencil and paper. BUT, we wont lie, the more math and programming courses you once took, the more you will enjoy the game, remembering things from your distant past. Exponential idle starts out as a clicker game, but honestly, that doesnt last very long. Maybe half an hour. Then, it becomes an idle game, but thats really a misnomer too, because youll never be idle in Exponential Idle. With layer-upon-layer of play within the game, an active online support community, and numerous third-part optimization tools, youll be as active as you want to be. The so-called goal of the game is to mathematically reach an infinite number, so, truthfully, your frequent involvement is needed to progress, as the game will plateau otherwise, hence your constant striving for improvement and optimization. Youll be reading a lot of old online blog posts from people who, at many points in the game, were seeking answers to the same predictable questions you are. Exponential Idle isnt a clicker game, it isnt an idle game, and it isnt really a game at all. As we said, for the right kind of person, Exponential Idle becomes a part of you, or is it, you become part of it? With the ongoing opportunities for improvement, visible progress on several fronts, and the games-within-the-game, youll never want for dopamine satisfaction. And, if you choose to think beyond the game itself, you will marvel at the brilliance of the designer. That, also, will increase your enjoyment. Exponential Idle is flawless. No glitches, no hang-ups, no drop-outs, and no bugs. There is only one extra optional performance upgrade available to purchase for a very few dollars (and, you yourself will welcome the performance improvement it brings), and there are NO ADS or other annoyances. There is a fun storyline that takes you through the first ending, but the game continues exponentially to a second ending, and you can continue thereafter if you like being asymptotic to infinity. We are almost to the second endingit has taken us six or more months. Like almost everyone else writes in the online community blog, this is the best game we’ve ever played, there is nothing else like it, and we will be terribly sad when we quit it. We hear there is a new version coming soon. We can hardly wait!

Firstly, Im just dipping our toes into math and found this game some time back. Having learned some calculus, we greatly appreciate the effort that went into this game so much more. Most clicker games are cut and paste but this one feels true. As if the internals to all of the others have been laid bare and exposed for our gaming. Its paced very well and the progression is satisfying. Havent finished story mode but Im enjoying it so far. If youre thinking of getting it, we recommend it.

Exponential Idle is by far one of the best idle games we have ever played. Im not going to go into detail because there are already multiple reviews which do so. If you just want something you can mess around with while on the metro or bus, maybe when you get home from school or when you first wake up, this is the game for you.

Very plain, but we love the idle aspect where you can step away and it keeps rolling. (Many other games seem to peak during your off hours, but this seems to do that less.
