We’re playing it a second time around.

We paid for this game! And went to play it again and it you are charging us again for the game! Not cool when we press restore purchase it will not let us, fix this problem Im not paying for this game again ridiculous! It a cool game story line graphics and every thing. But Im not paying again plain and simple!

We LOVED this game and here’s why: The music! In some of the HOPs there was this piano music that was beautiful! And the slow, grinding heavy metal in the closing credits pumped us up The mini games would actually show the solution when skipping a game. A nice little touch that we appreciated. The HOPs were incredibly unique and there are lots of them. We LOVE creepy games and this one did not disappoint. That baby… OMG!! The map not only let you teleport, but it also showed you if you found all the morphing objects and collectibles. Sweet! When finding objects they are clearly name labeled so that you know where and how to use it. Another nice little touch. We loved the auto zoom button. The game was long and so was the bonus game. Our only criticism is that I’d have to give a couple of the voice actors a C+. Haha.

At first we were afraid to even do the free trial but we are glad we did. We experienced no issues with it. So give it a try! You may enjoy yourself.

All that is have to say is awesome!!! We look forward every night before we go to bed to play this!! Storyline is good, graphics are awesome and the puzzle are fun. Keep up the great work!!

Love the challenge in this game. The hidden object scenes are great, great game!

Good storyline, with lots of interesting hidden object scenes & puzzles. There are a lot of unique & creative aspects to this game, which is very refreshing for this series. We personally, did not experience any lag times or glitches in this game. We can honestly say, that we have enjoyed this one and it we felt that the developers really improved on this one. Morphing & collectibles to collect, along with a teleporting map that indicates if more collectibles need to be found. After reading other reviews, we are confused as to why some experience lag times and others not? Total mystery, unless it has to do with the updating of operating system. Therefore, we recommend this game and hope fellow gamers can experience this Good game! Thanks to the developers for the effort that they put in creating this – Improvements definitely were noticed. KdBoots.

Interesting storyline. The HOPs and puzzles are not the same old same old. Im finding this to be very enjoyable add a nice change!

Know 8m in minority here, but we really liked this creepy game. It was kind of scary sometimes. Loved the haunting background melodies, the unique HOP’s. The mini-games were varied & different & some very challenging. Even with the Guide. The map, Guide about the same. Good graphics. Unusual HOP objects. We just found it refreshingly different & we’ve played many, many of these games. Im on the Bonus Chapter,by the way, so we’ve experienced just about all of it. We havent been able to quit playing since we started it this morning. Recommend to anyone who likes Big Fish type games.

Good story (yes, the plot DOES matter), nice graphics, and a good variation of HOGs. But, as in other games in this series, the loading time between scenes is ridiculous, probably BECAUSE there is so much going on. The other issue is that sometimes, the tapping isn’t quite right. Frustrating to tap multiple times, only to find that you had it right the first time. Another GOOD point is the fact that the Bonus Game IS a Bonus Game, and not just a continuation of a truncated story. We really enjoyed it!

We didn’t think it would happen, but we are officially over the ghosts-and-demons, gleaming eyes, bad acting plots of Big Fish hidden object games. We do still enjoy the search for carefully obscured items, but this game actually made us use some of our other game skills to move on in the story. Our goal is always to avoid using skip, but a few random action situations are more annoying than challenging. This game has both challenging and annoying aspects, luckily more of the former than the latter. We were ready to move on to something else by the end because the plot is boring, but we did enjoy the bonus chapter challenges. Good length overall, by which we mean not too short. Thanks, Big Fish.

We did not have problems other reviewers experienced. I,also, have not installed the most recent update for our IPad, if in fact that makes a difference. We rated a 4 just because the story line was "so so". Did enjoy the game play, puzzles and HOS. Only experienced loading delays in the last chapter. Have not completed the bonus chapter yet. Recommend this game for the times when BF offers several duds in a row and we are in need of entertainment.

We totally love this type of games. But why do some have to be so dark. We had to use more hints than normal because the H.O.’s were so dark. Love that we could do puzzles instead of trying to find items in the very dark H.O screens. Even the puzzles were. Just because the story line is evil doesn’t require such darkness.

Its a good game. However there are long lag times every time you go to another room, which is constantly. Very annoying. Otherwise, enjoyable.

The graphics, HOPs, and mini-games were great. The only things we found very frustrating were that many times when we tapped an inventory item it booted us out of the scene. Also, we were kicked out to the strategy guide when trying to move forward or tap on an area of interest.

This had all we needed in a ho game. Scary a little. Challenging sometimes. Evil and good face off. Great story line. Sometimes we were a little unsure as what to do next, usually it was fairly clear.

Yes it lags and we think developer and bf need to make this right after these updates. Other then the lag that makes us crazy, the game isn’t all that bad. We like the idea of choosing between hops and puzzles. Graphics could be a little more crisp but we enjoyed it after we set our mind to finish it.

We didn’t hate or love this game. It was just ok. We wish the demo had been longer. Although, if it had been longer, we may not have purchased. We didn’t have any issues with lag time, we just found the game a bit dated. If you are going to purchase, do so at the lower price.

This is a long game with a lot of back and forth and back and forth! The graphics are so-so and the storyline is kind of boring. We couldn’t play the bonus game because we just couldn’t take anymore of this game.

If your experience level is higher then it will be a slow going, boring game. If your new? Go for it! You should like it!

Fear for Sale was way too back and forth & repetitive. We have played 95% of these games and comparatively it just wasn’t up to par, in our opinion.

If you want to go absolutely insane, please be our guest and play this game. We know many of you don’t really care what we have to say, but we are doing you a favor here! BigFish and Elefun, we will not buy any more games from this developer! The graphics are sub-par, the lag time is horrendous, and the lack of originality makes for an incredibly tedious game. It’s a pity, because if Elefun sharpened up the graphics, removed the lag time and gave us some puzzles that weren’t only rotational, the gameplay would have been enjoyable. How is it that the lag time in the trial was only 3 seconds and by the time you reached the bonus adventure it turned into about 10 seconds? That is annoying and misleading. This developer does give you some bells and whistles: customization of settings, a teleport map which indicated when you had found collectibles, complex items to assemble and some variation in the HO scenes. If you didn’t want to complete those there was a jigsaw puzzle option. Tasks were regularly updated and there was a back button. The game ran smoothly except for the untenable lag time. It is very hard to say whether the game was lengthy because the lag time made it monotonous. Our final review will stand at 2 stars and we feel we are being quite generous. Lynxie sends to all the gamers who finished this tedious mess of a game!

For some reason, this series never shows improvement. It always has the back arrow on the side. The puzzles are boring, and time consuming, without any challenge. We agree with lynx minx. This game needs some serious improvements. The bells and whistles, of a map and hint, aren’t enough to make a game worth playing. Boring!

We’ve been playing these games for years. This game seemed very slow and dark. A lot of jumping from one scene to another (which took forever). Many of the games were difficult with directions that were not all that helpful. We "skipped" many; not our normal procedure. They were just very difficult. The $7.34 price was way too high for this game. The only good comment we can give it is that it didn’t kick us out like the last two games we purchased. Having said all this, we would NOT recommend this game to others.

The loading time between scenes is way too long, and gets worse the farther you get into the game. Also, we were looking forward to doing the alternative puzzles for the HOPs once we finished the game, but you cannot access HOPs or mini games in the extras menu. Seems like a waste.

NEW UPDATE: after finishing the main game, we’re sorry to say that the lag increased up to 8-9 seconds (started at 3 seconds during the trial). Adding in the fact that you have to re-play HOGs (and there are quite a few HOGs), we’re dropping our review to 2 stars. Without the lag, this would have been a solid 3 stars. If you’re patient, you might have a go at this. Otherwise, hold off for better games … Here’s another entry from Elefun, notorious for having increasingly long lags between scene transitions. Unfortunately the trials don’t give you a good sense for how bad it will get – we’ve been fooled many a time before with reasonable lags during the trial, only to have up to 10s+ lags by the end of the game. It’s unfortunate because their games are usually quite good from a story, gameplay mechanics and character point of view. Custom mode of play, transportable map, collectibles (the items vary), morphing objects in each scene. The map also shows where collectibles and morphing objects still need to be found, which is always helpful if you’re trying to find everything. HOGs offer an alternative puzzle game. We’re giving this developer one last try and will update our review if the lags get seriously annoying :) Upcoming Games: (# stars is average review on BigFishGames. Com for the PC or Mac version, date is the day the game was released via Big Fish – usually for PC or Mac) Dark Parables: Thief and the Tinderbox (3.4 stars, Eipix, Sept. ’16) Mystery Trackers: Queen of Hearts (3.1 stars, Elephant Games, Dec. ’16) Mystery Case Files: Broken Hour (3.5 stars, Eipix, Nov. ’16) Nevertales: Hidden Doorway (4.4 stars, Mad Head, Sept. ’16) Phantasmat: Reign of Shadows (4.3 stars, Eipix, Oct. ’16) Surface: Virtual Detective (4 stars, Elephant Games, Nov. ’16)

Locks up for no reason. What a waste of money. Of course it didn’t lock up until we paid to continue. Crooks!! Don’t waste your money.

Downloaded but couldn’t get it to run. Second game to do this. Sometimes we think the rush to get the games out. We must have 50 of their games. Running issues with new games we’ve only seen in the last two months. Something in their release process has changed.

Slow, clunky long lag times, unclear graphics… Don’t waste your money!

We have a lot of lag, freezing, and the graphics leave much to be desired. This will be the last Big fish game we buy.

Keeps makes us go to beginning and insert our name to start all over again. We had to reinsert it two times.

Downloaded this game this morning. When we saw it was Elefun we immediately deleted it. Graphics, art, storyline are always the WORST! NEVER buy an Elefun game. They are GARBAGE!!!
