FETCH! LUNCH RUSH – Education Game Review
![]()
FETCH! LUNCH RUSH is a Education/Family game from PBS Kids, first launched in 14th November 2011.
It’s rated 4+ and currently has 40+ ratings on the App Store.
What Makes FETCH! LUNCH RUSH Stand Out
HELLO, HOLLYWOOD!
In case you hadn’t heard, Ruff Ruffman, canine host of the PBS KIDS TV series, FETCH! with Ruff Ruffman, is making a movie! Of course, he’s in over his head and he needs your help, like, yesterday.
In this Augmented Reality, multi-player game, you need to keep up with lunch orders from Ruff’s movie crew. The challenge is keeping track of how many pieces of sushi everyone wants.
ORDER UP!
Since the most important job on a movie crew is filling everyone’s belly, you’ll need to think fast and be quick on your feet to keep the sushi straight. Both your brain and body will be moving once you spread out the game pieces (Augmented Reality markers) and start taking orders. No sweat? See if you can make it all the way to Top Dog. Better yet, see if you can get there before your friends do.
NUTRITIONAL INFORMATION:
This game was funded by a grant from the Department of Education and is designed to supplement national standards for first and second grade math curricula.

Community Insight:
Fetch lunch rush is a really fun game though we when we played it for the second time it just showed us a blue empty screen. We really wish this show would come back.
This is so cool we played this game for this app it needs to print a picture of the scan.
Our kid LOVES this game 13 top dog Lovers rate 5 stars Boy writing this makes us hungry.
We love Fetch with Ruff Ruffman,it’s a good show was sad when it was canceled, great game we downloaded it before the update and that was when it didn’t even load the original game, since we don’t have a printer we just use the computer or our other phone to play it.
Not updated in years. Game doesnt work in newer iPhones or iPads. After downloading and clicking Play it stays in a blueish screen.
It wont even do anything after we press play. So please someone out there update this app so people can play.
Disappointing that it hasnt been kept up to date and doesnt work after updating to iOS 14.
You do have to print about 3 pages for game pieces but it is worth it and so much fun! Our five year old loves playing this game and it teaches math skills that we are currently working on! We love it.
It is great for kids 10 and under that’s why it has 4 stars but anyone past 11 won’t like.
Downloaded this because our son loves Ruff Ruffman and watches purchased seasons. It’s his favorite PBS program past and present. Unfortunately the app doesn’t initialize properly and closes before it can even load.
We are an educational researcher that works with AR apps for students. This was a great app but is locking up on iOS 9 both on an iPad Air 2 and an iPhone 6 plus. Required a hard reset to get out of it on both devices. They need to do a port to make it an universal app. We would love to update this with good news about an updated version. PLEASE FIX THIS.
It sucked you need to print pieces to play and it not worth getting this game it was the worst.
When you press on the app it loads and then takes you back to the home screen.
We wish we could get on the app…we’re sure it is great but we can’t even get on the app.
On iOS 9 :( Tried two different iPads with no luck.
This app is very cool and it helps us with the basics. We also run around and we like food. Keep up the good work, Pbs.
We think it’s a great game for all ages that need to practice with math.
Love this game. It is great to get the kids moving and doing math instead of just sitting in front of the screen on the couch.
This math game is awesome. So different! Our kindergartner loves it. Would be great for 1st grade, too.
This game is so much fun to play with the kids! We downloaded it on both of our 4th gen iPods and our iPhone 4S and had no problems. The kids looove it and we think it’s cute and educational :).
Had lots of fun playing this with our little one. Just spread the numbers out in a few rooms and watch them run like crazy.
This is a wonderful app. Unfortunately, while it works on an iPad 2 running iOS 6.1.3, our iPod Touch 5th Generation also running iOS 6.1.3 only shows a blue screen when the camera comes on, so it doesn’t work. The app hasn’t been updated in 1.5 years, but we hope WGBH, PBS, or the software developers see this and make a fix.
Loved this! It relies on printed markers so you’ll need access to a printer to play. Wish there were more levels. But it’s free. And we had a lot of fun playing with something this novel.
This app was pretty fun we beat our friend on it 2 to 1.
Please fix the iPad3 camera. It just shows a blue screen. It doesn’t show up in the camera privacy settings like other apps do. Thanks.
Our son loves this game but it doesn’t work on our iPad. Please fix.
Our five year old loved this game, until it stopped working yesterday. It will no longer load. It comes on, shows the loading screen, then shuts off. Frustrating.
Perhaps a non-Augmented Reality option should be allowed as well.
Still waiting for an update for Retina iPads. Blue screen is all you get. Does not work on an iPad 3 or 4 as of this date.
Upset because our daughter loves fetch but the game won’t work. All we see is a blue screen and no apparent fixes for this. Very disappointed.
We don’t like it plz update it we only see a blue screen we wasted our moms ink on the printer.
Now we can’t find the app on our we phone 5 and we can’t get to the app.
This app sounds like lots of fun for kids, except for the fact that is crashes all the time. For dev, on diagnostics it said that thread one was crashing for iPad 2. Please fix.
This game is showing blue on our iPad this is st###d.
Our son has been trying to play this, but the app won’t access the camera and instead displays a blue screen. He has a 5th gen iPod running iOS 6.1.3.
We are a big fan Fetch, the gr8 science show FOR Jr.High kids.we expected science and problem solving with "Ruff" instead we got math equations any kindergartener could answer. C’mon Ruff! We expected better of you. :(.
You need to send out a bug fix for iPhone 5 – please! We only see a blue screen instead of a camera viewer :/ super bummed.
Kids were very excited to play but we get the blue screen too instead of a camera to shoot pictures. Plenty of troubleshooting did not help. Love the idea of the game, would love it to work.
Can we have our money back?Dang, you have to print pictures!REALLY.
She had great fun once the cards were printed out. Hopefully we’ll get our phone back. Now if only they would put a new Ruff Ruffman season on, we’d be set.
No camera support means the app doesn’t work at all. If you have an iPhone 4S, don’t bother downloading. Hopefully this will be addressed in an update.
