The award-winning debut adventure game from the creators of The Whispered World and Deponia now on the iPad. Experience a bizarre journey all across the insane asylum and far beyond its brick walls.

At the beginning, young Edna wakes up in the padded cell of an insane asylum with no memory of her past. She doesn’t have the slightest idea how she wound up there, but one thing is for sure, she wants out! After all, she feels perfectly sane – and her talking stuffed bunny Harvey agrees completely. Together, they attempt an escape and, in doing so, meet their extremely bizarre fellow patients – from the man in the bee costume to the pseudo-Siamese twins Hoti and Moti. But Dr. Marcel, head of the asylum, will stop at nothing to keep Edna from escaping. What does he have planned for her? And why was her memory erased? Amazing game!!! Totally worth it!!

We keep coming back to play this game. We love how childish the art is but how its also so dark and creepy. Edna is someone who is flawed but also makes us root for her. The game play is hard to figure out sometimes so we needed a walkthrough when we got stuck. Otherwise, its so good and entertaining and the music is bomb.

Fun game. Took us a long time to beat it. Make sure to save after Edna escaped her bedroom near the ending when Edna is sending Harvey to check up on the father downstair. There are two endings to the game.

This game and Harvey new eyes are two endlessly replay games. If you like funny humor, dirty humor, and dark humor mix and than you will DEFINITELY like these two games!

If only this was on the iPhone.

What a trip… As we used to say in the ’60s. Anyway, this game is one of the very best iPad Point & Click game ports we’ve played and that’s saying a lot. It’s one of the finest in almost every way, with one caveat (mentioned at the end of this review), including its story, brilliantly funny dialogue, charming graphics, superb voice acting, and many creative, tough, and wacky problems to solve. This is one of just a few out of hundreds of games where we would award nine out of ten (not five) stars if we could. We won’t lavish praise beyond this because, if you believe us, you will want to try it for yourself if you love Point & Click Adventures – You won’t regret it! Okay, the caveat is that you will most likely need to use an online walkthrough at least several times during the game since excellent wackiness doesn’t always invite intuitiveness into the picture ;-) The game’s lack of a good hint system is why we did not fantasize about giving it ten (instead of nine) stars. Other reviewers have discussed this in detail, so, ’nuff said.

We have a feeling that the developers updated the game recently to allow easier access to inventory items. Unfortunately, you can not progress past the first chapter – the padded room. It only allows one slash per pad. As a result, you can not exit the room. This is literally the first action of the game beyond the initial prologue. We double checked with a walk through. The inventory appeared different – hence our thoughts that the game has been updated. We are always hesitant to pay upfront for a game. We always appreciate a developer offering a couple of chapters for free so the player can see if the game suits their taste. We are more than willing to pay for a game that we like. We always jump on board to buy every game that is then released by that developer in the same genre. We will stay away from developers that peddle a flawed product. This was a waste of money. We fear that future products will be the same.

Loved playing this game ! They should make another one!

Really fun game if you enjoy an adventure point-&-click game! It was refreshing to see all of the attention to detail throughout the game… Nicely designed. L also love how there’s a variety of places to explore in the game–those are always the best. Def worth $

Fabulous game, well worth the money. The attention to detail is beyond anything we have seen in any other game. You can destroy/ vandalize parts of the scene that are not necessary to the game! It was very long, challenging and overall a must buy for the point and click fans. Also, anyone that likes puzzle games or logical and creative challenges. Please make more like this!

Awesome, but… Please add Russian language! Please Please Please.

We absolutely love this game! So many different fun puzzles and really great story line. The plot was fun and numerous. For some of the puzzles, we really needed a walkthrough to figure them out, but most of the time we could do it on our own. That didn’t make the game worse at all for us. Great game!

This was a very well produced game. We would consider it pretty difficult and we would probably not have made it without a walkthrough, but that’s not uncommon for these types of games. This game is, in our opinion, a perfect example of great price to performance ratio, and was the ideal length. Well done.

And that’s what we can only say to describe the adventure.

We loved this game… Reminds us of the good ole days of Sam and max.

We hope to god they make more games because this one is brilliant. Challenging, funny and long. Worth every penny.

Surely this is one of the best games in the appstore! It’s rather hard but there are always walkthroughs on the net for that. We can’t wait for the "harveys new eyes" title on ipad!!!

We love this game! We just wish they would bring their other games to the iPad!

A number of issues throughout but we managed to get them figured out with walkthroughs. Fun game.

We cannot pick up the wrench in the garage because it is behind the item button. Please help!

This is a classic adventure game in every respect, very long and well acted with a lot to explore and do, with great art to round it out. The biggest downside is that it’s not very fair at all, lots of hair-pulling moments, but it’s high quality, and while it does crash from time to time, the autosave always puts you right back where you left off, and we didn’t run into any constant problems. It’s chock-full of silly lines and sillier achievements, and basically 99% of every possible action is fully voice-acted by the main characters. There’s hours of dialogue here! Unfortunately, after a while we started getting tired of Edna & Harvey’s extremely dorky jokes, given how much there is to do and how long the game is. Like we said, you’re in for lots of hair-pulling for puzzles that hardly make any sense. There are lots of fun little digs at classic adventure games and tropes, but nearly every other puzzle is a stumper, making this a game that falls squarely into the same tropes. We still look forward to the next games, because we had fun despite it all.

We loved this game! Great characters, intriguing story, and challenging intellectual gameplay. However, after hours of investment in playing, and just when we had finally reached the denouement, the game crashes!! Repeatedly! Very frustrating, to say the least. Tried every crash fix we could think of short of reinstalling, as we didn’t want to start all over again. This could just be our device, though. We were playing it on a 1st Gen iPad. Hopefully others have more luck.

We’re stuck! We were able to get out of the padded cell but now what?! Is there a guide we can buy? Hints are no help. It’s a cool game but we can’t get past the 2nd guard. ;(( Please help!

This game offers a lot of playing time for very little money, which is great. It features funny characters in funny situations and you can tell the creators paid a lot of attention to adding entertaining details and asides. The problem we found is that game play is not very intuitive, and that’s why we’re not giving it a higher score. It is nearly impossible to figure out what you need to do in many situations, and there are so many pointless interactions/items to interact with that gameplay becomes tedious. The hint function doesn’t actually give hints pointing to which items to interact with in order to move you along, it just gives a general picture of what can be interacted with–and sometimes it is every object onscreen. The dialogue interactions are so copious that, while funny, they often don’t give clear directions of how to proceed, and they take forever. We think it would be impossible to get through this game without going online and finding a walkthrough, which is what we had to do. We think the developers need to work on some clarity.

Loved the game up until the very end, but once we get to a certain point, the game keeps crashing..

Ipad 2 running iOS 6. When you get to the wrench to remove the spare tire, the UI gets in the way of the wrench, can’t pick it up. Fun up until that point.

Just finished the game and we absolutely loved it. The slightly unhinged Edna & her subconsciously animated and talking stuffed rabbit make a great duo. Both are very well voiced and grow on you as you play. The story has just enough mystery and suspense to keep you hooked and eager to see edna escape and discover the true nature of her incarceration at the mental hospital. It takes a surprisingly dark turn at the end but it makes it all the more emotionally compelling and interesting. The game itself is classic point and click adventure. The UI has been updated from the pc version, making the transition to the iPad faithfully yet improved. All options (use, talk to, pick up, etc.) are now mapped directly around the object your tapping on, making a faster and more friendly control interface. Our only complaint is that using items requires you to open your bag, select an item, close your bag, then drag the item to whatever you want to use it on or combine with. Too many needless steps, but we got used to it. A tutorial in the beginning would have helped greatly as you are left to simply tap on things and figure it out yourself. Took us awhile to figure out how to do something as simple as using an item. As for the puzzles, most of them are fairly logical and are great fun to figure out. A few puzzles are downright evil and will almost require a walk through to solve. One was because of a cultural identifier, a "WC" or "Water Closet". In America we call it the bathroom, in Germany (where the game was made) it’s "water closet". Why is this important? One puzzle requires you to make a guard who is watching a series of monitors feel the urgent need to use the bathroom. You do this by closely observing the monitors and realizing you can spell out the letters "WC" by turning the lights on and off in certain rooms throughout the facility so the monitors light up and spell out "WC". We NEVER would have solved that on our own simply because "WC" doesn’t mean "bathroom" to us. None of this dampens the fun or the story too much. You’ll meet a great cast of eccentric characters, plenty of off the wall humor and fourth wall breaking gags, and a surprisingly touching and emotionally moving story in the midst of it all. This is well worth the price, pick up the game and surprise yourself.
