Cant believe they updated it. This is awesome. Best retro racer on IOS by far. Download this game. You wont be disappointed.
Some people try to make retro games, and some people succeed, thank you for bringing outrun to the ipad.
We’re a sucker for this kind of lovingly-made retro tribute. This is everything great about the original convertible-racing classic, but with silky smooth animation and precise tilt controls. The vision is slightly compromised by a prompt to enable bluetooth at the very beginning, but it can be dismissed and forgotten- bluetooth is not required to play this game.
Have the ipad5 and there’s no sound for this game.
It’s a little cool with the arcade style UI and graphics but when you get to core gameplay there really is no fun with no actual challenge expect with the turning. This game makes us want to throw up sometimes due to the terrible motion sickness perspective and the car is going to fast. This game is not worth your money.
One of the best driving games on the IOS. Why don’t other racing games allow you to drive a Ferrari F50 Spyder?
Awesome lets you play your own songs.
This game tilts the display with the device, giving you a better idea of how much steering input is being given. Fun game, great nod to the old arcade racers.

This game gives a nod to the classic racing games of the past. As others have said, its just like Outrun (Sega) but to us it feels more like Pole Position (Atari) or our personal fav Rad Racer (NES). If you liked the old racing games then this app is a must get & at .99 is a bargain! All in all, great game and highly addictive. Now if only we can figure out how to get those bonus points lol.
Next best thing to Outrun, since sega hasn’t put it on ios, Actually, maybe a little better then sega’s classic!

Update: After all these years, we’re still playing this game. What are you still reading? Buy this game…… Like right now!!! They listen to their customers and really delivered with this second installment. We rarely buy apps but dropped a cool .99 on this game and it has far exceeded our expectations.
We still love to pic this game up for a nostalgia fix. The gameplay is excellent and the graphics are exactly what we were looking for in this game. Waiting for number 3!!
Excellent old school racer. Really captures the feel of games like Outrun and adds some nice modern touches to make it interesting. Here’s hoping the developer tackles Afterburner next!

Brings back memories playing this game in the arcade. Man we wanted that Ferrari. Considering we used to pay $1 per game in the 80s this app is a deal!
Classic arcade racer on iOS that plays ultra smooth, fast and great fun. We loved the original but this sequel takes a winning formula and fleshes it out beautifully. This is our go-to racer, best buck we’ve spent in a long time. Reminds us of the glory days of video games. Can’t stop playing it!

Great game, tons of fun. If you loved the old 80’s arcade race games like Outrun, you need to get this game. Plus it even let’s you play your music from iTunes. Our only gripe is music that is shorter music won’t loop once it has played, music just stops. Still fun game that will have you addicted if you are an old school gamer. PS : the Galaxian style logo on the back of the car is a nice touch :)

Seriously one of the best iOS games we have purchased! The screenshots looked good but the gameplay surpassed our expectations. The steering wheel control mode is awesome. We feel like we stepped back in time with this game. Retro racing at its finest. Thank you to the developers for this blast from the past!

The retro games that inspired this little gem (Outrun, Road Rash, Rad Racer) were never as beautiful nor did they move as well as FF2R. Simply perfect. Get it.

Not only better than it’s predecessor, final freeway, it is better than outrun itself.
Even though you’ll likely "beat" the game on the first attempt, the game is so quick and addicting you’ll find yourself racing through the whole game a thousand more times trying to best your score. This is a perfect example of what mobile gaming should be.

This is the first game we have ever written a review for. We were looking for an Outrun-type game for iOS and happened to stumble upon this. Boy am we satisfied. The retro pixel art is beautifully spot on and the fact that you can use your own music makes it that much cooler.
Very striking, visually; all those sprites superscaled into your face at 60fps. A great take on the genre, one of the finest Outrun clones, as far as we are concerned, and a wonderful video game. Great job guys.
The first Final Freeway was pretty good, but this one is better in every way – better graphics, better gameplay, better soundtrack. It really nails that classic OutRun gameplay. Instant buy for us!

Love it. It’s smooth controls great and has a great sense of speed.
This game brings the feeling of arcade racers to the iPhone. A pitch-perfect encapsulation of the kind of game you would spend hours feeding quarters into. Very slick and polished clean graphics and cool little touches. A good variety of controls and options – including tilt, a virtual steering wheel, or our favorite- touching left and right on the edges of the screen.
What a pleasure to just start the engines and drive a way! Excellent retro play, controls, and music.
Perfectly captures the spirit and feel of 80s arcade racers. No bothersome realistic physics here — just pure pedal-to-the-metal fun. Our arms got tired of holding the iPad after a while, but really that’s just a sign of how hard it is put this game down. Note that Final Freeway 2R does support Game Center leaderboards and achievements, though this wasn’t obvious to us at first.
Until outrun comes to the app store, this will be king.

That’s the best kind of awesome.
For starters there needs to be more rivals. It’s gets kind of boring driving against the same guy. 2nd you need to be able to race more than 1 guy. Last more characters cars(optional) and colors. Do this and we give 5 stars.
Wow. The screenshots don’t capture the wicked sense of speed in this game. Playing the Outrun soundtrack in game added more to the nostalgia. Maybe Power Drift or Afterburner next?
Keep adding more! Will update to 5 with more content. But super fun. Good controls. Add more enemies.
