This is the best fishing game Ive ever played! Tie flies, catch fish, none of that extra nonsense like those other games.
The game is very fun and realistic, we love the ability to put in your own ponds and creeks etc. The only problem is when we click on the app usually it wont let us on the app which really makes us mad because we love playing.
Such a well done game that feels amazingly true to the real thing. Playing this game is like an adventure and meditation all in one. Happily paid for the complete package to support this developer who clearly knows the sport and the craft of building a game. Well done! Thank you.
This is one of the best mobile fishing games but we have on request that is to add golden trout to the game.
We picked up fly fishing a few years back and have been hooked. We started fishing little ponds and lakes, but soon moved up to streams where we have loved it. This game is a refresher for us, after almost FOUR YEARS, we finally bought the complete package and this game has turned into so much more. We love catching giant salmon or battling giant bass. We have fished almost every location and caught every fish. As a SC fisherman we love our state has representation in the base game, and we are working on producing our own map from Strom Thurmond Lake where we learned to fly fish. Now we know you are working on Musky, Pike, multiple salmon types, and other fish, but we think you should let us import are own fish, because we plan to go gar fishing on the fly and would love to have that in the game. Or coastal/foreign fishing. We would love to see fishing for massive tarpon or snook. Maybe going on an Amazon expedition. So maybe turning more freedoms to the community could bolster the games popularity. But overall this is the funnest game on the market and we enjoy playing it every day. Keep up the great work and we love the development and love put into the game.
Amazing game but whats with the screen rotation problem keeps flipping opposite.
This might actually be our third review but this game deserves it. We recently bought the complete package and it defiantly makes the game 10 times more awesome than it was before. Also its awesome to be able to publish rivers and share fishing spots with the FFSHD community. We think more fish species would be fun even though it is probably tough having to take all those pictures of the fish but we remember hearing something about getting pictures of whitefish and coho salmon and we think that sounds awesome. Over all this game is amazing you can do so many fun things and its super realistic and if we could rate this game 100 stars we would. Even without paying for this game its AMAZING. Dear Paul Halter, we love the new update with 3d fly tying. We cant wait for future updates and maybe see those whitefish or the coho salmon. We love this game and think its very inspiring how you took your passion of fishing and turned it into something amazing for others to enjoy to.
Lately real fishing has been hard to do with our busy schedule and this app is incredibly relaxing and fun. The only thing we would change is we would love a way to favorite certain fishing locations so that we can find them easier. Just a little heart to tap and a list to go to. Also there is an issue when creating your own locations, if you edit one thing everything else goes back to default mode and you have to re-edit everything. That's something that could be fixed. Otherwise this app is our favorite.
The games really fun but could you make the complete bundle a little cheaper.
Works great no ads no Wi-Fi fun you also get to tie flys in the game it works really well and catch trout like brooks browns and rainbows you can also make locations to fish 5 stars.
Best fly fishing game and best fishing game Ive played period. We wish the rivers were a little bit cheaper/ the free version came with more rivers but we understand the developers need to make money. Perfect game to play while slow at work and dreaming of being on the river.
We love this game!! We just wish there were more free to download fishing venues. You have to pay for different sites. Also we are currently only getting fly creation credits instead of lures. Is there a glitch? Overall great game and you should definitely check it out! :).
Im sorry for giving you such a Laura rating but 40 bucks for expansion. Its just too outrageous. We paid 10 bucks for fishing derby. So can you make a little cheaper please at least 10 will be good we will buy it if you make it cheaper.

We wish that there was free West Virginia rivers (mostly elk near bergoo) because not every day you get to go fly fishing somewhere when you want too. Thats why we downloaded this game to fly fish whenever we want. If yall ever take our wish and grant it we would love this game even more than we already do. Love yall and see yall later.
Im trying to grow on the multi species leaderboard but we cant find any locations with dolly vardens.
We have played this game for many years and always enjoyed it. Lately the game loads upside down requiring a screen lock to play and not chase the screen in circles. We deleted it and reloaded it with no change in the behavior. Hoping the developer has a solution.
We are addicted and we cant stop playing we bring iPad around with us everywhere and we have been earning money to get new areas which we have never done before this game. We fish a lot in real life and this game is almost as fun! A recommendation would be to make another sample area like the other one you did In all though this is an addicting game that we can not stop playing.
Its a great game. We love playing it however how do you change in the nickname in the apple app. Only top half of the keyboard shows and we cant change the nickname.
Ive been wanting a fly fishing game for so long and found this its absolutely amazing we love it. Our only issue and its not a big one is the screen doesnt stretch and fill our whole screen doesnt affect the game and it keeps the time displayed when adjusting the volume or swiping to leave the app you need to do it like its in portrait mode even though it is not Im unsure if its supposed to be that way or not. Either way awesome game and it wont stop us from having fun playing it.
This is hands down the best fishing game on iOS no competition even close beats.
We used to fly fish a lot but life, and age, have gotten in the way. This is a great reminder from matching the hatch to line management. It would be a great addition to the game though if each river posted the largest fish possible so you would know if you beat the final boss. Edit: The developer sent us the following response which makes a lot of sense and is why we changed our rating. Thanks for the feedback! The reason we don't have the app share the largest fish possible in any river or site is to stay as true to real life as possible, focusing on the simulation and not game elements like a final boss. In the real world you never know if you've caught the biggest fish in the river. But like in the real world, you can hear about where people have been catching really big fish, in this case with the "recent trophies" board. Also like in the real world, the size of the biggest fish present in any spot on any river varies. You may fish a pool you've fished many times before where your biggest catch was a 15 inch brown trout, but this could be the day a 26 incher has moved into the spot to feed.".
Really good game. But we would like to see the Dolly Varden and saltwater fish.
For a fishing game not sure you can beat this one. Ive enjoyed using it in pastimes where Im just killing time- and with the ability to download rivers that we routinely fish, its like Im out there in real life. Great game, fun graphics, fun fly selection, ability to control leader size and depth. Very detailed! One suggestion for future changes if possible, a little more control in line mending would be nice. Cheers from the PNW.
Generally you can tell within a minutes if a fishing game is trash. We have played for an hour now and here is what we have to say. You start out with the free locations of a pond and a river. So we checked what the other locations were that we had to pay for and holy crap there were tons from different states all over the U.S AND details of the water body. So we thought cool but how much $? Its 40$ for all of them and any new ones put out in the future. We wanted to buy them but we thought 40$ was way too much. But we already downloaded it so we figured Id give it a shot before uninstalling. So we went to the pond location, checked out the gear they start you with, and holy s#!+. There is a check hatch button for if you want to match the hatch, and they start you with 84 different dry flys and 84 wet flys. 168 different flys! AND when you click a fly you can choose its size. The casting is better than expected but not as good as we want it to be. It is over sensitive on the Y-axis and inverse (sliding down on the screen moves the rod tip up) and there is no way to adjust the sensitivity or turn off the inverse. That being said, its still pretty lifelike. Oh, and you cant catch bushes which is a godsend because it is the bane of our existence in real life. The winding is weird. Clockwise to let out line, counterclockwise to reel in. We have not found out how to strip in line or if you even can, but they give you streamers so we imagine its possible. We have only done an hour of actual fishing and it seems relatively accurate. Fish bite if you match the hatch, but you dont have to do it to hook up (provided your fly selection is reasonable). Hooking a fish: There is no popup bite notification when you get a bite, you have to watch your dry fly or line like you actually would. As far as setting the hook, its pretty easy, just move the rod tip up. Fighting a fish: pretty straight forward. So, yea Im dropping the 40$ and its probably going to become an addiction and Im going to get fired for playing it at work, but definitely seems worth it.
Its a really good app Im really really good for the fishing. We just cant find how to make a river. Its not letting us fish the river that we made.
It's a good game but you need to make it so that you can play your own map that you made without having to get the complete package.
We love this game, we really love this game. Its so relaxing and meditative. We love the wide selection of fish species and rivers. It really feel like Im fly fishing. We really love how this game recreates the experience of fly fishing. There just is one thing that Im confused about. What is fly creation credit? Is it like something that we can redeem for fly tying stuff. Like heavy duty hooks for bass bugs? Thats really the only thing that confuses us about his game. We really love it.
Ive always loved this app. And Ive already written a review. But because of the stream creator update we had to write again. Im about to go on our annual 10 day fishing trip. And we absolutely cant wait to start creating our fishing locations on this simulator!!!! . Im so happy you went into so much detail with it too. Im sure it was a ton of work. Good fun but it wont let us download river it says it is have trouble accessing the store try again later.
Its a shame that the developers couldnt carry over purchases from the previous game. Everything has to be a subscription anymore so Ive had this app for a total of five minutes and Ill be deleting it.
Every time you catch a big fish and get in it blinks and sends you to you phone.
To round up its a solid 5 best fly fishing app. Why 4.5? Because we cant delete old flys we dont use. This makes our fly boxes very messy and we wish we could have organization features in the future. We recommend this game to any fellow fisherman (or woman) out there.
We cannot find the river with dolly varden, we starting to think it is not in the game, please at dolly varden. If there is the dolly varden already just tell us what location it is in. Great game though.
Its a really good game we love it but could you make more things free instead of having to pay for a lot of things.
A bunch of our friends that do irl fishing have this app, our only concern is that we cant get passed the gallatin river mt without paying, in our position currently we cannot buy anything but is there anyway to get passed this.
We love this game! What it could use is a guide system for fly tying (Ive never tied our own flies in real life so we have no idea what Im doing) and an update for just general things.
This is better than the earlier version, and that is a tough one to beat! We cant fish anymore because of health, so this is our go to. We feel like Im on the river. Very realistic. You cast a few timesand move on to the next site since they arent biting. Check your fly and the critters around the water! We love this game.
When we cant go fishing IRL .. This is the next best thing.

Oh Paul, this is just heaven on a tablet brother. How many hours of straight joy and innocent peace do we get from this delightful software concoction. Especially when the weather is rough, this comes in perfectly! Best way to invest time in relaxation on iOS.
We spend far too much time playing this, but its almost as addictive as the real thing. If youre into fly fishing, get this app. Its worth the money. If we might make a small suggestion. We dont know how easy it is to add species, but adding even just a handful more would push this game over the top and make it the best overall fishing app. If it were our decision we would definitely add: 1. Golden Trout 2. Tiger Trout Other fun ideas include: Arctic char, Dolly Varden, Bull trout, Mountain whitefish, Splake, Lake trout, Pike/Muskie, Walleye, Perch, White bass/wiper/striper.
We have to say we are very impressed with this new fly fishing simulator. The graphics on the game have been improved, there are more fish species, and we love the new feature that allows the user to create/tie flys. This game also features very realistic fish behavior. The fish in the game react just as fish would in real life to the environment around them. The fish even seem to sit in the river where they would in real life (deep holes, eddies, etc.) Now for our very few complaints over the new HD fly fishing simulator. We personally think this new simulator is slower than the previous, such as when you are switching between sites. But that in all is our only slight complaint and in conclusion we must say that this is the most realistic fishing game on the App Store period.
Tons of flies. Tips on how to catch fish. Its really cool. Its almost like real fishing.
We downloaded the original free game. Played for an hour and bought the whole kielbasa. Was never disappointed. Downloaded thIS HD version and didnt wait an hour. The flow of the water is so nice and smooth. Fighting the fish feels more streamlined, And we still love the beautiful ambient sounds. Adding fly tying was over the top awesome. You seem to have found that sweet spot of loving what you do. Doing it very well, and offering a lovingly crafted product at a fair price. So rare these days.
We would recommend trying to add more locations for free and a little more species but it is an awesome game.
