We love this game, we really love this game. Its so relaxing and meditative. We love the wide selection of fish species and rivers. It really feel like Im fly fishing. We really love how this game recreates the experience of fly fishing. There just is one thing that Im confused about. What is fly creation credit? Is it like something that we can redeem for fly tying stuff. Like heavy duty hooks for bass bugs? Thats really the only thing that confuses us about his game. We really love it.
We’ve always loved this app. And we’ve already written a review. But because of the stream creator update we had to write again. Im about to go on our annual 10 day fishing trip. And we absolutely cant wait to start creating our fishing locations on this simulator!!!! . Im so happy you went into so much detail with it too. Im sure it was a ton of work. Its a shame that the developers couldnt carry over purchases from the previous game. Everything has to be a subscription anymore so we’ve had this app for a total of five minutes and Ill be deleting it.
Every time you catch a big fish and get in it blinks and sends you to you phone.
To round up its a solid 5 best fly fishing app. Why 4.5? Because we cant delete old flys we dont use. This makes our fly boxes very messy and we wish we could have organization features in the future. We recommend this game to any fellow fisherman (or woman) out there.
We cannot find the river with dolly varden, we starting to think it is not in the game, please at dolly varden. If there is the dolly varden already just tell us what location it is in. Great game though.
A bunch of our friends that do irl fishing have this app, our only concern is that we cant get passed the gallatin river mt without paying, in our position currently we cannot buy anything but is there anyway to get passed this?
Its a really good game we love it but could you make more things free instead of having to pay for a lot of things.
We would recommend trying to add more locations for free and a little more species but it is an awesome game.
We spend far too much time playing this, but its almost as addictive as the real thing. If youre into fly fishing, get this app. Its worth the money. If we might make a small suggestion. We dont know how easy it is to add species, but adding even just a handful more would push this game over the top and make it the best overall fishing app. If it were our decision we would definitely add: 1. Golden Trout 2. Tiger Trout Other fun ideas include: Arctic char, Dolly Varden, Bull trout, Mountain whitefish, Splake, Lake trout, Pike/Muskie, Walleye, Perch, White bass/wiper/striper.
This is better than the earlier version, and that is a tough one to beat! We cant fish anymore because of health, so this is our go to. We feel like Im on the river. Very realistic. You cast a few timesand move on to the next site since they arent biting. Check your fly and the critters around the water! We love this game!!
When we cant go fishing IRL .. This is the next best thing.
This is a really good game. The only problem we have is that on the iPhone XR, it doesnt take up the full screen, which Im not a big fan of. If in the future the game could have a feature to take up the whole screen, Id be really happy.
We love this game! What it could use is a guide system for fly tying (Ive never tied our own flies in real life so we have no idea what Im doing) and an update for just general things!
This game is very realistic and is extremely fun especially if u but the different streams.
Oh Paul, this is just heaven on a tablet brother. How many hours of straight joy and innocent peace do we get from this delightful software concoction. Especially when the weather is rough, this comes in perfectly! Best way to invest time in relaxation on iOS.
We have to say we are very impressed with this new fly fishing simulator. The graphics on the game have been improved, there are more fish species, and we love the new feature that allows the user to create/tie flys. This game also features very realistic fish behavior. The fish in the game react just as fish would in real life to the environment around them. The fish even seem to sit in the river where they would in real life (deep holes, eddies, etc.) Now for our very few complaints over the new HD fly fishing simulator. We personally think this new simulator is slower than the previous, such as when you are switching between sites. But that in all is our only slight complaint and in conclusion we must say that this is the most realistic fishing game on the App Store period.

We downloaded the original free game. Played for an hour and bought the whole kielbasa. Was never disappointed. Downloaded thIS HD version and didnt wait an hour. The flow of the water is so nice and smooth. Fighting the fish feels more streamlined, And we still love the beautiful ambient sounds. Adding fly tying was over the top awesome. You seem to have found that sweet spot of loving what you do. Doing it very well, and offering a lovingly crafted product at a fair price. So rare these days.

Hands down the best fishing game by miles. Only issue is we had all rods and leaders had to reset our phone and they are all missing and so are all our obtained flies.
Tbh we love the the controls and mechanics it fun and not super difficult the only problem we have is that bacislly almost everything cost money but other then that.
Quite frankly there no fly fishing video games anywhere lol. We absolutely love this game and love that you can get tips and advice while shooting some flies! Graphics are decent especially for a phone game but the fight and mechanics of the game are pretty good! We really hope the developers keep improving and making enhancements to the Game! If theres any way we could help Id love to! We would love if there was some way of mending and just improvements to the graphic we know thats probably a hard process but being that this is the only good fly fishing sim out there we know all of us anglers would greatly appreciate it. This game is 10/10 we love playing it at the office, but just had some words for improvement!:) take care guys keep slaying those rivers boys.
Interesting Game. Would love to be able to play at other rivers. Even after Rivers have been downloaded they are not available on the game. IPhone user can only play to the 1-3 options available as starter.
The main problem that Im having is that when we want to go and look at the rivers that we can download you keep shoving the package deal in our face and it freezes the game. We cant exit out of it and we have to close the app if we want to go back in. We are getting to the point that we really dont wanna open the app anymore. Also, the Flytying thing is a little lackluster. It would help if we could see the shape of each item or a suggestion of what it will do to the fly.
So we love the game and everything in it but the reel controls are Unusable. Trying to reel in a fish and the thing stops reeling. Its like its not sensing the input. We tried it on our old phone and our new phone and we had the same issue.
Its impossible to find Dolly Varden anywhere in this game despite it labeling as a catchable fish in the leaderboards.
So much fun. Challenging and enjoyable. Having a ton of trouble catching the Dolly Varden. Not even sure where to try. We were hoping the Kenai river, but no luck.
Loved it. No negatives. Could see it continue to grow but hope it continues to be available for years to come.
All we want is redfish, tarpon, and other saltwater species and this game would be great!
To start off, we never write reviews, but we love this game. The small water and stream fishing is so accurate with fish locations and how the fish fight. The price you pay for the full game is well worth the money. Its a great simulator for when you cant get out on the water but miss the action!
We love this game and spend hours playing it. The latest update had us confused for a little while, to the point where earlier today we wrote a review that we thought was true but have now discovered was simply our not noticing that our leader got reset to the lightest available. We kept losing flys trying to catch big fish. The guide even told us we should probably use a bigger leader… Our bad!! Its actually the best fly fishing simulator out there.
So we thought this game only had trout but then we caught a smallmouth bass and a salmon its our favorite fishing game.
This game is awesome! We think its better than the older version, but both are really good.
Very realistic river graphics, varied hatch activity, varied fly choice options, with the ability to tie your own flies to match the hatch. Options to chose different rod lengths, leader size, to suit river conditions, and option for sub-surface flies customized provision for strike indicator and split shot. In short this is a realistic and ENJOYABLE app.
Love this game, but has a glitch when you get a big fish on … The fish just keeps swimming and you cant reel it in .. Then eventually crashes. Without the glitch, it would easily be a 5.
This simulator is a lot of fun, but the same problem still exists except that now you get kicked completely out of the program. This seems to happen randomly and frequently.
Every time we get a new place to fish we try to load it in it kicks us out and we have to log back in every time. Even though it does this we love the game and if this was to change we would give 5 stars.
Where does this elusive fish hide!
We upgraded to this version and it keeps crashing while loading the 5th area of the very first sight. We’ve tried everything we could think of to get it to load but nothing we’ve done works. We really enjoyed the simulator before this one but unfortunately this one had been a bust for us.
We love this game! We’ve been playing it for years since there were only a few rivers and it has only gotten better. Question: any chance youll be adding any New Mexico rivers or streams in the future? We know each one takes a ton of work but was just curious we love to fish our state and was just curious if you had any plans for NM waters.
We have used this game for over a year and have paid for the full version. Its a fun game. We had to reinstall the app twice after last update but it is now working fine. Best fly fishing app out there.
We have played this game for almost a year no issues. The update about a week ago caused the game to crash every time we caught our second fish. We uninstalled and reinstalled. Now it crashes every time we attempt to restore our purchases. Thank you so much.
We are loving this app. Once you get the hang of the controls its great. Being able to tie flies is a really cool addition. We get to the point where we want to give these guys some of our money to buy new streams to fish, but the app crashes every time. Very unfortunate glitch.
This is a fun app until it quits working. If you move the rod while fighting a fish the reel quits working. It has no tension and you can spin it forever without reeling in a fish. Also crashes on certain rivers frequently. Could be a great app but needs some work.
We love this game, and we think it is one of the best fishing games out there. But we were thinking that it could use something more. We are obsessed with carp fishing. We found out that you can fly fish for them. In case you dont know where we are going with this. We were thinking that maybe you could add carp to the game. We dont want to pressure you too much but we would really like it if there were carp in the game and we think other people would too.
