What Makes Friday – by Friedemann Friese Stand Out

You are helping Robinson, who came ashore on your island, fight against many hazards. At the beginning, Robinson is not very skillful. With each fight he wins you will improve his abilities, but defeats are also helping to get rid off of his worse habits. However, life on the island is energy-sapping, so that Robinson not only gains experiences during his time there, but also starts aging and tends to get clumsy.
In this game, Robinson is represented as a card stack of different behaviors. You are forced to improve this card stack, so you can collect the cards at the end of the game to give Robinson the best chance to win against the tough pirates!

The App allows you to play the game on all 4 levels and also includes a new fifth level as special challenge .

Gain achievements by excellent performance!

Try to beat the community in the weekly highscore list!

The newest addition is finally there: King of the Island!
Beat up to 1024 players in a tournament with synchronized games to become the true King of the Island.

Community Insight:

Such a well designed game and the app works great.

This is an amazing game and a well-designed app that perfectly recreates the card play. Ingenious, challenging and rewarding. Certainly one of the very best solitaire games.

Best way to learn this terrific solitaire game. Polished look and feel. Seamless version of the physical game.

We updated the game and all achievements and high scores are gone.

We love the physical version of this game. But, the app is a wonderful, convenient digital implementation.

Have a physical copy of this game as well. The app is a good implementation that is true to the original. Have played this hundreds of times, and still find it challenging and fun. Finished from the same game designer is also excellent. Both take a lot of plays to get to a point where you win on a regular basis. Finished is probably a bit harder to get good at.

Love it. This is our favorite solo game to play, and the app is a phenomenal port of the original.

We love the board game version, and this is an extremely faithful adaptation. Great game, get it.

This is the hardest game we have ever played. Im 0/1569. Its addicting. Update: we finally figured out how to win!! Still a great time filler.

This implementation of Friday is spot on and enjoyable.

We enjoy this app even more than the physical game.

Fun, great implementation of the card game.

We love this card game so Im probably biased. This is our go to time killer when we need a game to fill a couple minutes. Updates have fixed some early issues. Everyone who loves solo board games should own this one.

This game never gets old. Be aware that if you dont know anything about deck builders this might confuse the crap out of you at first. This game is super challenging and fun! Im pretty good at it and we still only win 1/3 games. We like that in a game. Keeps you on your toes. Another great win by Friedemann Friese.

Once you know how to play this is a great app but there is minimal explanation as to what to do and playing through it a couple times doesnt seem to help. We had to watch a YT video to figure out how to play and now its super fun. Brutally hard but the physical game is notorious for being insanely difficult. Poor Robinson just wants to fight the pirates and get home to his family.

We had never played the physical version before, so we were coming in as a newbie with this app. The game itself is definitely one of the best solo card games out there. Its excellent. Its also very challenging, and it takes quite a while to figure out how to win, even on the easy level (which isnt exactly easy). Plus some luck is involved as with all solitaire games, so things have to line up right for you to win. If youve played the game before, youll figure out the app easier than someone like us who didnt know how to play. Even then, itll take you a few plays before you figure out the UI, as even with the limited help the UI is not intuitive. If you havent played the game before, youll have to watch videos online and visit some game user forums. That was the only way we could figure out how to play. Thats why we docked one star; there is no real tutorial. Still, now that we figured it all out, it was worth it. This is a very cool game. We lose way more than win, even on easy, but its still very fun to play, and it feels really satisfying when you do win. Thank you developer for making this game and also monetizing it fairly with no ads or IAP. Thats rare nowadays and very, very much appreciated. We highly recommend this game with caveats about the UI learning curve. Stick with it. Youll end up loving this game.

Pasted on theme makes this purely a math game. Very unthematic but simple enough to be adequately fun.

First, Im glad we have the app. It allows us to play this challenging game in a wide variety of situations. We have countless hours into the game at this point, thanks to the app. Thats the good. Now for the not so good. 1) developer support is non-existent. Ive contacted them many times about the following issues without a single acknowledgement. 2) The app cannot seem to understand how to use a single account between two iOS devices. Ive been unsuccessful in using the same account between tablet and phone. 3) Tablet support is lackluster. It does not rotate for using a tablet in landscape mode. 4) The app is very buggy on iOS when leaving the app with a new or continuing game in progress. Many times when launching the app again, there are programming errors displayed and you eventually just have to abort the game. Attempts to get action on these bugs and issues have fallen of deaf ears. If we didnt enjoy the game itself so much, we would have deleted this app a year ago, given these issues and lack of support. The only reason we gave it 3 stars was the balance of 5 stars for the game and 1 star for app bugs/lack of support.

This latest update has, for the first time in YEARS, let us access the leaderboards! Hold on, how do we register our email address? They mention something about adjusting it in Settings, but we see nowhere to enter an email.

Friday is a great little solo deck building game. Its great to have the game bailable on mobile, but the adaptation needs some work for people that arent already familiar with how the game is played. The English translation seems a bit questionable as well. Regretted the purchase initially but thought it would get smoothed out with updates. That apparently isnt going to happen. Oh well.

This is an amazing game and a well-designed app that perfectly recreates the card play. Ingenious, challenging and rewarding.

This game is fun, challenging, but light. There are a few stages of the game… After many plays you realize you can tweak your strategy and improve your win % even further, again.

Such a well designed game and the app works great.

Pros: Quick, fun, and challenging to play. Cons: There is a bit of a learning curve so tutorials/tips would help. Overall: Great game. We have physical copy of it and loved it so much, we picked this digital adaptation up so we can play when traveling.

Friday is a fantastic solo card game and this version does a great job of making it easy to jump in and play.

We enjoyed the physical card game. This implementation captures all the fun with none of the mess of setting up, tracking life with tokens, and putting it all away. It is just as challenging as the original but you can whip through the games to put your losses behind you. We have encountered a couple scenarios where we tried to take ab illegal action. Usually it recovers, but at the end of the game once (we were losing to the final pirate and tried to cheat) it hung the game. But otherwise it is smooth gameplay that tries hard not to let you forget to take advantage of your potential on the board.

We love this card game so Im probably biased. This is our go to time killer when we need a game to fill a couple minutes. Updates have fixed some early issues. Everyone who loves solo board games should own this one.

Fun and quick with a decent challenge.

Great solo game that is still fun after more than 100 plays.

This is a truly fantastic design. The interface is a tad confusing but manageable.

We enjoy this app even more than the physical game.

Love the boxed game. This saves set up time. Great game.

This is an honest and true recreation of the classic board game. Our favorite solo game of all time. This app is a smooth adaptation of the game. You will find your time flying by as you delve into this very challenging game. Enjoy.

Great adaptation of the card game. Made for one player only. Well done.

This game is fun and addictive. We play multiple times a day. Each game is different. We love the tournaments. A+ in our books.

Great adaptation of the card game. We actually enjoy the card game more because we learned the game mechanics on the app. But its always nice to have a short game on the phone for those moments when you have a few minutes to wait.

LOVE the king of the hill mode.

This is the hardest game we have ever played. Im 0/1569. Its addicting. Update: we finally figured out how to win!! Still a great time filler.

Just like the physical game without worrying about missing a step here and there. Just awesome.

Best way to learn this terrific solitaire game. Polished look and feel. Seamless version of the physical game.

Great game and great app implementation!! We love playing this.

This deck builder can be frustrating in the beginning, but as soon as you learn to leverage the cards to your favor, youll find success. The app plays true to the physical card game. This game has invaded our dreams. It might do the same for you.

Have a physical copy of this game as well. The app is a good implementation that is true to the original.

Took a while to wrap our head around the gameplay and rules but really liking this. Surprisingly deep strategy solo game, good for 5-10 minute breaks. Recommend watching videos on BoardGameGeek to learn the rules and gameplay, since the included instructions are a bit clumsy. Also we had trouble with the app crashing on iOS 13 but a delete and reinstall did the trick. Minor complaint: dont really like the art.

We love the physics version of this game. Its great to be able to play it with the app when Im away from home.

Friday got us into board games. We love solo games. This is an excellent implementation of one of our favorite games. We just wish there were more of Friedmann Friesses games on the App Store.

Love the card game. Mobile version helps with the rules a lot.

No complaints. Easier to play than managing the cards in the card game.

Fantastic implementation of the physical game. Plays quick and is enjoyable. Definitely worth its price of admission.
