Gin Rummy is a two player card game created by Elwood. T. Baker and his son Graham Baker. Gin Rummy evolved from 19th century Whiskey poker and created with the intention of being faster than standard rummy but less spontaneous than knock Rummy.
The objective of Gin Rummy is to score points and reach an agreed number of points or more, usually 150 before the opponent does. The basic game strategy of Gin Rummy is to improve one’s hand by forming melds and eliminating deadwood. Gin Rummy has two types of melds: Sets of 3 or 4 cards sharing the same rank, and runs of 3 or more cards in sequence, of the same suit. Deadwood cards are those not in any melds. Aces are considered low, they can form a set with another aces but only the low end of runs. A Gin Rummy player can form any combination of melds within their hand, whether it contains all the sets, all runs, or both. A hand can contain three or fewer melds to knock or form legal Gin.

Very challenging game, it makes you think quick.
You need to take this game off. It is horrible. Kicks us off all the time. We wont recommend this game to anyone.
You need to fix the bugs when we try to discard it freezes up and then we just have to quit and we lose please fix the bugs.
The is a lot of fun!! Occasionally game will freeze up and you have to start over. Hoping theyll get that problem fixed. But that hasnt stopped us from playing it because we do enjoy it.
Before we tell you about the bugs, we want to tell you that we love this game, there is a safer way that stage no one is perfect cards so you can be sure youre discarding the right one which we love! When we referred him money, we mean, our bet, but it was an absolutely truly FREE game, and you just have to watch a commercial to get 500 coins, so you can never run out. We love this game. The bugs probably hit every dozen games, so if youre not a compulsive player like we are, ha ha ha, you may not experience them. Even with the bugs, we would recommend it. First, when a person leaves in the middle of the game, it just hangs there and doesnt post the announcement that they left up till after several other games, meaning lots of money because we have to quit. Second, there are times where the wrong card is given, and then it locked up because it gave us the wrong card, it gives us a new card instead of the one that we selected out of the discard pile. Then it locks up and theres no fixing it. We have to quit and lose our money. Examples Third, sometimes its just plain locks up, and we cannot discard, we try everything go out come back in check all of the piles and nothing so we have to quit and lose money.
The game will randomly freeze. Not our internet. We have super fiber.
Fun until it often looses the internet connection in the middle of a game.
Gameplay is good overall and we enjoy two-player mode. Your server is unstable and frequently terminates our games due to no internet even though we are both sitting in a very strong wifi. The game shouldnt crap out when one packet fails to send. Add some retry logic – its not hard. Fix the server and our 3-star rating will become a 5.
Every now and then, theres a player, that cheats and deals a card from the discard pile when youve drawn from the draw pile. Cheater, cheater.
Game crashes /freezes up/ doesnt let you discard almost every other game.
If you know kind of what youre doing you can win at this game. Fun but dont like to bet so high even though its not real money.
Chat while you play but too many ads.
Needs less time allowed between turns and more game variations.
We like this app because it is not glitzy and works pretty well. BEWARE: When playing with online, dont use FaceTime audio on the same device. The app will erroneously complain about losing the internet, drop the game in play, end of story. Also, beware of ordering cards before knocking. E.g. Lets say you have 3456 and 777 and you knock. The app will how you knocking with 34567 and suddenly, 14 pts for the two sevens are added to your knock. We know, not possible to knock with that many pts, but it happens in this app. Also, if your opponent knocks and you are in the midst of ordering your cards with a 3 1 2 of hearts (eg) then the game wont give you credit for the meld (order it for you). You just ate 6 pts.
It needs to be improved . We hate the fact that it sorts your cards for you and we cannot turn it off and if youre in the middle of sorting your cards to create a three of a kind and someone knocks you loose those points its considered deadwood not cool.
When you play for the optional 300 points your opponent only has to put up 100, so if you do win, you only win 100 points but it cost you 300 to play, a rip.
We think the person Im playing can see our hand. How else can you explain how they hold on to the cards you need every single time? And how is it that the opponent can win every single hand without us even coming close except when we knock with only 3 points and somehow they undercut us!! Its just not right! Something is wrong with how the cards are distributed in the first place. NOBODY CAN GET BIG GIN THREE TIMES IN A ROW WITHOUT IT BEING RIGGED SOMEHOW.

Would be a fun game if it didnt decide to just quit whenever. Also keeps saying lost internet connection even when one hasnt. Really needs some work.
This game glitches frequently and doesnt allow you to complete a game.
Theres a glitch when a hand is calculated for scoring. Theres also another glitch that from time to time it will pick a card from the discard pile when you want a card from the deck.
We cant find our old game we had 1.5M.
Keep moving us back to slots or something besides the game. Looks like another will be deleted.
How do we get the old interface back? If we cant, this game will be an immediate DELETE. New interface is poorly designed, and doesnt therefore hold our interest.
Theres a glitch in the algorithm. It doesnt always recognize a winning hand. For example if you have a run and to three or four of a kind, It rearranges the cards into runs when in fact you have a winning hand.
On several occasions we went out with rummy and scored much higher, yet the opponent won by undercutting us. We just lost last game with Rummy plus 99 card points & our opponent had 33 card points plus two cards (9 points) left in hand.
Game favors Robot. We dont mind losing and love a good challenge but unfortunately you wont get the challenge. Just the losing otherwise great graphics.
The more we play this game the more we know it’s rigged. Phone (player) gets delt winning hands. Gets Gin within 5-6 draws. Impossible on a real game! A very disappointing game!! We like a challenge but not when it’s set up for you to lose every game. Sure you win a couple of hands but never win a game.
