Community Insight:

This game is absolutely worth the price. We loathe pay-to-win games and this aint one of those. We played 99% of this without a controller and its still enjoyable. We did get a backbone before finishing it. Now Im actually looking forward to replaying it.

Playing this on iphone16 pro max is very nice. Thank you.

Finally a game on the phone that is fun to play.

We used to try to play this game a long time ago even when it 1st came out on a lot of the cheap phones like Samsung cheap brands, Motorola, lg,and it never worked on the androids and then the apple old school phones apple iPhones Se to the 3rd gen but now it is working great even with the game controller now this is awesome with the apple iphone 16 e great job. And no fence to apple old school phones but apple deserves there credit for the iPhone 16 e Im like super proud of apple because this is like our realest 1st phone that we have seen with real quality work that have been put together yay for apple for bringing us back home to our apple life and thank you for making this a great game to as well.

This game is exactly what we were looking for. An rpg that isnt so in depth with so much immersion that busy man cant even play it. Theres just the right amount of rpg elements but kept simple enough that you can play without a huge commitment. Well done.

The buttons feel so precisely put on the screen whereas in other games you have to constantly move things around they did them SO well in this game. Perfect difficulty, has provided years of enjoyment. Sorry for just now leaving our review.

This games combination of combat and movement is wondrous combination of fluidity, speed, and impact. We loved Swordigo back in the day, and this is a spectacular follow up.

Definitely in the top two of our favorite mobile games.

This reminds us so much of an old game called swordigo. Lots of nostalgia playing through and hunting for all the secret goodies. Top 5 best mobile games imo.

We love the sides stroller. It reminds us of the old PlayStation Vida style games, loads of fun, lots of action and a cool story.

Wow. This game is awesome. We first bought Grimvalor a little over 4 years ago and wasn't expecting much. But since then it has been one of the most fun games for us to come back to again and again and keep playing it even after finishing. It takes around 10 hours to fully complete the game for us and it is probably some of the most entertaining 10 hours of gaming you will ever have. Everything about it is perfect and well designed in order to create a challenging but not frustrating atmosphere during the whole play through. The only tiny thing is that the story is kinda hard to follow and is a little confusing but everything else makes up for that tenfold. We highly recommend it to anyone who wants to have an actual fun gaming experience that requires focus and skill but also gives you an immense sense of accomplishment after every boss fight. The controls can be slightly confusing but once you get it down you feel so powerful destroying massive areas with tons of enemies and huge bosses that cover the entire screen with crazy attacks. Nothing ever feel repetitive or overdone, its the perfect mix of constant fighting and action to chill dialogue and story elements. The cost is a small price to pay for the fun you will have playing this game, especially if you try to complete all the achievements. We finally competed the hardest achievement today (beating the game at level 1), and that was one of the hardest gaming things ive ever done. If you want a real challenge that takes time, do a level 1 run. Love this game. Please make a dlc or something.

We mean this in the most genuine way possible, this game is worth the money. It has solid mechanics, that remain fluid throughout its gameplay. Bosses are unique, in a way. We dont want to give too much away but we do want to give a huge kudos to the devs. You guys did a awesome job combining combo-gameplay it feels so natural traversing then running in combat. Love the game.

Most games like this arent like the look But THIS ONE IS AWSOME!!!! Graphics are great and story line is awsome best game ever.

One of the best and closest game we have played for all the time , we finished it at least 5 times, If the developers still active PLEASE make new levels and weapons and contents because this game worth doing it and even if you make it like packages with money we are sure gamers like us will buy it without thinking about it twice, Please dont let great game like this die Thank you and hopefully you guys will listen :).

Is a pretty good game. The only down side to it is that once you have defeated all the bosses and completed the main story there is not much else to do. Our suggestion is that once you complete the main story and the DLC, all the bosses get to respond after you walk away through the gates or pray on the statues just like the rest of the regular enemies do. That way if you feel nostalgic and you dont want to restart a new game you can just fight them forever now. And also another good idea would be if we also get the option of increasing the gameplay difficulty to were all the enemies scale proportional to our level that way were never too overpowered and still have a good time even when fighting regular monsters.

Im not a big mobile gamer but got to give credit where credits due. These guys killed it and in rareform released it without the nickel and dime strategy. But this game you wont regret it especially if youre into hackslash/souls like games.

This game loves for you not to have time to be able to heal up. Thats all Im gonna say, that and the whole suspended circles mechanic is incredibly difficult to master. Been playing for a while and still cant do it. Other than that , lovely game.

We love that isnt to easy but its not hard.

Needs a new act. But actually take the time and make it good Ill wait.

So far its a well done side scroller with RPG attributes. Well worth the one time payment for no advertising, micro charges, or pay to win mentality.

Game is great!!! Story, graphics, and gameplay are epic.

There was an older 2D iOS game that was very much like a 2D version of Zelda called Swordigo. It's free and its still available on the app store despite coming out over a decade ago. Grimvalor reminds us alot of Swordigo Grim Valor seems heavily Souls-Like; Inspired by Souls-Like games. It isn't a complex game, but theres elegance in its simplicity. Definitely worth checking out.

Awesome graphics and gameplay, but the controls are difficult. Randomly jump vertically instead of forward or backward, randomly do our long special strike when Im just trying to strike, randomly engage with objects when Im trying to hit the attack button. Annoying.

If youre looking for a fun gamedo not buy this gameit is unnecessarily frustrating and stressful even with a controller.

The absolute worst part of this game is how the developers havent made a new one yet. Everything about this game is amazing and Ive been waiting for a sequel or another game from them and nothing. We have money in our hand waiting to give it to you. Why arent you taking our money.

Good metroidvainia style mobile game.

Totally blown away with this game. Has aspects of dark souls and bloodborne combined with a platformer. Definitely worth every penny.

We always been looking to find similar games to this but couldnt find any for couple pf years now. Sequel is overdue! We want more of this.

2022, 4 years later, still one of the best iOS games Ive played. Definitely recommend Gameplay/Combat – 8/10 Controls – 8/10 Level design – 7/10 Sound – 10/10 Stability – 10/10 Narrative – 5/10 For anything that had less than a 10, its mostly due to the games overall simplicity. But each of aspects were polished enough to leave you with an excellent experience.

Love this game! Just started Act II, about 3 hours in, and already Im hooked! Takes elements from several different genres and blends them together very well. Never played Castlevania and have only played (and beat) Metroid Dread, but we can see us playing this A LOT! Might even check out others in the genre now. Great game, worth way more than theyre asking! (Side note, cant comment on touch controls, have only played with controller.).

Grimvalor is one of those games that really shows that mobile gaming can be a great experience, and its worth every penny if you like what you see on the trailer. Let us just give a few highlights. Sound: we were really impressed by the sound design, from the music to the sound effects, it was all very atmospheric and felt like we really was experiencing an epic, high-stakes adventure. Controls: we played using a backbone controller, and we have to say the game was incredibly fluid and responsive. The mechanics and the physics were tightly tuned made us feel like an action hero. If we died (and we died a lot) we knew it wasnt because of unfairness in tthe controls Difficulty: This game is challenging, seriously, and we loved it. We died many times on the standard difficulty, but there was nothing unfair about it. You need to have good reflexes, or you will develop them quickly, in order to finish this game. We were very pleased to see the availability of New Game+, which is definitely harder if the first boss is any indication. Conclusion: Grimvalor is one of the best games for the money that you can get on Mobile. The basic gameplay loop is satisfying and addicting, the difficulty is perfect for those seeking a challenge, and the sound design is really good! Like we said, if you look at the trailer and think it looks like your kinda game, just buy it, you probably wont regret it. These developers need to be commended, and we hope they make more games in the future.

Now ever since we came back to the apple iPhone we see that this game respond better then it has in the past we do not see any lag and we do not have any problem with seeing what we are aiming at during battle now in the past we had a big issue with that and the lag a lot with our old iPhone Se but with this new iPhone Se yall got it made so we can get back what we lost and we wanna thank you and that is why we gave yall the 5 stars for this game. And nice improvement on the game to.

Grimvalor is an excellent well polished and well produced game. What a product!! WOW.

Lotta boss fights, graphics & gameplay. Good game Overall. P.S. – lotta grind.

This game is amazing! Loved its forefather Swordigo but honestly this is all around a better game! If you enjoy hack and slash rpgs that require strategic defensive timing and with power scaling, upgrades etc.download this game it is 100% worth the money.

Amazing game but every time we die we wish it does a note like dark souls lol.

Most mobile games are low effort pay to win games but you can see the developers of this game actually put effort into it.

The combat is fast and flashy. Air combos, juggles, guard break, dive kicks. Large variety of enemies. We played with a mifi controller(Razer) and it played like a dream. This game is NOT roguelike. It's not really that hard (at least with a controller). Not too easy either though. We died many many times. For level up stats, we went with pure DPS (savagery and mastery), only getting enough Focus to be able to equip all trinkets. This left us dying in just a few hits (one hit on some boss moves) and made it more interesting for us. With a bunch of new weapons and trinkets and harder enemies and boss battles, NG+ is well worth the second pass. Great music. As a composer, we think it would've been cool to have someone do an original score instead of drawing from music licensing banks, but this is probably a smaller developer and might not have been possible for some reason, monetary or otherwise. Nevertheless it's a great selection of music. Also we're pretty sure no one reading this cares at all. Bottom line. 5/5.

We LOVE THIS GAME THE POWERS ARE COOL!!! GOOD JOB FOR MAKING THIS.

We always thougt mobile ports or gaming in general was a joke, but this game is so great. We use a razer Kishi to play and it really is amazing.

This game is basically a 2d souls game in. Its own unique style , the gameplay is so fluid and the combat is intense . Our favorite mobile game of all time.

So far Im lovin it. The controls are easy and responsive. Very fun game. Ill update if theres something wrong with the game.

Like the Souls series? If so, youll love this.

This is the game with the perfect hybrid of fantastic gameplay and superior aesthetic taste. The rich, abundant content shows the great effort and thoughts the team has put into it. Actual perfect games that arent made for the purpose of money grab have been extremely rare these days. This is a game made by people with real passion and respect for art.

Great game. If you like souls games youll enjoy.

This game is action packed with a ton of bosses multiple acts and you can create a new game anytime you please.

Its basically 7.99 dark souls mobile. Except more satisfying and frustrating lol.

Just finished our first play through. This game is kind of like a 2D Dark Souls in a way, although with simpler combat. Took about & hours to complete doing a modest amount of exploration and completing each level. The grinding ended up being worth it because the end of the game is hard and youll need all the weapons and power ups you can get. Highly recommend this + playing with a controller.

One of the best ARPG games. Perfect balance. Love it a lot.

We love this hack n slash game since we got the iPhone 8 Plus.
