Community Insight:

Some of the puzzles were just too tedious and the storyline has very little logic to help you. Butthe MAP is always there to help you find the next thing. We enjoyed it.

We are so impressed with this game and we dont rave about many games. We think the last one we truly loved was the PuppetShow series, and thats been a long time ago. Some of the mini games were difficult, but not because they were made poorly, they just really made you stop and think about how to solve them. Loved the little guy in here, perfectly drawn, voiced and attitude. Later on down the road, we will come back and replay the game. Please make more of this quality of game.

A very well put together addition for this series. Love the character voiceovers and the attention to detail that the developers incorporated into this game. Interactive hidden object scenes, puzzles, teleporting map and a real suspenseful storyline. Puts you in a real detective mode as your searching for who the killer might be. Yes, the storyline tends to be on the gory side at times – however it all plays into the search of the murderer. We are thoroughly enjoying this installment and recommend buying it! Thank You, Big Fish (especially for giving us back 2 New Releases a week!) & Thanks to the developers for their creativity. Happy Gaming Everyone!!! KdBoots.

We all hidden games amazing!!!!!!L.

Touch controls/hitboxes/whatever could be better but otherwise a fun, weird game.

The game was pretty fun. But at the end it told us we could play the bonus game only there was no bonus game.

Id love to write a review but Ive tried to load this game three times with no success. We dont have any trouble loading others and our iPad is new.

We love the game, but one puzzle (the birds) we had to skip even though we had it right, and the golden apple snake maze was near impossible to guide bc you cant see the ball, we used our pinky. Story is awesome, other games are difficult but awesome. The mechanics of the game are delayed some, but we would still buy at a discount only.

We usually like this series, but this one fell short. The touch sensitivity is WAY off. We were constantly backing out of a scene when we didnt want to, because in trying to pick up an inventory item it would drop as we were moving it and then back us out! The bird picture mini game wouldnt accept the solution on hard mode. We backed out of the game, then when we went back in several pieces were turned wrong, like the game didnt accept our last few moves. Then we were able to fix it and the game accepted our solution. A few games we spent forever just swiping trying to move a game piece. We were able to do all the mini games, but it took a lot of effort. The premise is that this is a murder investigation, but thats not really looked into. At the very end of the bonus they hint at what happened to the victim. And at one point a weird creature attacks two characters, then nothing else in the story ever refers to that, and the creature is not seen again. It seems like the story was supposed to go in one direction, then it was changed part way through to a different story. We liked the characters, they were quirky. A disconnect was collecting day of the dead skulls, which told you about that celebration in Mexico. Huh?? The game is set in 19th century England! We liked the flower achievements. The puzzles in this game are medium difficulty, harder than in most games, so we were pleased about that. Hops are varied, but nothing exciting. This could have been a good game, but the touch sensitivity ruined the fun.

Sort of maddening when you know what to place and where, but it wont accept the piece. Then you hit the hint button and it tells you to do exactly what you were trying to do, and then it works. Many of the explanations of what to do on the puzzles are rather lacking.

Once again, another glitchy installment in this ERS series which focuses on Saint Germain, the evil dwarf. As usual the storyline focuses on the dwarf trying to gain eternal life by draining it from others. You could customize settings. At certain locations you collect, and heres an oxymoron for you, cheerful human skulls (because they are adorned with flowers!) In addition, you collect weather-themed icons for your storm machine, so these were mandatory collectibles. There was a marked teleport map to transport you between locations, albeit not instantaneously. Inventory was labeled and interactive and there were complex items to assemble. Objectives were regularly updated but there was no cohesive journal. The graphics were excellent although they were creepy, but this game falls under the horror genre. The HO scenes had variation. Most of the mini-games and puzzles were of the rotational sort, so to us they were banal and unoriginal. However, like Domini Games, ERS also allowed you to choose the difficulty level during certain mini-games. The biggest issue we had was that there were touch screen sensitivity issues, where application of inventory items was finicky, as well as manipulation of the puzzles and games. The game also froze up on us as well. We had to skip several due to this problem. If ERS had quality assurance levels that matched the excellence of the graphics, they would have a winning equation for the game, but that was not the case. Its unfortunate because the gameplay itself was enjoyable. ERS really needs to start giving us a back button because the user interface allows us to backtap quite easily to prior locations! The game was on the short side, inclusive of the bonus adventure. We deducted stars for the unoriginal storyline and mini-games, and also for the overall glitches we encountered throughout the game. Our actual review is 3.5 stars. We would suggest to other gamers not to purchase this game immediately and play the trial first to see if you can tolerate the problematic technical issues. Lynxie sends to all and wishes you all happy holidays! We hope Thursdays game is better and not one from ERS! Apparently this was not the case, as Thursdays game is from Daily Magic, who is famous for the extremely annoying leaping inventory and difficulty when placing inventory items. This was a bad week for games! UPDATE: Now BigFish is starting with a sale running through January 1, so we dont really know if well get a game on Sunday or Monday, but lets all hope for one. The amazing Izzyoc has informed us about a bunch of upcoming games so keep your fingers crossed.

Graphics okay, some glitchy touching issues but most annoying is too many people and reading small text. Would rather have more mini-games.

Not to bad of a game. We just got stuck on the skull and teeth game and couldnt reset it or skip so we couldnt finish the game.

You need to put items EXACTLY where the game wants you to.

…only to discover that you were doing the correct thing the entire time. There were times we tried placing an object (that we were positive was the correct one) all kinds of different ways into the spot and it would not work. So, we give up, use a hint and it tells us to do what Ive been doing for 10 minutes already. We also had issues where we solved the bird puzzle correctly, looked it up online to make sure we were right, we were right, we started the puzzle over, did it again and it still wouldnt work. We ended up having to change it to easy to continue the game and make it work. Also, the puzzle that youre trying to get the key to drop to the bottom was constantly malfunctioning. We were doing it correctly. We ended up having to skip that one because it wouldnt let any of our moves go through correctly. It kept starting over when there were still moves left on the board and not registering ours correctly. Oh our god…the coffin key puzzle. The mechanics were so bad on that one that we nearly gave up and skipped it too. Id just tap and slide and nothing would happen. So frustrating. We just had to mess with it forever. Definitely some kind of glitch. Dont be fooled by the free beginning part. The beginning worked fine for us. Almost immediately after the purchase point, it started with the issues/glitches. Also, whats going on with the giant space at the bottom of the screen? The way its set up made everything smaller. Also, If you tapped anywhere near the bottom third of the screen, the part above your inventory and the unnecessary extra space they added, itd send you back when you didnt want to go back. Youre basically only using a little more than half of the screen. It even malfunctioned in the HOPs like that. Super annoying. Its not even worth it being on sale. Ive been reading through these reviews and wondering why big fish still has this game up for sale. Therere horrible reviews, dating back 3 years, that talk about all the same issues Im talking about. If youre not going to fix the issues, pull the game.

Ive played other games in this series before that were great. The storyline has potential but this game is buggy, its hard to select items, and the dialogue/written content is almost impossible to read. Im angry that we paid to unlock this, its so bad.

The red lettering has to go some of your puzzles are not solvable when we solve them they do not except it so then we have to use skip very frustrating.

Had to skip several puzzles as the touch action did not work. No issue with other games. We usually like this series – bummer.

It keeps messing up it will take us out of place Im in when we tap something that needs to be done.

We never write reviews but this game has so many glitches several of the puzzles you solve and nothing happens. We even looked at the strategy guide and we had the puzzle correct. Only way to proceed was to change to the easy version we did it exactly the same as the hard version but suddenly it works. Objects dont appear to work after several tries we hit hint and it tells us to do exactly what we have already done very annoying. Recommend wait until they fix the glitches before you buy.

Like others we have had to skip quite a few of the puzzles because of unresponsive/glitchy touch points.

This is the third game from Big Fish Ive downloaded and played that would not allow us to purchase the game after playing the free portion. The game will not allow us to unlock and purchase the rest once Ive completed the free portion. Very frustrating.

This game has far too many glitches. Its shocking that anyone would release a game like this. It was a frustrating waste of our time.

Trying to pick up items and move them was exasperating. Slide puzzles that take 9 or 10 swipes to move a single piece. Hard to put your finger on one pixel to select the piece. This scenario was repeated many times. Thank goodness for the skip button. It saved us from just deleting the game. Can we please code the game consistently? It gets old trying to guess how to back out of a scene. Is it lower left, lower right, center.

Right after you buy, things get super buggy. We've had to skip puzzles because they don't work. Save your money.

We had to reload to get past the 1st frozen puzzle just to have it freeze on the following puzzle.
