We love the whole idea of the game its amazing and so nice to see the world, but one thing we would like to see added is the border as someone who has a newer phone it can be annoying that the game is not completely taking up the whole screen, what we mean is there is black lines at the top and bottom it gives the game a old look like we should be playing it on a old phone. Besides that minor issue the game is amazing and so fun!

Great game and definitely worth the money. Reminds us a little bit of Zelda. The graphics are very pretty and the art is cute. Our only very minor complaint would be the controls, which can be finicky when you need precision. All in all an excellent game that we will be recommending to friends.

The game is pretty good. We like the concept and everything except for these little things. 1. The controls on the game are so bad. It is very hard to move in a certain direction without moving to far or going in a different direction altogether 2. The game lags. Idk if it was something to do with our device but we doubt because it is new. But the game will freeze for like 20 seconds before going back to normal. 3. If it freezing wasnt enough, it crashes as well. It has crashed multiple times when we have tried to play this game. Other than all of those things, it is a good game. But, it could use a lot of improvement.

The developer keeps saying you should play this with one hand. On what device? Not an iPad, not an iPhone pro max or even a pro device. Such a shame that the controls are not optimized for all devices, seemed like a cool game with beautiful graphics.

The absolute wonkiest game we’ve ever played.

Great update, we lot of what we had not liked about the game before was fixed very quickly, thank you for the hard work northplay!

As much as we have enjoyed the few minutes of gameplay we got in, we cant even finish the free 45-minutes because the game keeps freezing. The music will continue just fine, but nothing moves, even after waiting for a few minutes. We would love to finish the game, the paid 5+ hours included, but dont want to pay for it if we cant even progress to it, or finish it. Edit: Freezing has stopped, not sure of the cause, but develops were quick to reply to our email and we’ve been able to progress in the game.

The game has a lovely aesthetic and that is what we were looking for! Even though we didnt pay for the game ( in our country is a bit expensive ) Im waiting for more games like this! :) Good job, Northplay.

Dont listen to all these entitled brats that are complaining that the whole game was not free, we mean come on you little twits! The try before you buy model the developers have presented is perfect, and the game is super charming! The attention to detail is great and the developers are listening to the feedback and making things even better. We’ve made it to the final shard and the final battle is intense! Id gladly pay more for such an immersive game. Good job Northplay!

We play through the free version and liked the game but we dont like the controls and how the camera moves with it. We went to the in games store and after finding out that collision was on for some objects we spent maybe 30 minutes messing around. At one point even trying to get one of the gnomes in the apple bowl. We would love to see more games with collision on, it just so fun.

We have purchased the game and we have been exploring. We found some discs. Apparently, there is an alchemy hut? Awesome!

Our toddler accident our bought the game but we kept it…. Would ha e been 5 stars but worth all these updates, why no new levels?!?!

The control of character is terrible. Seems this game could be so much more. Honestly the movement just makes you not want to play. Hope you guys find a new control scheme.

Nice game, great graphics. The motion control needs to be fixed. Moving around is erratic. Playing with one hand on an IPad wont work because the screen is too large and when you touch the other side accidentally the motion stops.

Scam scam scam it was not 45min its all a scam if you like the game its not good we cant even get the one thing.

We cant tell you how infuriating it is when you download a free game and you are hit with well, really you have to pay for it but because we suckered you into downloading it we will give putty time to play it. We know you think you just want people to experience it and that way they will be willing to pay the amount. Just stop. We did not even play it as a result.

Admittedly, we were a little hesitant to try the game after reading the reviews about the controls, but honestly, the controls are very smooth once youre used to them. We have found that flicking the controls in a direction is much better for movement and especially combat, as opposed to holding our thumb down and moving it. The game is beautiful, the sounds are satisfying, and we were relieved to see that purchasing the entire game was only $6, which is a small price for such an incredible work. We are excited to finish the game, and we look forward to more from the developers! So if youre hesitant to try the game, just give it a bit of time and practice, and Im sure youll love it just like we do!

This approach to selling your game is one of the most scummy approaches you can do, straight up. Just charge the actual price up front instead of baiting people into a free game just to charge them later. Honestly not even going to try the game because of this, its the first sign of a bad approach to developing.

Very difficult to move the character around, one moment hes running and the next hes walking slowly.

Five stars just for the blunt honesty others are giving one star for. But luckily the game is deserving the five on game play alone.

This is a nice fun take on an RPG! We love the simplicity in the controls and the resource system. Instead of having to grind a single level/enemy for levels and loot you get simple resources scattered across levels, and can buy them as bonuses near the end too! The way you collect different kinds of weapons is really nice as well! Instead of getting lucky and killing a boss over and over again for a weapon you want, or going through a level over and over getting items you dont want, its instead as simple as inserting a key and facing off against some hordes of enemies for weapon blueprints! Love the game, cant wait for more to come!

We know the game cost money and not everything is not perfect because it just came out. But people will be toxic and just ignore them, enjoy the work you do :)

We love this game! We’ve been looking for vertical and one finger game :) One thing, when character stopped, camera zoom in, when character move, camera zoom out. Its too much zoom in and out when we try to get items.

This game is lovely. Worth every penny.

Northplay is a great indie studio and we’ve thoroughly enjoyed their last games. This one reminds us a lot of Zelda when it comes to story and visuals, great to see something like this on iOS. However we were very disappointed that this is only playable in portrait mode on iPad. The touch controls definitely leave something to be desired as well. We would also love to play this sitting in front of a TV with a controller, either through Apple TV or Nintendo Switch.

Aside from the player movement feeling a little clunky at times, theres still a great game here. We’ve only played for about 20 minutes, but its addicting!

Really like the game style, looks like it has potential to be really fun. However the controls are killing us, like literally! They just arent accurate or precise enough. We dont particularly like not having an action button or at least the option of D- pad movement especially when the touch controls feel so unpolished. Maybe the controls will grow on us after we play a bit more ….

Im so happy Headland has came out! We pre-ordered it and looked forward to playing it. We played the 45 minutes of free gameplay and went ahead and bought the full game. Theres a few things that need to be brought to someones attention though… First, Combat. The combat in the game is incredibly annoying. Playing this game on phone is very difficult. Playing with one hand means you cannot attack and move at the same time. Playing with two hands makes it strenuous to attack as well because sometimes Nor will move instead of attack, attack instead of move, or completely miss the enemy. The combat is finicky, thats all on that. Second, the shards. If you collect the last shard, youre able to just go ahead and fight the last boss no matter how many shards youre missing. Convenient for the player, but still isnt correct. It is a very fun game but sometimes things like the combat takes some of the fun away. Only some.

The game looks good, sounds good, and has potential. That alone equates to a 2.5 star game. Unfortunately, we have to remove 2.5 stars for such poor controls, lack of control options, and for portrait only mode. IMHO, theres just no excuse these days for poor controls. None. And we were really looking forward to playing too. Hopefully, there will be an update soon and Ill revisit the game to update our review as well. And there will be an update to the controls, because we promise the reviews will come in droves.

So we are one of the people that pre ordered this game. We were very excited to see that it had downloaded after the wait. When we play we noticed that we would only get 45 minutes of game play and had to pay 5.99 for the full 5 hours. Youve said youve spent years on this game but we understand you simply just trying to make money. But a lot of other people are also disappointed with how this turned out to be, seeing how the trailer was very nicely made but the character graphics in the game were nothing near that. When we had noticed we had to pay 5.99 for the full gameplay we were also disappointed because 5 hours doesnt seem that long do to the amount of money we have to pay just to play a game we’ve been longing for. We thought it was a good idea to give people who had pre ordered the game the full gameplay or at least a better advantage at gameplay but this game turned out very disappointing. We were honestly more excited when Sky: Children of the Light came out because it has more to it than just 45 minutes of playing.

Does anybody know how to open the reminder gates are the golden gates and the purple gates because we already had open the turquoise gate so please help out if you know.

Not worth paying $5.99 for a game that has a story that feels rushed and pushed on you.. Also the controls and camera feel a bit weird.

So far, this game is fun. Love the animation, story is cute. Appears to have a lot to be coming up- story wise as long as potential power ups (maybe?). Again, Im only minutes into this game, but so far, it has truly captured our interest, and we plan on purchasing the full version once we get there. Lastly, the fact that the devs give you a nice headsup that we are welcomed to the first 45mins of the game from the getgo, that was awesome- instead of diving into it for almost an hour and then being surprised that you have to pay for the rest, nicely done devs, that is much appreciated.

Best game ever this is the frame that stands out from everyone so good this should be. 10 star game.

Such an amazing game. The creativity, the graphics, the story… EVERYTHING!!! Definitely will continue to play and see what all unfolds. We WILL be sharing it with friends!!! WELL DONE!!!

This game is great! Might buy the rest. Wish it was only $3 though.

We were so stoked for this to come out! This game is definitely fun so far. The story is cute, the mechanics are easy to understand, its very colorful and nicely done. Our only complaints right now are that there is no option to pick male or female, there are a few glitches in the graphics here and there, and the controls are a tad too touchy. It would be nice to be able to change sensitivity, but Im getting used to it. You have 45 minutes to try the game out before you have the option to buy, and we felt that was a good time frame to see if we would really like it enough to spend $6 on it. Which we did, by the way. The game definitely grabbed our attention, and thats hard with having the attention span of a gnat. You can tell a lot of love went into this game. Great job!

So instead of making this game f2p, the makers of this game decided to charge ppl $5.99, now the game, its not bad but we cant say its good because we need to pay to cont, so if there anyone who payed the money plz write a review cause Im not paying..

Was there a price for this app? Or is it free.

So we pre-ordered this game excited for its release then we just open the game and we see that we only get 45 minutes of play for free. We understand if you need more money but just put in app purchases thats what therefore to make money. We shouldnt have to only play for 45 minutes turn out to like the game and then we have to suffer because we cant play a game that we like even more. If you put your heart into it for years then maybe you would respect the fact the people are really going to want to play the game for free. You can put in app purchases and make it to where theyre ads every once in a while. Extremely disappointed with this game was looking forward to it, all to be disappointed be disappointed.

Im not paying money for this game we deleted it as soon as we saw it costs money nice try Im not playing it.

Im sure people worked hard on this, but graphics are bad and other games similar to this play much smoother. We deleted this game.

Not worth the game for 6$ for 5+ hour of game content playing.
