Community Insight:
The battle system, if you can even call it that, is flawed. You move up to 3 heroes to get energy. Each hero only gets 4 moves and you cant move backwardshuh? You need to collect enough energy to use your attack skills. The AI seems to always get extra movement, has heroes that use skills right away, and can often times one shot our heroes from long range. The town buildingoh boy, you can only build on building at a time and it takes a day+ to finish. We cant even look at our quest log while the building is being builtthat makes zero sense. There is a lot to do in this game, unfortunately it is all centered on spending on in-game currency and watching hundreds of ads. As a big fan of the classic Heroes of Might & Magic PC games, this one is a bad attempt at recreating that turn based rpg greatness.
FF Tactics kind of vibe. Only slower, with less character customization, and not much of a story line. Its ok though, considering what we have to choose from these days. Definitely not pay to win. Ill bet it would probably be a better game if it was though. When youre playing it feels like the devs are not compensated very well. 5 stars though because we like turned based strategy.
Like it so far it moves fast enough to mess with during some down time.
Great game, nothing left to say.
Amazing game! So fun and challenging! You can ignore any reviews saying you have to pay for things or pay to win. We have played for at least a month and not payed for a thing while continuously advancing through the levels. As you level up you unlock different game modes to play which are all great and gives you multiple ways to practice different strategies. Love this game.
Hi guys we Your game, we downloaded it because it had orcs. We LOVE ORCS! So it said to unlock the orc you need to upgrade the nomad tent to level 2, so we thought thats easy. It wasnt. It kept going to that same screen but it never showed UPGRADE. So please respond. Love you guys and your game. Byyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.
Fun gmae really enjoying it you should try it out.
This game was outstanding at first. But after a while, we kept getting stuck on the same levels just getting one shot by higher level characters (even if they werent higher level theyd still probably one shot and even if you keep using the same 3 characters for xp). Luckily you dont HAVE to pay for any currencies and theres ways to get everything, it appears. However, the amount of gold we started to keep needing to revive our characters was quickly depleting and required to keep beating the levels. It maybe the strategy to get you hooked in and then to pay. We would be down to pay money for other cool characters but not for progression. Thought about giving this a lower rating considering how frustrating it is we are going to have to drop the game. But it is the best/closest game to Fall Seal on mobile and its so close to being exactly what we were looking for.
Great game, lots of stuff to do to upgrade your heros and lots of cool items to find to boost their stats.
If you want to just relax and do some turn base this is the ticket. Not complicated and old school.
Updated 1/31/22: This game is great – tactics, music, lore all impressive. Completed all the currently available PvE levels without any IAPs. After that, joined the guild and will continue there to support the devs. Map 3 was amazing and obviously had tremendous creativity, time and effort devoted to its development. Subsequent maps felt rushed by comparison. PvP is too grindy IMO. The game is a clearly an ongoing work in progress and we believe it will continue to improve over time. Im looking forward to more content the devs come up with using this platform. Feature request: please add a button to remove all equipment from all characters, and please add the ability to sort equipment by stat. === Really enjoy the fact that this game requires deeper tactical analysis than many other games of this genre. Disagree with others who have stated the enemies do not follow the rules. Am currently around halfway through Map 3 and have not purchased any IAPs. For those who have moved from Map 2 to Map 3 and regret doing so due to lack of harvestable resources, theres a resource exchange feature that will be of help. Heres what you need to know: from the top level store/chest menu, scroll to the right and youll see the option to exchange resources for other resource types. On Map 3, if you have not purchased IAPs (and perhaps even if you have) you will need to plan several of your battles to win. In order to plan effectively consider the following: enemy skills and order of execution; your skills and order of execution; map layout; optimal gear deployment; random factors such as who goes first and odds of moving twice. For certain fights, failing to take all of this into consideration will yield a bad result. There are battles where one needs to go first in addition to having everything else right. There are battles where going tank is required, and where going assassin is required. Hope this helps and good luck.
Seems fun so far, like the turn based nature but havent gotten that far into it yet.
Game forces rating before we can really get into it. Might be better than a 4 star once we can play more.
This game has the potential to be a good game. However, when you load the other side with an unfair advantage in both location and energy it makes for a dull and frustrating game. Have played it for sometime, we are deleting the app as the combat is usually one sided that it makes the game unfair. At least give both sides a fighting chance. Probably the developers want to con you into spending money to get stronger.
For the person who likes shifting strategies based on situational awareness. Position matters.
Started playing the game and spent about $20 of real money on it and watched a lot of commercials too. The game gets exponentially harder. Unless we spend more money, we dont see how we could progress in the game. Will have to just delete the game. Good job keeping a customer playing your game for 1-2 weeks. We have games that we have been playing for 5-6 years.
One of our favorite console games of all time was Gladius on the Xbox. This mobile game is the closest thing Ive ever seen to the game Gladius. Its not nearly as good, but theres something about it that keeps us playing.
Just started this game and its cool.
Its a strategy game but you cant use really strategy on some of the game modes because the computed armies dont follow game rules. This includes attacking way outside of there attack range, moving more spaces than is supposed to be possible and adjacency logic. Fun game but definitely needs more bug fixes so it can be more turn based strategy and not the computed armies doing whatever they feel like.
It really reminds us of heros 3. The map is more interactive.
Like the game. Much strategy. Makes you think, play wisely. Since update two days ago, cant connect to server. Error: 2002 Error fixed. Well done.
Heroes is a challenging and fun game you will want to play every day.
Theres more depth than meets the eye.
Love a good turned based strategy.
Seems ok so far. Just started so a little tough to rate.
Too early to give a real rating. Doing this for 100 coins.
Enjoying the turn based battles.
Its a good game just there is a lot of bugs needing to be fixed still is a good game.
Im rewriting our review now that we have played for about 3 weeks. Im still keeping it at a 4 star rating for a few reasons: The game is really fun if you grew up playing Heroes 3 of Might and Magic: Complete. Its very nostalgic to that play style. We also love the fact that this game is not a P2W game, and you dont ever feel the need to be Top 10 or something. The game progresses accordingly with the amount of time you put into it. One of the best feature in this game IMO is the gladiator in the arena. The feature allows you to bet 250 silver, 50 gold or 500 gold. Gold is purchased using real currency so the fact that the game allows you to acquire their in-game currency WITHOUT having to use real currency is always a plus for us. Of course there is a risk of you losing your bet, so it all comes down to how avid of a gamer you are, how well you understand each different heroes and compositions. 3 weeks into the game, we have accumulated about 10,000 gold from quests, watching ads and this gladiator feature. The gameplay and art style is 5 stars worthy. However, this is where we have a few troubles with the game and the reason for not giving it a 5 star. The game is definitely incomplete; we would say its still in its beta stage at best. Some basic details are still lacking such as the time it takes to build a building. We built our healing tent level 2 which took 3+ days; would love to know how long they will take beforehand. The difficulties are inconsistent / imbalanced as well. We just finished Chapter 2 and moved on to Chapter 3 yesterday, and we have been regretting it ever since. The worst part about this game is how you cannot go back to previous chapters after you have completed it. WHY? It doesnt make any sense! You cant collect resources from those provinces anymore; and you are stuck on your new chapter if you are too weak. We dont get the idea behind not allowing us to access chapters we have finished. How do we level our heroes in the new chapter so they can take on the challenges we cant defeat currently? PVP does not give EXP points. It gives 100-500 EXP at most, and it takes 200,000+ EXP to level up one character after level 17 or so. We have also come across the invading Undead army that takes up provinces we have already taken. We LOVE that enemy (just because that undead army is your source to farm your EXP), but it doesnt seem to come if you have completed the chapter. Our mistake & regret was to defeat the ARMY first when it came in Chap 2, instead of defeating the provinces it took. (If you dont defeat the army, you can keep farming for EXP as the army will keep taking new provinces after each war. So basically, you just chase its tail and farm for EXP by re-invading the provinces it previously took.) Anyway, as an example, after moving on to chapter 3 from chapter 2, Im majorly stuck and dont see a way to progress. We were able to beat chapter 2 enemies so easily, so we thought we were ready for chapter 3. Boy, was we wrong! Ive only gotten like 3-4 provinces in chapter 3. Thats why, the game should have a feature where it tells the players the recommended level for each chapters, ESPECIALLY if they are not allowed to go back to the previous chapter! For example, the recommended level to progress to chapter 3 is to have at least three level 19 heroes or something along the line of that. So far, we have learned our lesson not to rush to the next chapter. Hope those who took time to read this will also not make the same mistakes we made. Im gonna have to use lots of 99 gold (for the bonus attributes) to defeat the chapter 3 enemies with our under leveled heroes.
Unique take on turn-based magic combat.
So far so good. It might get a little grindy later down the road, but its all good.
Good strategy, easy enough to learn, but boy, why cant anyone come up with an actual tutorial that explains things, instead of just playing itself.
The very second we read about speeding up construction, we instantly knew this was one of those leech impossible to win without paying games. The developer responses are childish and funny to say the least.
Tough to learn at first but a lot of fun. The game give you some help when you feel like you are out of potions.
Well, the game is too slow, we were falling asleep. Everything is slow except the characters movement thanks god. If we play a mobile game, we want things go fast. Your game might be okay on PC, we might give it a try again on mobile after the game gets an update with 200% speed up.
The game is a match the tiles to what you need and there is some strategy in it so that you dont trap yourself after a move. Also its a bit slow on the taking your turn. Its not a bad game just very time consuming. Im also doing this review because Im tired of the Rate it box popping up after every battle.
Challenging and fun, right from the start if you dont play smart youll have a tough time. So the replay value is there for sure. Edit: But we dont understand how it makes sense for the developers to give you characters that have 25 HP total or at most 40-50 hp, and then put enemies who are ranged and hit you for 72 from 7 spaces away, making it almost pointless to do the level the first few times because you will 100% not win. May need to tweak the early game to be more new player friendly because it could definitely turn people off from playing. Edit : Once you start to really think its very fun.
Bit of a learning curve but starting to get into it. Watch ads to heal army. Seems limitless so you can keep battling.
We really enjoy playing this game but it is very difficult from the start…which is not bad per say but it might turn ppl off. However, it is a nice break as it seems most game devs for the Apple store cant have an original idea, all they do is clone the same game with a different skin. We hope this team keeps developing this game as it has great potential. Good work devs.
Updated to respond to developer By the end of the tutorial characters are level 4 with two item slots open for each. With random free chests and loot you will maybe have an item for each character unless you have spent gold on random loot boxes until you can fully equip your starter team. The following battles have enemies that one shot every team member including the tank unless you spend gold on the recommended +40% health boost before combat. Most of the positive reviews seem to be one liners most likely written by the developers great game or our friends told us about this game and now we play it 24/7. To the negative reviews they respond with flat out lies and blame the player for pointing out the pay to win money trap. Its probably possible to dance around kiting enemies for the first few levels but it is a flaw in game design when the tank character cant take a hit without buying a health boost before combat. End update One star for developers replying to someones review that this is a money dump game by laughing and saying there is nothing to BUY to win in this game. By the 4th battle your characters are absurdly weak compared to the enemy unless you have bought speed ups for building your town and loot chests hoping for good random items. This is normal in these mobile games but it is really disheartening to have read your response that you dont know of anything you can buy in the game only to sink an hour into the game to find out that pretty much the only way to succeed is to buy things.
Full of fake 5 star reviews. Terrible game.
Worst game ever, you need to sink your wallet to use gold to even have a chance to beat the enemies and this is in the very beginning. Your starting heroes are usually 5 to 7 levels lower then what you are trying to beat. Just ridiculous, money grabber, stay away.
Gorgeous game with fresh elements that require strategic thinking. Very polished for its newness.
