Ever wanted to be the villain? To build a lair? Hire henchmen? Fight superheroes? Concoct dastardly plans? Raid a city? Or… take over the world?

No? What, really? Sure you do!

Idle Mastermind, from the makers of Idle Apocalypse, is the best supervillain simulator of 2020! Play as three supervillains. The techy but tiny: Dr DOS. The gangster crime boss: Yara. Or the unpredictable: LOL. Each has their own evil grand plan.

Build a lair to run your empire from. Hire a bunch of evil henchmen to do your bidding. Raid the city above to gain precious resources. Unlock new research and skills to improve your criminal, idle empire.

When you’re ready, execute your evil plan and bring about the apocalypse!

Play as 3 distinct villains, each with:

  • A unique lair with special floors and henchmen.
  • Different strategies, skills and stories.
  • Unique resource management styles.

Build your dream lair:

  • 30 unique floors.
  • Floors that will generate resources while offline.
  • Special floors with unique gameplay elements.

Hire an army of evil thugs:

  • 20+ henchmen.
  • Different classes, abilities.
  • Unique resource management gameplay.

And more…!

  • Collect heaps of skins.
  • Complete events.
  • Join the Evil Eye Association.

On top of that it has all the humour and inane chatter of a Grumpy Rhino game. The makers of Idle Apocalypse.

Lovers of simulation games and incremental clickers won’t be able to put down this dastardly, near criminal RPG.

This Simulation game offers engaging gameplay and regular updates for mobile players.

Community Insight:

We still like it a lot, but the gameplay loop isnt as satisfying and strategic as Necromerger and Idle Apocalypse. Also the art and things you unlock arent as interesting to us since we prefer monster-type characters.

One of our favorite mobile games.

Found a slight crashing issue though. We saved to buy Counterfeint early before most of the other henchmen and whenever she robbed a building, it crashed. We had to avoid the surface animations until we unlocked a crew with her, which stopped crashing. Wasnt sure if this glitch was noticed, but it hasnt caused any issue with the enjoyment of the game.

Witty humor, colorful art, which is something youd better have for an idle game, since you will be seeing it constantly. Fun game that is a little short in content and a bit high in price. You can earn all currencies without spending money, but they expect you to spend valuable corruptinite to a large extent to even play the events. In NecroMerger, this companies other, better idle game, they are included in the game. They are timed to once per week, like in this, but do not cost you rare resources to participate in. We were staggered when we saw to reparticipate in the moon laser event, it would cost almost ten dollars in corruptinite. It was not nearly fun or valuable enough for us to even consider doing again. That is a preposterous misfire clearly designed to drain money. NecroMerger has a much fairer attitude. The seasonal and normal events are fun, rewarding, and free. Here, we feel much less generosity at play. Worth playing, but we would highly recommend not spending much money. You can get everything with enough time, and money invested does not give back enough for it, in our opinion. Also after a few weeks we seem to have maxed a lot of the building progression which is staggering considering how much better paced their other game is, which trickles content out over month and years.

It will take you an inordinate amount of time to accumulate the resources needed to unlock the later villains needed for basic progression unless you spend way more money on the game than its worth.

Pets pretty cool so things considered.

Items in the game to unlock next tiers are priced so highly theyre trying to force people to buy in app purchases, sick of this scummy practice. The game itself is boring and the dialog is woefully unfunny. Dont bother with this shovelware.

This game is wonderful for a variety of reasons. Witty dialogue, unique characters, a fun aesthetic, etc. But the reason we call it our favorite idle game is because of the base mechanics. Most idle games to us start fun, get boring after a certain point, pick up again in the late game, and then taper out. This game gets rid of the middle trough, so we already feel like Im in the late game, and even after playing for 8 months the fun hasnt tapered off. By having resets that take you to other characters, you get to stay in the fun early game period while still making progress. Additionally, we havent spent a cent on this game. Yes, we watch adds sometimes but the game makes that entirely optional and the AdMan system makes sure we dont overload ourselves on ads either. We can check in on the game throughout the day, and probably put in an hour or two a day, which is exactly what we want from an idle game. Cannot recommend enough.

Seems good but the graphics are very off-putting on our iPhone.

Game seems cool in theory, but the time gating if you dont pay are ridiculous. You would probably have to play this game for thousands of hours in order to unlock what a pay pig will experience within a handful of hours. Great example of how money is ruining games.

So the game is fine and we love it to bits, but theres an audio error that happens randomly and consistently for long periods of time when we play. And turning SFX and music off doesnt fix it. It sounds like someone high-fiving or chopping rubber…like a wa-Poosh or ca-chunk. It doesnt stop until we close the app and turn off our phone. Its annoying and we cant get it to stop. It persists after closing the game and opening other things, and its only happening with this game. Please fix it, we love this game and we wanna keep playing. Thank you.

The events arent long enough. Barely clear the halfway point.

So when you have a quest to do to start missions you can start a mission cancel it and it still counts towards the total so you can just continuously do this to get gems.

Are the developers self conscious of their height.

Got this game cause love Idle Apocalypse, and it is basically the same EXCEPT you HAVE to restart to advance AND tons of stuff you NEED unlocked to advance your lair relies on BUYING one of the other Masterminds (need LOL to get Skeleton keys unlocked for Dr. DOS). Having to restart to advance is bad enough, though annoying its still playable. Having to PURCHASE a character to advance just makes this more of a money grab than an actual fun game.

Though the game has a very fun and creative theme it lacks replay ability. Unlike the last game where every time you restarted it got easier and easier it just seemed like every time you restart in Mastermind your just stuck in a loop. The start of game we think is what makes it so tedious to have to restart after taking so much time building up. We also think that the In-App purchases and buffs arent worth as much as the last games was. Still tho it still has the GamingRhino charm with funny characters and dialogue and definitely worth a shot to play.

All of our progress was deleted for no apparent reason.

Paid $15 to get the three major upgrades which is a must to progress. Still have ads. Breaking point came when we find out the single repeating events have to be bought back into for a small fortune in game resources. Starts off awesome. Fails half way to good. TLDR: move on.

An improvement over Idle Apocalypse, IMO, a game which we played heavily up to the release of this one. We feel Idle Mastermind strikes a good balance between idle and active gameplay. We're eager to see where this game will go in its future as it is clear Grumpy learns how to improve his idle formula with each game release. Strongly recommended.

Omg we absolutely love this game! We dont understand why anyone wouldnt like it.

This game is painfully slow!!! You hit the bottleneck with the Generator very early. Just trying to get to Grand Plan or whatever so you can restart is torturous! Also, there needs to be more to do in the city and the base. Im a budding supervillain trying to grow an empire and all we can do is tap a magnet every 10 seconds, cargo from an intermittent train, or one of the resource rooms in the base. The reporter with the cutscene is a waste.

We were enjoying the game until it became impossible to finish. At a certain point early in, you need x resource that is only stolen by y henchman. Y henchman can only be unlocked by crafting z room, which can only be unlocked by x resource. We didnt mind it this far. It was a little slow with not enough reward for starting and running your plan. But its whatever.

GrumpyRhino makes the best idle/resource management games and this one is no exception. Progressing in the game is fun and includes ways to play when idle and while active. Offers we n game events as well as seasonal events, and the prestige system offers great rewards and feels rewarding. Grumpy is also known for consistent quality content updates as well as well thought out quality of life updates. Try this game and Idle Apocalypse.

We loved Idle Apocalypse, so we were excited when this was announced. This is another FANTASTIC strategy/idle game. The resource management/planning is challenging and very fun. The pixel art is beautiful, and combined with the sarcastic banter between characters really makes the world come alive. This is another stellar game from Grumpy Rhino – do yourself a favor and grab it.
