A Glimpse into In Antarctica: A Comic Escape

THE PREMISE:
What happens when you pair the story-driven narrative and humor of classic point-and-click adventure games with the brain-teasing puzzles of escape-the-room games?

The answer: In Antarctica.

THE STORY:
Things were looking up for John Hopper. He was a top researcher at his company, enjoying the financial rewards and the intellectual satisfaction of a job well done. Then things went south. A shake-up at the company landed John a one-way ticket to the South Pole, a fool’s errand to an abandoned research site. Marooned in Antarctica, John struggles to find a purpose.

Can he get to the bottom of what happened at HQ?
Can he return home and reunite with his family?
Or is he just another Antarctic fragment, destined to end up adrift in a snowbank?

THE BREAKTHROUGH:
You know escape games. You love them. It’s you, in a room, four walls. You move around and try to find the light of the day. But the room is static. It may be 3D, but it lacks a dimension — time. What if events happened in sequence, and you had to find a way to turn back the clock?

In Antarctica is played like a series of panels in a comic book, with events unfolding before you. You’ll have to search the room and interact with your environment to change the outcome of events and save John from the brink of danger.

This is the closest thing to time travel you will ever get, so stop building that DeLorean in your basement and start playing this game right now.

FEATURING:

  • Lush, handcrafted CGI graphics!
  • Achievements: as if exploring nooks and crannies and finding fun dialogue wasn’t enough, we’ve added further incentive to leave no stone unturned!
  • Amazing hairdos!
  • Pathos and human drama!
  • Snow!

We absolutely loved this game!!! It is definitely our favorite escape game & we play a lot of them! You HAVE to make another one!!! Seriously, we really hope you do!!! We love your other games too, the banana escape & orbit exodus were fantastic too so please keep making these awesome escape games!!!

  1. We cant get past the 1st chapter (saw wont cut rope) 2. The App Support (in the Apple App Store, not the game itself) takes you to a porn site. Wow.

Great graphics, extremely unique type of "escape" game puzzle. Very entertaining and the right amount of challenge. Love the little hidden extras as well!

Our first time to write a review on App Store, because this game deserves more attention! Great escape game!

This is a new approach to escape or adventure games. Really enjoyed it. Waiting for more.

The idea is really smart and the puzzle is reasonable. Good work!

Bravo! The plot, the scenes and the music, everything despite of a few small bugs, makes us relaxed and forget about time running. The ending is not as sad as said. However the accomplishment would bring hollowness as you have gone through all the way there. Expecting the sequels!

We really didn’t know what to expect. Now that we’ve played it through, we can say it is definitely a good game. The story and the graphics are great. We appreciated that the puzzles were hard, but not impossible. We hope to see more of these types of games!

Gorgeous graphics, the right combo of challenge and accessibility. Our only criticism is that protagonist’s lines repeat in their entirety when you click on some objects. One liners would suffixe.

We were stuck on level 4 but we pushed through! This one is absolutely our favorite especially cause we were like, "no it can’t end like this." If you like puzzles this one is for you and also there’s not many sources of walkthroughs or help so think outside of the box!

This game was really strange but in a good way. If you are more into classic room escape, try their banana escape game too. That one was pretty good.

This game is top notch. From the creative comic book style to the good storyline. We’re floored by the different style of game compared to every escape the room game out there–of which we’ve played quite a few. (There are a few bugs in chapter 6 but we’re willing to overlook it since it’s so good).

This is an interesting, unique design and a really fun escape game. We have not seen anything like this before. The downside is that we are stuck on a level and there are no walkthroughs or hints.

The story is touching. Sometimes we might feel being brought down, that doesn’t have to be the reason we stop living. We can save that man, making him live again, but that’s not the case in real life, we have to save us on our own. Thanks to the developers! Thank you!

This was one of the most amazing escape games we’ve played. It was challenging on some levels (level 4) but the missions you have to complete were unique and interesting. We hope to see more from the APPS creator. Great job!!

The style of this escape game is one of the best we’ve seen. Just love the design and high-res graphics. The concept of this particular game is something we’ve never seen before and we really ended up enjoying it. The storyline was definitely dark as others have mentioned, but we enjoyed it. They used the music to make you "feel" something along with the storyline. We played their first game and loved it. We played this game and loved it. Now onto play their Banana escape game. Highly recommend!!!

This game is awesome. We love how they combined the escape game with comic strips. It was a truly unique experience. Just when we thought it was over, we did the impossible and altered the end. We hope there is a part two or more games like this one.

Pretty dark ending. Neat design and good puzzles but, sheesh, what a downer ending.

The end is not really the end! We thought it ended on a hopeful note.

Can’t figure out computer on stage 3. We went to the website to get help but, it’s in a different language.

The mission screen blocks the pictures in view. Cannot see what we are clicking on. Please fix this with an update.
